Corporation and citizens tussle on Pimprala land continues:
The on-going municipal corporation and Pimprala citizens continues on the crematorium land. Administration is on its harder stand to continue with construction of crematorium as per reservation in its city development plan. Citizens in the area are against the motive and have decided to continue with protest on the same.
Corporation administration, Police and public representatives conducted a joint meet yesterday to review the situation and arrive at solution for the issue. Citizens continued their stand on not to have construction done here and shift the reservation to other place to facilitate citizens. Administration marked this reservation done by 1993 as valid and expressed inability to change it on their own as its state approval process and would requirement administrative roll for the same. It has quoted to restart work by Monday under police protection.

Monsoon raining alike climate, but no rains:
Khandesh region is desperate to see this Monsoon’s first mega splash yet and in spite of having all climatic conditions of good raining feeling, no raining is being seen throughout region. As a result of showering to no raining climatic conditions, farmers have paused cultivation process and are waiting for good raining to restart.
District Crop loan distribution review:
Jalgaon district bankers have availed crop loans worth Rs. 740 Crores till date for this season to that of its assigned target of 925 Crores for the year. This includes 650 Crores target for JDCC Bank, 40 Crores for Rubby crop, and rest 235 Crores for nationalised and merchant bankers. JDCC has disbursed 630 Crores loan wherein nationalised and merchant banks have availed only 110 Crores loan by now.

Dhapubai Jain Charitable trust Jalgaon under project SD-SEED has announced availing Scholarships worth Rs. 1 Crore for higher educational needs to Jalgaon district natives. It aims to benefit around 2,500 students from financially weaker state by availing them scholarship based on their educational needs and future aspect. Students having passed SSC exam in first attempt and having achieved minimum 70% score in HSC in rural/ 75% in HSC in urban area and having scored 120 marks in respective course entrance exam in under-graduate category and having family annual income less than 1 Lakh are eligible for this scholarship for getting educational in any of educational institution throughout State/ Country. NMU Vice Chancellor Election committee formed:
State Governor and Chancellor of North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has appointed Vice-Chancellor search cum recommendation committee. The committee comprises of retried Justice Mukul Mudgal along with Hyderabad I.I.T. director Prof. U. B. Desai and State revenue department chief secretary as members to the committee.
NMU VC term is ending on 20th August 2011 and formation of this committee would now lead to further execution of processes for selection of eligible and suited candidature in next 2months. Committee would select 5 members out of all applications received through its print media advertisement and then send this recommendation report to State Governor and NMU chancellor for final appointment of VC.
Panchayat elections dominate both Congress parties in action:
Panchayat election results announced yesterday marked both Congress-I and NCP marking major gains. In Nandurbar district, NCP has secured 159 wherein Congress-I has secured 119 seats of 281. NCP was able to strengthen itself in rural areas wherein urban areas had Congress-I marking major gains. Jalgaon Panchayat elections were in process till late night and detailed results are yet to be availed.

Pimprala citizens to mark protest march to Corporation today:
Pimprala based citizens are marking a protest march today to Corporation administrative building to reiterate their demand of shifting crematorium to another location to that of current Saint Meerabai Nagar block#312 along with various other demands. This includes concreting of road from Saint Meerabai Nagar to Pimprala village, construction of waste outlets in block#312,313,315, introduce open-toileting free area scheme and to setup corporation hospital, school, bazaar Peth and amusement park in area seeing rising populace of the area. Protest march would also go to Collectorate to mark their demand.
Corporation by-election – NCP wins:
Corporation ward#61 by-election voting and its counting process completed yesterday. NCP has secured its ward#61 seat by defeating rival Khandesh Vikas Aghadhi nominee member by 599 votes. NCP candidate got 1,133 votes wherein rival KVA candidate got just 584 votes. Seat was earlier vacated with death of NCP elected candidate. Polling had 57% voting. Jalgaon district’s Panchayat elections have recorded average voting of 65-79% in various Taluka.
Khandesh Village Panchayat elections voting:
Khandesh region’s village Panchayat having completed their term underwent term election voting yesterday. Dhule district’s Shirpur and Sakri Panchayat had around 52% average voting wherein ZP block voting at Nardane had 57% voting. Shirpur had 76.21% voting. Nandurbar had 281 Panchayat in term completion and had 34 unopposed candidatures. Rest 247 Panchayat had voting for 1,892 seats and had around 70% voting. Votes counting is being conducted in both districts today.

Corporation and citizens tussle over Pimprala crematorium:
Jalgaon city municipal corporation and Pimprala area residents are on one to one protest mode these days with Corporation’s announced and begun Pimprala crematorium work. Citizens have urged Corporation to shift the place of this crematorium as the early time decided vacant location is now fully pack with residences all around it and having crematorium and funeral processes in between the residential areas makes living discomfort.
Corporation authorities are taking base of reservation on the place for this work along with amusement park and it quotes to have this crematorium constructed towards the end corner of this garden. Citizens in spite of the social spheres related to funeral processes are not getting any response from administration. Hence it has now turned to tussling mode wherein citizens are blocking work to be done by corporation employees and private contractor and are also not allowing anyone to enter in this work area. Corporation administration on its side has started calling police security for initiating works. No diplomatic talks have been initiated by any leaders yet.
Rain showering in whole Jalgaon:
Jalgaon district witnessed medium to showering raining throughout district yesterday. Climate remained cloudy for whole day and had raining intervals. Medium raining was also witnessed later in night. This has raised hopes of good rainfall ahead. Chopda remained on top with 3mm raining recorded where Erandol and Dharangaon were on lowest with 1mm raining recorded.
Khandesh’s 330 village Panchayat undergo polling today:
Khandesh region’s 330 village Panchayat are undergoing their term election voting today. This includes 18 from Jalgaon, 281 from Nandurbar and 31 from Dhule. This includes Raver Taluka based Lohara, Nimdya, Pal, Sahastralinga, Padale Bk, Kusuma Khurda, Kusumba Bk and Jinsi Panchayat. There are 127 candidates for 54 seats of these Panchayat.

Jalgaon city municipal corporation ward#61 by-election is being conducted today. Votes counting would be done immediately after the voting completion by 5pm. Voting is in Corporation Urdu School# 36, 56 and has EVM for 3,072 voters. Voting has Khandesh Vikas Aghadhi and NCP candidates as two major players in fray.

State approves Jalgaon, Amalner police station area splits:
Maharashtra State home affairs ministry has approved setting up of new Police Station at Ramanand Nagar in Jalgaon and separating rural and urban areas in Amalner police station. Amalner city police station is currently handling both urban and rural affairs and risen population made it difficult to control. Jilha Peth Jalgaon police station has most of city’s areas making it only station with limited resources to handle whole city. This proposed split to Ramanand area would ease its load and enable efficient services to citizens.
Raining in district – farmers still awaiting cultivation worthy raining:
Jalgaon district’s many areas yesterday witnessed light to medium rain showering yesterday night. Bhusawal had raining for around half an hour along with Jalgaon city, Erandol and Parola having reported medium raining late in nights. Raining eased climate a bit and spread chill in air. Climate is cloudy today as well and slight showers have been witnessed in morning as well.

Delaying raining panics farmers:
Jalgaon district farmers are in panic these days with delaying mode of monsoon rain arrival. Most of cultivation has stopped following no rainfall and earlier cultivated is also moving towards danger zone. Farmers await desperate rainfall to avoid re-cultivation stage and face the financial jolt. Delaying raining has also raised prices of various commodities in market.
MPSC exam on 26th June – 4,949 aspirants from Jalgaon:
Maharashtra Public Services Commission conducted MPSC exam for Police Sub-Inspector post is being conducted on Sunday, 26th June from 17 centres in district. Exam is from 10.30am until 12.30pm and has 4,949 aspirant candidates. Administration has appointed staffing of over 600 personnel for smooth conduct.
District wins 11 medals in State table soccer competition:
Jalgaon district team has won 11 medals in recently conducted State level table soccer competition at Ahmednagar. This includes 5 gold medals, 5 Silver and one bronze to 11 out of 13 participants from Jalgaon. Players include Hrishikesh Raverkar, Mohit Chaudhari, Sharayu Dhande, Piyush Chinchole and Hrishikesh Dhande winning gold. Jalgaon players participated in single, doubles and mixed competitions and were amongst 263 players from 27 districts.
Jalgaon’s two selected for National Atya-Patya competition:
Siddhi Vinayak School students Sagar Dhangar and Harshada Anil Chavan have been selected for national Atya Patya competition to be played at Vishnupur in west Bengal from 24th until 28th June. Both qualified for competition by winning State event conducted at Nagpur.

Administration announces councils reservation in Jalgaon:
Jalgaon district administration yesterday conducted a draw of 12 municipal councils reservation. This draw had 50% reservation for women candidates and in spite of this there were very less number of women candidates and aspirants present. This draw had Bhusawal, Yaval, Raver, Faizpur, Savda, Amalner, Chopda, Dharangaon, Parola, Erandol, Chalisgaon and Pachora municipal Councils reservation draw.
Yesterday’s draw announced has put reservation in 292 seats. Bhusawal council having 47 wards will now have 12 blocks and now has reservation of 24 seats for women candidate. Other OBC and allied categories ward/ block based reservation is yet to be announced. Savda now has 4 blocks and 17 ward and 9 seats have been put for women candidate reservation. Women candidates will now have Amalner – 17, Chopda – 14, Yaval – 10, Chalisgaon – 17 seats reservation. Bhusawal has highest of council seats i.e. 47 seats followed by Amalner and Chalisgaon each with 33 seats.

Railways policies troubles banana producers in region:
The Railways stand to offer minimum 84 wagons for shipment of banana at once has put district banana producers in troubles these days. Banana producers already facing jolts on natural calamities, sudden cyclonic winds and snowing are only able to get two yields in a year. As a result of this, the 84 wagons at a time term puts them in trouble and reduces profits for moving towards road transport. 100 quintals of banana shipment by road takes around 31,000 wherein railways charge around 20,000 for 120 quintals of banana. This benefits both farmers and railways in revenue aspect and also avails quick delivery.
Region having around 194 racks in 2004-05 to northern Indian cities like Delhi and Kanpur now has just 82 wagons in 2010-11. Railways have this shipment facility for region since 95 years and in spite of this aspect railway is not evaluating practical aspects. Producers have demanded making this count to 70 wagons and need region’s politician’s support to uplift and get this approved by railways ministry.
District administration announces process for Talathi exam:
District administration has announced process for recruitment of 106 posts for Talathi. It has received 28,761 applications for the same and has qualified 26,937 candidates and would now conduct written exam on 31st July. It has published list of all 1,824 disqualifying candidates and has availed them 7 days’ time for response and clearing the compliance aspect. Listing is available on administration website http://www.jalgaon.nic.in. Administration would issue hall tickets to candidate via post and would also avail same on its website after 15th July. Exam would be conducted at Amalner, Bhusawal, Jalgaon and Chalisgaon centres.
Mohammed Arif selected in Indian team for Asian power lifting competition:
Bhusawal Ordnance factory based Mohammed Arif has been selected in Indian team for participation in Asian Bench Press Powerlifting championship at Taiwan from 12th until 14th August. He qualified for this in selection rounds conducted at Nagpur in senior category.

Delaying monsoon panics farmers in Khandesh:
Mrgua Nakshatra is ending on 22nd June and would follow Adra Nakshatra arrival. Whole Khandesh region still waits raining in good form making farmers’ panic around. Entire Khandesh had intense summer heat stroke in May and this raised hopes of farmers of wonderful rainfall ahead. June began with humid approach, cyclonic winds and mixed climatic conditions. Such conditions have thrown around 1.75 Lakh hectares based crop and around 13 Lakh hectares land cultivation still pending for the same. Agriculture in region has more yields expectation in Kharip than Rubby cultivation and has most of its efforts applied here.
Corporation Fule market shops selling in question:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation general body decision to sell Fule Market shops on ownership basis is in questions on legal grounds. The land occupied by Fule market is government land and has been availed by State to earlier municipal council for weekly market on contractual basis. The town land measurements department in its reply to Fule Market traders association has conveyed that this land being government owned may face legality on grounds of ownership if Corporation sells this to traders. It has also not disclosed on the State and Council contractual period for this land bearing city survey number 1938/37B/1. Corporation administration is yet to respond on this aspect.
Jalgaon district crop loans distribution for the season:
Jalgaon district’s lead banker, nationalised and merchant bankers having target of 925 Crores for this season have distributed on 707.75 Crores loan until now. This includes 628 Crores alone from JDCC Bank and rest 79.75 Crores from nationalised and merchant banks. District administration yesterday conducted a review meet of all bankers in the reference and has announced posting action on bankers having not completed their assigned quota for the same.

Raining in Pachora and Bhadgaon after 15 days span:
Pachora and Bhadgaon Taluka both witnessed medium raining after 15 days span. Raining begun by 5pm and continued for around 80-90 minutes in Pachora and it begun at 4.30pm in Bhadgaon and continued in medium form for an hour. Raining has eased humidity and helped on-going cultivation.

Hatnur dam’s 4 gates opened:
Administration has opened up 4 gates of Hatnur dam following hefty rainfall in Tapi River’s origin area Baitul in Madhya Pradesh. Whole State has rain pouring since last 2-3 days and as a result of this Hatnur dam water levels have significantly raised. Jalgaon district still awaits good rainfall.
Jalgaon district’s major village Panchayat receives 55.20 Lakhs grant:
Jalgaon district’s 10 major sized village Panchayat have received approval of 55.20 Lakhs special grant under Samruddha Gram scheme to promote ecological balance. It has received 40 Lakhs first instalment for this and would cover street lights setup in bazaar areas along with setting up of student study facilitation services. Every individual Panchayat would get 5.52 Lakhs fund for the same and it includes Shirsoli (Jalgaon), Kurhe, Sakegaon, Talvel(Bhusawal), Vikhran (Erandol), Pal(Raver), Dahigaon (Yaval), Anturli(MuktaiNagar), MuktaiNagar and Bodwad.

SSC result 2011 – region shines with wonderful score:
SSC 2011 result was announced yesterday with best of five pattern in place and Khandesh’s all districts marking good score. Dhule went on top in results with 86.46% passing followed by Jalgaon with 86.37% and Nandurbar with 84.47% passing. Dhule based Chavra English Medium School student Rachna Bumb scoring 100% and topping in whole Khandesh followed by same School student Rohan Deore scoring third rank with 99.45%.
MuktaiNagar based Nikita Marathe scored 99.27% and has topped in district. Jalgaon’s 71 schools have marked 100% result in this year. P. N. Lunkad School student Jignyasa Heda has scored 97.09% and topped in Jalgaon city followed by R. R. student Gitanjali Attarde and Somesh Ravindra Chaudhari both securing second rank with 96.91% score and same School student Kalpesh Chaudhari scoring third rank with 96.73%.
Corporation General body meeting review:
Jalgaon city municipal corporation general body met yesterday to discuss various projects and developmental aspects on the role. The ruling party members have unanimously approved selling of Corporation owned Fule market shops on ownership rights. Body has approved availing instalment based payments for those willing to pay in monthly mode with 15% interest on amount and has posted around 14.75 Lakhs as cost per shop in market. Opposition party members marked need of proper evaluation of the rate seeing wear and tear in the market and considering depreciation from date of construction and commencement of the market. Traders at other end have demanded extension of Corporation lease contract for at least 2 years period and continue the same till 30 years.
The proposal has assigned priority to existing shop owners as per Corporation records and aims to use this fund to repay HUDCO’s huge outstanding dues.
NMU gets 31 new colleges affiliation request:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has received 56 proposal for setting up new Colleges in its work area. Out of these proposals, it has technically approved 31 proposals and has sent to State government for final nod. The new proposal list includes Engineering – 3, management – 1, Hotel and Hospitality Management – 1, College of Education – 2, Arts, Commerce and Science stream – 23 and fine arts -1 colleges having sent requests. NMU currently has 213 Colleges affiliated and new list includes 12 Arts, Commerce and Science Colleges followed by 9 in Dhule and 2 in Nandurbar along with 2 more engineering colleges in Jalgaon and one in Dhule and all rest applications are also from Jalgaon.

NMU likely to avail delayed under-graduation results:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon administration is in deadlock alike mode over results of under-graduate stream based 17,854 students. Many of its faculty and lecturers have moved to no co-operation mode in paper checking under central assessment programme. As a result of this, commerce faculty result is already overdue and science faculty’s 45 days result time limit has also reached its bottleneck. This might impact students studying here in getting admission to higher education courses in State’s other academic institution admission process. Administration has announced likely announcement of result before 30th June for Commerce and Science and first week of July for Arts stream.

Traders initiates tussles against LBT tax:
District traders confederation in association with its State parent unit has announced new levels of protest measures against State’s local body tax initiative. Recently Central Government review committee has recommended cancellation of Octroi and local body tax in 22 districts of Maharashtra State. State has not responded to this recommendation yet and Traders confederation has planned new joint protest marches to get both troublesome taxes cancelled. Traders’ confederation is meeting today in Nagar and would discuss its further stand in the reference. Maharashtra is only State in country having these taxes and in spite of hefty revenue collection in VAT and recent VAT rate increase from 4% to 5%, it has not cancelled both taxes.

Khandesh region students have marked phenomenal performance in MHT-CET 2011 exam result announced yesterday. Jai Hind College Dhule based Anuja Gadre (score: 190) has topped in Group-A in Khandesh wherein M. J. State Transport Corporation bus drivers on strike:
Jalgaon depot based State transport Corporation bus drivers have moved to stir against Corporation not paying attention to its drivers getting beaten by tractor driver and its labours in recent incidence. Depot’s all unions have marked strong protest to this accident has demanded immediate action cum support from the depot. Union members have also requested its attention to illegal traffic being carried through private taxies and buses in the region. Meanwhile Police has sent all four suspects in this killing in police custody. This caused panic and troubles to passengers having planned to travel by road.

Crompton greaves to take Jalgaon electricity distribution charge from 15th August:
State Electricity Distribution Company’s privatised vendor Crompton Greaves would take charge of distribution process from 15th August. It has already initiated its processes and administrative setup in Jalgaon for distribution outlay, resource development for Jalgaon city’s two urban and rural divisions each. Key challenges for Vendor are to reduce electricity distribution losses and thefts and focus on collections. The urban division has around 18 Crores revenue and has good revenue collection and this would be major service area. Amongst other challenges include improving service quality during downtimes, sudden failures, natural calamities and required service aspects. State’s earlier mantra and known theme that one would get immediate response and support once called to Electricity board office has vanished in last 7-8 years in-spite of the fact that every electrician and support staff’s official remuneration has almost doubled.
Jalgaon district has around 1.50 Lakh customers in residential, industrial and farmer category and this new franchising contract is valid for next 10 years and is for 750 square kms periphery of Jalgaon district.
Political parties initiates equations for upcoming council elections:
Jalgaon district’s many councils are undergoing term elections in December 2011 and district administration has already initiated its efforts and background preparations in the reference. Administration has urged all councils to revert with detailed new block based structure as per State’s new order to conduct council elections. Political parties have started their ground work for candidate search, campaigning raw data collection and such works. Key challenges for political parties at this stage includes gathering key points for promotion of their parties, putting up vision plan, gather masses and supporters to execute mass promotion to reach bottom neck of society.
District medicine dealers association election on 28th June:
Jalgaon district medicine dealers association 3-years term election is being conducted on 28th June for 17 seats. There are 4,994 voters for this election in district. Bhusawal thermal power station’s new project likely to begin functioning from this month end:
DeepNagar based Bhusawal thermal power station based new 1,000MW new electricity generation unit’s 500MW electricity generation unit is likely to begin its functioning from this month end. This new project faced many a jolts on the execution front and has come up from all and would begin its electricity generation first phase from this month end. This project was proposed to complete its setup and initiate execution by January-2010. Proposed addition in electricity availability is likely to benefit Khandesh a lot in reference to availability of power.
District banana Railway shipment to begin from 21st June:
District banana producers have decided to reinstate banana shipment to northern India beginning with 21st June in this month. There has been a big gap of around 78 months in shipment through railway following lowered amount of demand from the zone. Both Nimbhora and Raver would include this season’s first shipment to Northern India.
Maharashtra State exam council Scholarship exam results – district scores 70.27%:
State exam council Pune yesterday made an online result announcement of its pre secondary scholarship exam. Jalgaon district’s 30,880 students appeared for this exam and out of this 23,151 have cleared the same with 70.27% passing percentage. Jalgaon district’s Suvarna Raman Patil and Shubhangi Dhondu Gavali have topped in rural zone wherein Jagruti Bharat Patil, Ganesh Gurudev Patil, Rahul Champalal Rathod, Vikas Bapurao Patil, Shailesh Hiralal Patil, Shubham Rajendra Patil, Sujata Walmik Patil, Neha Sunil Patil, Samadhan Rajendra Pawar and Mayur Ramesh Marathe have scored 296 out of 300 marks have achieved second rank.

Corporation general body meeting on 17th June – to discuss availing its lands on B.O.T basis:
Jalgaon city municipal corporation general body is meeting on 17th June to discuss various topics on its agenda. Amongst major topics include availing corporation owned T.B. sanatorium land to private developers on build, operate and transfer basis for construction of Corporation hospital. It also plans to avail B.O.T. basis development of sports complex in Mohadi Shivar in its 12 acres land. Meet has 12 topics on agenda including these two topics. Administration plans to put clause of recovery of deposits in case the developers fail to develop land in 5 years’ time span.
Chopda on top in cotton cultivation in district:
Jalgaon district’s pre-season cotton cultivation process has completed on around 69,480 hectares land and agricultural department has estimated around 75,000 hectares area for cotton in this season to that of 60,000 hectares in last year. Chopda Taluka is on top of chart with 13,100 hectares under cotton cultivation followed by Dharangaon on second and Bodwad on lowest of chart with 560 hectares area under cultivation.
Cyclonic winds causes losses worth Rs. 9.50 Crores:
Cyclonic winds during last week have badly damaged district’s standing crop. Bhusawal division has reported winds followed by heavy raining in Bhusawal, Yaval, Raver and MuktaiNagar Taluka. Primary estimates of losses have revealed damages of around 9.49 Crores standing crop. Sudden winds have badly affected ready standing crop in the region in last fortnight. Administration or State is yet to initiate any action for the same.

Kharip cultivation planning in Khandesh:
Khandesh region’s around 15.50 Lakh hectares based area is under cultivation for upcoming Kharip cultivation. Cotton remains on most preferred crop list with around 5.80 Lakh hectares land in Jalgaon and 1.50 Lakh hectares in Dhule followed by grains and sugarcane in rest priority. All 3 districts have received first lots of pesticides and fertilisers.
Cyclonic winds damages banana worth Rs. 15 Crores in district:
Jalgaon district farmers have harsh time around with badly struck cyclonic winds rounds during last week. This has led to severe damages to standing banana crop in Bhusawal, Muktai Nagar and Raver Taluka with primary estimate of around 15 Crores. Muktai Nagar based Uchanda, Pimpri Nandu, Shemalde, Purnad and alike 13 villages based 500 hectares based banana cultivation has flattened due to cyclonic winds followed by rains.
Raver Taluka based 235 hectares farms on Tapi River banks have been worst affected in 14 villages. Bhusawal based Dahakali, Manpur, Kathoda have also recorded troubling damages to banana crop.
Jain sports academy win All India T-20 cricket competition:
Jalgaon based Jain sports academy has defeated Banglore Pepsi-XI team in All India Pepsi trophy T-20 cricket competition conducted by Ahmed Cricket academy Bangalore. Team secured clean victory of 6 wickets in finals. Jalgaon player Ghanshyam Chaudhari won man of the match award and also won best bowler of the tournament award along with team player Kunal Falak winning man of the series award scoring 216 runs in all in 7 innings.
Pepsi-XI batted first and scored 60 runs in 18.4 overs and could not sustain on Ghanshyam bowling. Ghanshyam took 6 wickets along with Mehul chipping 3 valuable wickets. In response, Jalgaon achieved the target in 5.5 overs loosing 4 wickets.

Raining splashes region – 5 killed in various incidences:
Khandesh region witnessed Monsoon season’s first splash with medium to heavy raining throughout all areas beginning by 2.30pm in afternoon. Lightning killed 5 in various incidences throughout region. Farmers have expressed satisfaction on pouring during mid Rohini Nakshatra. Saint Muktabai Lord Rama Palakhi in district from 14th June:
Jalgaon district’s rural deity Lord Rama temple trust’s annual Saint Muktabai Ram Palakhi would move towards Pandharpur for Ashadhi Ekadashi on 14th June from Jalgaon. It would move on 13th evening from temple and will be at Appa Maharaj Samadhi temple on that night and then move towards Pandharpur. It would remain in Pandharpur for 5 days for Ashadhi.

Jalgaon airport work completes a year span:
Jalgaon district’s biggest awaited dream of its airport is on its flags of getting into practical with full pace work in progress by Airport authority of India. The project was inaugurated by Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil a year ago on 13th June 2010 would now complete its one year of works in the week ahead. Jalgaon airport has budget of Rs. 325 Crores and has received 61 Crores grant in first phase of its work. The 120 acres land based Airport would kick forward new arena of growth for Jalgaon with its likely starting up of first commercial flight from November-2011.
Authority has completed around 1,700 meters of runway work and last layer would be posted soon. Currently the runway electrification work is in progress and the first terminal building work is in pace with passenger amenities, apron and taxi way works. MIDC is in process to allocate another 100 acres land in Kusumba zone to AAI for the work as per its request for availing additional facilities like second terminal, night landing and alike facilities.

Banana yields reduces in Girana dam belt:
The Chalisgaon Taluka, once upon a time famous destination for good banana yield is witnessing sharp decline in produces seeing last 5 years graphs for various reasons. Standing banana crops worth 1.50 Crores damages in Chopda Tahsil:
Chopda Taluka based Wadhoda, Mohida and Anvarde region yesterday witnessed cyclonic winds with heavy wind flow causing damages to standing ready to pick banana crop in around 50-60 hectares farms. This also took off electricity poles, trees in the region. This is second such major damage to banana crop in region with earlier Yaval based Hingonga village facing same or more intensity of losses. Dozing administration is yet to announce any action and compensation for the same.

Raining in district:
Whole Jalgaon district continue to witness humid climatic condition with cloudy to sunny intervals in between. Amalner Taluka’s many areas have reported cyclonic winds followed by raining. Lightning took lives of 2 animals in Patonda and many locations in city faced power outages for hours and highway traffic on some areas in Amalner got disrupted following fall of trees.
District’s 13,000 students likely to miss admissions:
Jalgaon district’s around 13,000 students are likely to face difficulties in admission to first year of college. The statistics have been announced on basis of H.S.C. 2011 result having 63,536 students passing wherein region only has 49,345 seats for first year in colleges affiliated to north Maharashtra University.
NMU has 113 affiliated colleges in Khandesh and CET result would lead another 1,000 odd taking admission in other streams. The rest 13,191 students may find too tough to get admission following limitation in seats. Jalgaon district current has 56 granted and non-granted colleges, Dhule has 34 and Nandurbar has 23 Colleges. District has first year arts stream intake of 25,300 seats, commerce with 9,530, science with 9,405, Law with 500 in granted category along with 2,000 seats in arts, 360 in commerce, 900 in Science and 80 in Law in unaided Colleges category.
NMU has announced starting up of distance education from this year and has urged students to opt this if and as they plan education externally doing their work.
District to get around 10,000 houses in Indira Awas scheme:
Jalgaon district has received approval for 9,815 houses construction under Indira Awas scheme. The project has reservation of 3% for handicapped and rest 97% for scheduled castes and minority and beneficiaries. Jalgaon has received approval of another 300 houses under Rajeev Gandhi housing scheme. Government avails hefty grants of Rs. 68,000 per eligible person under the scheme living below poverty lines and the rest can be taken by beneficiary through housing loan. This includes Amalner – 1,189, Chopda - 1,146, Jamner – 1,002, Chalisgaon – 844, Jalgaon – 738, Raver – 638, Dharangaon – 615, Bhusawal – 611, Parola – 526, Pachora – 516, Erandol – 449, Yaval – 448 and Bodwad for 240 houses construction.
Rajwad based teacher receives national award:
Rajwad (Parola) based primary school teacher Pakija Patel has been nominated for national level best teacher award for her outstanding contribution to education and social reforms. She would receive this award in ceremony on 05th September by hands of her Excellency President of India. Prize money comprises of Rs. 25,000 cash, silver medal and certificate. CBSE SSC result 2011:
The Central board of secondary education yesterday announced its result for SSC 2011 exam on its website. Jalgaon district’s schools have shown phenomenal results with 95% passing percentage. Rustomjie international School based student Vaibhav Pradeep Bhosale secured first rank in exam with 97.08% followed by Gunjan Ganesh Patil from same school securing 97.06% as second and St. Joseph school student Mokshada Hemant Mahajan and Komal Premshankar Agrawal securing third rank with 97%. Jalgaon city’s 326 students from 4 CBSE affiliated schools appeared for exam and all have succeeded in good scoring.
Chalisgaon based Sanjivani Walmik Rajput has secured 100% marks in the exam from St. Joseph English secondary School Chalisgaon and has topped in whole Khandesh. Jalgaon, Bhusawal, Chalisgaon and Nandurbar based CBSE affiliated schools have shown 100% passing result in this year.
Monday’s cyclonic winds damages banana worth Rs. 2 Crores:
Monday, 30th May ran cyclonic winds have badly affected standing banana crop in Hingona of Yaval Tahsil in around 125 hectares standing crop area. It also took off shelters of many temporary shades and the total losses have mount to Rs. 2 Crores as per government officials estimates. Farmers have demanded administration’s immediate attention to issue and are looking for flat grants of around Rs. 50,000 per acre to assist on this. The assessment further reports damages more than 50% ratio to 138 farmers wherein below 50% ratio farmers are just 23.
Bhusawal’s Nagesh Kharare wins bronze in boxing:
Bhusawal based Nagesh Arjun Kharare has won bronze medal in 44th national youth boxing competition in 56kg category conducted at Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh. He was amongst 12 boxers from State and was only one to achieve the medal. With this he has now qualified in national team for international competition and would soon participate in practise and training sessions.
