30th April:
Grains festival in Jalgaon from 08th May:

State agricultural department and ZP jointly conducted first grains festival is being inaugurated in Jalgaon from 08th May at G. S. ground Jalgaon. The project aims at availing direct selling avenues to farmers for their produces thereby availing best profits. It would have all types of grains, foods, fruits, vegetables and processed foods around 60 stalls. This would avail a good buying opportunity as well for those stocking grains for the whole year.

MHT-CET exam on 12th May:
State conducted medal, engineering and pharmacy joint entrance exam MHT-CET 2011 is being conducted on 12th May. There are 9,826 students appearing from Jalgaon at 28 centres and this includes 5,055 for MB group, 1,314 for BB group and 3,457 for MM group. Please refer DTE for detailed centre-wise information.

National level karate competition from 01st May:
District amateur Karate association is conducting 3 days 7th national level Karate competition. The competition has received participation of 25 State based around 1,200 players and Jalgaon has received this proud of conducting the event for second consecutive year. Event begins with black belt gradation and referee clinic on 01st May and is at district sports complex.

29th April:
Mercury continue to sizzle – 3 more killed:

Jalgaon and Dhule districts both recorded one death each following intense summer heat since last week. Nandurbar also reported one death two days back. Jalgaon recorded 44.5 degrees yesterday wherein Bhusawal and Raver had 44 degrees, Yaval – 43, Dhule and Faizpur – 42 degrees.

Jalgaon’s Trupti Tayade wins gold in taekwondo:
Jalgaon based Trupti Tayade has won gold medal in national inter-school taekwondo competition for second consecutive year. She accompanied Raver based Sardar J. J. High School student Jayesh Baviksar winning bronze. Maharashtra won 23 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze medals in competition and secured top position. Trupti participated in under-19 year 43-46kgs weight category competition.

28th April:
Mercury intense further – Bhusawal at 45 degrees:

Bhusawal city yesterday recorded 45 degrees on scale followed by Jalgaon with 43.3, Nandurbar with 43.5, Faizpur with 43 degrees and Dhule, Raver and Pal having 42 degrees on the scale. Continued rising temperature has discomforted life here and alert signs on health front.

Khandesh drama competition from 03rd May at Bhusawal:
The Utkarsha Kalavishkar organisation conducted second Khandesh drama competition is being conducted from 03rd until 05th May at Bhusawal. The event is being organised at Central Railway’s Krishna Chandra Hall and will have various plays like ‘रात्रंदिन आम्हा, वस्तू, व्हॉट नॆक्स्ट?’ play performances from various organisations during event.

Kolhe Nagar Night Riders win JPL competition:
Talent Search sports Academy conducted first Jalgaon premier league T-20 tennis ball cricket competition ended yesterday with Kolhe Nagar Night Riders defeating Rameshwar Colony Chargers in finals by 31 runs. Team player Akshay Kolhe won man of the match and man of the series award.
Rameshwar Colony won the toss and fielded first. Kolhe Nagar scored 180/7 in designated 20 overs and this had 39 from Akshay Kolhe, 35 from Vijay Mahajan, 34 from Bappan Samanto and 20 runs from Rohit Patil. It bowled out Rameshwar Colony Chargers on 149 runs in 19.4 overs. Rohit Patil took 4 and Faizan Shaikh took 3 wickets. Tushar Bhusare won best batsman, Abhijit Randhe won best bowler and Vijay Mahajan won best wicket keeper award.

27th April:
Silver drops by Rs. 5,000 in a single day:

The shining silver witnessed sharp decline of Rs. 5,000 per kilogram in a single day yesterday taking it down to Rs. 72,000 per kg in Jalgaon markets. Silver having touched its lifetime highest of Rs. 77,000 per kg witnessed sudden downfall.

Mercury sizzles at 43.1 degrees:
Jalgaon city witnessed season’s highest temperature yesterday with mercury crossing 43 degrees mark yesterday in Jalgaon city and Dhule recording 42.6 degrees. This led to almost no traffic during peak afternoon time and had intense heat stroke till late evening time.

Aurangabad bench approves Vasant Sugar factory sales:
The JDCC Bank initiated selling process of Vasant co-operative sugar factory has been approved by Aurangabad bench of Mumbai high court. The Raval group owned Jaiganga factory has offered Rs. 37.35 Crores for this factory and court has availed time until 13th June for payment of the same. This transaction has raised hopes of Vasant sugar factory region farmers on restarting of factory in coming season.
Buying group has shown its ambitious plan of extending factory’s capacity to 5,000 metric tonnes a day along with 100,000 litres distillery from current 30,000 litres a day and generating 20MW electricity as bye-product.
Fire in Maharashtra State Electricity generation Company DeepNagar plan:
The Deepnagar based Maharashtra State Electricity Generation Company’s thermal power station extended unit caught sudden fire yesterday in cooling tower section based PVC fill. The cooling water pump controlled the fire. Authorities have estimated losses worth Rs. 70 Lakhs and would need around 10-15 days to normalise the unit.

Jalgaon premier league competition – Rameshwar Colony Chargers and Kolhe Nagar in finals:
Talent search academy conducted on-going Jalgaon premier league T-20 cricket competition yesterday witnessed strong tussle in semis in various times. The Kolhe Nagar Night Riders defeated Mahabal Royals wherein Rameshwar Colony Chargers defeated Shivaji Nagar Super kings to enter in finals to be played on today. Rameshwar Colony Charger player Tushar Bhusar scored first century of JPL and was man of the match along with Akshay Kolhe from Kolhe Nagar team.

26th April:
Ground water levels dip down in few Tahsil:

The State ground water department recent survey has reported sharp decline in water levels in Bodwad, Chopda and Dharangaon tahsil. Bodwad water levels have fallen by 1.65 meter, Chopda by 0.84m and Dharangaon by 0.10 meters. This survey inputs and values are on base averages of last 5 years data for survey conducted every year in March. District had water shortages in around 150 villages and it has reported likely 168 villages in coming summer.
Jalgaon district has 66 irrigable zones and this includes 7 too developed, 2 developed, 17 partially developed and 40 zones as conserved ones having less than 40% water drifting. Jalgaon Taluka current water level is 1.41 meters wherein Amalner is on lowest with water 9.76meters below ground level.

Mercury teases to 42.7 degrees in Jalgaon:
Jalgaon recorded whole Maharashtra’s highest temperature on scale yesterday with mercury touching 42.7 degrees yesterday. This led to extreme heat waves during peak noon time making harsh impact on routine daily activities.

District’s 12 council reservation draw on 30th April:
Jalgaon district’s 12 municipal council reservation draw is being conducted on 30th April. Central government has approved 50% reservation to women and this would lead to 50% ladies faces in these elections. This includes Bhusawal, Amalner, Chalisgaon, Chopda, Pachora, Parola, Dharangaon, Erandol, Yaval, Raver, Savda and Faizpur term election likely in November 2011.

Jalgaon to have Anti-terrorist squad special unit:
State home ministry has announced its decision to setup special anti-terrorist squad in Jalgaon district on grounds of Jalgaon being host of various illegal, anti-national activities of terrorist outfit SIMI. The cell will have 6 members and Police Inspector functional in align with district Police. Jalgaon police around 10 years ago exposed and attacked large number of SIMI activist in Jalgaon and district has been marked as very sensitive in State records.

Silver rates shoot up – physical deliveries getting queued:

The gold city fame Jalgaon is in most discussion these days with its jewellery market witnessing strong rise in prices of various precious metals. As a result of such a hefty rise, silver has become one of key attractions of short term investors. Silver creates another record:

Silver is marking continuous rise since last month has now touched another milestone in its rates aspect. It has crossed Rs. 75,500 per kg mark today. Gold still remains on the same position.

Summer’s best gift from State – Electricity load shedding eases in region:

Jalgaon district always having a neglected note in reference to basic amenities has a reason to rejoice this summer. The last summer’s intense load shedding along with zero load experience is still alive in everyone’s mind. This summer until now has seen best of electricity availability and regular load shedding has also been considerably reduced. This lowering has benefited region’s overall productivity and has helped in keeping summer woes in control.

Silver crosses Rs. 73,000 per kg mark:
Silver continues to set new trends and record high rates. It shot up by Rs. 2,200 per kilogram yesterday to reach new high of Rs. 73,000 per kilogram in retail markets. Gold rose by 400 Rs. To reach Rs. 22,700 per 10gms in Jalgaon markets yesterday. Rising buying pressure and international level increase are major reasons of continuous increase in prices.

Talent search academy conducted Jalgaon premier league T-20 cricket competition day-2 yesterday witnessed fabulous response and matches in under-16 category on Sane Guruji ground on Mahabal road on leather ball. The world roll ball skating competition ended yesterday with Denmark defeating host Indian team in finals by 3-2. Belarus secured third rank by defeating Nepal by 15-1. Indian team qualified for finals by defeating Nepal by 15-2 in semis. Denmark’s proactive play and dominated attacks kept Indian team in tight control. Indian team comprised of Jalgaon’s Bharat Patil.

22nd April:
Silver makes new records – Crosses Rs. 70,000 per kg mark:

The precious metal segment is jumping rapidly with every rising day. Silver marking continuous rise since last month has now touched another milestone in its rates aspect. It shot up by Rs. 1,900 per kg yesterday to touch lifetime high of Rs. 70,800 per kilogram. Silver opened at 68,200 yesterday and marked strong demands to that of inflow causing a steep jump. Gold remained as a silent mover and touched Rs. 22,600 per 10gms in Jalgaon market yesterday.

Chalisgaon city to get Girana dam water soon:
Chalisgaon city’s rising population and drinking water needs considered proposal for laying new supply pipelines from its nearest Girana dam has been approved by State government on technical aspect. The 80 Crores cost based new project would link 38kms distance based Girana dam water to Chalisgaon city and this would considerably improve city supplies. Chalisgaon currently gets 35years old Rahipuri water supply station supply which receives water via Mehunbare from Girana dam. Council would also introduce new water storage tanks through Central Government 4 Crores fund.

Talent search sports academy conducted under-16 Jalgaon premier league T-20 cricket competition begun yesterday in Jalgaon. The inaugural day matches had Shivaji Nagar Super Kings defeating Ayodhya Nagar daredevils by 2 runs. Team player Nikhil Shukla won man of the match award. Competition today has Kings Eleven Pimprala versus Rameshwar Colony Royal Challengers in morning session beginning at 6.30am, Kolhe Nagar night riders versus Mahabal Royal at 11am and Mehrun Indians versus Rameshwar Colony Deccan Chargers at 3pm.

Chalisgaon wrestler Vijay Chaudhari wins State competition at Pune:
Bhairavnath Maruti temple trust and Sutarwadi villagers jointly organised State level wrestling competition yesterday witnessed Saygaon (Chalisgaon) based Vijay Chaudhari defeating his counterpart from Kolhapur in mere 8 minutes of beginning of the competition. This is Vijay’s third victory on State level.

21st April:
District likely to witness chemical fertilisers shortage in this season:

Jalgaon district authorities have received 3.34 Lakh tonnes of chemical fertilisers for upcoming Kharip season to that of its demanded 425,000 tonnes. This includes more than half slashed supply of most demanded 10:26:26 mixed fertiliser. This is likely to cause artificial shortage of urea and mixed fertilisers during the season. District witnessed shortage of these fertilisers in last year as well and had supplies of 342,000 tonnes last year from State.

Pachora People’s Bank earns 1.15 Crores:
Pachora People’s co-operative bank has announced net profit of 1.15 Crores during the last financial year. Bank has announced 10% dividend to its shareholders and had 3.48 Crores share capital by this year end. Bank had total turnover of 2,225 Crores in last year with 1.37% NPA ratio. It has earlier opened Jalgaon branch and now plans opening up at Chalisgaon and Parola shortly.

20th April:
Heat waves claims first victim in Jalgaon:

The harsh summer heat signs are clear and worsening with every rising day. Summer 2011 took its first victim yesterday in whole State in Jalgaon city with 17 years old girl from Pimprala dying with excessive heat. Mercury was at 42.5 degrees yesterday in city and this death has raised alert levels in Khandesh. District administration has urged citizens to take best possible precautions and staying away from excessive heat during peak times. Civil hospital has setup heat control room since last week and has urged citizens to take assistance as required.

Administration initiates Hatnur dam new gates:
Hatnur dam authorities have initiated construction of 8 new gates for the day along with existing 41 gates. The new gates are 1.5 meters lesser than current gates and are rectangular in shape. These gates would ease outflow of stored sand and dust inside base area during peak flooding in monsoon. The State government appointed Gole committee report has recommended acquisition of more land for construction of 10 new gates of size 12x6.5 meters and also recommended rehabilitation of 13 villages to be affected with this new construction. The recommendations sent in 1999 have been applied now and have budget of 46.57 Crores and would be executed by Tapi irrigation development Corporation.

Maharashtra football team training camp in Jalgaon from 21st April:
The State football team to participate in National women football competition from 25th April until 17th May at Bhilai is practising in Jalgaon from tomorrow. The training camp would begin with team selection first and later training for the competition.

19th April:
Jalgaon airport project – authorities sends proposal for acquisition of more land:

Jalgaon district administration has sent proposal of requirement of additional 15 hectares land for Jalgaon airport work to State government. Jalgaon airport currently has 43 hectares land and the AAI initiated work is in full pace for possible commercial landing in December 2011. The proposed additional land is towards passenger facilitation and likely services.

State home ministry proposes Police Commissionerate for Jalgaon:
State home ministry seeing rising criminal offenses, lower resources to manage and secure region and maintaining Law and Order situation in Jalgaon has planned to setup Police commissioner office in Jalgaon. The proposed commissionerate will have 20kms range under its limits and will include Bhusawal city, Jamner based Gadegaon and Jalgaon Taluka based Mhsavad and Paldhi police along with Jalgaon Taluka police station in its periphery. District Police has sent its proposal to Mumbai and this is likely to be approved on Solapur pattern for introduction of separate commissioner office.
This proposed initiating will divide Jalgaon district’s police control in two zones namely Commissionerate and Jalgaon rural as two divisions. New office will get separate Police Commissioner, Officers and staffing and same way Jalgaon rural will also have separate resources. Jalgaon’s largest boundary area covering Jilha Peth Police station is most likely to be divided in two parts with introduction of Pimprala police station shortly.

Corporation general body meeting review:
Jalgaon city municipal corporation general body met yesterday to discuss various topics on its agenda. Body discussed drinking water supplies issues in old Jalgaon area and various 12 storage tanks being used for supplies. Body also discussed need of house taxes collection ratio improvement from current 60% to 90% by applying various means. Meanwhile Corporation has issued work order for reinstating the city bus service through new tendering party.

National taekwondo competition – Jalgaon players selected:
Jalgaon based Trupti Tayade, Komal Mahajan and Jayesh Baviskar have been selected in State team for State association conducted national inter-school taekwondo competition from 22nd until 25th April. The competition has under-14, 17 and 19 years category. Jalgaon players include Trupti having won gold medal last year in the same event.

18th April:
Khandesh’s sugar factories produces 12.50 Lakh quintal sugar in this seaons:

Khandesh region’s this season sugarcane processing is almost ending. Region’s 5 co-operative sugar factories have processed 1,287,586 tonnes of sugarcane and produced 1,255,268 quintal of sugar by now. The Navapur and Shahada factories have closed this season processing wherein Chopda, Faizpur and Shirpur are still processing their available sugarcane. The Navapur factory is on top in terms of yield with 10.28% average yields. Madhukar has been on top of sugar production with 356,050 quintals produces wherein Navapur was on bottom with 201,380 quintals sugar.

Patnadevi Chaitra festivity from today:
The Patnadevi temple trust organised annual Chaitra festivity is beginning today and has various religious enchanting and programmes on the eve. It includes महापुजन, अभिषॆक, सत्यनारायण पुजन, सप्तशतीपाठ today and has wrestling competition followed by Rath festivity on 19th April.

17th April:
Mercury intense further with sizzling heat strokes:

Jalgaon district yesterday witnessed another strong rising of temperature with mercury moving towards 43 degrees zone. Jalgaon city and Bhusawal yesterday recorded 42.5 degrees wherein Raver had 42 degrees and Faizpur had 40.5 degrees. Sudden increase in temperature since last week is now leading to lower turnaround of people during peak afternoon time.
Jalgaon city had 48.2 degrees last year on 20th May, 49.2 degrees on 29th April 2009 and 47.5 degrees on 27th May 2008 as last 3 years highest temperature recorded.

Rajwad (Amalner) receives Saint Tukaram Vangram award:
Maharashtra State forestry department conducted annual Saint Tukaram Vangram State level award for the year has been announced to Rajwad (Amalner). The prize distribution ceremony is on 22nd April. The award comprises of Rs. 15 Lakhs cash, memento and certificates. It evaluates the award on basis of village’s joint activities with State in forestry management and encourages more of public participation in the reference.

NMU Vice Chancellor selection process initiates:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon current Vice Chancellor tenure is ending in August and the administrative level efforts have begun for selection process. The interviews for VC post are usually conducted in July end and the committee comprises of one member each from State governor appointment, NMU management council, UGC, IIT and Central Human Resource development ministry and is formed in May. All nominations received until June end are considered for the post and interviews are initiated in the next phase.
The NMU management council has recommended Saurav Paul (IIT Kolkata), Dr. Yadav Hyderabad, Dr. Damodhar Acharya (IIT Kharagpur) for the post and most likely selection will any one of these nominees as they had good stay in Maharashtra.

Bhusawal players selected in Santosh Trophy football training camp:
Bhusawal based Javier Devy and Shahbaj Najeer have been selected in State team to participate in 65th National Santosh trophy football competition to be played in Assam from 06th until 23rd May. The team would undergo training camp in Mumbai from 18th April.

Jalgaon’s 6 shooting ball players selected for national competition:
Jalgaon district’s 6 players from under-17 and under-19 category have been selected in State team for upcoming national competition from 21st until 24th April at Indore. The team members qualified from Jalgaon’s victory on Solapur in State level selection match in senior category. This includes Charudatta Wagh (Chopda), Akash Patil (Jamthi), Dnyaneshwar Gayakwad (Amalner), Pooja Patil (Jamthi), Millind Kank (Faizpur), Mohsin Khan(Jamner) along with Umanulla Khan as standby player.

16th April:
Tussle on water division in State:

Maharashtra State government has issued an ordinance banning storing and blocking River water in Kolhapur type dam in North Maharashtra region’s 5 Rivers. The order bans blocking water from Girana, Mausam (Malegaon), Aram (Baglan, Nashik), Panjhra and Kan (Dhule) Rivers. This may impact farmers on the River basin areas not being able to utilise the River water for irrigation purposes and increase their dependence on water lifting from Governmental sources.
The State Government decision on this reference has come to assure industrial sector of ample water availability in State for setting up new industries. Jalgaon district’s lifeline Waghur dam has over 60% water reservation for industrial use. The newly starting electricity distribution Company project at Deep Nagar has equal demands of raising this level. The dam is still availing only drinking water supplies to Jalgaon city and has not benefited agricultural segment yet. The order has prioritise water division with highest level for drinking followed by industrial use and then agriculture and has also ended the water resources tribunal water distribution rights and compels farmers to follow with no legal battle allowed on all decisions in the reference.

Silver and gold touches historic high rates:
The precious metals segment yesterday marked historic high jump to achieve highest of 31 years rates. Gold touched Rs. 22,250 in Jalgaon markets wherein Silver closed at Rs. 65,000 per kg yesterday. The April month has marked sharp rise of around Rs. 7,000 per kg in silver rates.

Mercury intense to 42 degree levels:

Dharangaon Tahsil sports complex inauguration today:

District parent minister is inaugurating Dharangaon Taluka sports complex construction works process today. The sports complex is located on Chopda road in front of ITI. Complex has 1.18 Crores budget funding from State and would have around 5 acres based facilities for 400 meters running track, indoor hall, Kho-Kho, Kabbadi, Volleyball and Basketball grounds and would take around 2 year time span for completion.

District administration disqualifies over 43,000 rationing cards:
Jalgaon district administration supplies department in its annual drive to check disqualifying and non-eligible rationing card holders. The drive has turned down 42,933 card holders out of around 875,911 current holders in whole district. The below poverty line and Antyodaya scheme card holders are separately issued with cards. It has also disqualified 407 BPL card holders and 35 Antyodaya card holders.

Corporation plans to shift Transport Nagar on Asoda Road:

Jalgaon city municipal corporation in its efforts to ease city traffic condition has announced doing two major changes in reservations. It has announced moving vegetables market in Subhash Chowk and Polan Peth to MIDC based transport Nagar area and move current Transport Nagar on Asoda road by putting special truck terminus reservation through acquisition of private land on Asoda Road.
Current city traffic conditions have worsened with sharp rise of two-wheelers and four wheelers in the city. Vegetable market spread has covered most of areas of Dana Bazaar area, Polan Peth, Subhash chowk major area and as a result these roads have turned of no use for traffic. Corporation general body is meeting on Monday, 18th April to take this and other developmental aspects on its agenda.

Government job craze – district administration receives overflowing response:
Jalgaon district administration has received more than 15 gunny bags full of application forms for its recently floated vacancy for 106 posts of Talathi in district. The recruitment drive for this post turned in trouble since last 18 months following various legal aspects and has been reintroduced. Last date of filling of forms is 20th April and administration is receiving large number of applications through post. The same post last recruitment drive floated had around 32,000 applications for mere 77 posts. Administration would scrutinise these applications from 21st April.

Banana touches Rs. 1,600 per quintal at Burhanpur:
Raver Taluka’s banana yesterday touched historic high of Rs. 1,600 per quintal marking it to be one of the highest rate ever achieved in MP markets. Raver market yesterday recorded Rs. 1,121 per quintal with Rs. 24 as difference factor.

NMU announces time table for various exams:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has announced time table for various examinations for the academic year. Exams would start from 22nd April for M.A. economics, sociology, philosophy, Hindi, English, History and Master’s in communications first year (semester pattern) and would end on 30th April. M.A. defence exam would begin on 20th April. Library science and information technology related papers are from 15th April, M.A. social science is from 18th until 28th, B.Ed. from 18th until 30th and M.Ed. from 18th until 29th April.

JDCC Bank announces 750 Crores crop loan target:

Jalgaon district’s apex co-operative bank JDCC bank has announced its highest ever target of Rs. 750 Crores crop loans for this year. This year’s crop loan policy would avail loan to all farmers having paid due outstanding till 31st March and would cover turmeric, ginger and few other crops as well. Bank has reported recoveries of around 65% in last year and had target of 650 Crores last year. It has also announced extending loan limits for onion, Papaya, and many other grains and crops to facilitate farmers. Extension includes availing Rs. 25,000 per hectare for cotton, Rs. 30,000 for onion and Rs. 25,000 for papaya.

Silver continues upward trend: Crosses Rs. 62,000 per kg:

The precious metals segment continues to witness rising trend with silver marking one of major leap of Rs. 1,700 per kg rise in a single day yesterday. Silver touched its record high of Rs. 62,500 yesterday from earlier day close of Rs. 60,800. Gold also marked shining and has closed at Rs. 22,000 per 10gms.

Mercury intense and crosses 40 degrees:

Jalgaon district has received approval of 333,900 metric tons of chemical fertilisers for upcoming Kharip cultivation from State authorities. District has 823,000 hectares land under cultivation in Kharip and this largely includes cotton and banana as two most favoured crops. District agricultural department had submitted request of 407,000 metric tons to avoid last year alike sudden shortages during peak requirement.

Rs. 1,200 Crores based electricity generation unit at Nardana:
Maharashtra Industrial development Corporation has in principal approved Shirpur Power Company’s proposal for setting up 85 hectares based 1,200 Crores cost electricity generation unit at Nardana of Dhule district. The unit would produce around 300 acres of electricity per day. Key attraction of Nardana land of MIDC is having Nardana-Surat railway line to bring coal for power generation along with Mumbai-Agra four lane national Highway. Authorities are in process of execution of papers for the same.

Corporation review meeting on reinstating city transport service:
Jalgaon city municipal corporation transportation committee is meeting on Monday to discuss on reinstating the city bus service earlier ran in name of JMTU. The fresh tender received by Corporation has offers of Rs. 400 per bus per month royalty to Corporation and would have 25 new buses initially. It would pay Rs. 400 additional royalty as it gets extended permission to continue bus service in 20kms boundary and aims to start service within 3 months of receiving the order. General body would meet on 18th to discuss various projects in run.

Central railways Bhusawal division earns 310 Crores:
Central Railways Bhusawal division has earned 310.39 Crores from passenger traffic in financial year 2010-11. This earning is from 6.29 Crore passengers (19.52 Lakh passengers more than last year) having used this division’s railways as preference and is around 26 Crores more than last year earnings. Division comprises of 77 railway stations on main line, 8 on Chalisgaon to Dhule route, 2 on Ankai and Ankai fort route, 11 on Murtizapur to Achalpur route, 16 on Murtizapur to Yavatmal route, 6 on Pachora to Jamner route and 1 on Jalamb to Khamgaon.

Unseasoned raining in district:
The Bhusawal Tahsil, Raver Tapi River region, Muktai Nagar and Bodwad  areas yesterday witnessed unseasoned sudden raining in afternoon. The raining was in medium showering form and continued for around 10 minutes. Raver Taluka also had raining on Wednesday night for around 15 minutes. Climate remained cloudy, humid throughout day yesterday.

Administration initiates election preparations:
Jalgaon district administration has initiated preparations for 12 council and ZP, Panchayat committee elections due in coming time. The State Election commission reviewed preparations in this reference. District’s 12 council’s tenure is ending on 24th December wherein ZP elections are due in March-2012.

District RTO review report:
Jalgaon district road transport office has recorded hefty rise in its revenue collection for financial year ended. The department has recorded inflow of 44,225 new vehicles in Jalgaon district and has collected revenue of 1.27 Crores in form of professional tax, 66 Lakhs in form of environmental tax, 80.94 Lakhs in form of choice number charges, 29.31 Lakhs from illegal trafficking of sand and 2.21 Crores revenue from flying squad in various operations.

Sugar economics 2010-11 – a quick review:

Khandesh region’s sugar factories having initiated boiler processing have availed good yields in the season. Madhukar co-operative factory is ending its processing on 15th April and has produced 341,925 sugar bags by processing 346,735 metric tons of sugarcane.
Chopda sugar factory has produced 227,135 quintal sugar in this season by processing 233,797 metric tonnes sugarcane with average yield of 9.87% and has also produced 18.38 Lakh electricity units as bye product.
Nandurbar based Satpuda has ended its processing on 06th April and has produced 236,350 quintal of sugar wherein the Dokare factory has 194,480 quintals of sugar in this season.

Co-operative department distributes 49 Crores deposits, 34.52 Crores still lying:
State co-operative department has distributed 49.95 Crores deposits of various co-operative depositors in the financial year 2010-11 under State soft loan for societies. The balance fund of 34.52 Crores received from State is yet to be distributed from total of 83.56 Crores fund received in 5 phases by district administration.
State funded soft loan caps returning deposits within 50,000 from 133 co-operative societies having locked down due to various reasons and has special priority to widowed, handicapped and below poverty line depositors.

Banana jumps to Rs. 1,255 per quintal:

District’s banana continues to witness rising curve on pricing front amidst festivity around. It recorded hefty rise of Rs. 36 to jump at record new wholesale price of Rs. 1,255 per quintal at Raver market. Lower inflow of yield in markets in whole Khandesh is key reason and various festivity and fasts have added to demand. Kandebag banana touched 1,219 with Rs. 24 difference and Pilbaug touched 1,095 with Rs. 20 difference.

State to avail 80% subsidy to women owners for irrigation in Bodwad project area:
Maharashtra State government has announced availing 80% aid/ subsidy to Bodwad project irrigation scheme beneficiaries having women as primary owner in the agricultural land and having name in 7/12 statement. The project was inaugurated last year by hands of her Excellency President of India and has special provision of 80% funding from Centre and 50 Crores from State. This decision would benefit farmers in Jalgaon, Bodwad, Jamner, Muktainagar and Buldhana based Motala and Malkapur Taluka farmers.

District democracy day – 148 complaints received:
Jalgaon district Collectorate conducted monthly democracy day received 148 complaints which included co-operative department on top with 87 complaints. Rest included 28 from revenue department, 16 for ZP CEO Office, 5 for Police, 2 for MSEDC, 1 from council, 4 from land records office and 5 other complaints. Corporation democracy day yesterday received 40 complaints.

Jalgaon Corporation’s development plan gets red signal from Centre:

Jalgaon city development plan is awaiting approval since last two years. In spite of the fact that State has technically approved the project, Centre has restricted Corporations not to send the proposals for consideration. Centre’s decision has come amidst non-utilisation of such development funds in time span and has ordered to utilise the grants first and not to send projects till this time.
Corporation’s much talked and politically sold 2,100 Crores cost based city development plan had 80% fund plan from Centre and rest 20% from State. This proposal’s first part having 221 Crores new drinking water supplies line laying and 156 Crores based drainage pipes work have received State approval. Local MLC and Central political pressure could only ease and get the proposed development in track.
Rapid growth in city in last few years has exposed Corporation’s city planning. City road traffic has turned out of control, largely increasing accidents, lack of roads and infrastructural facilities, ample drinking water, electricity still remains key challenges for Corporation.

Raver Matran project inaugurated:
Matran medium sized project aiming to avail direct pipe lines based water supplies to farmers rather current open flowing canal based water was inaugurated yesterday. The project targets around 500 hectares land and is one of unique attempts to increase irrigable land watering by double at estimated cost of Rs. 4 Crores. It would connect pipe lines of around 13.50kms to benefit Raver, Munjalwadi and Khiroda based agricultural land and the project location being on Satpuda hills would also ease farmers to get water without electricity.

Rifle shooting camp from 15th April:
District rifle association and Ajanta Rifle club are organising one week rifle shooting camp in Jalgaon from 15th until 21st April followed by district level shooting competition from 21st until 24th April. Camp will have national level trainers guidance and competition has three groups namely A for national level players, B for State level and C for beginner category. It would qualify shooters in peep site air rifle category for State and then national competition.

Jalgaon wins on Hingoli by one inning:
Jalgaonboys have defeated Hingoli in the on-going under-19 MCA invited inter-district cricket competition yesterday by 48 runs and one inning in their second league match at Aurangabad. Jalgaon bowlers Rahul Nimbhore marked exceptional bowling taking 8 wickets along with Nikhil Patil taking 6 wickets. Jalgaon now has 6 points in its score with bonus point earning from this match. North Maharashtra region’s only scheduled bank Jalgaon Janta Bank has recorded hefty deposits of 641 Crores in financial year 2010-11 with a net rise of 18% and has achieved 5.50 Crores net profit pre-taxation. Bank has disbursed loans worth Rs. 445 Crores and has 0% NPA. It currently has 29 branches and has plan to start Pune branch in May, Jalna branch in August.

Jalgaon receives honour of Saibaba Rath preparation:
Shirdi Sai Baba’s native place Pathari (Parbhani) based Sai Baba memorial committee has availed Rath preparation, decoration work to Jalgaon based Om Sai Mitra Mandal. This Rath would go to Pathari on 07th April and this will accompany Mandal’s member in bare foot procession till the end.  The Rath being made is octagon in shape as that of Pathari temple and has high quality wooden finishing, carving and designing along with two eagles on front side. Rath has dimensions of 44 feet vertical height, 12 feet height and 8 feet width and has 4x3 feet brass Asanam for Sai Baba idol setup.
Ancient literature suggests Sai Baba coming to Jalgaon in 1904-05 to assist his devoted fellow Baba Bapugir Buva to take him from Jalgaon to Jamner and also to bless another devotee Nanasaheb Chandorkar from Jamner by sending Prasadam.

District co-operative department initiates attaching properties of BoD of co-operatives:
District’s co-operative movement in dwelled stage is attempting a minor recovery here. Co-operative department has initiated attaching properties of the board of directors of the societies having fallen in financial woes. The effort includes stamping district administration name as property co-owner thereby banning its further sale and allowing administration to auction the same further to collect the losses. Administration has also urged depositors to avail property information of such directors to rapidly take the process ahead. Noteworthy aspect is district co-operative movement has trapped around 800 Crores of medium/ small savings in form of deposits.

Jalgaon people’s bank post 5.85 Crores profit:
Jalgaon’s growing people’s co-operative bank has posted net profit of 5.85 Crores in financial year 2010-11, a net rise of 2.06 Crores to that of last year earnings. Bank has recorded 16.05% growth in deposits and its annual turnover reached 1,074 Crores with 644 Crores deposits and has turned State’s only co-operative bank to have profits in 68 consecutive years and has NPA of mere 1.94%. It has proposed 6 new branches in year 2011-12 which would be Nashik, Kalyan, Washi, Panvel, Sangvi(Pune) and Chopda. It also plans to link account access through State’s other ATM by tying up with card bankers.

02nd April:
District population rises by 14%:

Jalgaon district’s census has rose by hefty 14.5% and has reached 42.20 Lakhs as per year 2011 census reports. The year 2010 census begun in district last year and has almost completed the processing work. As per the new census, there are 22 Lakhs male and 20 Lakh female citizens in Jalgaon district.

Corporation achieves LBT tax revenues equal to Octroi:
The much experimented local body tax would finally complete its one year of implementation and Corporation has good times on it with this revenue reaching Octroi that too with lowest hassle for traders. Corporation has received revenue of Rs. 45 Crores until February 2011 end and other additional streams like escorts fee, 1% cess on property registration franking and State grants/ aid for the compensation of this loss have totalled it to Rs. 68 Crores in the span until now. Corporation earlier had around 70 Crores Octroi revenue estimate and achieving 68 Crores from 7,269 LBT registered dealers has eased its streams.

State approves textile cluster at Shirpur:
Maharashtra State government has approved State’s first Dhule district based textile cluster development. This would lead good industrial boost in the Tahsil and would avail inflow of around 124 new textile units to avail the benefits. The proposed project has fibre to fabric processing and manufacturing cluster and would soon begin the construction work. State would avail 15 Crores special fund for development of the cluster.
Shirpur currently has around 124 power looms in small and medium size. The good cotton yields of district would add to benefit of these looms and cluster. Project would have setup at 10kms distance from Shirpur on Chopda road. 01st April:
District council goes green – applies solar electricity generation to its admin buildings:
Jalgaon district council in its electricity saving and non-conventional energy resources promoting drive has planned setup of around 1Crores cost based solar power electricity generation unit for its administrative buildings. This unit would produce 750watts of electricity and aims to save around 25-30% of cost in diesel procurement for power generator. This unit has been planned to setup at its building roofs and would help most of the building fans, lights, computers and printer operation.

JDCC bank approves selling of Vasant and Mahajan mills:
Jalgaon district central co-operative bank board of directors meeting has approved selling up of J. T. Mahajan ginning mill and Vasant co-operative sugar factory. Board yesterday approved 27 topics on its agenda. It would conduct whole selling process in accordance and verdict by Aurangabad bench of Mumbai high court. Bank has received tender offer of Rs. 54.30 Crores for Vasant factory.
