31st March:
State woes - Announces Cess at Jalgaon and Octroi at Dhule:

Maharashtra State government yesterday announced a U-turn decision by allowing continuation of Octroi tax at 13 out of 16 D category Corporation including Dhule. It has excluded Jalgaon, Aurangabad and Meera - Bhaynder Corporations from this and has announced Cess implementation in these Corporations from 01st April.
Government further marks this local body tax collection process as experiment for 3 months and would rethink on same in case this collection is lesser than Octroi collection of equivalent period. Sudden stand change and mixed experimental approach has made trade community in rage along with its sudden VAT rise from 4% to 5%. Real practical essence for Government would have been full cancelling of Octroi and making VAT at 5% as what neighbouring States have done and business is greatly flourishing there.

Khandesh's 177 Colleges based 646 Professors gets NET-SET relaxation:
University Grant Commission has announced offering relaxation to 646 professors in NMU affiliated 177 Colleges. This tussle continued 18 years following difference of opinion in State and Central commissions. This includes 224 in Jalgaon, 235 in Dhule and 195 in Nandurbar districts.

30th March:
JDCC Bank approves Vaidyanathan committee recommendations:

Jalgaon district Central Co-operative Bank general body has approved Vaidyanathan committee recommendation of making change in its bye-law. It has also approved complete interest waiver to lift irrigation societies and rescheduling of Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation loan term/ payments. Body has also approved 550 Crores crop loan availability for upcoming Kharip season. This is 100 Crores (20%) additional to last year's 450 Crores. This loan would be availed at 12% interest.

Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation to initiate daily drinking water from 01st April:
Jalgaon city municipal Corporation is initiating one of its historic achievements by starting daily drinking water supplies in city from 01st April 2010. This decision is amidst ample water availability in Waghur dam.

29th March:
Burhanpur gets tissue culture project approval:

Jalgaon district bordering Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh has received approval of 65 Lakhs fund for setting up tissue culture project. The banana producers' society handling this project has received 38 Lakhs fund for it and would complete project in next 18 months. Burhanpur is located on banks of Tapi River and banana is a major crop here also. This project would enhance quality of produces and would also get State's subsidised electricity at 90 Paise per unit. Burhanpur has 300-400 trucks daily outflow of banana to various markets.

Shiragad deity festivity begins today:

The Saptashringi deity temple at Shiragad in Yaval Taluka is conducting annual festivity on eve of Chaitra Chaturdashi and Pornima. Many followers who could not visit Vani main fort for deity Darshanam take blessings here. This temple is located on confluence of Tapi and Manki River in centre of Kolnhavi and Shiragad villages on a hill. It is known as mini and second most important temple for completing religious and traditional processions.

District administration March end fund allocation in troubles:
Jalgaon district administration and its counterpart governmental agencies have a fix here with non-receipt of around 30 Crores of district development fund as per annual allocation. There are just 3 days remaining for financial year completion and this find yet to come and then getting distributed has raise triggered at administration levels. The other 5 Crores allocation of backward communities development is also in pending mode. Administration has claimed to make maximum possible efforts to get this fund and utilise it in same year. Current situation is likely to have this fund going back on account of no utilisation.
District’s MLA local area development fund of 25 Lakhs each for every MLA in district is also yet to come. Government approved this fund in January 2010. This fund has time limits of utilisation until June 2010.

District agricultural department initiate Kharip planning:
Jalgaon district agricultural department has initiated its preparations for upcoming Kharip crop cultivation planning. It estimates increase in cotton area to 5.50 Lakh hectares. It has planned to get more seeds and fertilisers on basis of this rise of around 1 Lakh hectare addition. Farmers received Rs. 3,100 to Rs. 3,250 per quintal rate for cotton and this too was mostly sold in cash to private traders. This is likely to encourage them more for increase in productivity.

27th March:
Centre orders transfers of State highways to National authorities:

Central Government surface transport ministry has issued notification to various State governments to transfer their maintained 14,799kms based 105 highways. This includes 2,124kms based 14 highways from Maharashtra. Proposed highways to be transferred are Amravati - Dhule - Gujarat (450kms) based NH6 and Dhule - Aurangabad (140kms) highway# 211 from Khandesh region. This has raised hopes of citizens of international standards of roads along with hefty safety measures. National Highways authorities of India would be new sole in-charge of these highways. It would considerably improve development and approval time of new works and requirements as well.

Corporation Cess tax department to function from today:
Jalgaon city municipal corporation has setup its administration separate department to initiate local body tax collection with effect from 01st April 2010. The new taxing would replace existing Octroi tax and has compulsory registration requirement for more than Rs. 1 Lakh turnover traders. There are 34 staffing with 6 assessment officers for this collection. Corporation has announced same Octroi based rates for this tax. However the earlier Escort fees levied for transit vehicles would continue the same way.

Amoda - Gadhoda deity festivity:
Adishakti Ekvira deity festivity is beginning at Amoda Bk on 28th March along with Bhavani deity festivity in Gadhoda on 29th March. This festivity has ancient tradition of centuries. Both Deity are sisters and it is said that they appeared in these villages. Festivity has various religious events and activities on both days.

26th March:
Maharashtra Budget 2010 - provisions for Khandesh:

Maharashtra Budget 2010 has faded Jalgaon's growth vision ahead with no special provisions and has provisioned opening up a new government medical college at Nandurbar, increasing electricity production capacity of Bhusawal thermal power station, special fund for Akkalpada (Nandurbar), Toranmal development fund and setting up electricity production unit at Dondaicha. Amongst other minor inclusions are Jalgaon included in Rajiv Gandhi Jivandayi scheme for farmers. There is no special allocation for any new industrial/ educational, infrastructural facilities in Jalgaon. It has allocated 402 Crores for Tapi irrigation development works to that of demanded 1,091 Crores. Also earlier announced Khandesh development package and private land acquisition compensation funds have no allocation in this budget.

NMU present its annual budget at 96 Crores:
Khandesh region's educational hub North Maharashtra University has presented its annual budget 2010-11 yesterday. This budget of 96 Crores 126,000 was approved by senate yesterday. Budget has 7.99 Crores deficit. Amongst key provisions include starting up of B. E. Computers Course in NMU at 75 Lakhs, M. Tech. in Chemistry, B. Tech (nano), Post graduate diploma in actuarial science (5 years) each with allocation of 8 Lakhs, 12 Lakhs for management studies department, 5 Lakhs for languages and literature department.
It has approved setting up new 5 study centres on Dr. Ambedkar, Shivaji Maharaj, Child poet Thombre, Bahinabai Chaudhari and Sane Guruji in NMU campus. It expects revenue collection of 13.50 Lakhs in exams, Rs. 43.50 Lakhs in student welfare and 81 Lakhs in sports developments and has allocation of 9.79 Crores for exam conducts, 205.40 Lakhs for student welfare and 1.10 Crores for sports activities.

District civil hospital setup heat remedy centre:
Jalgaon district civil hospital has setup special unit to take care of heat waves affected patients. Mercury above 40 degrees in last 8-10 days has spread uneasiness in citizens and this centre would take care of the same. Health authorities have further urged to care in heat using protection measures, drinking more water and liquid materials.

Jalgaon wins on Pune by 8 wickets:
Jalgaon boys heroic performance in under-19 MCA invited cricket competition continued yesterday with team defeating Pune based Ambitious Academy by 8 wickets at Shirpur. Jalgaon's bowler Chandan Ranve took total 12 wickets in this 2 days match. Jalgaon has won all 3 matches by now and has scored 14 points and fourth match is on 27th and 28th March against YMCA Pune. Ambitious academy scored mere 95 runs in first inning and Jalgaon took 47 runs lead to score 142 runs in first inning. In response Pune academy could score on 131 in second inning giving 87 runs target to Jalgaon. Jalgaon boys scored this target in loss of mere 2 wickets.

Guru-Pushya Muhurat today - Jalgaon jewellers to witness shining trade today:

Jalgaon's renowned Jewellers have good times today with one of unique Guru-Pushyamrut Muhurat today. This Muhurat is treated as one of most auspicious Muhurat for buying precious things including jewellery and other stuff. Today's gold rate is likely to be Rs. 17,100 per 10gms where silver is in 29,000 per kg zone.

Salestax department collects 373 Crores VAT tax in Jalgaon:
Maharashtra salestax department Dhule divisional office comprising of Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar districts has collected whopping 372 Crores of VAT tax in 2009-10 until 20th February 2010. Division was setup on 01st May 2007 and this is third consecutive year of 100% target achievement for the division. Jalgaon tops in this stats in whole division. This has faded earlier recessionary talks and is likely to boost further.

CCI to end cotton buying by 31st March:
State sponsored cotton buying is ending on 31st march 2010. Buying started in November 2009 and evoked medium to low response following large private buying. Private buyers paid more Price for cotton from farmers.

NMU annual budget today:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon administration would present its annual budget for 2010-11 today in senate meeting. NMU presented its 9.63 Crores deficit budget last year and this budget is likely to have student focussed development and offering infrastructural funding to affiliated colleges as key focus.

District Associations demands stoppage of various superfast trains:
Jalgaon district's various association yesterday met central railways divisional manager in Bhusawal and submitted its various railways related request for consideration. This includes enhancements in amenities in Jalgaon railway station as per model station ideals, availing VIP quota to superfast trains to facilitate urgent needs, immediate refund of cancellation of reserved but not utilised tickets. Request includes availing stoppage to various Superfast trains towards Pune, Howrah, Kerala and Nanded, adding two additional sleeper coaches in Surat bound passengers and adding more general coaches in Maharashtra express for commuters.

Rahul turns first Commercial Pilot from Jalgaon:
Jalgaon's Rahul Arora has become first commercial pilot from Jalgaon district. He has completed his S.S.C. from St. Joseph Convent High School and B.Com from M.J, College and then opted for an adventurous career of commercial Pilot.
He has completed pilot training from Sydney, Australia, and has commercial pilot license since November 2009 from Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). He now wishes to fly for Indian Airlines and would soon appear ATPL training course in the same field. Team EJalgaon.com wishes him all the best for best of future endeavours.

Traders confederation strike turns successful:

Jalgaon district trader confederation announced a day protest strike against VAT rate increase has evoked 100% response yesterday. District major trade zones like Dana Bazaar, Fule market, and agricultural produces marketing committees along with Taluka level trade places remained closed. Association has shown its preparedness for further agitation and indefinite strike if State does not withdraw this change. Associations from whole State would meet on 27th March in Mumbai to discuss this further.

Savda Swaminaryan temple moving towards centennial celebration:
Shree Swmi Narayan Temple at Savda in Jalgaon district has completed 96 years and is moving towards its centennial celebrations. Temple is classic architectural creation in Saurashtra style and took 3 years span to complete in 1914. Temple trust is conducting various programmes of this eve today. Community's second temple at Amalner was consecrated in 1996 and trust here also has various programmes on this eve.

Proposed president tour likely to change face of Nadgaon:
The Nadgaon village in Bodwad Taluka, hometown of Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil is likely to witness a booster with district administration planning to implement ideal village style to it on eve of Her visit. President is likely to visit Bodwad on 07th May during Jalgaon tour. Proposed amenities for this village would include setting up 30 acres based garden on Amadgaon road, including Bhairavnath temple in pilgrimage places development programme, mega pandal near Buddha Vihar, solar lamps in whole village, public toilets for gents and ladies and above all concrete roads development in whole village. President's last visit boosted Jalgaon city's development from administration and this visit is likely to trigger this further.

23rd March:
District traders confederation announces protest strike against VAT:
Jalgaon district traders confederation has announced a day protest strike today against State's decision to raise VAT from 4% to 5% from coming financial year. All member associations of this confederation have supported the strike. Dozing state is yet to announce it's decision on likely implementation and legal perspective of this tax rise. As a result Jalgaon city is likely to witness no trade and business transaction in major trade zones.
Primary communication and idea behind government tax rise was claimed to be neighbouring States collecting 5% VAT. However State administration as well political powers have failed to understand that neighbouring States do not have Octroi tax and Cess kind of traders' dilemmas.

Jalgaon shares State's 16% of cotton production:
Jalgaon district widely known for its banana produces has second agricultural achievement. It is State's only largest cotton producing area having more than 16% of production annually to that of whole State. District has 458,000 hectares of cotton irrigable land and has produced around 11 Lakh bales of cotton in this season. Jalgaon witnesses around 600 Crores annual turnover in cotton sold by farmers and producers to State and private ginning factories.

District summer intensity to rise this year:
Jalgaon district's much known drastic summer heat is likely to turn to heat waves in this season. March mid has shown immense heat in last week and this factor is rising with every day. Region has 40 - 42 degree centigrade temperature in March middle and early statistics reveal the same in mid-April. This could most likely take Jalgaon mercury scale to new high of 48+ degrees in coming April and May months.

Jalgaon wins hockey tournament:
Jalgaon district has won hockey match tournament after a span of 49 years in recently conducted inter-district hockey tournament by Vidarbha hockey association and Gondia district association at Nagpur. Nagpur won runner up award in the competition. Jalgaon team has been participating in this competition since 1961 and won this for first time. Jalgaon player Shamim Beg scored 6 goals and its player Aslam Tadvi won man of the tournament award.

State grain traders announces strike against VAT:
Maharashtra State grain traders confederation has announced a day protest strike against VAT following State government's sudden non-practical approach of increasing VAT rate of 4% to 5% on major commonly used essentials and alike items. A day strike is on Tuesday, 23rd March and it quotes indefinite strike if State attempts to keep in non-responsive way. Jalgaon district Traders confederation is meeting today to discuss its stand on opposition and would announce the same after meeting.

Jalgaon Corporation complete 7 years today:
Jalgaon city municipal Corporation is completing 7 years of its establishment today. Corporation was notified by State on 21st March 2003 and was converted to Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation from existing Jalgaon municipal council. City administration has 150 years of golden history. Gaining Jalgaonities confidence, boosting development of trade and industrial areas and surviving with creative approach amidst financial woes are few of critical states for Corporation. Amongst other much needed aspects include Civic centre, underground drainage systems, roads development in city and water woes free city.

Wakod candidate shines in MPSC exam:
Wakod (Jamner) based Dharmendra Joshi has secured sixth rank throughout State in open category in State public services commissioner conducted exam for 652 posts of Police sub-inspector. Jalgaon's another candidate Hemant Bendale secured seventh rank in OBC category. Succeeding candidates list includes 22 from Jalgaon district along with two from Bhusawal. This includes Shubhangi Suryawanshi, Nilesh Lodi, Sunanda Patil, Archana Patil, Nivrutti Borade, Nitin Wankhede, Priya Bagul, Digambar Patil and Vishal Sonawane.

Pulse polio vaccination today:
Jalgaon district is undergoing national pulse polio vaccination drive today. Corporation area has set up of 180 booths and aims to vaccinate 59,713 children in its area. It would then move to transit camp for in-house and moving areas for maximum utilisation and achievement of pulse polio vaccination.

20th March:
Harsh summer experience at its drastic stage:
Jalgaon region is in deadly summer feeling these days. Since beginning of this week there is intense summer heat during peak hours in afternoon. Mercury is rising rapidly and is above 40 degree centigrade since last 3 days. Yesterday it has recorded new high of 44.5 degrees and minimum of 24 degrees marking restlessness in evening and heat till late nights. Increased heat has raised drinking water shortage at 55 villages in district by now. These villages are on tanker water supplies.

State Electricity distribution Company shifts Electricity production unit to Songir:
Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company has moved its 3 out of 5 proposed State's second largest electricity production units to Songir to that of earlier planned Dondaicha in Dhule district. This decision was following farmer's protest to avail land to Company for the project. Proposed unit has 660MW of electricity production target. Company would set up rest two units in unopposed areas at Dondaicha. It has initiated full pace preparations for the start of project.

Indian Dental association State convention in Jalgaon:
Indian Dental Association Jalgaon branch is conducting its State convention in Jalgaon from 21st March at Jain Hills. The two days convention would have participation of around 150 members from across State. It would have various lectures on Aesthetic and Cosmetic dental surgery, dental implant, root canal and various other latest technologies.

19th March:
State reserves decision on VAT rates increase:
Maharashtra State government following protest from opposition and finding itself in legal woes, has decided to hold this VAT tax rate increase to 5% from existing 4%. State Sales tax department notified this change of tax from 01st April 10 days before State convention on budget which is against right of the house and not as per VAT rules. State drawn this on 16th February and has earlier made same attempt to increase VAT on clothes and sugar. Opposition along with citizens marked this decision to be against VAT Laws and no way trade friendly.

District co-operative depositors to get 8 Crores deposits refund from today:
Jalgaon district's co-operative depositors have a reason to rejoice. District co-operative department has initiated refunding process from today at Taluka level. Taluka co-operative deputy registrar along with district authorities would have observation on this process. District co-operative department has sent list of co-operative depositors in Jalgaon for State's soft loan based aid. Department has received 7.96 Crores in first phase and there are 9,873 co-operative eligible for this partial refund.

Jalgaon wins under-19 cricket competition versus Pune:
Jalgaon boys have won Maharashtra Cricket Association conducted under-19 cricket competition against P. Y. C. Gymkhana team Pune on basis of its first inning lead. The Pune team bat first and scored 213 runs. Jalgaon team's Nikhil Patil took 6 wickets along with Ghanshyam Chaudhari taking 3 wickets. In reply, Jalgaon scored 123 runs on loss of a wicket at day end and took this to 278 runs. This included Shashank Attarde scoring valuable 57 runs. Jalgaon won competition on basis of first inning lead.

Summer intensity rises - mercury goes above 40:
Jalgaonities have real harsh times these days with beginning and continuous rising of mercury in recent week. Mercury yesterday touched 43.1 degree centigrade just at March mid. This has raised triggers for region of intense summer heating and heat wave ahead in peak summer time. It would equal raise water woes for region.

Jalgaon district council present its annual budget 2010-11:
Jalgaon district council and its allied Panchayat committee administration presented its surplus based annual budget 2010-11.The 10.50 Crores annual budget has earnings of 4 Crores 75 Lakhs in form of local cess, increased cess, government grants, franking aid and cess on water taxes. It expects around 2 Crores 91 Lakhs expenditure for various heads which includes 64.35 Lakhs towards honorarium to office bearers, ZP members, 4.02 Crores for rural water supplies, Vidya Niketan, animal husbandry, social forestry etc.
Jalgaon's traditional Ram Navami festivity begins at Lord Rama temple:
Jalgaon's old city area based Lord Rama temple trust is conducting its annual Ram Navami festivity in city. Lord Rama is rural deity of region and this temple celebrates the Ram Navami eve every year by organising various religious enchanting, worshipping and related activities.

Sindhi community Jalgaonities gets A/1 extract:
Sindhi community Jalgaon based residents residing in Jalgaon since last 60 years have now received A/1 extract from district administration. These extracts were distributed on eve of Chetri Chand festivity yesterday. Government availed large number of houses to Sindhi community migrants from Pakistan after last war. The current Sindhi Colony is one of such area having most of community members. Government's earlier mark for this property was group B property and hence no transaction was allowed. This extract would now enable them to transact this property with ownership rights.

'Shree 2010' Body building competition at Pachora:
Anand Hospital Pachora is conducting health awareness spreading 'Shree 2010' body building competition at Pachora on 28th March from 5PM onwards at M. M. College ground. Competition has 0-55, 56-60, 61-55, 66kg weight categories and attracts first, second, third, fourth and fifth prizes in form of cash and trophy. It also has moving trophy with Rs. 2,001 cash prize along with individual prizes like best poser, most improved body builder award each at Rs. 501.

State taxation woes begins - increases VAT rate from 4% to 5% from 01st April:
Maharashtra State Government amidst its continued unplanned taxing measures has announced unified increased of existing rate of 4% VAT tax on schedule-c items to 5% with effect from 01st April 2010. It's earlier planned and much talked easing inflation woes and means just remains a paper flux for citizens.
Schedule-C has most of essential commodities like grains, daily eatables, agricultural produces, computer related products, stationery and many general and most wide used items. This has given direct rise of cost in markets by coming financial year beginning. Traders have marked this move from State as pathetic and anti-trade. Corporation general body meeting review:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation General body met yesterday to discuss various issues in process. Amongst major discussion was urging administration to withdraw earlier Commissioner filed FIR against Corporation few of existing and ex-members. It also approved unanimous resolution to cancel State proposed transfer of existing Corporation Commissioner and continue his tenure for next financial year. Body also approved 10% discount on due house taxes with industrial area citizens and industries. It has also approved 10% discount to B. J. Market residential block owners for taxes due. It also approved availing Mehrun based city survey# 343 land to Go-Shala.

Bhadgaon Municipal council president election:
Bhadgaon municipal council's first president and deputy election process completed yesterday. Shivsena candidate Shashikant Yeole won the honour of being first President of council along with Shahar Vikas Aghadhi candidate Arjun Bag elected as deputy. Shivsena's second candidate filling his nomination for the same remained absent in the process. Election process had 17 out of 18 members present. Shivsena member won 12 out of 17 votes. Majority victory and first time election have raised citizens' hope of good growth in Taluka with administration aligned approach.

Police recruitment drive written test result today:
Jalgaon district police recruitment drive's written test exam result would be announced today after 4pm. Interviewing process would begin from Wednesday, 17th march. In all 1,515 candidates appeared for the written exam. There are 57 female candidates for 30 posts wherein male posts had 8 candidates for one job ratio. Exam had 60 marks for subject specific questions along with 15 marks essay.

Jalgaon boys have defeated Pune Under-19 team in MCA organised competition at Nashik by 81 runs. Jalgaon team captain Shashank Attarde scored 111 runs and took 3 wickets in first and 6 wickets in second inning. Pune scored 153 runs in first inning and in response Jalgaon scored 360/8 taking 207 runs lead. Jalgaon bowled out Pune on 128 runs and has scored 6 points in bonus. Corporation general body special meeting on Monday:
Jalgaon city municipal Corporation general body is meeting on Monday to discuss various topics on its agenda. This on top includes withdrawal of complaint lodged against 90 ex and current Corporators on alleged involvement in earlier Jalgaon municipal Council's housing project. District Police has completed its investigation and is now waiting for Soni committee report on the same. The committee consist of 11 member panel. Earlier Commissioner has filed this complaint on 02nd February 2006 and has reported mishandling of 29 Crores 59 Lakhs fund in the project. Unanimous approval of resolution to withdraw this complaint could further result in legal complexities and would equally attract State decision on the same.

Sudden raining damages crops in 1800 hectares land:
Jalgaon district witnessing sudden snowing and raining has faced jolt. Most of ready to pluck crop in around 1,800 hectares agricultural area has damaged. Amalner and Chalisgaon Taluka were on top of list with administration assessment still continues. This raining has harsh Rubby crop in around 36 villages in Amalner Taluka and 24 in Chalisgaon Taluka.

Jalgaon Police recruitment drive - written exam eligible candidates list today:
Jalgaon district police conducted recruitment drive has entered into final phases with final listing of written test eligible candidates to be published today. Authorities have conducted ground tests of 3,850 candidates in 6 days having 3,547 male and 303 female candidates. The eligibility ratio of candidates to available post has now turned to 1:15 i.e. 15 candidates for one job. Written test is on Monday, 15th March, 7AM at Police parade ground.

Deep Nagar BTPS faces switchyard discrepancies:
Deep nagar based Bhusawal thermal power station unit yesterday witnessed technical fault in switchyard unit causing no electricity production since Saturday morning 6.45AM. This has led to 245MW electricity product losses. This was caused by short circuit and had tripped unit-1 and unit-3 sets. Both units have now normalised. Bhusawal city most of areas are not having electricity since last 3 days.

Jalgaon Corporation area witnesses large number of new construction requests:

Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation has received and approved large number of land construction and development proposals in this financial year. Jalgaon city now has 15 meters height permission for residential buildings (five-storied) wherein commercial developments can be up to 24 meters height (eight floors) . Construction rules now includes road and waste outflow construction by developers as compulsory needs and betterment charges are not levied in replacement to this provision to be made by themselves. Corporation has approved 1,206 building development plans in this financial year as compared to last year's 883 plans.

Lightning and raining woes life:
Jalgaon district continued to witness rain showering, snowing and lightning effect yesterday at mayn locations. Jamner Taluka has reported lightning killing 3 workers including a lady in a farm and injured one. It has also injured 7 in Chalisgaon. District administration has issued orders to assess losses caused due to snowing and sudden raining. Neighbouring Dhule also had snowing yesterday. Jalgaon city's many areas witnessed showering in afternoon around 1.30PM. Meteorological department has estimated more raining in next two days.

Satpuda mega recharge scheme survey in final steps:
The proposed Satpuda mega recharge scheme being discussed in region since last 5 years is in final state of surveys. Administration is likely to complete this survey by April end and would then send proposal to State and Central authorities. The project is under Tapi irrigation Development Corporation and would benefit 7 districts base 5 Lakh hectares agricultural land. Project has around 700kms span of land covered and would require around 1,000 hectare land acquisition. It aims to enhance ground water levels from Amravati to Khandwa, Burhanpur, Jalgaon and Dhule districts.

Raining destructs Amalner and Sakegaon crops:

Amalner and Sakegaon in Bhusawal witnessed sudden snowing yesterday evening around 7.30PM. Snowing was of small diamond like shape. This has impacted about to pluck wheat, gram and allied crops. Bhusawal region has electricity woes following this and there is no electricity in many towns and rural here since last 22 hours. Lightning injured 3 in Pimpalgaon Kh (Varangaon) yesterday evening. Chopda region also had reports of snowing and showering at many locations.

Khandesh not to get benefit of State electricity distribution Company proposed load-shedding free district headquarters:
Maharashtra State electricity distribution Company Ltd proposed load shedding free district head quarter scheme has polite exclusion to Khandesh's all 3 districts namely Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar. It has termed this benefit for all district headquarters having less than 42 Percentage of electricity distribution losses. Jalgaon has 48%, Dhule has 43% and Nandurbar has 48% electricity distribution losses. Proposal would be heard by MERC on 25th March. Company has earlier implemented this module in Nagpur, Amravati, Pune, Washi, Thane and Aurangabad having major revenue sources since December 2009. Neighbouring Nashik earlier excluded from this plan has now been entered into with additional surcharge of 51 Paise on current tariff. Jalgaonities dream of being electricity woes free still remains down in spite of having large political presentation.

Bhadgaon council president election on 15th March:
District administration has announced Bhadgaon Municipal Council president election schedule. Process begun yesterday with nomination filling and last date is 13th March for the same. This would follow scrutiny on 14th march and election on 15th March. Until now Shivsena has taken 4 and NCP has taken one nomination form.

NMU announces examination in three sessions:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has announced its exam time schedule for this academic year. This is first time it is conducting exam in three sessions. Proposed time table has 8AM to 6PM based exam sessions for various streams. Earlier schedules had 10AM to 1PM and 2PM to 5PM based exams. This year early morning exams are for second, third year Science. During 11-2, 3-6 other Classes exams would be conducted.
Students and faculty members have expressed rage on this time table formed and have termed it as just another means of hurried completion of exam. Also multiple papers in a day would result in double appearance of exam for students having ATKT or carry on. Hence students have immediately demanded change of time table with purview of practical situation.

Whole Jalgaon district yesterday witnessed sudden unseasoned raining begun after 7pm. This has led to damages to standing ready to pluck wheat and other crops. Region's many areas power service got disrupt following wind flow along with raining. Banana's first consignment with 84 wagons shipped towards Delhi:
District's banana producers had a time to rejoice yesterday for shipping first ever 84 wagons consignment towards Delhi after span of 45 days. This consignment has been shipped with 34 wagons from Savda, 30 from Raver and 20 from Nimbhora. This outflow has now resulted in per quintal rate by 20 Rupees and wholesale rate has touched to Rs. 670 per quintal. Banana producers have enhanced their ready to use banana following upcoming festive seasons in northern India.

Council president post reservations announced:
Maharashtra state urban development ministry has drawn lot for reservation of various 87 municipal council president post reservations. This includes 6 OBC reservations including newly formed Bhadgaon council in Jalgaon along with Amalner and Dharangaon reserved for women candidate. Recent Bhadgaon election had Shivsena winning 7, NCP winning 5, MNS winning 2 and 4 independents. This reservation has now triggered president election.

BJP's State convention in Jalgaon:
Bharatiya Janta Party State unit's annual convention is being conducted in Jalgaon from 02nd until 04th April 2010. This would likely have arrival of party's national leaders. Meet would have election of State unit head along with various district related posts. Authorities expect participation of around 5,000 office bearers in the event. Amongst other discussion topics include discussion on women reservation bill and arrive at decision to urge phased implementation of this reservation with 5% hike every year.

Police recruitment drive - 372 candidates qualify for written test:
Jalgaon district Police recruitment drive ground tests begun yesterday. Out of 560 candidates having appeared on day-1 for physical tests, 372 have qualified for written test round. In all 848 where called and 47 remained absent here and 197 candidates disqualified in abdominal and height eligibility aspects. Physical ground tests included 100 meters, 800 meters racing, full ups, long jump etc. Today 863 candidates would undergo this test.

NMU Gymkhana day celebrations:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon celebrated its annual gymkhana day yesterday. Dhule based Z. B. Patil College won first along with P. O. Nahata College Bhusawal player Sachin Patil winning best player award. Prize distribution ceremony had Arjun Award winner Monika Bakre as chief guest. This award was on basis of year 2009-10 achievements of NMU affiliated colleges.
Amongst other 8 topper colleges include Rashtriya College Chalisgaon, Pratap College Amalner, G. T. Explosion voice panics Satpuda hills region:
The Bijasani Devi temple region in Palasner (Shirpur, Dhule) and Dongargaon (Sendhva, Badwani Madhya Pradesh) and its around 40kms periphery region witnessed sudden huge explosion voice around 2.05PM in afternoon yesterday. Explosion was so severe that it was heard for over 3 minutes and this zones almost all villages heard this clearly. This triggered both Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh administrations and both authorities started intensive searches for reasons. However both did not found any conclusions yet. Most likely coming 24/48 hours would give clear view of incidence in background.

Jalgaon city municipal Corporation commissioner transferred:
Maharashtra State government has issued ordered to transfer existing Corporation Commissioner to Kalyan - Dombivali. Jalgaon district Collectorate would remain official in-charge for the post until appointment of new Commissioner. Corporation is yet to receive any order in this reference yet.

Jalgaon district is on hot list of being State's only district with lowest male-female ratio of mere 810 female to 1,000 males. State approves Mehrun lake renovation project worth 6.65 Crore:
Maharashtra State government has approved 6.65 Crores budgeted Jalgaon city based Mehrun lake renovating and revamp project. Proposal has been prepared by Corporation and major factors include increasing depth of lake for water storage, developing jogging park through periphery, boating, fountains and towers for birds watching. It also includes construction of Nala for waste water outflow of this lake from Gopalpura ot Mamurabad railway crossing. Project would now go to central government agencies further for final nod and move ahead.

Police recruitment drive today in Khandesh:
Khandesh's all district headquarters of police are flooded with candidates having applied for interviews. There are in all 278 posts combined in Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar and around 13,000 candidates have applied for it. This includes 100 in Jalgaon, 122 in Dhule and 56 in Nandurbar along with 70 State reserved Police force posts. Jalgaon has 7,778 candidates for 100 posts. Process begins with physical fitness check on 09th March at Police multipurpose hall.
Process has 20 tables, special group of intelligence control, 6 cameras and video shooting of whole processing, mobiles banned and no entry for relatives of candidates.

Jalgaon administration to start national unique identity card issuing process from April:

Jalgaon district would witness start of national level census 2011 and unique national identity card issue from 01st April 2010. Corporation Commissioner has been assigned with Chief census officer role for the same. Jalgaon city has 719 blocks and 132 supervisors for the process and would have two-step implementation. First phase will have detailed information on every citizen, his/ her lifestyle and total 35 aspects and same would be recorded in books. Second  step will have physical counting followed by thumb impression recording for all individuals above 15 years of age for issue of cards.

Fertilisers demand picks up following price rise:
Chemical fertilisers are in full swing demand following possible rise in pricing from 01st April 2010 following budget implication. As a result railway wagons containing fertilisers are ending just on arrival. Companies have reported around 10 Crores sales in this month. Budget would raise urea by Rs. 25 per bag while DAP and mixed fertilisers would also rise. Farmers pre-buying for coming season in planned manner have lifted upcoming season good productivity hopes.

Railways to restart banana wagon shipment from 10th March:
Central Railways Bhusawal division stations Raver, Savda and Nimbhora would see normalised outflow of railway wagons carrying banana yields. This transportation went down and was stopped two months ago following very less to no demand. Northern India witnessing cold wave in December dropped demands significantly and this continued in January also. Banana rate dropped down by Rs. 70 per quintal in last week.

District chess training centre inauguration today:
District chess association is inaugurating its chess training centre at district sports complex today. Centre aims at training and popularising chess game in school students. It would offer free training to all school students.

Corporation plans for Mission-2011:
Jalgaon city municipal Corporation has set ambitious plan to complete road concreting, waste flow management estimated at around 50 Crores. It has allocated 25 Crores for this project in this budget. Plan includes completion of all main roads and its sub-link roads by 2011. Other plans include city hospital by Corporation, introducing sweeping machines for dust-free roads, construction of housing complexes and Mehrun Lake Chowpaty development. Key constraint to this plan is its degrading financial state and ability to get work done with speed and at fullest.

05th March:
Administration looks forward for land for government offices:
District's Chopda and Jamner councils administrative building and service complex have received 13 Crores special grant from State. But this grant is still unutilised following non-availability of land for them. Proposed single window services administrative building would have Tahsil office, deputy registrar, Panchayat office, agricultural and co-operative department offices and State has offered all Tahsils to send proposal to process and move ahead.
Both Jamner and Chopda are not having government land in city areas 2kms periphery and as a result government has to buy private land which would cost thrice of its own land. Proposed fund is for construction only and if private land is taken, funding would be needed. Hence now these offices have started search for land donors as a charity means and then move ahead. This is strange begging of government agencies in name of being government.

District public libraries annual convention on Sunday:
Jalgaon district Public library and V. V. Library jointly conducted annual convention of all libraries in district is being conducted on Sunday, 07th March at V. V. Library Hall. Event has various topics of mutual interest, discussion on pay scales for Library Sevak and their service regularity, discussion on retirement and pension as per committee recommendations, demanding more grants for libraries. It would have participation of all libraries in Khandesh and its office bearers and would have wide spread discussions on various issues faced on library management.

District gets 8 Crores fund for reimbursement to co-operative depositors:
Jalgaon district has received 7 Crores 96 Lakhs 29,000 fund from State under Khandesh Package towards reimbursement to co-operative societies depositors. This package was soft loan supplement to co-operative societies in region and would benefit 7,328 depositors. Department would avail this fund to depositors on Monday, 08th March.

Padmalaya development plan of 10.50 Crores:
Lord Ganesha's pious pilgrimage and historic place Padmalaya temple's renovation works 10.50 Crores development plan has been prepared. Temple's proposed plan was presented during Khandesh festival along with temple's lively replica. Plan has no alteration in temple's main building and has proposal to use Nevasa and Paithan skilled labours to execute this work. It also has proposal to clean up lake in front of temple, construction of over bridge and small window on eastern side for Lord Ganesha Darshanam. Plan includes 15 feet wide road on all sides of lake, solar lights and 6 acres based musical fountain, garden, children's playing amenities and lawn and Amphi theatre.
It would also set up Govind Maharaj statue, lodging facilities for devotees, shopping complex and temporary shops as well. Mega welcome gate on both Jalgaon and Erandol road would also be constructed. Proposed plan would take 3 years to complete and is fully funded by Jain Charities.

SSC 2010 exam begins today - Best of Luck to all Students:
Maharashtra State board of secondary and higher secondary education conducted SSC 2010 exam is beginning today throughout State. This exam has 101,361 students in Khandesh which includes 56,961 from Jalgaon, around 27,000 from Dhule and 17,400 from Nandurbar districts. North Maharashtra University department of chemical technology undertaken research project 'Development and Formulation of sustain release Nano particles of some diabetics drugs' has received Central Government Department of Science and Technology grant of Rs. 30 Lakhs. Project aims at complete eradication of diabetes through research on diabetes through use of Nano technology. Project is of 3 years span and has 3 doctorate professors participation.

Mercury heats up - touches 41 degrees in Bhusawal:
Intense summer season ahead signals are clearly visible these days in whole region. It has gone up to 41 degree centigrade yesterday from 34 degrees in just a week time. Jalgaon city also has same state with continuous rise seen. Jalgaon yesterday had 38 degree centigrade temperature recorded. This has led to increased heat during peak afternoon hours and discomfort.
Rising summer like heat has also led to decrease in dam water storage levels. Administration has ordered creating of 32 well and has announced action plan for 309 villages likely to face water shortage this summer. Region's main reservoir Girana dam has touched 32.90% mark wherein rest are at zeroing levels.

State extends local development fund utilisation limits till 30th June:
Maharashtra State government has extended MLA local development fund utilisation limits from existing 31st March to 30th June 2010. State has availed Rs. 25 Lakhs each to district's 11 MLA. Financial year ending has raised speed of formal completion of pending works. District planning and development committee has set Rs. 106 Crores annual budget for 2009-10 and has reported utilisation of 85% of this budget. A few of widely done works include construction of concrete slabs on Nala on road crossings in almost all wards through Corporation development fund.

01st & 02nd March:
Sugarcane processing for the season ends at 4 factories:
Lower inflow of sugarcane, lesser labour availability has ended sugarcane processing in premature state in both Madhkuar and Chopda factories. District has 6 sugar factories and out of this, 4 are already closed due to financially weaken state. Chopda factory operated for 110 days and Madhukar Faizpur operated for 87 days in this season. Both factories availed around Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 2,100 rate. Madhukar Faizpur processed 190,000 tons of sugarcane which include 50,000 from outside its existing area.

State sports competition - Jalgaon and Dhule plays shine:
Medisports state level medical field sporting competition ended yesterday in Jalgaon with host team winning most of prizes. This followed Nashik, Parbhani and Dhule districts winning second and Beed winning third position. Competition was hosted in Jalgaon for first time and evoked fabulous response from whole State medical practitioners.

Erandol to Padmalaya Khandesh Marathon 'Run for Health':
Khandesh level Run for Health marathon 2010 competition ended yesterday with Savalram Shinde Nashik securing first, Shyam Pawar Jalgaon wins second and Yogesh Rajendra Jadhav (Bhadgaon) getting third rank. Competition had first prize of Rs. 10,000, second prize of Rs. 7,000 and third prize of Rs. 3,000. Dhule's Manisha More won girls category competition. It had participation of around 3,000 athletes and started in Erandol. Competition also had senior's category men and women participation.
