31st October:
District administration cuts 20% drinking water supplies:

Jalgaon district administration has issued immediate 20% reduction in drinking water supplies to villages and places on banks of Girana dam following lower storage levels in this season. District's 167 villages and Jalgaon, Chalisgaon and Pachora municipal areas are on Girana dam for drinking water supplies. Administration is likely to reduce special releases of Rubby season.

NMU proposes video conferencing services on taluka levels:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has proposed availing video conferencing services on its Dhule and Nandurbar sub-centres to benefit students. It also aims at taking this further to taluka level to encourage studies. It has send Rs. 80 Crores proposal to University Grant Commission in this reference. Its first phase deployment has Jalgaon and Dhule based Mahatma Gandhi Philosophical studies centre and Nandurbar centre for video conferencing on its expense. It has already initiated experimental mode for this project in Rajiv Gandhi philosophical centre in its headquarter at Jalgaon. NMU administration has sent request letter to Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil for availing special concern on this to benefit whole Khandesh region in education.

Civil hospital receives 9 swine flu doubtful cases:
Jalgaon district civil hospital yesterday registered 9 swine flu symptoms alike cases. This includes a year boy and 8 years old girl, six men and a lady. Fall in temperature has added to these cases. It has reported 62 malaria, 64 dengue, 5 swine flu and 2 chicken gunia patients by now.

Rath festivity celebrated amidst huge devotees participation:

137-years rich traditional culture of rural deity of Jalgaon Lord Rama was observed yesterday. Rath festivity had huge gathering of devotees for Darshanam. City witnessed 'Mini Diwali' alike rejoice in houses by lightening of Lamps and celebrations on eve of Kartiki Ekadashi.

Farmers get Rs. 3,100 per quintal rate for cotton:
Agricultural produces marketing committee Amalner has initiated auction basis sales of cotton by farmers. Farmers got Rs. 2,800 to Rs. 3,100 per quintal rate on inaugural day. Committee sales cotton on open auction basis since last 3 years and this early initiating of buying prior to CCI announcement has eased farmers.

Vasundhara international film festival ends today:
Club Vasundhara initiative and Rotary club, Indian Architects association and Ecology school jointly organised three days international Vasundhara film festival ends today amidst cheerful participation. Today's presentation and info documentaries include We changing planet earth, In the Water, Angles of tiger land, victims of garbage dump and shores of silence. Student special documentaries include Ganpati Bappa Morya, the Lions of Gir, Planet Earth and Caves to end with.

1 Lakh hectare target for Rubby season:
District agricultural department has setup ambitious target of 1 Lakh hectare cultivation in Rubby season. It has begun distribution of seeds grant. This target includes Jwar on 32,300 hectares, wheat on 30,000 hectares and green chickpea on 36,700 hectares land. Farmers are favouring more of Green chickpea as most liked cultivation. Jamner, MuktaiNagar and Bodwad taluka had lower raining this season and this would impact productivity here. This season crop insurance has Chalisgaon taluka on top along with Amalner evoking good response.

Jalgaon Janta Bank gets RBI grade-1 and approval for opening State-wide branches:
Northern Maharashtra's fast growing Jalgaon Janta co-operative Bank has received RBI approval for extending its work areas to whole of Maharashtra. It has allocated grade-1 status to bank based on its audit. Bank has scheduled bank status along with co-operative audit grade A and has 27 branches with 485 Crores deposits and 266 Crores loans and 2.97% NPA.

Region's 137 years traditional Lord Rama Rath festivity today in Jalgaon:

Lord Rama temple trust conducted 137 years traditional Kartiki Ekadashi special Rath festivity would be observed today in Jalgaon. This is 138th year of this festivity and it would go through Jalgaon city area in evening and ends by night 11PM at temple. Festivity began in 1872 in Jalgaon.

Mercury dips down - reaches to 10.8 degrees:
Region is witnessing sharp decline in temperature in recent week. Mercury has fallen down by 3-6 degrees in last few days and as a result there is frosting chill in late nights and early morning. Jalgaon yesterday had 10.8 degree centigrade temperature - one of lowest in whole State as per Indian meteorological department reports.

ZP presents 5 Crores water shortages tackling action plan:
Jalgano district council has prepared 5.97 Crores action plan for tackling likely drinking water shortage in 509 villages in district. It has submitted this to district administration for further action and would get it approved on 30th October meeting. There are 713 schemes suggested. List has Jamner taluka on top of shortages list with 116 villages under shortage followed by 56 in Chalisgaon as second largest likely short zone.

District's 6 villages Panchayat to undergo election:
Jalgaon district's 6 village Panchayat term and 34 Panchayat bye-election would undergo election on 26th November. Nomination filling process would begin from 03rd November. This includes villages from MuktaiNagar, Parola and Amalner for term and Jalgaon, Bhusawal, Jamner, Yaval, Raver, Parola and Chopda for bye-elections. Current term ends in November 2009.

Assembly Elections 2009 - Candidates spare 2 Crores:

District's 11 assembly constituencies have seen 1 Crore 97 Lakhs 58,473 funds spared by various candidates to fight in election as reported to Election Commission. This includes Amalner on top with 39 Lakhs 96,978 and Jalgaon city with lowest of 10 Lakhs 57,710. Election Commission has allowed maximum of 10 Lakhs per candidate expense. Candidates have to submit final expense sheet to Commission by 22nd November.

Vasundhra international film festival begins today in Jalgaon:
Club Vasundhara organised ecology based films, chat with experts, photography and documentary films based international film festival is beginning today at JDCC Bank Hall in Jalgaon. Three days long exhibition has 25 known documentary, small films presentation. Today's event includes 'Ganga' film presentation produced by BBC and Discovery Channel. This follows Oceanic ecology by Arti Kulkarni, Last migration - Mike Pandey, Life in undergrowth, Poured to kill - Jai Mujumdar, Vanishing vulture - Mike Pandey, Mindless mining - Shekhar Dasari and In the Pink - Ashima Narayan. This would also include audio visual presentation by Rahul Raut Pune.

Malaria and Dengue spread pains Jalgaonities:
Jalgaon district is witnessing large number of cases of Malaria and dengue fever. Private hospitals have heavy inflow of patients in viral fever category. Until now district has 5 deaths due to these diseases at Raver, Jalgaon, Nashirabad, Amalner and Khiroda each. City administration and district health authority action plans aren't visibly working to slow down this spread. District administration has urged citizens to maintain dry day to control spread.

Krida Rasik Club wins district Kabbadi competition:
Jalgaon's Krida Rasik Club has won district Kabbadi competition by defeating Bhusawal Jai Matrubhumi club by a point in finals at Bhusawal. This competition was qualifier for selection of district team of 20 players.

Assembly results 2009 - Ray of hope for delightful growth in region:

Assembly elections 2009 result has given most of farmer background MLA and this has raised hope amidst farmers and whole region of good State funding for agriculture dominating Khandesh region. Out of 20 seats in Khandesh 11 MLA would be first-time entering members. Member profile includes 10 farmers, a doctor and 2 law graduates. Region hopes of united efforts keeping party politics away from growth needs.

Jalgaon police wins Jakhete trophy basketball competition:
Pioneer sports club conducted Jakhete memorial North Maharashtra Level basketball competition ended yesterday with Jalgaon police boys team winning competition. Bhusawal military station won runner up followed by Padmaraje trust wining third position. Gajanan Patil from Jalgaon Police team won best all rounder award.

Marico Trophy State Triathlon competition in Jalgaon:
State Triathlon association and its district unit are jointly conducting 19th State triathlon and aqua-Athlon competition from 31st October until 01st November at Vidya School ground. It also has general championship for best scoring individual.
Jalgaon players selected for National inter-school football competition:

M. J. College Jalgaon students Ravindra Sable and Amol Shimpi have been selected in state team for Natoinal Inter-school football competition at Sagar in Madhya Pradesh. Both are students of XI professional course and have moved for training camp at Nagpur.

Jalgaon's 2 girls selected in Indian softball team for Asian competition:
Jalgaon softball player Nalini Jadhav and Deepali Pawar are amongst 4 Maharashtra candidates selected in Indian team to participate in third Asian softball competition from 12th until 16th December 2009 at Malaysia. They are amongst 20 members' girl team undergoing training camp.

Viral fever panics Jalgaonities:

Jalgaonities are witnessing harder time with increasing spread of viral fever and diseases like Malaria, Dengue and Swine flu. Administration has reported 3 swine flu cases and 5 Dengue fever patients yesterday. A 10 years old girl died of Malaria yesterday taking Malaria death count to 2.

Bhusawal enters Semis of Basketball competition:
Pioneer sports association conducted State basketball competition yesterday had Bhusawal entering into Semis along with Nandurbar. Yesterday matches had Bhusawal military station defeating Amalner by 38-28, Nandurbar's Veer Savarkar club defeated Pioneer-A team by 27-16 and Kishor Agencies team winning on Chalisgaon team by 51-42. Final match would be played today.

NMU gears up for Southern-western divisional volleyball competition:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon is in full pace preparations for 5-days Southern-Western divisional volleyball competition beginning from 03rd November until 07th November. Competition would be played in four grounds and has participation of 19 universities 76 teams with first, second and third team and individual awards in Best Smasher, Best Lifter and Best all rounder.

24th October:
CCI announces Rs. 2,850 per quintal rate for cotton:

Cotton Corporation of India, government of India enterprise has announced availing same last time rate of Rs. 2,850 per quintal for Khandesh cotton in this season. It is in process of setting up 10 centres in Khandesh for procuring cotton from farmers. This includes Jalgaon city, Pahur, Shendurni, Ambevadgaon, Chalisgaon, Bodwad, Jamner and Yaval in Jalgaon along with Dondaicha and Nandurbar in Dhule district and Nandurbar city in Nandurbar district. It procured 95,000 quintals of cotton in last season.

Swine flu spread update - 3 positive until now:
District health authority has registered 3 positive patients out of 12 blood samples sent to Pune laboratory. This includes Erandol youth along with Bhusawal and Jalgaon Corporation based youth having this infection. Civil hospital had 2 doubtful cases admitted yesterday.

NMU computer department conducted 'Avishkar 2009':
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon department of computer science conducted two-days annual competition 'Avishkar 2009' is beginning on 01st December. Competition aims at encouraging research and development approach by means of exhibition cum competition in development. Railway accident near Thane disrupts Mumbai route trains - 7 down side trains cancelled:
Water supplies pipe line falling on Kopri bridge in between Thane - Mulund track has derailed central railways traffic since yesterday afternoon. Seven down side trains from Mumbai have been cancelled and Up side trains are being taken gradually towards Kalyan and then back to down line. It includes Pawan express, Kamayani Express, Lashkar, Mumbai Nagpur Express, Panchavati, Vidarbha Express. Certain trains are diverted to handle traffic. Railways accept normalisation of this service today.

Assembly election 2009 - A wave of change:

Khandesh region assembly elections 2009 results have generated mixed results. Last assembly having majority of BJP and Shivsena alliance has seen major losses to this alliance by loosing Amalner, Raver and Chalisgaon seats. NCP has won Jalgaon rural, Pachora, Chalisgaon, Chopda and Bhusawal seats but lost Erandol seat. NCP won BJP's Chalisgaon and Shivsena's Pachora, Jalgaon rural and Chopda seats. Raver' and Amalner independent candidates won on their profile. BJP/ Shivsena alliance turned down rivals in Jalgaon city, Amalner, Raver and Jamner with good marginal victories. Jalgaon's senior political leader Sureshdada Jain and MuktaiNagar based senior BJP leader Eknathrao Khadse both secured their fourth and fifth consecutive victory marking historic achievements.
Neighboring Dhule district had In Independent candidate winning in Dhule city and Shivsena candidate winning Dhule rural. NCP retained its Nandurbar city along with Congress candidates winning Shahada and Akkalkuva seats. This result has seized deposits of 8 candidates in Jalgaon city and 5 in Jalgaon rural on grounds of gaining less than one sixth of total valid votes. Khandesh election results - 11 new faces in Assembly:
Assembly election 2009 results has given space to eleven new candidates in newly to be formed assembly. This includes 7 from Jalgaon, 3 from Dhule and one from Nandurbar. Assembly elections 2009 votes counting tomorrow:

Maharashtra Assembly election 2009 votes counting is scheduled tomorrow. All candidates and their followers are gearing up for the eve. Administration has made its adequate security arrangement for conduct of counting process at MIDC based State warehousing corporation godown.
District counting begins at 8AM at 9 centres and would likely avail all results by 2PM. Counting would be conducted at 14 tables at once and one round would require around 15 minutes time. 5 swine flu alike patients reported in Jalgaon:
Swine flu has triggered its presence in Jalgaon with 5 likely positive cases reported yesterday. This includes 4 from Jalgaon and one from Amalner. Administration has sent all samples for final report and has admitted these four in critical care department. It has already availed Tamiflu tablets to private chemists.

Bhadgaon municipal council likely structure:
Bhadgaon village Panchayat conversion to municipal council has taken Pace on administration level. New Bhadgaon municipal council would have 17 wards and would likely have 6 ladies candidates reservation. State Election Commission has issued letter to Collectorate and divisional commissioner to complete this process before 31st October. Proposed structure would have SC-1, ST-1, OBC-3, OBC Ladies-2, Open-6 and Open Ladies-4 reservation.

Khandesh banana to face UP heat:
Uttar Pradesh and Bihar region has witnessed large increase in banana cultivation in this season. As a result Khandesh banana would now face stiffer competition in selling towards northern India zone. Khandesh major sales zone for banana is Delhi and arrival of local crop would considerably reduce rates and moreover enhance availability of options. As a result Khandesh farmers need to gear up for good competition ahead.

State Throw-ball competition in Bhusawal:

Lord Rama Rath festivity:

Lord Rama temple trust organised annual Kartik Prabodhini Ekadashi based annual Vahnotsav festivity is beginning from Monday, 19th October. This is festivity's 137th year. It includes worshipping with mega 'Kakad-Arti', Abhishek and enchanting. Palkhi is one of key attractions of this festivity. Lord Rama temple is Jalgaon's rural deity.

State sponsored cotton buying likely to begin in December:
State sponsored and CCI conducted annual guaranteed rates cotton buying process is likely to begin in December. CCI is meeting on 27th October in Mumbai to discuss policy for this season buying along with rates offering. CCI enacts as NAFED nodal agency to buy cotton from farmers. Last year buying began at 02nd October on eve of Gandhi Jayanti.
Assembly elections followed by results and new government election could likely take this process further with real implementations in December. Farmers are expecting around Rs. 3,500 per quintal rate.

Marriage Muhurat from 19th November:
Marriages Muhurat are beginning with Diwali festivity entering further towards 'Tulsi Vivah' on 29th October on eve of Kartiki Ekadashi. There are no Muhurat during January 2010 until April 2010 following setting of various houses in space. First Muhurat is on 19th November followed by 22, 23, 24, 27, 29 in November and 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 in December month.

Administration begins Jwar, wheat and gram seeds aid:
Jalgaon district administration has begun availing Jwar, wheat and gram seeds distribution as per central government sponsored scheme. Farmer has to take permit from Panchayat agricultural office and then buy these seeds from MAHABEEJ. It would then reimburse Rs. 800 per quintal grant for Jwar, Rs. 500 per quintal for wheat, Rs. 1,200 per quintal for gram.

Rotary Club, Architect Association Ecology club jointly conducted international film festival:
Rotary Club of Jalgaon East, Architect association and ecology club jointly conducted international film festival on Mother Earth is beginning from 29th October at JDCC Bank Hall. The 3-days eve would have 20 international quality films, documentaries focussing need of conservation, preserving ecology and related aspects. It also has dignitaries' lectures on these topics.
First session would honour personalities with Vasundhara-honour and Vasundhara friend awards and also has presentations on pollution, forestry decrease for school kids on 24th September.

Trupti Tayade wins Gold in divisional Taekwondo competition:
Jalgaon player Trupti Krishnakumar Tayade has won Gold medal in girl's 42kg category first divisional inter-state junior and senior category taekwondo competition. Maharashtra won 22 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze medals in competition. It had participation of Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Goa and Gujarat state teams. Maharashtra boys and girls won first prize. It would now participate in National competition at Bangalore in December.

Jalgaon wins divisional cricket competition:
Jalgaon division has won NMU level inter-division cricket competition for 10th consecutive time. Competition had Nandurbar, Erandol and Dhule divisional teams. Jalgaon scored 199 runs in 40 over playing first. This included Arvind Pawar scoring 22, Pravin Mahajan scoring 36, Yuvraj Bhise scoring 32 runs. In response Jalgaon bowled out Erandol on 175 runs with Chandan Ranave taking 3 and Shashank Attarde taking 4 wickets.

Every Diwali festivity beginning with Dhan-Trayodashi brings prosperity and cheer to every farmers. The farmer majority Jalgaon district has harder time this season with cotton yields yet to be seen. Jalgaon is widely known for its cash-rich banana and cotton crops and this season yet to avail cotton and standing crops yield has pain in farmers. District administration publishes final voting statistics:
District administration has announced Jalgaon district assembly election 2009 final voting statistics yesterday. This has revealed lowest ever voter turnout of 39.15% in Jalgaon city and Pachora on top with 64.66%. Male/ female voter turnout has revealed lower female voting percentage in every constituency. Administration has taken all EVM into strong room its warehouse for votes counting process on 22nd October. Jamner voting percentile of 71.40% has been marked fourth highest in State.
District administration initiated voter's helpline has benefited thousands of voters to get their booth location, name related listing. Helpline included 20-seater telephonic support, one each mobile vain for every constituency.

EVM sealed - votes counting on 22nd October:
District administration has sealed electronic voting machines of all constituencies. It has planned to undertake counting process for Jalgaon city, Jalgaon rural and Erandol in Jalgaon at its MIDC based warehouse location. This location and strong room has over 100 policemen patrolling 24x7 with 50 armed ones and four closed circuit camera monitoring. Police includes CISF and SRPF battalion with water, fire brigade service and generator for power backup.

Assembly elections 2009 - Khandesh records 58%, Jalgaon marks 60% voting:

Assembly elections 2009 received enthusiastic response from citizens. All 20 constituencies in Khandesh having 209 candidates saw good voters' turnout for voting. Khandesh had average of 58% voting which includes Jalgaon with 60.08%, Dhule with 55% and Nandurbar with 59% turnout. Counting process is on 22nd October. Entire process went on smooth with minor incidences of violence at few places. Voting continued till late night in Bhusawal following huge voter turnout during end of voting. Administration has to avail voting to all queued voters during end time 5pm. rural areas had good voter turnout as compared to urban areas. Administration's mandatory public holiday announcement made markets closures and no traffic on roads.
MuktaiNagar recorded highest turnout of 71.47% while Jalgaon taluka had lowest of 39.46% voting. This election has 7 existing MLA, parent minister and two ex-MLA. Many co-operative depositors registered their negative voting.

Banking and financial sector has golden days in region. Regions another Jalgaon established private Banker Axis Bank has announced opening up of Bhusawal branch. Tamiflu available at chemists:

Assembly elections 2009 voting today:
Maharashtra Assembly election 2009 voting process is being conducted today throughout State. District administration and Police have made adequate voting and security arrangements for best conduct of the whole process. There is around 21,000 staff employed for whole process for 28 Lakh voters to vote at 2,977 polling booths in district. This includes 431 sensitive booths were police is patrolling and monitoring every 2 hours. Administration is using video shooting at such sensitive booths and has setup control centre at small savings building in Collectorate office.
Jalgaon district has Chalisgaon on top of list with 308 polling booths and Jalgaon city with lowest count of 216 booths. Dhule rural has 360 booths while city has only 228 booths. Nandurbar has 311 booths and Shahada has lowest of 275. Jalgaon has 123 candidates, Dhule has 52 and Nandurbar has 34.

Elections 2009 - Amalner, Raver attracts attention:
Jalgaon district earlier had 12 assembly seats with one reserved for backward classes. Delimitation has resulted in total 11 seats with 2 reservations and new combination of constituency limits. Jalgaon rural, MuktaiNagar, Amalner and Raver are a few constituencies that would catch everyone's attention in results. Amalner and Raver specially have whole big list of rival independent candidates. Jamner, Pachora and Erandol are also few established seats where more attention is drawn. Jalgaon district's 431 polling booths have been marked as sensitive booths. Administration has announced conducting live voting time video shooting of these booths through 213 cameras. It has also appointed 132 micro observers for these centres. This election also has around 2,500 policemen in various cadres for smooth and secured voting process.

Banking boon - ICICI Bank announces second branch opening in Jalgaon city:

Region's MNC bank, ICICI Bank has announced opening up of second branch in Jalgaon city. This branch is being opened off Omkareshwar Road in Jai Nagar area and would cater to residential and personal needs. Bank has already established its presence in Jalgaon city through Jalgaon branch first opposite Nutan Maratha College and then relocated to Dhake Complex. Bank also has Sangli bank taken over branch in Jalgaon city's bank street area. It is yet to reopen this branch.

Postal ballets sending process begins:
Jalgaon city and rural assembly constituencies postal ballot sending process has began. Most of election process involved staffing, army men; those not able to vote in this election adopt postal ballot system. Voters have to send this ballot back to election officer on or before votes counting process. Administration has completed training of its staff for smooth conduct of whole process. State transport has availed 341 buses for conduct and transportation of election process related stuff.

Jain community identity card and directory publication form filling begins:
Jain alliance global organisation and Jain conference youth branch in association with Jain community has began directory publication and identity card publication work. Directory data request forms are available widely with organisation members, major community Bhavan locations. It would have wide listing of all Jain sub-caste.

Prakash Gavli elected for State National shooting competition:
Jalgaon's Police department working Prakash Gavli has been selected for All Indian Police shooting competition to be played in Jalandhar (Punjab). He qualified for this through State training camp at Daund. He would participate in Site Air rifle category.

Sindhi community's annual Varsi festivity is beginning today in Sindhi colony area of Jalgaon. This festivity has Saint Kanwarram Saheb's 52nd and Saint Godadiwala Saheb's 32nd along with Gelaram Baba's first festive.

Monsoon raining at its best:

Jalgaon district witnessed second consecutive day of raining on Monday. Raining caused water logging in many internal areas of Bhusawal and electricity disruption. Standing Jwar, cotton crop faced damages due to this raining. District has received 81.76% raining by now. Continued raining has increased this percentage significantly by 7% in last two days. Jalgaon taluka is on top of chart with 70mm raining followed by Dharangaon with 64mm and Bhusawal with 60.7mm rainfall. This raining has full Jalgaon city's Mehrun Lake through good inflow from Ambajhara Lake.

Sindhi community Varsi festivity from 07th October:
Shree Amar Shahid Saint Kanwarram trust and Kanwar Nagar Pujya Sindhi Panchayat are jointly conducting 4-days annual Varsi festivity in Sindhi colony from 07th October. Event has various religious activities and enchanting to commemorate the eve. It also gathers community members participation from across India.

District gets 25% additional electronic voting machines:
Jalgaon district administration has received additional 25% electronic voting machines to control sudden flaws/ issues in machines replacement. District has 2,977 polling booths and would require 4,270 control units and ballot units each. Administration has now received 6,243 units of control unit and 6,133 ballot unit systems to ease the process.

05th October:
Rain pours in district - takes off political campaigning:

Jalgaon district yesterday witnessed pouring Monsoon rain beginning in afternoon. Raining continued throughout night and has taken off all proposed political campaigning yesterday. This raining has led to damages to standing cotton, Jwar crop but would nurture upcoming Rubby Crop. Raining also led to flooding in Nala and logged water in many places in city.
Hatnur dam's two gates have been opened to ease water pressure in dam. Amalner, Chopda, Parola, Chalisgaon, Bhusawal, Raver, Bodwad and MuktaiNagar taluka had heavy raining yesterday. Climate is cloudy today as well and region had showering in morning.

Pune and Mumbai sub-urban wins State junior taekwondo competition:
State under-17 junior taekwondo competition ended yesterday with Pune winning with 172 points followed by Mumbai sub-urban scoring 163 points. Pune secured 5 gold and 10 other medals while Mumbai had 3 gold and 11 others. Mumbai scored third rank with 161 points along with 4 gold and 9 other medals. Kolhapur's Sagar Koprdekar and Jalgaon's Trupti Tayade won best fighter player awards. Host Jalgaon won one gold and 3 bronze medals.

Kojagiri festivity celebrated with cheer:

District celebrated Kojagiri Pornima with cheer and enthusiasm. Jalgaon city had 1.50 Lakhs litres milk consumption along with neighbouring Bhusawal taking around 25,000 litres of milk. Jalgaon milk union 'Vikas' sold around 2.50 Lakh litres of milk while rest dairies sold around 1 Lakh litres in all. Jalgaon city and rest district had medium showering raining continued for whole night. This troubled full moon view. Bhusawal division had rain pouring while Yaval, Faizpur, Bodwad, Raver and Jalgaon had medium raining. Climate is cloudy and showering today as well.

District's 5,111 depositors each to get Rs. 10,000 deposit back:
District's faded co-operative depositors have a favouring good news. State government 6 months ago announced soft loan to financially weaken co-operative societies for repaying depositors in retired, below poverty line and widowed category has movement around. Dozing district co-operative department has prepared a list and has taken Collectorate approval for repaying 5,111 co-operative depositors in this category sum worth 5 Crores 21 Lakhs 28,000.
This proposal has now moved to Co-operative department's Pune office for approval. Once approved, this fund would get credited in JDCC Bank and would be paid in banker's cheque format to individual depositors. This process has no timelines given as of now.

Political campaigning heats up:
Assembly elections 2009 countdown has trigger extensive campaigning from senior political leaders. District observed arrival of giant state and national level leaders for supportive campaigning of their party candidates. This election's campaigning issues include availing Rs. 3 per KG grains for below poverty line, protecting farmers from availing waivers as and when required and critics on each other methodology of working.
Desired highest priority issues like Octroi tax, industrial growth, enhancing infrastructural resources like roads, electricity and drinking water. Devastating state of electricity, lowering industrial produces and non-trade friendly government policies remains mere matters on paper.

State Taekwondo Championship:
Jalgaon's Taekwondo player Trupti Tayade has won gold medal in ongoing State level 23rd Taekwondo junior championship in Jalgaon in 42kg category. She is accompanied by Komal Mahajan (44kg category) and Vishal Bedar (48kg category) from Jalgaon winning bronze medals. Competition has matches in 10 weight categories and participation of 850 players from 30 districts. It would end today evening with prize distribution.
