30th November:
Corporation Mayor Election today - Majority holding ruling party on plus:

Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation general body is meeting today to elect its new mayor following resignation of earlier Mayor. Corporation currently has Khandesh Vikas Aghadhi holding 32 seats, Shahar Vikas Aghadhi with 8 seats, NCP with 15 seats, BJP with 9, Mahanagar Vikas Aghadhi with 1, MNS with 1 and 3 independents. Administration has received two nominations for Mayor Post with one each from ruling Khandesh Vikas Aghadhi and another from NCP. BJP alliance, Independents and ruling party candidates support would remain crucial in deciding unopposed or by vote next Mayor of city.

Jalgaon wins Archery; Nandurbar wins Kho-Kho competition:
Forest-living welfare Ashram conducted state-level competition ended yesterday with Nandurbar winning Kho-Kho and Jalgaon winning Archery competition. Nandurbar defeated Malegaon in finals of Kho-Kho. Selection committee elected State team for National competition to be played at Solan in Himachal Pradesh from 27th December 2009.

29th November:
Corporation inaugurates tele-medicine service:

Jalgaon city municipal corporation inaugurated its tele-medicine services centre at Shree Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Hospital. Jalgaon Corporation is amongst State's first runner governmental organisation to offer such service. This tele-medicine service has facilitation and consultation from Nanavati Hospital Mumbai doctors. It would remain freely available for below-poverty level Jalgaonities and at nominal charges for others. Maintaining this system and retaining Jalgaonities confidence of good quality medical services are a few of key challenges for Corporation health department. NMU computer department conducted Avishkar 2009 from 01st December:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon conducted annual research and development promoting Avishkar 2009 two-days competition is beginning on 01st December 2009. Inaugural and concluding ceremony has dignitaries from the field. Competition has degree and PG category development projects from across State. Event attracts majority of Computer and IT field students for presenting skills.

28th November:
Banana inclusion in crop insurance scheme awaited:

District's farmers await State attention since last 2 years for inclusion of banana in national crop insurance scheme. District Soyabeen growers are also waiting for the same inclusion. District farmer witnesses extensive losses and damages to banana crop every year with infections, sudden raining, cyclonic winds alike natural calamities. This natural calamities ratio has increased multi-fold in last 3 years and this is major concern for farmers here.
Nashik district based grapes growers are included in same crop insurance scheme through separated insurance of grapes farms. Current scheme provides 2009-10 season based Jwar, cotton, pulses, Bazra wherein Rubby has wheat, Jwar and gram insurance requirements.

Panchayat committee head election - BJP, Shivsena alliance gets 9:

Jalgaon district's 15 Panchayat undergone head and deputy election yesterday. Most of committees witnessed unopposed election. BJP-Shivsena alliance has scored 9 out of 15 and NCP-Congress took rest 6 seats. BJP and alliance has taken Jalgaon, Yaval, Raver, Bhusawal, Jamner, Amalner, Parola, Dharagaon and Pachora and rest have been taken by Congress-NCP alliance.

NMU youth festival from 28th December:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon is conducting its annual youth festival 'Yuvarang' for the year at R. C. Patel College Shirpur from 28th December. Event would have participation of various NMU affiliated colleges. This includes around 75 Colleges with 300+ students for various events and activities

27th November:
Cotton buying rates to rise further:

Its intense buying war for this season's cotton crop following lower yield. Nandurbar region based ginning factories have announced Rs. 3,514 per quintal rate to that of CCI buying in Rs. 3000 zone and private buying here in same rates. Neighbouring MP based districts are offering Rs. 3,400+ rates. This competition resulting in substantial buying rate increase has cheered farmers' community in Jalgaon district. Jalgaon has around 300 Crores per year turnover in cotton crop.

Jain pilgrimage centre in Ajanta caves region:
Jain saint PP Balacharya Shri 108 Kalpavrukshanandiji Maharaj inspired Kalash shaped Jain pilgrimage centre is being inaugurated on Sunday. Located on Fardapur to Soygaon main road in Ajanta caves zone, this Jain pilgrimage has 108 feet high Kalash-shaped temple, Lord Chandra-Prabhu, Lord Parshwanath, Navgraha temple, a rest house and lake. Kalpavrukshanandiji Maharaj birth place is Pimpalgaon Hareshwar in Jalgaon district and hence this location has been chosen to mark his contribution to society.

15 Panchayat committees head election today:
Jalgaon district administration is conducting 15 Panchayat committee head and deputy election at respective Tahsil office. Process would begin with nomination filling from 10AM until 12PM followed by scrutiny and next hour for withdrawal. Election would begin by 3PM and would be based on support received by nomination filling candidate.

State compensation to avail mere 85 Lakhs:
State cabinet yesterday announced availing compensation aid to farmers having faced losses of crops due to sudden raining for period from 10th until 15th November. State has announced per hectare aid of Rs. 5000. District's 7 taluka had more than 65mm rainfall during this period and does include 1,713 hectares land in above 50% losses category. This announcement would avail mere 85 Lakhs 65,700 thousands fund. Farmers have termed down this help and have demanded more of help seeing losses of 34 Crores in all.

Sachin Patil wins Mayor Shree 2009 competition:
District body builders association organised state-level body building competition ended yesterday with Sachin Patil winning second consecutive award of Mayor Shree 2009. Ravindra Suryawanshi (Ahmednagar) won most improved body builder and Sajid Kureshi (Jalgaon) won best poser award.

26th November:
Administration reports 34 Crores losses due to sudden raining:

Jalgaon district administration has completed its losses assessment for sudden raining for period from 10th until 15th November 2009. Review meeting had district's newly inducted State minister for agriculture. State has already ordered buying wet cotton at Rs. 2800-2850 rates and administration would now request it for availing compensation for banana on farm basis.
Losses estimated has 34 Crores 29 Lakhs 90,000 with onion on top of damages list followed by banana and then cotton. Report further classifies losses in below 50% and above 50% criteria and quotes 2,253 hectares based losses of 14.22 Crores in below 50% criteria and rest 2,530 hectares in above 50% state. Taluka-wises losses estimates reveal Chalisgaon facing most of losses with 10.16 Crores followed by Jalgaon with 4.75 Crores and Chopda with 4.60 Crores.

NMU senate meet approves development plan:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon senate met yesterday to discuss and review academic year 2010-11 development plans. Board has approved starting of M. Sc. 5-years integrated course in mathematical science and M.B.M. (E-Commerce) 2-years post-graduate course.

A. T. Zambre school wins inter-school junior challenge trophy:
Jalgaon based A. T. Zambre school has won 5th Junior challenge trophy inter-school cricket competition ending yesterday. It has defeated Good Shepherd School Chalisgaon team by 84 runs. School player Rohit Patil won man of the match and Man of the Series award for exceptional play.

APMC electoral roll published:

District's Yaval, Raver, Amalner and Pachora agricultural produces marketing committees electoral roll was published yesterday. Raver has 2,949 and Pachora has 3,813 voters on the roll. Publishing of listing would now take further path for election of committee members likely in December.

Junior challenge trophy cricket competition:
District cricket association conducted 5th junior challenge trophy cricket competition yesterday witnessed A. T. Zambre school and Good Shepherd school Chalisgaon entering into finals. Both teams would play today in finals at Police Parade ground.
Zambre School defeted Bhagirath while Good Shepherd won over Sane Guruji Amalner School in semi-final round. Prashant Chaudhari and Lalit Patil won Man of the match award for respective winning team.

24th November:
Gold and silver rates continue upward trend:

Gold and silver markets are on high times with gold witnessing Rs. 250 per 10gms rise along with silver having around 500 per kg shot up. This has taken gold at new high of Rs. 18,250 per 10gms and Silver at Rs. 30,300 per kg. Continued fluctuation in pricing has led to jewellers keeping marginal lower rates for buy-back of existing gold.

State drama competition - Jalgaon-A centre results announced:
49th Maharashtra State provincial Marathi drama competition Jalgaon-A centre result has been announced. M. J. College Jalgaon artists presented 'Ahe Madan Tari Hi' has scored first rank and qualified for next round. Bhalerao Trust presented 'Kavadsa' won second along with District handicapped welfare and rehabilitation co-operative society performed 'Dahshat' won third rank. 'Kavadsa' actress Shraddha Patil and 'Ahe Madan Tari Hi' artist Hemant Patil won best actors award.

Winter chill frosts living:

Region is witnessing arrival of pleasing winter chill in last 4 days. There has been significant drop in temperature leading to frosting mornings and late nights. Jalgaonities have started using wool clothing and cold protection as protection from this morning chill. Farmers expect good Rubby crop ahead with this chilling climatic conditions.

Nagpur wins State handball competition conducted at Chalisgaon:
Nagpur team has won 32nd State junior handball competition ending yesterday in Chalisgaon. Nagpur has now qualified for National competition at Bhilai. Competition had participation of 32 district teams. Nagpur Krida Prabodhini team defeated Mumbai sub-urban by 31 - 22. Nashik secured third rank along with Sangli in fourth placement.

22nd November:
Corporation Mayor Election on 30th November:

Nashik divisional Commissioner has announced conduct of Jalgaon city municipal corporation mayor election on 30th November 2009. Election would be in special meeting with district Collectorate chairing. Nomination filling begins from 23rd November and last date of filling is 26th November. Scrutiny is on same day on start of meeting. Mayor post vacated after existing Mayor resigning from the post.

Gold and silver rates shoot further:
Gold and silver rates are skyrocketing and have reached new high. Gold crossed Rs. 18,000 per 10gms marks yesterday and closed at Rs. 18,050 per 10gms wherein Silver has touched its lifetime high and was sold at Rs. 30,000 per kg yesterday.

District administration orders completion of raining losses estimates until Monday:
Jalgaon district administration has issued urgent processing and completion of losses assessment following continued 3 days raining in district begun on 10th November. All Tahsil offices have to submit their report by Monday. It has received State order to avail special compensation of Rs. 1,000 per goat died during this period. Distribution would begin on Monday based on report. Farmers have raised questions on State policy of not yet announcing any relief for standing banana and cotton crops.

District cricket association conducted 05th Junior challenge trophy cricket competition yesterday witnessed A. T. Zambre school and Bhagirath schools qualifying from urban area along with G. S. High School Amalner and G. S. High School Pachora from rural area for next rounds. Today's matches are Palod High School versus ZP Vidya Niketan, Orion English versus Rustomjie International in morning session and Sane Guruji Vidya Mandir versus Good Shepherd, Shinde High School Pachora Versus Sane Guruji Amalner teams.

21st November:
Corporation general body meeting approves JDCC Bank loan rescheduling at 10%:

Jalgaon city municipal corporation general body met yesterday to discuss on its huge debt burden of JDCC Bank loan. Body has approved rescheduling of loan at 10%. Corporation initially took 54.55 Crores loan from JDCC bank at 16% interest rate and this has mounted to hundreds of Crores following no/ slower repayment. Bank has shown willingness to reschedule it at 13%. Corporation has 315 Crores total loans due from various organisations.
Body also kept sixth pay commission implementation hold until State aid. It has approved availing discount in house taxes for early payments and extension to city bus service JMTU in 15kms periphery of Jalgaon city.

State co-operative depositors package to ease 2,393 depositors:
State government special package announced to pay back depositors of below-poverty line, widows and pension holders having deposits up to Rs. 10,000 has 7.77 Crores requirement from region. Respective district level committees have approved this listing and have sent for further initiating to State government. There are 2,393 new proposals for around 2.20 Crores in process of approval.
List has Jalgaon district on top with 5,511 proposals for depositors from 99 co-operative societies under eligible category amounting to 5 Crores 22 Lakhs.

Graduates constituency election process announced:
Nashik divisional graduates constituency bye-election schedule has been announced. Nomination filling begins from 24th November and 01st December is last date of acceptance. This follows 04th December as last date of withdrawal and voting is on 18th December from 8AM until 4PM. All major parties have initiated their process for candidate finalisation. Nashik divisional constituency comprises of Nashik, Ahmednagar, Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar districts.

Junior challenge trophy inter-school cricket competition:
District cricket association conducted junior challenge district level inter-school competition yesterday witnessed Orion English School, L.N. High School, Good Shepherd School Chalisgaon and Pachora Shinde School winning their group matches. These teams have qualified for second round.
Today's matches include L. N. School versus Zambre School and Bhagirath versus Anubhuti School in morning session followed by G. S. School and St. Merry School Amalner, Sonawane School Mohadi versus V.G.S. School Pachora.

Marriages Muhurat begun yesterday in whole region. There was significant count of marriages seen yesterday. As a result all hotels, Lawns and marriage halls had full occupancy. Rain showering getting over and climate easing has added to charm of this auspicious eve.

District administration to promote E-Democracy IVR based helpline:
Jalgaon district administration having started E-democracy project has initiated its wide spread interest in spreading more awareness and usage appeal in region. This IVR application available on 0257-2222222 offers grievances registration for all administration related issues and queries. This would not only save ferries for posting and getting queries but also avail records to administrative authorities to strengthen system. System has smart tracker with 3 days response resolution time failing which issue gets escalated to Collectorate for hearing. Administration has urged citizens to use this wide spread and have at least 100 queries a day to take it into next leap. Bureaucracy support and ability to resolve issues based on such inputs and above all mind set to offer transparent services are a few of key likely hurdles in this project.

NMU alters scheduled exams on 28th and 29th November following MPSC exam on same day:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has announced altering scheduled exam time table for exams on 28th and 29th November 2009. Maharashtra public services commission has announced conducting Assistant Sales Tax Inspector exam on 29th November and this reschedule has been done with fact that many candidates from region appear in this exam.
Earlier announced Science second year semester-1 exam on 28th November will now be on 03rd and 04th December while third year science semester-1 and MCA exam for same period will be on 03rd and 04th December 2009. 19th November:
State announces buying wet cotton:

Maharashtra State government has announced buying wet cotton as well for the current season following sudden raining damaging standing cotton crop. It would make temporary agricultural degree holders to determine quality of cotton being procured. Khandesh region has around 2.50 Lakh hectare based cotton yield getting wetter due to sudden raining. District has 4.58 Lakh hectares land under cotton cultivation and Dhule along with Nandurbar has 3.50 Lakhs hectare land under cotton. This decision would considerably ease farmers' burden of getting into debt following rains.

Gold rates shoot further - Reaches 17,850 per 10gms:
IMF hefty gold buying from Indian and other countries has lifted gold rates. Jalgaon gold rates touched its lifetime high of 17,850 per 10gms yesterday. Jewellers here estimate gold touching Rs. 18,000 mark in this week itself seeing current buying pressure.

Realty check - Corporation approves 679 building completion certificates:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation town planning department has approved 679 construction completions in this financial year until now. This has availed around 2.18 Crores revenue in form of development right and related taxation. Last year it approved 357 proposals.

18th November:
Jalgaon Mayor post marked for OBC category candidate:
State urban development ministry conducted reservation draws for Corporation Mayor post has evoked Jalgaon post reservation for OBC candidate from April-2011. Currently this post is marked for open category candidate for 30 months. Corporation is likely to announce Mayor Election shortly before 30th November. Neighbouring Dhule Mayor post has been marked for ST category and Nashik for SC category.

ZP president and deputy election on 30th November:
Jalgaon district administration has announced schedule for district council (ZP) president and vice on 30th November followed by various committee heads election on 04th December. This would begin with Panchayat committee heads election on 27th November. This election would be through general body meeting.

District administration sends 50 Lakhs raining compensation request to State:
Jalgaon district administration has send its immediate redresses request to State government demanding 50.55 Lakhs as primary aid to sudden raining affected farmers for raining in period 10th until 12th November. District's 505.8 hectares agricultural land has witnessed more than 50% losses and total agricultural losses were at 14 Crores and others at a Crore. State government is likely to decide on this request today. Administration continues its losses assessment. Agricultural department has estimated good upcoming Rubby crop following likely chilling due to this rain.

Jalgaon wins 16th sub-junior softball competition in Aurangabad:
Jalgaon boys and girls teams have won 16th state sub-junior softball competition conducted at Aurangabad. Jalgaon boys defeated Amravati by 9-0 while girls defeated Bid team by 9-2.

17th November:
Corporation taxing woes to hurt business again - Proposes Octroi from new financial year:

Jalgaon city municipal corporation has proposed to continue Octroi taxation in Jalgaon city from 01st April 2010 in spite of State announcement of removal of Octroi with Cess. Proposal demands Octroi equating aid from State government or allow Corporation to continue Octroi. It fears of no or lower growth aspects if Octroi is replaced with Cess and State now availing equal funding. Corporation general body would also approve proposal to reset its JDCC Bank loan with reduction in interest by 30 Crores.

Corporation Mayor Post reservation Draw today:
State urban development ministry is conducting a draw of reservation on various Corporation mayor posts. This includes Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation currently under open category reservation mode for 30 months. Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation Mayor has earlier resigned from post after 15 months tenure. Corporation would elect new mayor shortly.

Khandesh raining losses primary estimates reaches 23 Crores:
Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar district administration have raised primary estimated figures of sudden continues raining since 10th November. This includes Jalgaon - 15 Crores, Dhule - 6.45 Crores and Nandurbar 1.50 Crores. Administration conducted a review meeting yesterday having presence of district's newly elected minister of State for agriculture. Losses estimate report reveals major animal deaths in Dhule and subsequent banana, Jowar crop damages in Jalgaon.
Raining has increased dam water storage level to 100% in 8 dam while Girana and Waghur dam have also witnessed significant rise. Bhadgaon taluka is on top of list in terms of raining. Please refer Monsoon section for detailed information.

State Election commission orders ZP president election before 04th December:
State election commission has ordered district administration for conducting ZP president post and related committees head posts election on or before 04th December. Administration would announce this schedule shortly.

16th November:
Raining restarts - Monsoon alike rainfall hurts farmers:

Khandesh region continues to witness restart of Monsoon-alike showering since Sunday evening. This rainfall turned showering to medium one in many areas in region. Earlier 3-days continued raining destructed standing cotton, Jwar and rest corps in region. Meteorological department has estimated more raining in next 48 hours. Raining continues in showering form since then and there is no sun-view and climate is fully clouded. Khandesh's respective district administration continues its last week rainfall assessments.

Rubby cultivation delays following sudden raining:
Jalgaon district's Rubby season cultivation has faced hiccups following sudden raining. Farmers have completed around 63,600 hectares cultivation and around 34% cultivation is still pending. Farmers begin cultivation post Dashehra festivity in slow pace and then initiate pick up of Kharip crop to post Rubby. Sudden heavy raining in some locations would likely make farmers to post new cultivation once raining is over.

15th November:
SSC and HSC September 2009 exam result announced:

State Board of secondary and higher secondary education has announced results for its conducted September/ October 2009 exam. District boys scored 35.92% result in SSC and 39.84% in HSC. Jalgaon had 4,377 SSC students and 2,766 students for HSC. Science faculty has 61.14% result, Commerce had 48.43% and arts had 35.97% score.

Mumbai, Nashik and Ahmednagar enters Semis:
Pachora gymkhana conducted state level basketball competition yesterday witnessed cherishing play with eight teams entering qualifier rounds. Nashik gymkhana defeated Bhusawal military team, Akola defeated Jalgaon and Mumbai police won over Pachora-A team. Semis would now have MSP Mumbai versus Mumbai Police, GRP Mumbai versus Nashik Police, Nagar versus Amravati and Akola versus Nashik rural.

District sand auction - Administration gets 9.37 Crores revenue to reserved 3.13 Crores:

Jalgaon district administration has received net revenue of 9 Crores 37 Lakhs 33,207 Rupees to that of 3 Crores 13 Lakhs 7,000 reserved pricing. District has around 200 sand blocks in actual but villages/ areas having lower water levels or draught alike situation request of not utilising this sand has reduced count to 50 blocks. Raining losses estimation begins - Dhule on top of list:
Khandesh region's respective district administration has begun its estimation of losses for three days consecutive rain pouring from 10th until 12th November. First day primary losses estimation has resulted in 5.16 Crores losses in Dhule itself. Jalgaon, Nandurbar district administrations are yet to announce their stats on this.

Khandesh region's 3 colleges get State 100% grant for Science faculty:
North Maharashtra university affiliated rural areas based Dhadgaon, Dharangaon and Bodwad colleges have received State 100% grant approval for its science faculty. State decision of this grant approval is based on respective taluka not having even a single granted college since 1995 and its decision to allow one College from each taluka on grant basis on 04th February 2008.

Corporation general body meeting pm 20th November:
Jalgaon city municipal Corporation general body is meeting on 20th November to discuss house tax collection, extend request to State government to offer aid to compensate Octroi losses from new financial year and 16 total topics on agenda. Meet would also discuss on State policies to exclude IT related services from levying of local cess. Other topics include availing 5% discount for prompt payment of house taxes bills, offering sports related aids/ grants to individuals and organisations, setting up bus pick-up shades at 5 locations and demanding old bus stand location for city transportation service JMTU.

13th November:
Raining kills 4 in Khandesh:

Three days consecutive rain pouring in Khandesh has killed 4 in various incidences in Dhule district. Dhule and Nandurbar districts have hundreds of animals killed and temporary shades getting destructed. Chalisgaon taluka also had large number of animals killed. Raining has also shoot up vegetables pricing following lower inflow in markets. It has severely damaged standing banana crop in many areas. Girana River witnessed flooding in Chalisgaon zone and Girana dam has 3% rises in water levels. District had 90mm raining in 3 days with Chalisgaon on top and Raver on lowest levels. Administration has announced heavy raining (above 100mm) in 7 taluka in district. This includes Erandol, Dharangaon, Bhusawal, Bodwad, MuktaiNagar, Pachora and Chalisgaon.

Sand-economics to hurt Jalgaonities:
Jalgaon district's 50 sand blocks having 4.78 Crores reserved government pricing were auctioned yesterday at Collectorate. Auction witnessed stiff competition and rival groups tussles. Auction continued till late nights and had 24 blocks finalised at 4 Crores 36 Lakhs 54,000 and rest were in process. Sand selling has turned millionaire table for many established tycoons in region and this tussle is likely to double construction cost in form raised cost.
Administration has expected total auction value to be in range of 10 Crores giving net yield of 6 Crores. Rest auctions would be processed and finalised today.

Rain showering paralyses life - sun seen after 3 days:

Khandesh witnessed pouring effect yesterday whole day severely damaging standing crop and disrupting routine life. Raining begun on Sunday midnight continued till today morning and region has seen sun rays after span of 3 consecutive days raining. District's standing ready to pick cotton crop in around 3.50 Lakh hectares area has turned wet. Many agricultural produces marketing committee having Jwar and alike grains arrived have reported gunny bags getting wet during continued raining. Nandurbar district's red chilli is also in deep danger state. Sudden monsoon alike pouring of rain has wiped out farmers dreams with primary estimates of around 200 Crores for Jalgaon, 100 Crores for Dhule and large amount for Nandurbar district.
District administration has raised alert levels and ordered block officers and Tahsil officers not to leave head quarters. It has also notified coastal areas of likely further pouring due to fayan effect moving from Northern Maharashtra coasts.

Raining statistics - Chalisgaon taluka on top:
Chalisgaon taluka has witnessed maximum rainfall during three days continued raining in district. It has recorded 37mm rainfall followed by Bhadgaon - 31mm, Pachora - 26, Erandol - 22, Jalgaon and Jamner - 18.6mm, Yaval - 3.2, Dharangaon - 13mm, Bhusawal - 10.3 and Bodwad and Chopda with 6mm totalling to 246.7mm rainfall in last 3 days.

District's 37% dam water reserved for drinking purposes:
Jalgaon district's 37.09% of available dam water from 13 dam in district has been put in reservation for drinking purposes. Administration has finalised this after requests from Jalgaon Corporation, various municipal councils and Panchayat. Administration has rejected Jalgaon corporation demand of special quota of reservation in Girana dam and urged it to use Waghur dam water only.

Cotton buying in danger following raining:
Ongoing cotton buying for season has rushed in danger with most of procured cotton getting wet at ginning factories and CCI storages. Private Cotton buyers, CCI are making alternate rain-safe arrangements for already procured cotton and have hold buying till time. Private buyers are currently offer Rs. 2,900 per quintal rate and this raining has raised moisture levels in cotton.

Eknathrao Khadse elected as leader of opposition in assembly:
Jalgaon's senior BJP leader Eknathrao Khadse from MuktaiNagar has been elected as leader of opposition in State assembly. This is second privilege for Jalgaon district receiving assembly opposition head post after Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil in 1978. He has been elected to assembly for fifth consecutive term. Entire Khandesh region and rest of Maharashtra continues to witness deep depress zone leading to raining since last 3 days. Raining begun on Sunday night in showering form and has turned pouring since today morning. Meteorological department has estimated cyclonic winds in next 48 hours in many areas in State in next 48 hours. Raining has caused around 10 Crores damages to standing cotton, Jwar and Bazra crops in region and would equally affect pulses produces in Rubby. MuktaiNagar taluka remained on top with 23.6mm raining and Amalner with 1.2mm raining by now.

Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation has announced implementation of State sponsored Mission Olympic and Mission National Championship schemes. District administration has received Rs. 8 Crores 98 Lakhs 38,000 grants towards repair and renovation works to 13 British times and older structures used in governmental purposes. State drama competition inauguration tomorrow:
Maharashtra State government drama competition is being inaugurated tomorrow morning at Bal Gandharva open theatre. Inaugural ceremony has special Dindi as attraction. Four-lane express highway primary survey tender floated:

National Highway Development Authority of India has floated tender for primary survey of Amravati to Jalgaon based National Highway#6 for four-lane express highway conversion. Tender last date is 20th November. Actual work approval could take a year time. Authority has already approved all other route apart from Jalgaon - Amravati following no feasibility and political desires shown. Real effect of four-lane express highway in realty would come by 2011 onwards only.

Brahmakumaris conducted world peace summit:
Prajapita Brahmakumari University conducted World festival for peace and spiritual power is being conducted on Sunday, 08th November at G. S. Ground. Khandesh festivity from 05th February:
Jalgaon district administration is all set up to conduct annual Khandesh festivity beginning from this year. North Maharashtra university conducted 3-days southern-western divisional women volleyball competition would end today. Nashik division to get separate irrigation development mission:

Nashik revenue division has received State approval for setting up of separate irrigable area development mission with budget of 200 Crores for Nashik, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon and Ahmednagar districts each with two mega irrigable zones.
This mission would create 2 mega irrigable zones in each district with various ground work like land levelling, forestry, compartments formation, sand bridges, gabion bridges, farm bases, loose bolder structure and related works from government authority. Authority is yet to announce locations for district.

Banana second container shipped for Europe:
Savda based banana exports facilitation centre has sent 20 tones second round of wagon shipment to Europe. Earlier it sent first container to Middle East on 30th July. Centre has sent total 4 containers by now. Centre also has rented for banana wine.

Bhadgaon sports complex construction - meeting on 10th November:
Regional authority is conducting a meeting to review and take further construction works of Bhadgaon taluka sports complex. It has scheduled meeting on 10th at Pachora office. Administration has received 10 Lakhs fund for construction work and has not utilised it in last 5 years.

Parola and Bhusawal initiates effort for MIDC setup:

Bhusawal and Parola city have initiated their efforts to get MIDC setup at respective cities. MIDC is in efforts to extend its industrial limits and hence sent proposal to divisional office for setting up new extended centres in Bhusawal and Parola. Current Jalgaon district has Jalgaon city and Chalisgaon as two established industrial centres and new plans include Sakri/ Kinhi region based 200 hectares land along with Utran based 90 hectares land in Parola for acquisition. It also aims to extend Jalgaon city industrial area in Mehrun lake area by acquiring 300 hectares government and 150 hectares private land.

MIDC tests Waghur dam water supplies:
Maharashtra Industrial development Corporation made primary testing for getting Waghur dam water supplies. This testing would continue for next 2 days and area would likely get special releases of dam water in peak summer to ease water shortages here.

Southern - western divisional volleyball competition:
North Maharashtra University team demonstrated phenomenal performance to enter into third round of competition. It won first round and had bye in second round to move into third. Maharashtra's most teams have moved to next rounds. NMU team would today play with Amravati in round#3. Amongst other winners include Kerala University, Aurangabad University, Mumbai and Kolhapur.

Competition has 54 teams from both divisions.

Trupti Tayade wins gold in national taekwondo competition:
Jalgaon player Trupti Krishnakumar Tayade has won gold medal in national inter-school under-19 taekwondo competition in 40kg category played in Goa. Jalgaon's another player Vishakha Sapkale won bronze in under-14 category. Maharashtra team won 12 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze medals in this competition.

Corporation general body special meeting today:

Jalgaon city municipal corporation general body is meeting today to discuss special proposal posted by ruling party members. Ruling party members have posted no-confidence motion (second time in corporation history) against Corporation Town-planning officer. Other topics on agenda includes action plan on dengue spread control, discussion on national hawkers policy and availing TDR to land owners offering land for road development. Earlier ruling party posted no-confidence motion against Commissioner and later he was transferred to other area.

Maratha literary meet ends in Jalgaon:
3-days long Maratha literary meet ended yesterday in Jalgaon with 13 resolutions on its sixth meet. Next meet would be conducted in Pune. Madhukar Faizpur inaugurates its boiler:

Madhukar co-operative sugar factory Faizpur has inaugurated its boiler for this season. It has setup ambitious target of 3 Lakh metric tonnes sugarcane processing and has set Rs. 51 higher rate than other co-operative sugar factories offering. This would consist of first straight payment of Rs. 1,700. Factory has capacity of 5 Lakh tonnes sugarcane processing and aims to get 1-Lakh metric ton sugarcane from neighbouring areas. It also aims to produce electricity as by-product of this processing. It has offered 19% Diwali bonus as 19 days additional salary to all workers and labour.

State announces 31 centres for buying Jwar and corn:
Maharashtra State government has announced opening up of 31 centres in district for buying Jwar and corn at guaranteed rates for farmers. This includes Jalgaon, Mhsawad, Yaval, Raver, Savda, Bhusawal, Varangaon, Erandol, Dharangaon, Pachora, Bhadgaon, Amalner, Chopda, Jamner, Chalisgaon, Bodwad, MuktaiNagar, Kurha, Shendurni and Parola. Farmers are required to produce 7/12 statement along with crop.

Chopda city limits extended:
Maharashtra State government has approved Chopda municipal council request for extension of city limits wide its GR dated 31st August. New amendment adds some areas to existing survey numbers along with inclusion of Mauje Majrehol revenue zone.

Jalgaon gets two centres for State drama competition:
State directorate of cultural programmes and youth services conducted State drama competition is beginning from 09th November. Jalgaon has received 2 centres approval for presentation of 17 drama play in this competition. Last year this centre got closed following no entries from Jalgaon. First centre drama presentations are from 09th until 17th November and second centre plays are from 20th until 28th November. 01st November:
CCI cotton buying from 05th November:

Maharashtra State co-operative cotton producers confederation is beginning its cotton buying from 05th November 2009 for this season. Buying would have NAFED announced guaranteed rates for season 2009-10. CCI would setup buying centres at all district levels and major taluka level in first phase and would extend further based on response. CCI has announced Rs. 3,000 per quintal rate. This season buying would also evaluate cotton quality in reference to moisture values and is likely to have lower response following irregular raining and infections in standing crop at many areas.

District administration enforces ground water control act in 10 taluka:
Jalgaon district administration has enforced ground water levels control act in district's 10 taluka based 294 villages. It has put all these villages in dark zone banning lifting of water from public water resources. It has estimated less than 20liters water availability in these villages during upcoming summer.

District Teli community youth introduction meet:
District Teli community foundation conducted State level youth introduction meet is beginning today at Nutan Maratha College ground. Event has evoked fabulous response with registrations from 8 States including Maharashtra and would have around 10,000 community member participation. Foundation has setup 35,000 square feet Pandal and stage with 40 guests and 150 self-service persons along with closed circuit cameras. Jalgaon boys win a gold and two silver medals in shooting:
Jalgaon players have won a gold and two silver medals in recently conducted 19th All Indian G. V. Malvankar shooting competition at Asansol in west Bengal. Competition ended on 29th October and had district's 6 shooters in State team. Pawan Yashwant Wani won gold in 0.177 open site air rifle junior boys along with Nikhil Ravindra Mahajan winning second prize and Ninad Prashant Chaudhari winning silver in sub-junior category.

Jalgaon wins divisional Kabbadi competition:
Jalgaon has defeated Dhule in last minutes of divisional competition to conquer divisional trophy. Both boys and girls team marked exceptional plays to win finals.
