28th February:
Mercury intense further - touches 41 degree centigrade in Bhusawal:

Jalgaonities are witnessing harsh times following sudden increase in daytimes temperature rise throughout region. Bhusawal touched 41 degree centigrade yesterday and intense heating during afternoon times. City had 40 degree centigrade 3 days back and sudden increase has paralysed routine life in region. Jalgaon city is also on 40 degree centigrade levels.

Jalgaon on top in India in clothes buying:
Jalgaon district is at top rank in per capita clothes buying quotes recently conducted market research survey by one of government subsidiary organisation. Survey had analysis of 377 centres that includes 116 urban and rest rural areas understanding life styles and buying. It further reveals Jalgaon per person clothes buying has 40.51 meters clothes bought at Rs. 2,710/64p. This follows Jhansi and Chennai in buying per person. Survey has no mention of exclusion of wholesale buying made at various centres in region.

27th February:
Administration enforces section 37(1) and 37(3) in district from 26th February until 23rd March:

Jalgaon district administration has enforced Bombay Police Act, 1951 section 37(1) and 37(3) from 26th February until 23rd March for HSC and SSC exams.

District Banana exports centre inauguration on 28th February:
District's first fully equipped banana exports facilitation centre is being inaugurated at Savda in Raver taluka on 28th February. This centre has been set up a year back and had no formal inauguration in between. Centres aims at facilitating region's farmer in banana exports.

City turns saffron for Shivsena's mega meet on 01st March:
Entire Jalgaon city and nearby areas have turned to saffron zone with large hoardings and welcome gates all around for Shivsena's mega meet on 01st March at Shivtirth, G. S. Ground. This meet has formal entry of Sureshdada Jain in to Shivsena.

Axis Bank opens up Chalisgaon branch:
Region's second private national bank Axis Bank has opened up its Chalisgaon branch from today. Bank has already initiated services in Jalgaon with 5 ATM in Jalgaon city and one at DRM office Bhusawal and Chalisgaon branch also has ATM and all allied facilities.

26th February:
Corporation general body meeting review:

Jalgaon city municipal Corporation General Body met yesterday to review and approve various topics on its agenda. Body has approved construction of public toilet at Khanderao Nagar, laying pipelines at Talele Colony and construction of compound wall to Vidyanand Nagar based water tank. It discussed 22 topics on agenda. Meet also discussed extension of existing Octroi tax collection tender ending on 31st March. Vendor has demanded net rise of 9.25% in rates to that of earlier year.

CCI cotton buying to end on 28th February:
State sponsored CCI cotton began 4 months before is ending on 28th February evening. CCI would procure all cotton arrived by 5pm on that day and would close this season buying thereafter. Jalgaon division has procured 21 Lakhs 40,000 quintals of cotton in this season amounting to 604.75 Crores through its 83 centres.

State Employment Guarantee review team in district:
Maharashtra State legislative Council Employment Guarantee review committee is arriving in Jalgaon for two days tour. It would all works done after 2003 with detailed analysis of pending works as well.

25th February:
Mercury intense further - touches 40 degrees in Bhusawal:

Bhusawal city yesterday touched its season's highest daytime temperature of 40 degree centigrade. City had 39 degrees on scale in last year during these days. It recorded maximum of 47 degree centigrade on 27th April 2008 as highest summer temperature for last year. Region has large-scale government setup including Bhusawal thermal power station and railways units. Morning times still have pink cold carrying in late evenings as well.

Chopda municipal council presents annual budget:
Chopda municipal council presented its annual budget 2009-10 yesterday having 1 Crores 96 Lakhs 75,000 surplus generated. Proposed budget has 10 Crores 99 Lakhs 41,100 on earnings side and 12 Crores 10 Lakhs 19,000 on expenditure side. This includes revenue expenditure of 7 Crores 94 Lakhs 94,000, capital expenses - 3 Crores 76 Lakhs 35,000, other expenses - 79.28 Lakhs.
It proposes increase in taxes and charges and cancelling of taxes on cycles and wheelers and plans to amend phase-3 of city water supplies scheme aiming at next 30-40 years planning.

HSC 2009 exam begins from Thursday, 26th February:
Maharashtra State board for secondary and higher secondary education is conducting HSC exam 2009 from 26th February throughout State. There are 41,961 students for HSC and 58,312 students for SSC appearing this year at 49 and 111 centres respectively. Administration has set 7 flying squads for smooth conduct of exams and video shooting at every centre level for avoid issues.

24th February:
Mercury heats up - touches 39 degrees:

Jalgaon city and nearby regions have started heating up with mercury reaching 40 degree centigrade in afternoon times since last 4 days. Sudden increase in temperature in afternoon times and mild cold in morning time is resulting in various chronic diseases picking up. Jalgaon yesterday had 39 degree centigrade on maximum scale and 23 degree centigrade on minimum scale.

Parliamentary elections - probable candidates completes first round of public appeal:
Jalgaon district both parliamentary constituency's probable candidates have finished first round of public appeal for their likely candidature for upcoming elections. Elections are yet to be announced. Most of these candidates conducted grand meets, inaugurated social functions, public charity works and painted themselves as most suited candidature for respective party. Their appeal modes include visiting rural areas, meeting influencing people and identifying core strategies for votes appeal.

Bhusawal's senior athlete R. B. Bhavar wins 3 medals:
Bhusawal based senior athlete R. B. Bhavar has won 3 medals in recently conducted 30th national master's sports competition at Lucknow. He won one gold, one silver and one bronze each in 10kms racing, 1,500 meters racing and 5,000 meters racing respectively. He has established new national record in 10kms racing by completing in 40 minutes 7 seconds. Aged at 80, he is divisional railways manager office retired personnel and has won 24 gold, 18 silver and 20 bronze medals in various Asian and national competitions.

Inter-industry cricket competition:
Janta Raja trust conducted Laxmi trophy inter-industry cricket competition yesterday had Jains winning two and The Dal Mill Owner's Association winning one match. Jain player Tanvir Ahmed and Supreme player Raj Patel got Man of the Match awards. The Dal Mill owner's association defeated Supreme Industries while Jains team defeated Plastic Kings and Patel Packaging teams.

Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation General body meeting on Wednesday:
JCMC Administration has called general body meeting on Wednesday to discuss various 17 topics on agenda. Amongst major topics include construction of 88 seaater public toilet estimated at 35.37 Lakhs, public toilet in Khanderao Nagar at 9.47 Lakhs.

IT Fiesta 2009 competition - Pune student wins:
Institute of Management and Research Jalgaon conducted Annual IT Fiesta 2009 ended yesterday. Wadia College Pune student Vicky Ghas, M. J. College student Ravi Lalwani and NMU student Rajesh Sonar won competition in software, C/C++ Programming and PG category respectively. Competition had participation of 307 students.

Bhusawal' s Mohd Shahid wins Body Building competition:
Railway Junior Institute's Mohd Shahid has won Khandesh Building association conducted Body building competition on eve of Shiv Jayanti conducted at Deepnagar. Competition had participation of 86 wrestlers from whole district.

22nd February:
Bodwad 1,500 Crores irrigation scheme likely to start soon:

Maharashtra State government has given principal approval for ambitious Bodwad region irrigation scheme for area in between Malkpur and Bodwad taluka. This project is India's first California pattern irrigation project. Central forestry and ecology department is likely to issue its permission for this project in next 15 days.
This project estimated at 1,500 Crores aims at benefiting farming areas of Bodwad, MuktaiNagar, Jamner and Motala with Malkapur in Buldhana district with direct benefits to around 40,000 farmers. It would cover 45,000 hectares irrigable area and pick up floodwater in monsoon to store in proposed Jamthi and Junone dams that would have Hatnur dam like capacity.

Maha-Shivratri festivity preparations pick up:
Entire region is getting ready for Lord Shiva Maha-Shivratri festivity on Monday, 23rd February. City's Omkareshwar temple would remain open from 4AM in morning and would have 24 hours enchanting and various religious programmes on eve. Gauri-Shankar temple in Kanwar Nagar, Nimkhedi based Shivdham, Siddhi Vyankatesh temple, Divya Yoga spiritual centre, Sai Seva Mandal, Kashi-Vishweshwar temple and Umale Shiva temple are also conducting various programmes on eve.

All India western zone softball competition - Maharashtra girls and MP boys win:
All India western zone softball competition ended yesterday in Jalgaon with Maharashtra girls and Madhya Pradesh boys winning competition. Madhya Pradesh girls and Chhattisgarh boys won runner awards. Maharashtra boys secured third rank. Competition has elected western zone team for national competition.

ZP budgetary meeting on 16th March:

Jalgaon district council (ZP) administration has called special general body meeting on 16th March for budget 2009-10. It would conduct standing committee meeting on 06th March to discuss on budget. Meet would be conducted in case no Election code of conduct is implied in State.

All Indian western zone softball competition day 2:
All India western zone softball competition day 2 had Maharashtra girls, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh boys and girls teams entering into finals of competition. Maharashtra would play versus Uttar Pradesh for third rank in boys' category. Prize distribution ceremony is in evening 4PM.

Inter-industry cricket competition begins today:
Janta Raja trust is conducting inter-industry cricket competition beginning from today at Sane Guruji ground. Competition has 12 teams participating and has attractive prizes and lucky draw for guess finalist teams.

State level skating competition in Jalgaon on Sunday:

20th February:
Jalgaon Airport work handed over to AAI:

Amongst one of sudden developments, Maharashtra State Government cabinet meeting yesterday has approved handover of Jalgaon Airport works to Airport Authority of India (AAI). Earlier it spent whole year in airport work initiating through its owned State Airport development Company. AAI taking charge of Jalgaon Airport work would give speedy processing to Jalgaon Airport work along with National level good quality of infrastructural resources.

Administration minerals auction makes mineral dearer:
Jalgaon district administration has set target of 24 Crores revenue from auctioning of 30 sand locations in district in year 2008-09. Last year's auction has already taken up sand rates to Rs. 800 per brass. Jalgaon has 84 government found sand locations on River basin. Auctioning pattern has Rs. 100 per brass royalty charges of government.
Administration gets 6 Crores from Girana River's 6 blocks and around 2 Crores from rest 23 blocks. Girana, Tapi, Kang, Waghur, Anjani and Suki Rivers have rich natural source of sand.

H.S.C. exam from 26th February:
Maharashtra State board conducted H.S.C. 2009 exam is beginning throughout various centres in district from 26th February. There are 41,961 students appearing from 48 various centres in district. Administration has set 17 custody centres to control centres and has introduced flying squads to curb copying. HSC practical and oral exam has already began from 06th February and would end by 24th February.

Government Engineering College conducted Kabra trophy 2009:
Government Engineering College Jalgaon is conducting Kabra trophy NMU level cultural and various skills presentation competition at JDCC Bank Hall on 21st February. This is sixth consecutive year of competition and has Rs. 2,001, 1,101 and 751 as first, second and third prizes.

Western divisional softball competition day 1:
State softball association hosted western divisional softball competition inaugurated yesterday. In inaugural matches, Maharashtra boys' equals match with Chhattisgarh by 7-7 homerun, State girl's team defeated Chhattisgarh by 14-0, and Madhya Pradesh defeated Uttar Pradesh by 11-0. Competition has participation of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh teams.

Saregama little champs in Jalgaon:
Chandorkar memorial trust and Zee Marathi are conducting Saregama Little Champs in Jalgaon on 01st March at Khandesh Mill compound. Competition has received fabulous response from Jalgaon.

19th February:
Corporation budgetary meeting review:

Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation General Body met yesterday to discuss Annual Budget 2009. Body has approved lower rates Octroi taxes for essential commodities along with raw material for industrial produces. It has proposed 1% to 3% rates for various commodities and products and special rate of 7% on cigarettes.
Body has approved Standing committee proposed Budget estimated at 292.53 Crores with no new taxes. Proposed inflow in budget has 40 Crores from house taxes (100% achievement), 10 Crores from open plots taxes and 5 Crores from city development charges. It has proposed developments of street lights - 75 Lakhs, Crematorium - 50 Lakhs, Accident Insurance - 30 Lakhs, Sports promotion - 1.10 Crores, New amusements and gardens - 1 Crore and blind and handicapped development at 25 Lakhs.

District annual planning - administration to spare 44 Crores in March end:
Poor planning and strategic approach to get developmental works has led to pending funds more than 44 Crores in current annual plan. As a result, administration would be required to spare these funds right within March. District parent minister is conducting a review meeting of developmental works today.
District annual plan had 86.30 Crores allocation and availability of funds. It has spared only 42.28 Crores by now and rest fund works allocation is still in process. MLA local constituency fund has mere expenditure of 40% and rest 60% remaining available.

Gold prices upward trends continue:
Gold continue to hole amidst recessionary and financial year ending time. Yesterday gold touched all times high of 15,750 and later closed at Rs. 15,400 per 10gms. Silver also had supportive demands taking it to Rs. 24,000 per Kilogram.

Administration enforces Section 37(1) and 37(3) in district:
District administration has enforced Bombay Police Act 1951 Section 37(1) and 37(3) in Jalgaon district with immediate effect until 24th February in order to maintain Law and Order situation. This period has Shiv Jayanti along with Maha-Shivratri festivity.

Western divisional softball competition begins today in Jalgaon:
Softball association of India is conducting All India western divisional softball competition from today in Jalgaon. Competition has State unit of association has host along with local foundation for sponsorship.

Aurangabad and Jalgaon wins Triathlon and aqua-athlon competitions:
State triathlon association and Jalgaon association conducted State competition ended yesterday with Aurangabad and Jalgaon teams winning competition. Competition had under-15, under-12 boys and girls with triathlon in 500meters category.

18th February:
Banana export to rise by 26% in this season:

Central Railways Bhusawal division has reported net increase of banana wagons shipment by 26% in this financial year. It has dispatched 5,558 wagons by now in this year and expects more of shipment by March 2009. Railways have earlier 20.17 Crores from this transportation. Raver, Nimbhora and Savda are on top of chart in this exports and nationwide shipment.

Corporation general body special budgetary meeting today:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation General body is meeting today to discuss on Administration prepared Annual Budget 2009. Earlier standing committee rejected administration demand to raise corporation taxes by 140% and restored it to normal rates. Body would now discuss and approve this budget.

17th February:
Summer water woes - two irrigation projects turn zero:

Jalgaon district's Bahula and Tondapur dam have turned dry following lower rain and more use in irrigation works. District two leading reservoirs Girana and Hatnur dam are now at around 50% of their capacity. District had around 75% rainfall in monsoon 2008. Jalgaon city's Waghur dam has 18.85% water storage while Manyad has 48.03%, Girana has 42.36%, Hatnur has 59%, Mangrul has 92.95%. Current scenario is likely to result in water woes to around 500 villages in district.

Keki Moos photography exhibition from 20th Febuary:
Keki Moos foundation Chalisgaon is organising exhibition of international Photography contest 2006-07 at V. V. Library Tilak Hall from 20th February. Exhibition would have award-winning photographs along with excellent art works. All available photographs would be open auctioned and funds raised would be used for building Moos gallery at Chalisgaon.

Chopda sugar factory to discontinue this season's sugarcane processing on Friday:
Chopda sugar factory has planned to end its 17th seasonal sugarcane processing this Friday following no further availability of sugarcane in its region. Factory is processing 900 metric tons of sugarcane every day right now to that of its capacity of 2,500 metric tons. Factory has processed 87,420 metric tons sugarcane by now and has produced 74,075 bags of sugar from it. It has availed Rs. 1,200 per ton.

National workshop on Translation and Transliteration:
Arunodaya Educational Mandal conducted Arts, Commerce and home science college Jalgaon is conducting two days national workshop on Translation and Transliteration - Theory and practical from 20th February. It would have participation of around 100 representatives from across Nation and would have wide discussions on Marathi, Hindi and English literary translation and transliteration theory and practical aspects. Event has 7 sessions with guidance lectures from experts in respective language from across India.

CCI discontinues cotton buying at 9 more centres:
State sponsored CCI cotton buying has been discontinued at 9 more centres with immediate effect. CCI has procured 19 Lakh quintals of cotton amounting to Rs. 525 Crores and would likely end buying throughout in this month end. CCI started buying from 02nd October 2008 and has paid until 31st January 2009.

16th February:
Around 60,000 students appear in State Scholarship exam:

Jalgaon district's over 60,000 students appeared in State run Class IV and VII Scholarship exam on Sunday. Exam was conducted at 287 exam centres throughout district and had 38,723 students for Class IV and 24,712 students in VII. Exam was from 11AM until 4PM with one hour gap in each three paper.

Buddha Dhamma council in Bhusawal on 07th March:
The Buddhist society of India is conducting two days Dhamma council in Bhusawal from 07th March. Divisional central guides would train from 26th February until 08th March at Shramner. Council meet has five sessions that includes various discussions on promotion Buddhism in modern India and current scenario.

15th February:
Challenge trophy chess competition:

Amardeep Bartakke Thane has won ongoing Challenge trophy open chess competition in Jalgaon. He scored 8 points in 8 rounds defeating his rivals from Aurangabad and Nagpur. Competition had Jalgaon players Kiran Patil and Rishabh Shah each scoring 6 points securing fourth rank along with Pravin Somani and Hardik Mehta each scoring 5 points and securing sixth rank.

Jain community Anjan-Shalaka festivity in Jalgaon from 22nd February:
Jain Community's Tirthankar Sambhavanath idol Anjanshalaka festivity is beginning in Jalgaon from 22nd February until 27th February at Jain Hills. Jain Acharya Rajyashsurishwarji along with Jain monks' presence would mark event. Festivity would have five all five stages of Jain Kalyanak festivity giving this idol living form. This idol would then be taken to Veshma Village near Surat in Gujarat.

14th February:

104% cultivation in Rubby season:
Jalgaon district agricultural department has submitted its final review of Rubby season cultivation to State unit. It has reported 104% cultivation in this season and has reported decreased in Wheat and gram cultivation. District has 99,400 hectares Rubby cultivation. This season has cultivation of 103,022 hectares cultivation with Bhusawal taluka on top with 141% cultivation and Jamner on bottom with 52%. Girana dam being full has benefited Bhadgaon, Pachora, Dharangaon and Chalisgaon taluka in cultivation.

Scholarship exam on Sunday:
State board is conducting Class 04th and 07th scholarship exam on Sunday, 15th February at various centres in district. Exam has 38,723 students in Class IV and 24,712 students in VII. There are 171 centres for Class IV and 116 centres for Class VII.

Sureshdada Jain enters Shivsena:
Jalgaon's Sureshdada Jain has resigned from his NCP MLA post and has entered into Shivsena yesterday. He met Shivsena patron and announced this decision later in evening in Mumbai yesterday. His formal entry to Shivsena is on 01st March in Jalgaon with Shivsena's senior leaders visiting Jalgaon for the eve. He looks forward to put up his candidature for upcoming parliamentary elections if Shivsena gets Jalgaon seat.

Challenge trophy open chess competition in Jalgaon:
Nagpur's Anup Deshmukh and Arjun Tiwari Aurangabad along with Amardeep Bartakke Mumbai are leading with 5 points each at fifth round of ongoing Challenge trophy open chess competition in Jalgaon. Second rating Akash Thakur and Amit Tare are on second with 4.5 points each.

Jalgaon baseball teams win:
Jalgaon district women baseball team along has defeated Nagar team by 12-7 home run in ongoing State level baseball competition organised by State unit at Hingoli. It defeated Kolhapur in Semis by 12-7 and Yavatmal by 16-7. Jalgaon junior girls' team also won the junior category competition by defeated Kolhapur by 13-7. It earlier defeated Latur and Sangli team.

Jalgaon boys win State softball competition:
Jalgaon Boys team has won ongoing 15th State senior Softball competition played at Nagpur. Jalgaon girls won runner up award in competition. Jalgaon boys defeated Pune by 9-6 home run in Semis and Amravati by 9-5 home run. Pune girls defeated Jalgaon girl's team in finals by 9-2.

Jalgaon district's 13 village Panchayat would undergo term elections on 25th March. Process begins with nomination filling from 03rd until 09th March followed by scrutiny on 12th March and 14th March as last day of withdrawal and signs distribution. Vote counting is on 26th March.
This includes Amalner Taluka - Lon Bk, Malpur, Talwade, Dahivad Kh, Dahivad, Hingone Bk, Kurhe Kh, Nisardi, Lonsim, Khadke along with Waki Kh and Jangipura (Jamner) and Bornar from Bhadgaon. The Anturli Ranjane villagers having boycotted last two elections demanding division of village would also undergo voting in this election. Villagers are yet to announce their decision on this voting.

Gold touches 15,000 marks:
International Precious metals demand shoot has shot up has resulted in sharp rise in gold and silver rates. Gold rates touched all times high of Rs. 15,000 per 10-gms and silver touched Rs. 22,500 per kg yesterday in Jalgaon. International demand rising and trend suggests further rise in gold price to Rs. 16,000.

NMU exams start from 28th March:
North Maharashtra University various courses exam is beginning in March. University has implemented barcode system in exams. All undergraduate courses practical exams are from 03rd March while written exams are from 28th March. It is conducting training sessions of exam controllers on handling bar code systems during exams.

District tops in Wells recharging:
District administration is in full pace works for recharging wells and forming farm bases in large scale. Beneficiaries from district's four taluka in dark zone would get special aid to do so. District Sales Tax department collects 224 Crores revenue:

Jalgaon district sales tax department has collected revenues of 224 Crores of VAT tax and professional taxes collection during the current financial year to that of its assigned targets of 234 until 31st March 2009. These figures have triggered shine to good growth of Jalgaon in spite of recessionary trend. District Income tax department also has same shining of revenue collection success.

Jalgaon industrial township decision deferred for CM decision:
The proposed Jalgaon industrial township for Maharashtra Industrial development Corporation area in Jalgaon decision has now been taken forward to State CM on 15th February. State revenue and rehabilitation ministry has heard this proposal and taken forward to State CM for final approval.

Corporation gets 28.50 Lakhs grant for setting up solar streetlights in city:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation has received special grant of Rs. 28 Lakhs 50,000 from Central government run M.N.E.S. Delhi and Mahaurja Pune for setting up solar streetlights in Jalgaon city. Corporation proposed 400 numbers of street lamps, 20 solar blinkers, 10 power pack and four traffic lamps estimated at 62 Lakhs and has received approval for 100 street lights, 10 blinkers, 5 power pack and 4 solar traffic signals.

ZP vacant block seats election on 25th March:
Jalgaon district council ZP 3 block posts being vacated because of disqualification of caste certificate would undergo voting on 25th March followed by counting on 26th March. Administration has imposed election code of conduct with effect from 11th February and has announced schedule thereof. These blocks are Kurha Vadhoda (Tal: MuktaiNagar), Bambhori (Tal: Dharangaon) and Vikhran (Tal: Erandol).
Nomination process begins from 05th March and last date of filling is 12th March, followed by scrutiny on 13th March and appeals by 16th March. Final candidate listing publishing is on 18th March and for those in appeal on 21st March. Candidate sign distribution is on 18th and 21st March.

Jain trophy chess competition begins today in Jalgaon:
Sports academy and district chess association jointly conducted 4-days Challenge Trophy chess open competition is beginning today in Jalgaon at district stadium. Octroi or Cess tax - Court orders State to clarify stand:

Mumbai High Court has ordered State government to clarify its stand on its projected Cess and Octroi taxes. It has ordered submission of detailed affidavit with State has planned taxation within next 7 days. This hearing was in response to State traders confederation plea on illegal methods adopted by Corporations to reinstate Octroi tax. Next hearing of this case is on 17th February.

Jalgaon industrial township hearing today in Mumbai:
State revenue and rehabilitation ministry is hearing appeal today on proposed separation of Jalgaon industrial area with city Corporation by formation of Jalgaon Industrial Township. Appeal would have Corporation deputy commissioner during hearing.

Corporation standing committee rejects Administration taxes hike proposal:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation standing committee met yesterday to discuss on administration proposed Budget 2009-10. It has rejected administration proposed tax hike and finally approve budget of 292 Crores 53 Lakhs 50 Thousands. Administration has not availed any provisions to ruling party's election manifesto of 2,100 Crores development plan for Jalgaon city. Administration has quoted State approvals requirement for putting up such hefty sum for city development and hence made no provisions in this budget. Administration's original proposal was of 402 Crores and had around 140% taxes hike.

District administration auctions 5 sand blocks at 81.67 Lakhs:
Jalgaon district administration has auctioned 5 sand blocks at 81.67 Lakhs yesterday. Administration called this auction for 14 blocks but could auction only five. This included Takarkhede (Erandol), Ojhar Kh. (Jamner), Nagjhari (Erandol), Ladi (Dharangaon) and Patondi (Raver).

NCP wins Bhusawal; Shivsena and BJP alliance wins Dharangaon APMC elections:
NCP has won all seats in Bhusawal agricultural produces marketing committee giving a clear defeat to its rival BJP and Shivsena formed Shetkari Market Bhachao panel. The BJP, Shivsena and NCP Pawar group formed alliance has won 18 out of 19 seats getting clear majority while rival NCP and Congress-I alliance won mere one seat.

Inter-school 40th sports competition begins today at district sports complex:

Jalgaon district Police has introduced 26-Armed Police Commando in district for night patrolling and has introduced intensive drive to search records of all booked criminals. Jalgaon district Secondary Teachers' and other Employees Co-operative society underwent term election yesterday. There has been 89% voting for this election throughout district at 24 polling booths. Corporation general body meeting review:

Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation general body met yesterday to discuss 8 topics on its agenda. It has approved completion of Mehrun housing project and sell out those blocks and raise funds to build further housing projects without using Corporation funds. Body also approved restructuring of JDCC Bank Loan and setting up 50 public toilets in various areas. It discussed and approved repaying JDCC bank Loan by requesting 50% of all current made in Principal and settles this loan by taking fresh loan from Allahabad bank at lower rate. Body has approved administration to urge bank to waive off penal interest and consider settlement at earliest. It has also approved requested changes in development control rules of Jalgaon city.

Corporation General Body special meeting today on JDCC Bank Loan:

Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation General body is meeting today to discuss on JDCC Bank loan restructuring. Earlier council took 59.34 Crores 15-years term loan from JDCC Bank at 16% rate of interest. Administration now plans to repay this loan due of 56.34 Crores with restructuring of loan at 10%. Corporation has already issued this intent letter to bank. Body would also discuss on approval to proposed changes in development control rules and other related proposals.

Jalgaonities outshine in MPSC exam:
Bhadgaon based Suyog Nagardeolekar has secured first rank in Maharashtra Public Services Commission (MPSC) conducted Sales tax Inspector exam. Result was announced on Thursday. He has completed M.B.A. and served in private sector for 2 years. He has earlier cleared UPSC pre-entrance exams twice. Jalgaon's 20 candidates have passed this competitive exam.

06th February:
Corporation throws 100 Crores tax hike proposal:

Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation administration yesterday presented annual budget 2009-10 with 40 Crores 99 Lakhs and 18 thousand surpluses in standing committee meeting. It has proposed doubling of existing house taxes and tripling of water taxes along with other taxes mounting to around 100 Crores. Administration has called special meeting of General body on Monday, 09th February. On average, there has been a rise of 140% in current taxes. This budget has proposed 402 Crores earning and 624 Crores expenditure.
Jalgaon administration has failed to win confidence of Jalgaonities on development and there has been no significant development and prospects in city. Increased taxing has led to many a businesses and industries migrating away from city. Most of proposed and paper budgetary allocations are not getting into practical pictures. Street roads, lights and regular water supplies still are challenges to this city administration. There is no visionary approach in current budget apart from allocations to repaying huge debt burden and employees salary as per sixth pay commission.
Most of Corporation public amenities are in bad state of operation including public schools, public toilets and commercial shopping complexes. Increasing of taxes by 140% without any proven track and ability to regain Jalgaonities confidence in administration are key challenges for administration.

Jalgaon Airport development:
Nashik Divisional Commissioner has approved district administration sent 14.33 Crores proposal towards land acquisition for proposed Jalgaon airport. It has now sent this proposal to State government for suitable action. Earlier State Airport development Company approved this acquisition earlier along with estimated 16.21 Crores totalling to 30.55 Crores. District administration would avail this acquisition compensation once it gets go ahead from State. There are 84 farmers from Nashirabad and 50 farmers from Kusumba in this acquisition.

SBI main branch celebrates centenary year:
State Bank of India Jalgaon main branch is celebrating centenary yea today. It has completed 100 years of its establishment in Jalgaon. Bank was established on 06th February 1909 in name of Bank of Bombay. Later in 1920 it was renamed to Imperial Bank and then State Bank of India from 1955. Corporation standing committee budgetary meeting today:

Jalgaon district administration is conducting budgetary meeting of standing committee for year 2009-10. Administration is likely to put tax hikes as reported earlier in print media. State approves land reservation change for Government engineering college:
State government has approved change of land reservation from sports ground to public use for Jalgaon based government engineering college new building in city's approved development plan bearing reservation#102 for block#74 to 76 in Pimprala Shivar excluding 1.08 hectares land in this block. This would now enable Government Engineering College to construct new buildings for its proposed engineering education.

Administration initiates stringent measures on Village Panchayat members:
Nashik divisional administration has issues notices to Village Panchayat members for suspension and actions following negligence shown in implementation of village cleanliness drive. Out of 1,186 Village Panchayat, including group Panchayat 9,643 members a whopping 3,463 members do not have toilets on their own. Administration has further announced disqualification to all these members if they fail to comply by February end. Asoda village submits drinking water supplies request to Jalgaon Corporation:

Asoda village adjoining Jalgaon city limits has submitted a request proposal to Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation for availing Drinking water supplies. Corporation has demanded hefty security deposit from village Panchayat to process this request. Villagers have urged district administration attention to facilitate it picking up water from Corporation as paying of such huge security deposit is out of its pocket.

Pulse Polio vaccination drive - District's 4 Lakh children get dose:
District health department conducted second round of pulse polio vaccination yesterday through 2,207 polio booths set up throughout district.
