30th April:
Heat strokes continue - mercury at 49.2 degrees:

Summer hardest hitting time is here. Temperature has intense to its season highest and is generating boiling heat effect round the clock in whole Khandesh region. Jalgaon had 49.2 degrees recorded on private scales while administration official record suggests 45.8 degree centigrade on scale. Bhusawal had 47 degree centigrade temperature.
Intense summer heat along with continued electricity load shedding has trigger panic in region and there is no one on roads during afternoon times.

Banana rates touch 775 per quintal:
Jalgaon district banana producers witnessed season's highest buying rate yesterday with banana touching Rs. 775 per quintal following peak demands. Increased demands in Northern India and lower availability are major reason for rates hike. This has raised Rupees 135 per quintal in last 2 days itself.

JDCC Bank begins crop loan distribution:
Jalgaon district central co-operative bank has begun this season Kharip plantation Crop loan issuance since 01st April. It has issued around 14 Crores loans to 8,000 farmers by the time through its various multi-purpose societies. It has provisioned 350 Crores target for this year and has 30th September 2009 as last limit.
Bank is also implementing Central government Kisan Credit Card scheme and has benefited around 55,000 farmers. JDCC Bank deposits rises to 1,736.25 Crores - Liquidity eases following Central and State farm debt waiver schemes

29th April:
Dr. Prabhakar Chaudhari nominated for V. V. Bokil Award:

Maharashtra literary council Pune has announced V. V. Bokil Best Literary Award for the year to Jalgaon's senior literary icon Dr. Prabhakar Shravan Chaudhari for his 'Adhunik Nitikatha' set of 12 collections.
Collection has moral education with 366 stories and sayings explained. Prize distribution ceremony is on 26th May at Pune during Council's 102nd annual meet.

Intense heat waves in whole Khandesh:
Whole of Khandesh has turned to boiled zone with mercury at worst State and heat strokes throughout day. Tuesday had Bhusawal at 45.5 degree centigrade, Nandurbar at 44.6 degree, Dhule at 44.3 degrees and Jalgaon at 44.1 degrees. These heat waves have turned whole region restless and uncomforting. Team Ejalgaon.com recommends new visitors to stay away from this zone for few days and those inside should take maximum possible precautions.

Academic year 2009-10 to begin from 15th June:
State secondary and higher secondary department has district council Education offices to introduce academic year 2009-10 with effect from 15th June 2009. It has also announced 12th October 2009 as start day for Diwali 2009.

Kharip plantation planning:
District agricultural authority has imitated its planning for coming Kharip season. It has issued notices to dealers to Inform, get approved and then issue sales for all seeds and pesticides during the season. This season has around 20 Crores seeds and pesticides expected sales in region's four districts. Most of crops include Cotton, Jwar, Corn, Bazra and rice. Central government has 50% grants sanction for seeds availing to farmers.

Jalgaon enters quarterfinals of State football competition:
Jalgaon boys have defeated Jalna team by 7-1 in ongoing State football competition and have qualified for quarterfinals. Jalgaon would now play versus Nagpur in quarterfinals and against Kolhapur on 01st May.

28th April:
Sugar trade put in licensing control:

State government has issued notification for licensing based sugar trading following sudden rising of prices. State food and urban supplies department order bans storing sugar for more than 30 days and has taken this into essential commodities. It estimates traders stocking pattern as major reason for price rise and has planned for strict actions in case traders are found guilty in this storage pattern. Sugar was moved out of licensing act on 16th June 2003 and re-including in licensing pattern would woe traders.

Sakharam Maharaj festivity in Amalner:
Amalner's traditional Sakharam Maharaj festivity began yesterday with flag hoisting and worshipping. Festivity continues further with various events and large devotees' participation.

Jalgaon defeats Dhule in State level Football competition:
Jalgaon under-19 Boys team has made phenomenal start in competition by defeating neighbouring Dhule by 5-0. Jalgaon player Ayyaz Shaikh made 3 goals in match along with Arjun and Vicky scoring one each. Competition has 17 districts in 4 division. Jalgaon is in D group along with Dhule, Jalna and Sangli teams. Jalgaon would now play versus Jalna on Tuesday evening following absence of Sangli team in competition.

Heat waves arrive in Northern Maharashtra:
Whole North Maharashtra region is witness sunstroke and heat waves at intense levels. Jalgaon, Dhule, Nashik and Malegaon are on 40+ degree centigrade levels. Jalgaon and Dhule had 45 degrees yesterday while Malegaon was at 43 and Nashik at 40 degrees. Bhusawal had 46 degrees on scale and this is likely to rise further. Intense heat waves along with daily load shedding of 6 hours and water woes have paralysed life and living in region.

Jalgaon defeats Gudge-Eleven Pune in cricket:
Jalgaon under-16 boy's team has defeated Pune boys by 7 wickets in ongoing competition at Kolhapur. Pune team started its play at 30/3 and bowled out on 123 runs. Jalgaon bowler Jagdish zope took 4 wickets, Sandeep Nikam took 3 while Satyavan Jadhav took 1 and 2 went run out. Jalgaon availed follow on with 109 runs lead.
In response and follow on Pune Boys failed to sustain on Jalgaon bowling and bowled out at 131 runs. This includes Jagdish Zope and Satyavan Jadhav each taking 5 wickets. Jalgaon required 23 runs to win which it scored on loss of 3 wickets. Jalgaon would play versus Nanded in second match on 28th and 29th April and now has 5 points to its tally.

Jalgaon scores 233 runs in State cirkcet competition:
Jalgaon under-16 boys' team has scored 233 runs against Gudge Elevens Pune in ongoing competition at Kolhapur. Bad start with score at 26 runs and 5 wickets led to pressure in middle order. Javed's fabulous 90 runs along with Nitin with 39 and Captain Nikhil with 32 and 18 each from Jagdish and Sandeep led team to 233 runs score. In reply, Gudge 11 scored 30 runs on loss of 3 wickets. Jalgaon bowler Sandeep took all these wickets and led Jalgaon on up.

25th April:
Parliamentary elections 2009 - updated voting statistics:

Jalgaon district administration has issued updated and final statistics for parliamentary elections 2009 voting. Jalgaon had 42.43% voting while Raver had 50.78% averaging district at 46.43%. Updated stats has Jalgaon city - 34.21, Rural - 45.24%, Amalner - 44.46, Erandol - 45.18%, Chalisgaon - 39.89% and Pachora - 47.58%
Raver had Chopda - 45.01%, Raver - 54.18%, Bhusawal - 41.26%, Jamner - 51.29%, MuktaiNagar - 58.93% and Malkapur - 55.26%

District water levels going down:
Jalgaon city and rest of district areas water levels are going down as a result water woes are on top of list. District Council Soil survey department has sanctioned 46 well and 25 stand posts. There are 4,254 stand posts set in district and administration has initiated repairs to 2,209 through Village Panchayat.

Administration completes election EVM collection process:
Jalgaon district administration completed its crucial role of smooth conduct of election process and later collecting all electronic voting machines. It took 20 hours time to collect all machines and seal it in State warehousing Corporation Godown. There are total of 1,650 EVM in whole process. Election department has reported total expenditure of 51 Lakhs by candidates in this election.

Jalgaon player selected in State roll ball skating team:
Jalgaon players Sejal Mahendra Dhande, Tejaswini Shinde, Aniket Milind Shirode and Mukul Chandrakant Lohar have been selected in State roll ball skating under-11 team for National competition at Kolhapur from 27th until 30th April 2009. This selection is on basis of roll ball and mixed roll ball qualifying competition conducted at Nagpur.

Intense summer heat, lesser or no background candidature and commitments to development, lower campaigning and interest generated has led to one of lowest voters' turnout in parliamentary elections 2009. Jalgaon had 42.43%, Raver - 50.57%, Dhule - 43.23% and Nandurbar had 48% voting. There are 54 candidates for four constituencies and votes' counting is on 16th May 2009. Administration has booked 11 FIR in whole process and would scrutinise voting today.

Entire Khandesh zone is undergoing voting process today for parliamentary elections 2009. District administration and Police has tightened security in whole region and has introduced special patrolling and round the clock checks for smooth conduct of whole process. There are 23 sensitive booths in Jalgaon and Raver constituencies and BSF would take charge of these booths. There are 32 candidates for Jalgaon and Raver constituencies with around 29 Lakh voters to exercise their voting rights.

Drinking water woes - Girana dam storage level touches 25% mark:
Jalgaon district's largest water supplies resource Girana dam has touched to 25.47% storage levels. Chalisgaon and Bhadgaon are getting drinking water supplies after every six days while Pachora is getting every 4-days alternative supply. Jalgaon city is on same lines with gapping supplies. Jalgaon city's nearby Mamurabad is on tanker supplies while Asoda has every 15-days supply. Administration yesterday made a special water release from Girana dam for Chalisgaon, Bhadgaon and Pachora drinking supplies.

21st April:
Hottest summer day - 20th April - Mercury touches 47 degrees:

Jalgaon and Bhusawal region is witnessing boiling effect since last fortnight. Mercury touched its season's highest of 47 degree centigrade on Monday in Bhusawal while Jalgaon also remained at same boiler levels. Bhusawal remained top on charts of summer heat throughout State yesterday. Bhusawal had 47 degrees on scale last year on 29th April.

District civil hospital record room catches fire:
Jalgaon district civil hospital record room in administrative building caught sudden fire in afternoon time around 12.15PM due to short circuit. Fire brigade authorities from Jalgaon and nearby locations took around 2 hours time to control fire. Sudden fire and huge smoke spread panic in admitted patients in nearby buildings and led to stampede.
Authorities have reported no injuries and life losses. This fire has led to damages and destruction of records of 15 various departments and medicines worth Rs. 5 Lakhs. Administration has estimated around 40 Lakhs losses in total in primary observations.

Banana wagons shipment delays woes producers:
District banana producers are in woe with railways delaying shipments of banana wagons to Delhi following huge pressure from mango producers. This delay leads to penalty of Rs. 50 per hour to producers along with auction on next day. Raver, Savda and Nimbhora have 84 wagons every two days and have 30-35 hours routine shipment time to Azadpur fruits market in New Delhi. Currently all racks are delay by hours leading to lower rates, penal charges and overall slower circulation.

Khandesh election campaigning ends today evening:
Parliamentary elections 2009 campaigning would end today evening in whole Khandesh region. Voting is scheduled for Thursday, 23rd April 2009. Region had hectic political campaigning since last 15-20 days from all levels by political parties. Jalgaon has 13 and Raver has 19 candidates. Administration has also announced dry day from 21st April 5PM until 23rd April 5PM for smooth conduct of whole election process. It has also announced 23rd April as public holiday for election voting.

Summer at peak - touches 45 degree centigrade:

Jalgaon district continue to witness harsh rising summer temperature since last fortnight. Jalgaon city had 44 degree centigrade temperature on Saturday, which rises further to 45 degrees on Sunday. Roads remained vacant and political campaigning also went down due to hectic heat waves.

Corporation standing committee approves Special economic zone in city:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation Standing committee has given no-objection certificate to State's request cum expression of interest letter for initiating Special Economic Zone in city. Administration has also shown its readiness for changing city development plan as per this requirement.
Availing minimum 200 acres land in city limits and mindset to support industrial growth are a few of challenges for Jalgaon Corporation. None of industries has yet submitted proposal for the same.

ZP spares 17 Crores for water supplies in financial year 2008-09:
Jalgaon district council (ZP) rural water supplies department has spared 17 Crores 51 Lakhs 27,000 Rupees fund on different 201 water supplies related project under Bharat Nirman Central government scheme in year 2008-09. This project includes laying of supply lines and various temporary related works.

19th April:
District Police gears up for election smooth conduct:

Jalgaon district Police has initiated hefty measures and raised Police force for smooth conduct of whole election process. There are around 4,000+ Policemen combined for both constituencies with special inclusion of State reserved Police Force from Wardha, Jalna and Nagpur along with two BSF and one Gujarat State Police battalion. There are 16 groups of BSF for Jalgaon and 20 for Raver and special Police Cell of 250 Policemen monitoring sensitive areas. Election authority has 16 officers appointed in District Election control room with one each officer from assembly constituency level.

Mercury raises further - touches 44 degrees:
District continues to witness worsening summer heat with every rising day. Jalgaon had 44 degree centigrade temperature on mercury scale yesterday while Bhusawal was at one-step up from this. Whole region is witnessing burning sensation and effect during afternoon times continuing until late nights.
Health authorities have urged Jalgaonities to take special caution of heat, avoid movement during peak afternoon heat, and use suitable protection while moving out. It has set up special cell for heat affected persons in district civil hospital.

Region's 10 Municipal Councils likely to face drinking water shortages:
With rising summer heat and decreasing water levels, region is on hard times for drinking water and routine life. This includes Jalgaon city on top of chart with mere 15 days water stock in Waghur dam and 4 reserved water releases in Girana dam, Erandol and Dharangaon cities having a month storage, Yaval having 25 days storage and one reserved water release along with Bhusawal having 20 days water storage and 2 reserved releases.
Pachora, Chalisgaon, Amalner, Parola and Chopda cities have 15-20 days storage with a few of reserved releases of water for handling situation. District's 6 dam have turned zero and rest continue to witness downturn following usage.

District gets 22 Crores first instalment for water supplies projects:
Central government has sanctioned 51.40 Crores for Jalgaon district's Amalner, Chopda, Parola, Pachora and Chalisgaon cities and would receive first instalment of 22.38 Crores under urban infrastructural development for small and medium scale towns.
This would enable cities to lay fresh water supplies lines and construct new water storage tanks for ease of supplies. Sanctioned fund has 9.94 Crores for Amalner, 1.94 Crores for Chopda, 1.61 Crores for Parola, 7.27 Crores for Pachora and 1.06 Crores for Chalisgaon.

15th April:
Increasing summer heat reduces milk produces:

Increasing summer heat and shortfall of animal feeds and increasing feed rates is leading to reduction of overall milk productivity in district by around 10-15%. District's white revolution hub Jalgaon Milk Union has major role in region's milk supplies and collection. District has more than 3 Lakh litres per day milk collection and distribution. None of these has yet increased rates in near time.

Government grains buying scheme - 175,000 quintals of grain bought:
Central government guaranteed rates grains buying process has received good response in this season. It has bought 175,623 quintals of grains by 31st March 2009. This includes Jwar, Corn and Bajra through State co-operative marketing federation centres. It has 94,493 quintals Jwar and 80,967 quintals of corn as 2 major supplies along with Bajra.

Maharashtra Blue defeat Jalgaon boys:
Maharashtra Blue team has defeated Jalgaon boys by first inning lead of 126 runs in ongoing super league cricket competition at Pune. Jalgaon scored 267 runs in first inning. In response, Maharashtra Blues boys scored 393 runs and gave lead of 126 runs. In response, Jalgaon scored 131 runs for loss of 7 wickets in second inning in designated 40 over.

14th April:
Parola explosions - Injured count touches 71, 24 died:

Parola fireworks factory explosion injured count has touched 71 and 24 deaths. Administration has availed Rs. 21.21 Lakhs as special relief aid to families of those died and injured ones. This incidence has reported death of seven children labour and injuries to six. Administration committee is investigating children labour employment.

Workshop for urban banks in district:
District urban co-operative banks association is conducting workshop for urban banks board and officers at People's Bank hall. It would have widespread discussion and guidance on Grade-3 and Grade-4 level bank issues, RBI policies, circulars, question and answers and Farmer Debt Waiver scheme.

13th April:
Mercury intense further - touches 45 degrees mark:

Jalgaon district is witnessing most harsh days in second week of April. Mercury has risen to 45 degree centigrade. Jalgaon city yesterday recorded 44.6 degree centigrade temperature. Whole region had almost no movements on roads in afternoon times because of this. Health authorities have urged self-protection by use of sun-coats, maximum water drinking and limewater.

Election campaign picks full pace:
Parliamentary elections 2009 campaigning has taken full pace in whole district. Region is witnessing arrival of top brass national and state leaders for public addressing. Auto Rickshaw based announcements, public contacts and hoardings along with local print media are a few of tools used by these candidates. Recent Parola Explosions has seen never before bureaucracy speed for all of relief works. The relief aid distribution that would have taken years to settle down is about to end in just week's timeframe.
Most of campaigners and candidates are witnessing hospitals and explosion location to express sympathy and best possible efforts. District administration has even announced committee on explosion and announced stringent action on factory owners for any of lacuna if kept.

12th April:
Parola fireworks factory explosions death toll increase further:

Yesterday caused severe explosion leading to fire and drastic tragedy death toll has risen further. Until now, 23 workers have died in this incidence, which includes children labour, women and male workers. District Collectorate has announced two-member DM level investigation into the epic. Police have arrested two of managerial staff in this connection for further investigation. Administration has also announced Rs. 1 Lakh aid to families of those died and 50,000 to injured ones. Industrial deputy Director, Regional politicians and candidates in fray have visited hospitals and location to express their sympathy.

NMU announces NET-SET training courses coaching:
NMU computer science department has announced conducting of special coaching classes from 06th until 15th May 2009. This includes UGC, CSIR, NET and SET exam preparations especially for SC, OBC and minority community students.

Jalgaon scores 267 runs:
Jalgaon boys have scored 267 runs in ongoing super league cricket competition versus Maharashtra-W team. In response Maharashtra-W, team has scored 119 runs on loss of 1 wicket. Jalgaon score includes 92 from Tanvir Ahmed, 43 from Vijay Lohar and 36 from Devvrata Raval along with 22 from Chandan Wani. Ganesh Lohar took first wicket of State team.

11th April:
Explosion in fireworks factory at Parola - 22 killed:

Parola based fireworks factory located on Amalner road had sudden explosion yesterday evening killing 22 and injuring 55 severely, five injured are in critical stage. This includes 6 children, 7 ladies and 9 men. Incidence took place around 4.15PM in afternoon with first explosion and series of three more explosions later on. This explosion led to collapse of floor slabs of 8 out of 12 rooms in factory. Whole event has caused huge losses to factory in terms of financial implications.

Jalgaon's 4 players selected for Maharashtra Premier League cricket competition:
Jalgaon district's four players have been selected amongst State's 112 players for upcoming State Premier League competition at Pune from 04th until 14th May. This includes Ninad Chaudhari in A Category, Mehul Ingale and Chandan Wani in B category and Varun Deshpande in C category. This selection is based on earlier competition performances of these players.

Administration publishes final electoral roll:
District administration has published final electoral roll of district yesterday. As per revised roll, there are 29 Lakhs 62,797 voters in both constituencies including Malkapur. This include Jalgaon with 1,545,655 voters and Raver with 1,417,142 voters. District's voter's count has reached to 2,744,266 voters.

Bhusawal's Sachin Patil win Jalgaon-Shree award:
District body Builders association and Nashirabad education board jointly conducted district Shree 2009 competition ended yesterday at Nashirabad. Coronation Health Club Bhusawal wrestler Sachin Patil won District Shree award in this competition along with Sajid Kureshi winning Best Poser award.

10th April:
State announces public holiday on election voting day:

State government has announced public holiday on 16th and 23rd April on eve of Parliamentary elections 2009 voting as per voting day in respective district in State. All State government units would remain closed on the eve.

District water levels go down:
Jalgaon district soil survey department recent survey has revealed lowering water levels in whole district. District's 294 villages are currently in dark zone and this could rise further seeing current scene. Lack of continuous water recharge projects has led to this drastic situation. Bhusawal, Bodwad, MuktaiNagar, Yaval and Chopda taluka water levels are below 100-150 feet.
Jamner, Jalgaon, MuktaiNagar and Parola taluka are facing water shortages. Administration has issued special release of Bori Dam water for Parola drinking supplies. It has started 5 tanker supplies and acquired 43 well and is undertaking temporary water supplies project in 10 villages.

Parliamentary elections campaigning - No local issues on agenda:
Parliamentary elections 2009 campaigning is entering in full swing in region. Many State and National level leaders are arriving for mega public addressing. This election has whole of Jalgaon district and Malkapur taluka from Buldhana as per new delimitation act. None of political fraternity and candidates campaigning have local developmental issues on agenda. Key sellers are again traditional issues like electricity, drinking water and farmer focus.

09th April:
Parliamentary elections - 54 candidates in Khandesh:

There are 54 candidates in Parliamentary elections 2009 in whole Khandesh. This includes 13 in Jalgaon, 19 in Raver, 7 in Nandurbar and 15 in Dhule. All candidates would now look forward to intensive campaigning until 21st April. Voting is scheduled on 23rd April and results on 16th May.

JDCC Bank issues crop loan for Kharip season:
Jalgaon district central co-operative bank has started issuing Kharip season crop loans for this season. It has set ambitious target of 350 Crores. Central and State farmer debt waiver schemes have made around 125,000 farmers debt-free and eligible for new loans. This is likely to raise new loan requests for the season.

Unseasoned raining in whole Khandesh:

Khandesh region witnessed sudden raining yesterday afternoon. Yesterday began with cloudy atmosphere around and had lateral showering to medium raining for around 10 minutes. Raining led to damages to open wheat brought for selling in many APMC.

Shailesh Deore tops in State shooting competition:
Jalgaon's District rifle association player Shailesh Deore has topped in State in 52nd Maharashtra Air Weapon Shooting championship at Mumbai. He scored 296 out of 400 points in 177-Open Site air rifle category and follows Kolhapur player with 282 points and Mumbai player with 249 points.

District sports authority receives list of sports eligible for 25 additional points:
Jalgaon district sports authority has received list of 21 sports having 25 additional points for students of SSC and HSC. This includes Tug of War, Wrestling, Kabbadi, Ground competitions, Mallakhamb, Kho-Kho, Table tennis, Taekwondo, Throw Ball, Boxing, Gymnastics, kick boxing, volley ball, fencing, softball, Atya-Patya, cycling, football, Sikai, Yoga and Shooting ball sports.
It has urged all sports to submit forms to reclaim these marks in exam by taking proof of participation.

Nomination scrutiny - 73 nominations valid:
Election authorities have scrutinised nominations for parliamentary elections 2009 and have found 73 out of 87 as valid nominations. One candidate has withdrawn and decision on two is pending. This includes 18 out of 21 in Jalgaon, 29 out of 31 valid in Raver, 8 out of 10 in Nandurbar and 18 out of 25 valid in Dhule.

Jalgaon Janta bank posts 7 Crores profit:
Jalgaon Janta Sahakari Bank Ltd has posted 7 Crores profit in financial year 2008-09 and its NPA has reduced to less than 3%. Bank has 462 Crores deposits and 273 Crores loans and total turnover of 735 Crores with 15 Crores as share capital through 41,000 members. Bank currently has 24 branches and 3 extension counters and plans to open a few more branches and core banking services in upcoming times.

Khandesh parliamentary elections nomination filling review:

Parliamentary elections 2009 first crucial step of nomination filling ended yesterday. Khandesh region's all four constituencies Jalgaon, Raver, Dhule and Nandurbar have a total of 87 nominations. Actual fight scene would be clear after scrutiny and last date of withdrawal of nominations. Most like Jalgaon and Raver would have one to one tussle while Dhule and Nandurbar would triangular fight.
Admin would scrutinise nominations on Monday and Wednesday is last date of withdrawal of forms. Jalgaon has 21 candidates, Raver has 31, Dhule has 25 and Nandurbar has 10 candidates having filed nominations.

District's 17 Villages resolution to boycott parliamentary elections:
Jalgaon district's 17 villages in Chopda taluka namely Amalwadi, Umarti, Gavryapada, Kharyapada, Vaijapur, Shenpani, Mulyautar, Karjana, Melane, Devhari, Devgad, Unamdev, Pandhri, Shevali Bk, Chandnya lake, Kundyapani and Borajanti have made a resolution to boycott parliamentary elections 2009 demanding implementation of Forestry Rights Act 2006 in Jalgaon district. This Act implementation would avail land for scheduled castes. Nandurbar has this act implemented.

District sports complex conducted summer camps from 25th April:
Jalgaon district sports confederation, district sports council and sports authority are conducting summer special vacation camp beginning from 25th April until 17th May. Event has 22 games and admission process begins from 10th April charged at Rs. 200/- per candidate for event. Camp begins at 6.30AM in morning and ends by 6PM in evening.

Parliamentary elections nomination filling last date today:

Today is last day for filling nominations for upcoming parliamentary elections 2009. BJP Shivsena alliance candidate A. T. Patil, NCP-Congress-I alliance candidate Adv. Vasantrao More and 6 others have filled nominations in Jalgaon constituency until now out of 118 nomination forms sold to 45 candidates.
Raver constituency has Congress-I, NCP alliance candidate Adv. Ravindra Patil, BJP-Shivsena alliance candidate Haribhau Jawale and 11 other candidates out of 142 nominations sold. Central observers are arriving today in district for review.

State electricity distribution Company reduces rural load shedding by 1 hour:
State electricity distribution Company has reduced other than Jalgaon city and Gavthan feeder areas load shedding by one hour with immediate effect. Earlier rural areas had 11.30 hours daily power outages and urban areas have 5.30 hours daily load shedding.

State transport introduces additional buses for Saptashringi:

Jalgaon and Bhusawal sizzle at 43.5 degrees:

Jalgaon and Bhusawal along with nearby areas in Khandesh witnessed season's highest mercury scale leading to intense summer heat. Heat waves and low-pressure belt leading to this heat made life unbearable. Authorities recorded 45 degree Celsius in Raver, Bhusawal had 43.5 degree Celsius and Jalgaon had 43.5 degrees. Heat waves continued until late evening and effect continued until late night.

District banana producers send over 12,000 wagons of banana in FY 2008-09:
Jalgaon district banana producers have sent around 12,000 wagons of banana to northern India through Railways in financial year 2008-09 with 150% growth to last year. Railways have earned 21 Crores in this wagon freight. Producers dispatch wagons to New Delhi and Kanpur from Raver, Savda, Nimbhora and Kajgaon. Railways estimate doubling of this volume in new financial year.

Corporation collections 91 Crores taxes in financial year 2008-09:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation has collected revenue of Rs. 91 Crores in FY 2008-09.This includes 58.90 Crores in Octroi and escorts fees, 23.50 Crores house taxes, 2.21 Crores in shops, 2.22 Crores in town planning, 3.73 Crores in other services and cess in town planning at 28 Lakhs. This revenue collection is 8 Crores more than that of previous year.

Jalgaon district's almost all banks witnessed huge overloaded rush because of March ending yesterday. Government nodal banks remained full following tax dues payments on last day of financial year 2008-09.

District administration introduces voter helpline mobile vans:
Jalgaon district administration has introduced voter helpline four mobile vans throughout district. All van are equipped with computers to avail instant search on electoral roll and help voters in getting their booth and other related information. Earlier State EC introduced SMS helpline for voters offering booth information on sms request.
