30th April:
Khandesh's 30% farmers benefited from Cotton rate increase:
This season cotton buying began at 2,200 - 2,400 price band per
quintal and this increased to 2,700 in January. Cotton is being currently
traded in small quantity at 2,650 - 2,750 price range. State sponsored
CCI cotton buying failed to attract farmers this year and could buy
hardly a few thousand quintal of cotton throughout season.
District Village cleanliness drive results announced:
Saint Gadge Baba Village Cleanliness drive 2007-08 results for Jalgaon
district are out. Beed District valuation committee evaluated district's
various villages and have announced best Village Panchayat, best School
Award, best Anganwadi and best slum area awards. Announced prizes
are as under:
The cleanliness drive had 27 villages, 14 schools and Anganwadi and
39 slum areas filling nominations.

Rice and soya included in essential commodities - Traders required
to opt license:
State Government has notified Rice, edible oil and soya amongst essential
commodities following Central directives to curb rising inflation.
This has led to compulsory licensing module for each and every wholesale
trader from respective Tahsil office. No traders could sell these
essential commodities unless licensed. Authorities would shortly intimate
on quantity allowed to stock and dispose.
Mega blood donation camp from Chemist Association on 01st May:
District chemist association is conducting a mega blood donation camp
at Gayatri temple in Visanji Nagar on eve of Panchamukhi Gayatri temple
Radhakisan Wadi, Veer Hanuman temple, Ganpati temple and Labor Day.
Association expects around 400 bottles of blood collection. Association
has plans to honor negative RH factor blood donors along with regular
donors.
29th April:
6,253 candidates in MH-CET 2008:
Jalgaon district's 6,253 candidates are appearing in MH-CET entrance
exam for Engineering, Health and Pharmacy. Authorities have set up
22 centers throughout region and have enforced 37(1) and 37(3) of
Bombay Police Act, 1951. Exam is from 9AM until 5.30PM.
District gets Rs. 86 Crores allocation in State Budget this year:
Jalgaon district has received Rs. 86 Crores provisions in current
year's State Budget. District Planning and Development Committee met
yesterday and reviewed various updates on works. This allocation includes
Anganwadi building construction, river-linking project and many other
works.
Writ petition in Aurangabad bench of Mumbai High Court for conducting
JDCC election:
Mumbai High Court Aurangabad bench has received a writ petition from
a few of Bank's earlier body members demanding conducting of fresh
election. The Bank is being ruled by Co-operative Board since 10th
April 2003 and its term ends in 5 years. Bench would have primary
hearing on 30th April.
Jalgaon's three chess players to participate in International
Chess competition:
Sports Academy Jalgaon rising Chess stars Pratik Patil, Dhruva Shah
and Afrin Deshpande have moved for International School Chess Competition
in 7-17 years age group. Maharashtra's 13 players have been selected
for this competition.
28th April:
Girana and Tapi Rivers amongst 71 top polluted rivers in Country:
Central Pollution Control Board in its survey of all Rivers in India
has revealed Girana and Tapi Rivers as amongst Country' top 71 polluted
Rivers. The list also includes nearby flowing Godavari River. Authorities
have formulated National River Conservation Plan and conducted national
level drive for massive cleanliness.
Banana rates continue to dip further:
Good inflow of Mango and orange in Northern India has dipped banana
demands leading to rates fall by almost 300 rupees in last fortnight.
Banana is being traded at Rs. 280 with difference of 10 i.e. at 340
Rs. per quintal. Last year banana rate was at Rs. 816 per quintal.
Tapi River Bridge work in final phase in Bhusawal:
The Bhusawal City adjacent Tapi River bridge expansion work is in
final phase. The expansion plan has 29 blocks in Bridge. This bridge
connects Bhusawal city to Faizpur, Savda, Raver, Nimbhora, Yaval and
Other places in district and expansion would ease traffic load in
area. Work began in December 2007 and is likely to complete by May
end.
Jalgaon People's Bank wins Best Co-operative Bank Award:
Jalgaon People's Co-operative Bank Ltd. Jalgaon has won Maharashtra
State Co-operative Banks association Nashik revenue division's Padmabhushan
Late V. Patil Best Co-operative Bank Award for third consecutive year.
27th April:
Bhusawal heat waves intensify further - touches 46.5 degrees:
Bhusawal city mercury is rising every day. Central Water Commission
has recorded maximum temperature of 46.5 degree centigrade. Minimum
temperature was 26 degree centigrade and humidity recorded was 46%.
Central Government Science and Technology department avails Rs.
13.92 Lakhs fund to NMU professors:
North Maharashtra University Bio-Sensor project has received Rs. 13.92
Lakhs grant from Central Government Science and Technology Department.
This project is from Department of Life Sciences and is being jointly
undertaken with industrial support to produce professional production.
Second phase for this project would like receive 30 to 35 Lakhs.
26th April:
Mercury eases by a degree - still at State highest:
Jalgaon's harsh summer days are here. Whole district is witnessing
heat waves since last week in tense form. Temperature touched 46 degrees
a day before in many places in district affecting lives severely.
Deepnagar Transformer blast causes electricity chaos:
Bhusawal Thermal power station current transformer yesterday blasted
leading to non-functioning of 3 different units. This caused power
outages for around 1 hour in whole district at around 8PM. Unit also
caught fire with oil. Fire brigade authorities controlled fire immediately.
Paldhi Sai Baba Temple 'Brahmottsav' festivity ends today:
Sai Baba Temple Paldhi is celebrating its fifth anniversary and has
organized 'Brahmotsav' festivity on this eve. Event had various enchanting
from renowned singers and would end today on third day with various
worshipping activities today.
Corporation announces ban on swimming in Mehrun Lake:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation administration has announced ban
on swimming in Mehrun Lake following six deaths in recent 15 days
time. It is shortly putting a notice board in this regards and is
also introducing security guard to keep a watch on it.
ZP health and women welfare department to avail medicines to 1-6
age groups:
Jalgaon district council (ZP) Health and Women welfare department
is conducting a special drive in whole district to avail medicines
to 1-6 age group children. Authorities also plan to avail Vitamin
A dose to boost children health in region. This distribution would
begin from 01st May.
24th & 25th April:
Mercury raises further - Touches 46 degree centigrade in Bhusawal:
Jalgaon's hard times are here. Jalgaon and Bhusawal city temperature
has risen to 46 degrees yesterday. Intense heating has raise to heat
stroke, typhoid, diarrhea and other diseases. District's other places
like Amalner and Raver also had 46 degree centigrade on scale.
Jalgaon's 4 youth drowns in Mehrun Lake:
Four school boys went for swimming in Mehrun Lake drowned in Mehrun
Lake. In another incidence a schoolboy drown in Shirsoli Lake. A group
of 7-8 students went for swimming in Lake and these four trapped in
deep water in Lake. All four drown are from Chougle Plot area in Jalgaon.
Chopda curfew withdrawn - Violent turnout led to death of two:
Chopda city witnessed sudden violent turnout on Tuesday night during
a marriage procession. This led to death of two after severe injuries
and two others are injured and admit in hospital. Police have arrested
32 and booked 53 in this connection as of now.
Administration has imposed Curfew in city to maintain Law and Order
situation and most shops and markets remained closed after opening
of curfew. Raver violence wounds are still alive for Jalgaon district
and this second continued incidence has hurt to severe pro-commune
feelings and appreciations.
District Police has appealed citizens not to get in with any of rumors
and help Police maintain Law and Order situation. Police also conducted
a meeting of Peace committee and discussed various implementation
measures.
Water woes - Seven dam touches zero level:
Region's seven medium to small sized dam have turned zero and this
factor is likely to impact water supplies during peak monsoon in May.
Jalgaon city currently has water reservation in Girana dam and the
dam has 23% while Hatnur has 36% water storage. District had 90% rainfall
last year and is likely to witness good raining this year also. Administration
has estimated water shortage in 120+ villages in region.
District body building team wins runner up award in Nashik:
Jalgaon district team has won runner up award in Nashik district association
conducted body building competition. District body builders won two
gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal along with 4th and 5th
rank in respective groups totaling to 97 points. District wrestler
Saji Kureshi won Best Poser Award in competition.
23rd April:
Corporation general body meeting on Road developments review:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation General Body met yesterday to discuss
various road developmental issues on its agenda. Corporation's major
hurdle in getting good quality roads has been insufficient funds availability,
delay in paying for works and increasing political co-influence factor.
Jalgaon city has 430kms of road development as of now and planning
suggest requirement of total of 1,800Kms and Rs. 900 Crores for doing
so.
Body has approved 7 resolutions and urged administration to complete
road works before monsoon raining. Body has approved resolutions to
build level-1 roads in no roads areas, setting up good quality roads
in existing level-1 roads. Practical implementation of discussion
and good funding are a few of key challenges for Corporation administration.
Heat waves beats life in Jalgaon and Bhusawal - Mercury touches
45:
Bhusawal city yesterday recorded season's highest of 45 degree centigrade
followed by Jalgaon with 44.5 degree centigrade. Meteorological department
has reported this to be State's highest temperature for yesterday.
Continued heating and harsh waves has sent panic signals to whole
region with May month yet to arrive.
Banana rates drop by 300 rupees as compared to last year rates:
Continuously increasing heat waves in Jalgaon district and northern
India is leading to good productivity of banana in region. Lowering
demands has slipped rates by 300 Rs. per quintal this year and banana
has witnessed fall of 125 Rs. per quintal in mere 8 days. Banana touched
it's highest of 816 per quintal on 24th April and is at Rs. 450 as
of now.
Belganga to end sugarcane processing by 27th April:
Bhoras Chalisgaon based Belganga Sugar factory is discontinuing its
sugarcane processing for this season from 27th April. Factory has
nearly 5,000 metric tones of sugarcane in stock as of now and would
end the same by 26th April. Farmers in factory region have expressed
dissatisfaction on this decision as they claim to have 40,000 metric
tones of stock still lying with farmers.
22nd April:
Corporation General Body first-ever special meeting on Road development
works:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation General Body is meeting today to
discuss various road developmental works in progress. Administration
has for first time called such meeting to discuss on roads and Jalgaonities
expect broader discussion and vision on road development in whole
city including internal areas and link roads. Corporation has ample
funds from 10th, 11th and 12th Finance commission grants and right
visionary discussions here could turn city's face.
Bhusawal temperature reaches 44.5 degrees:
Entire district continues to witness intense summer heat. Bhusawal
city yesterday has season's highest 44.5 degree centigrade temperature
while Jalgaon had 42 degree centigrade. Extreme heat is paralyzing
life in afternoon times in whole region.
ZP education committee meeting today:
Jalgaon district council education committee is meeting today to discuss
various topics on its agenda. Amongst top issues include relaxing
long term transfer of husband - wife in multiple districts, to change
teacher training timing to morning schedule along with banning use
of mobile phones by teachers during teaching.
Bhagyesh and Yashaswini wins first prize in Under-10 swimming
competition:
Bhagyesh Chaudhari won first in boys with Yashaswini Sisodia in girls
in district amateur swimmer association and water sports jointly conducted
Sun rock to Gateway of India 5kms swimming competition. Bhagyesh completed
in 58 minutes while Yashaswini completed in 1.12 hours.
Jalgaon boys win State under-19 cricket competition by defeating
Jalna:
Jalgaon players have outshined in Under-19 State cricket competition
by defeating Jalna team by 6 wickets at Nashik. Jalna scored 174 in
60.2 over with Jalgaon's Dhaval taking 4 and Rahul taking 3 wickets.
In response Jalgaon scored 162 runs in first inning with 52 from Shashank
and 30 from Sumant.
Jalna bowled out in second inning on mere 81 runs with Chandan Ranave
taking 4 and Chandan Wani taking 3 wickets. Jalgaon scored this target
of 94 runs in 19 over and added 5 points to its score table.
21st April:
Mahendra Lunkad to receive Dadasaheb Falke Award:
Rajkamal Theatre Jalgaon owner Mahendra Lunkad has been nominated
for Dadasaheb Falke Award fort he year for his outstanding services
to film industry. Award ceremony is on 30th April at Mumbai and this
is first ever honoring for Khandesh in film arena.
Rajkamal theatre is serving Jalgaon since 1963 and he has been treasurer
for film distributors and exhibitors central circuit cine association.
He also chairs Jalgaon films exhibitors association and is honorary
secretary of district films association.
Ajanta, Ellora and other ancient archives get weather stations:
Archeological survey of India in association with ISRO has setup automated
weather stations at Ajanta and Ellora caves under World heritage conservation
week. This would avail hourly update on all heritages throughout country
at a glance and would take readings as well.
Center has been setup at small lake on Waghur River in Ajanta and
is near cave# 29 in Ellora. This center takes data of 50kms periphery
and would avail temperature, humidity, impact of sunrays, weather
understanding and air pressure reading. It would enable authorities
to plan for disaster management well in time and are being introduced
based on UNESCO demand to setup.
20th April:
Mission dispute-free Jalgaon district - district rating from 01st
May:
Jalgaon district's 67 villages having received 150 points to completely
resolve disputes have qualified for special State award under Mahatma
Gandhi dispute-free State mission. District's 137 villages have 100-137
points rating in this mission and a special state committee is arriving
in Jalgaon from 01st May for reviewing. This mission ends on 30th
April and district committee formed for boosting this mission's activities
met yesterday to review updates.
District has a hoping 62,665 disputes registered with different authorities
as on 30th September 2007 and local administrative authorities in
aligned efforts with respective Police stations have succeeded in
settling 20,818 disputes. List has Chopda taluka on top with 3,470
settled of 9,047 and Pachora on lowest with 902 settled of 1,576.
Sindhi community organized Laughter show today in Jalgaon:
Sindhi Community Mandal is conducting a laughter show in Jalgaon today
on eve of Chetri-Chand festivity. Show is from 6.30PM onwards at Hardasram
Hall in Sindhi Colony and would have Yogiraj Jain, Suresh Mishra from
Mumbai, Surendra Yadvendra (Dhar), Ghanshyam Agrawal (Akola) and Mrs.
Sabiya Asar (Bhopal) as key personalities presenting.
District council standing committee meeting review:
Jalgaon district council (ZP) standing committee met yesterday and
reviewed various topics on its agenda. Committee has decided to call
statements of its owned land and implement special plans to improve
its earnings. It also plans to develop 'C Type' pilgrimage centers
in district. ZP has recently received State directive to approve Rs.
25 Lakhs every taluka with special exception of Pachora to get 50
Lakhs and committee has now approved 5 Crores for this allocation.
Committee plans to approve Jhipru Anna temple Nashirabad, Tamaswadi
rural temple renovation and flyover bridges in various areas.
District committee on farmer suicide approves 4 new financial
aid proposals:
Farmer suicide cases are rapidly increasing in Jalgaon. District committee
formed to aid families of farmers committing suicides continue to
receive proposals for the same and has tight selective parameters.
Committee received 12 proposals in February and March 2008 and had
approved mere 4 proposals in its meeting yesterday and rejected 7
and kept one pending. Committee has district Collectorate along with
all Tahsildar, sub-divisional officers, sub-divisional police officers,
district council CEO, district agricultural superintendent and ZP
agricultural committee head along with farmer representatives as members.
Administration has sent proposals worth 85 Lakhs until now to State
government under this plan.
19th April:
Forestry Department reports 5 leopards in Patnadevi forests:
District forestry department has reported 5 leopards existence in
Patnadevi forestry area covering Patna, Lambdari and Junpani forests.
Authorities have appealed for cautious move as these could attack
human beings if faced. Region's only rich dense Gautala forestry has
large number of wild boars (Randukkar), peacocks and Nilgay (Boselaphus
tragocamelus). Authorities have taken up developmental plans for this
forestry and are looking forward to further development.
Forestry has Forestry Act 1972 enforced banning entry of human beings
from 6PM until 6AM in forestry zone. This region also has ancient
times Patnadevi temple and authorities have 4 nights open entries
for devotees for temple.
RL group opens up Surat branch:
Jalgaon district's one of renowned Jeweler Rajmal Lakhichand group
has opened up mega seven-story retail outlet in Surat. The showroom
would have large variety of gold, diamond ornaments, silver ornaments
along with stones. Group has already set up its base in Pune and Kolhapur
and this is first out of Maharashtra unit.
District gets 45 Crores fund for rejuvenating multi-services societies:
JDCC bank has received 45.60 Crores fund for availing financial aid
to 250 societies having more than 50% recovery as per Vaidyanathan
Committee report. These societies avail financial assistance to farmers,
agricultural businesses. Many of these facilities huge outstanding
following many natural calamities during recent years and this State
special package aims at rejuvenating all these societies.
State Co-operative department has A grade for above 50% recovery,
B grade for 30-50% recoveries and C grade for below 30% and is based
on year 2004 special audit. There are 320 out of 877 various services
societies in district having reported mounted losses and went down.
Jalgaon defeats Latur in Inter-district cricket competition:
Jalgaon team has defeated Latur by first inning 37 runs lead in MCA
conducted Open State Cricket competition at Nashik. With this Jalgaon's
score has reached 17. Jalgaon scored 248 runs in 66 over in first
inning with Tanvir scoring 66, Ganesh with 51 runs, Abhishek with
45 runs and Varun chipping 30 runs. In response, Latur bowled out
on 211 runs in 63 over with Ninad taking five and Javed taking 3 wickets.
18th April:
Greetings on eve of Mahavir Jayanti today
Post-constituency delimitation scenario - Pachora and Bhadgaon
taluka:
Pachora and Bhadgaon taluka would not get two MLA and this would lead
to good development around. Pachora MLA Constituency earlier having
22 villages from Chalisgaon is now restored back to Chalisgaon making
it a fully independent constituency.
A few of places from Pachora are now connected to Jamner constituency
and Bhadgaon - Pachora are combined to form a constituency. Bhadgaon's
44 places have been included in Pachora constituency. Earlier Bhadgaon
- Parola constituency merged to Erandol - Pachora.
Central Election Commission approves Raver constituency's new
plan:
Delimitation Commission announced new Raver legislative council constituency
plan prepared by district authorities have been approved by Central
Election Commission with minor amendments. Central authorities are
visiting Jalgaon to on 25th April to observe Electoral photo identity
card issue process. Administration is now updating structure as per
new plan and has called a meeting of election concerned officers on
19th April.
District-level Teacher training programme announced:
State Education Research and Training Council have announced teacher's
training programme schedule for May and June month. It includes taluka-level
and district level training program. This training is mandatory for
Class III to VII teachers as these classes are being introduced with
new syllabus.
District's 3 skaters selected in State team:
Jalgaon district's 3 skaters have been selected in State team to participate
in National competition to be played in Pune. They qualified for this
competition by wining in Open Roll ball skating competition. This
includes Reena Badgujar, Jagruti Kale and Ashley Nathani.
17th April:
District businesses confederation rages back on District supply authorities:
Jalgaon District businesses confederation has reverted back with rage
to district supply authorities began raids against traders of essential
commodities. The association has blamed mess up by authorities and
is not taking proper check up of stocks before initiating any of actions
and is creating media hypes to spread panic in traders.
District Confederation represents 110 trade associations and over
10,000 traders. Moreover the licensing process with administration
is pretty harder taking lot of times and other expenses to get it.
District agricultural authorities presents Kharip plan:
Jalgaon district council agricultural department has presented year
2008-09 Kharip plantation plan to divisional authorities. Authorities
have set a target of above 4 Lakh hectares cultivation for cotton
and 322,800 hectares for grains. District Kharip cultivation would
begin within 1-2 months from now and this plan enacts as ground work
for administrative authorities to avail necessary support.
District water levels go down in 4 taluka:
District authorities have recently conducted survey in March of 66
irrigable areas and 178 well and has reported sharp decline in water
levels at Bodwad, Dharangaon, Amalner and Chalisgaon. Bodwad has 1.7meters
decline, Dharangaon 1.15meters, Amalner had 1.5 meters and Chalisgaon
had 1.3meters decline and rest have small decreases.
Ravi Dashputre wins Open Chess Competition:
Ravi Dashputre has won District youth chess association conducted
open chess competition by seconding rated players. He secured 7 points
followed by Hardik Mehta on second with 7 points and Pratik Patil
with 6.
16th April:
Corporation General Body resolutions to cancel Octroi and Cess and
demands State grants:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation General body meeting yesterday
had a unanimous resolution demanding State Government to cancel Octroi
and Cess Tax and avail State grants to Corporation. This might be
State's First Corporation to have made such resolution amidst intense
protest from trade communities. Trade associations and traders are
having panic on newly introduced Cess Tax having bitter taxing to
that of Octroi.
Cess empowers Corporation to collect Tax on total turnover of trade
irrespective of fact whether goods have been brought inside city as
that in Octroi. In other words, this would straight away increase
inflation in city areas and Tahsil and taluka levels would become
more competitive to that of district-level ones.
Raver normalises after 36 hours - 6 more arrested:
Raver city has normalised after Sunday's intense violence resulting
in severe disorder in region. Police have arrested a total of 58 persons
in this connection until now and continues to patrol during night
times.
Corporation general body meeting review:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation General Body meeting yesterday
discussed various developmental issues. Body has approved setting
up 65 public toilets in city with 27 Pay-and-Use services and initiate
pending developmental works at city crematorium. Meeting also honored
City's many personalities doing outstanding work in various areas.
Amongst major points approved includes shifting of slums opposite
Jalgaon Milk Union and Choughule Mala into Pimprala Hudco area, naming
Corporation swimming tank with Tukdoji Maharaj and naming Mahabal
Colony Chowk and Ring road open space to Saint Dnyaneshwar Chowk.
Body has approved availing 5,800 square meters of open space acquired
by Corporation in Brook Bond Colony on Ring road to Adv. Baheti Educational
trust for opening up Primary school and sports ground. Body has also
resolved to collect alleged Housing case advocate fees from earlier
Commissioner having filed case.
JDCC yet to start Crop loans for 2008-09:
Jalgaon district's apex co-operative bank JDC Bank is yet to start
its New Year crop loans. Bank earlier announced its policy stating
availability of loan only to those having cleared at least 75% of
earlier loans. District's mere 10% societies have cleared this eligibility
and 700+ have even not paid dues yet. Bank is yet not clear on Central
policy of loan debt waiver and hence is opting for wait and watch
policy.
Madhukar Sugar factory receives Sugar export Order:
Madhukar Co-operative Sugar factory has received first ever order
of sugar exports of 10,000 metric tones S-30 grade 99.8 degrees colorization
worth 12.50 Crores. This order is through State Trading Corporation
(STC) Kolkata and would be dispatched to Singapore and Colombo. Factory
has availed Sugar at Rs. 12.50 as its bulk export and would also receive
Government subsidy for exports of sugar.
15th April:
Bhusawal touches 44 degrees:
Bhusawal city yesterday witnessed season's highest temperature on
scale with mercury touching 44 degree centigrade. Central water commission
has reported this temperature yesterday. Jalgaon had 42.4 degree centigrade
temperature yesterday.
Raver, Savda APMC trading on indefinite strike following raids
by Administration:
District administration raids on stocking grains and commodities and
booking criminal offensive is leading to severe rage in trading communities.
As a result most of traders have initiated indefinite strike against
this policy and there is no grain being bought. This has caused losses
of Crores to farmers and huge inflow is lying in APMCs. Local politicians
are yet to wake up on this issue and traders are witness turmoil on
non-practical policies on trading systems.
Raver continues to be violent - 52 arrested:
Raver continues to witness violent turnout with an auto-rickshaw burnt
down in Kotwal Wada yesterday after opening up of curfew. Tahsil authorities
have estimated losses of 40 Lakhs during violence on Sunday. Police
have booked 3 cases in this violence and religious feeling hurting
was main cause of entire episode.
14th April:
Curfew imposed in Raver - Stone pelting, looting tenses:
Raver city yesterday evening witnessed violent turnout on suddenly
stone pelting on Ram Navami Lord Rama Palakhi. This stone pelting
led to intense clashes between two groups in Chawdi area of city leading
to severe damages to 5-6 houses, 4 vehicles burnt. Pelting had stones
and bricks heavily used.
Police fired 32 rounds in air to control situation and had 10-12 Policemen
including officers injured during situation control. Police has finally
imposed Curfew during until 7AM today morning and initiated measures
to attack and investigate in whole case. Tahsil office would estimate
losses today. District Police has called special teams from Nashik,
Malegaon rural, Dhule and Nandurbar districts and taken Bhusawal and
Burhanpur fire brigades help to control fire. It has sounded RED ALERT
in Jalgaon district following Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti immediately after
this incidence today.
District's 18 villages under tanker water supply:
Jalgaon district's 18 villages have now moved to Tanker water supply.
Administration has acquired 54 well in district to smoothen the supply.
This includes Chalisgaon taluka at top with its 10 villages in acute
shortage with few of Bhadgaon and Jamner villages also facing shortages.
District Civil surgeon to have fund rights up to 1 Lakh:
District civil surgeon would now have rights to avail special fund
sanctions up to Rs. 1 Lakh under "Jeevandayi" Scheme. Public
health department has availed this right to every district civil surgeon.
District sports federation conducted summer camp begins from Tuesday:
Jalgaon district sports federation conducted first summer camp is
beginning from Tuesday, 15th April. Camp has 28 games and 3 age groups
and begins every day at 6.30AM until 10.30AM and then 4.30PM until
6.30PM. Federation has received wonderful response for the camp with
almost 225 players registered by now.

Jalgaon boys' team has won 4-0 dominating victory on Thane team in
State open catgory roll ball skating competition at Aurangabad. Jalgaon
girls lost their match to Aurangabad. Boys' team included Vishal More,
Arpit Behede, Aditya Khachne, Shubham Gujrathi, Vishal Jawaharani,

12th April:
Bhusawal heats further - Touches 42.5 degrees:
Central Water Commission Bhusawal unit has recorded 42.5 degree Celsius
temperature in Bhusawal city yesterday. Minimum temperature was 23
degree Celsius and humidity was 42%. Jalgaon yesterday had maximum
of 41.1 degree Celsius and minimum of 24.5 degree Celsius temperature.
Farmers to agitate demanding State grains buying center:
District farmers are beginning their protest agitation against State
policies stopping buying of farmer grains through its Centers. Farmers
are planning for Road-block protests. Recently traders at APMC in
various taluka stopped buying grains as District Supply authorities
began raids on stocking traders. Traders fears of un-necessary pain
in process of raids as administrative authorities are filling criminal
offenses and seizing goods.
State has announced 1,100 per quintal rate for grain and farmers have
marked this buying break mess on State policies.
District supply authorities continue raids at traders:
District traders and business are amidst one of most drastic and painful
experiences with district supply authorities continuing full swing
raids on various units throughout district. Authorities are checking
up food grain godowns and seizing the same with criminal offenses
booked on traders.
Funniest part on government front is none of the authorities have
clear definitions of stocks in trade and limits of stocks could be
kept with a practical angle to trading process. Authorities raided
and seized 6,000 bags of grains in Raver. Traders have marked this
raid as illegal and are moving in Courts to fight against it.
Inter-divisional Railways tennis ball cricket competition at Bhusawal:
All India SC-ST Railway employees association Bhusawal is conducting

Traders' marks strong protest to District supply department raids:
Stops buying at APMC:
Jalgaon district traders and business associations have marked strong
rage over district supply department conducted raids on traders marking
it illegal and anti-business. The district supply department has raised
raids to check extra stocking causing inflation in region. Jalgaon,
Chalisgaon, Pachora and Amalner agricultural produces marketing committee
traders have stopped buying grains as a protest to this. Trade associations
have marked this inflation responsibility on government taxation policies
and raiding as illegal and harassment only.
Mercury touches 40 in Jalgaon:
Harsh summer signs are reflecting on Jalgaon roads in afternoon times.
Jalgaon city and Bhusawal are witnessing significant increase in mercury
scale in last week with mercury rising from 35 degrees to 40s yesterday.
Bhusawal had 41.5 degree centigrade temperature yesterday.
Belganga and Vasant sugar factories to pay 7.26 Crores dues to
farmers:
Jalgaon district's Belganga and Vasant Sugar factories are in process
to pay due 7.26 Crores amount towards sugarcane availed by farmers
in this season. Madhukar and Chopda sugar factories have paid dues
until 26th March. This includes 3.26 Crores from Vasant and Belganga's
4 Crores.
Collectorate enforces 37(1) and 37(3) from 13th April:
Jalgaon district Collectorate is imposing Bombay Police Act 1951 section
37(1) and 37(3) from 13th until 25th April to maintain Law and Order
situation. Period has Ambedkar Jayanti on 14th and would have 15 days
festivity during this period.
District sports federation announces summer camp at Rs. 200:
Jalgaon district sports federation has entered in sports with a bang.
It has announced lowest ever costing Rs. 201/- for summer special
camp for district's sports fraternity. Camp is from 15th April until
18th May at district stadium and would have Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Athletics,
Ball Badminton, Softball, fencing, baseball, Atyapatya, Skating, Basketball,
handball, football, hockey, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, swimming,
chess, carom, cricket, Archery, rope pulling, rifle shooting, taekwondo
and wrestling. Camp age groups are 3-6 years age, 6-10 years and 11-15
age groups. Applications would be availed from tomorrow.
10th April:
Khandesh warming - Forestry department reports 50 Lakhs smuggling
of woods:
State social forestry department has reported Khandesh region having
Satpuda hilly regions had smuggling of tree woods estimated at 40
Lakhs in Jalgaon district, 13 Lakhs in Nandurbar and 2.50 Lakhs in
Dhule district. Jalgaon has Jalgaon and Yaval as two forestry divisions
with 85,000 hectares area under forestry with 82,125.35 hectares in
Yaval division alone.
Department has reported whopping 68,000 hectares area forestry cut
down and encroached. Yaval division's 15,000 trees have been cut down
and woods have smuggled to nearby State and districts.

BJP wins majority in Jamner Municipal Council election:
BJP led alliance won 15 out of 20 seats in Jamner municipal council
election. Ruling NCP has won mere 3 seats and Congress-I won rest
2 seats. Election had 73.26% voting and has led to change over phase
for ruling party.
Election stats suggest division of votes from ruling party as both
NCP and Congress fight election on their own. This is second five-year
term election for Jamner council.
Corporation general body meeting on Tuesday:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation is conducting its general body

Jamner Municipal Council election witnesses 73% voting:
Jamner Municipal Council election voting process went smooth and had
73.26% voting yesterday. In all 20,965 out of 27,965 voters exercised
their voting right. Vote counting has begun today at I.T.I building
from 8AM and results are expected to come out by 12PM.
Sindhi Community Chetri-Chand celebrated:
District Sindhi Panchayat and Saint Kanwarram Trust conducted ferry
in district on eve of community's New Year Chetri-Chand celebration.
Procession began in Fule market on 4PM and passed through Tower, Dana

District democracy day: 66 complaints received:
Jalgaon district Collectorate has received 66 complaints on eve of
Democracy day on Monday. This includes 20 from revenue departments,
11 from ZP, 12 from District Police, 9 from Co-operative department,
4 from Electricity Company, 2 from Corporation, 1 from Irrigation
department and 2 from Land records and others with 5.
District supply authorities begin check in city:
Jalgaon district supply authorities have initiated flying squad visits
at many essential commodities selling shops in district. This is as
per State directive to control rising inflation on account of storages
and black marketing of commodities like grains and pulses. State's
recent directive allows only 1,500 quintals with wholesaler and mere
75 quintals with retailer along with 50 quintals of pulses with wholesaler
and 25 quintals with retail traders. Business community has marked
rage on this bureaucracy hype and hold government policies, taxing
as sole responsibility on rising inflation.
Residential sports camp at NMU:
North Maharashtra University is conducting a 15 days residential sports
camp from 16th until 30th May at its sports stadium. Event has two
sessions and allows students from its affiliated colleges. Camp has

Jamner municipal Council election is being conducted today. District
administration has made adequate arrangements for smooth conduct of

Male-Female ration reduces drastically in 12 Taluka:
Jalgaon district's 12 out of 15 taluka have drastic reduction in male-female
ration as per recent State survey. Raver has 905 female to that of
932 earlier, Yaval - 915 (937), Chopda - 899 (934), Amalner - 878
(927), Dharangaon - 873 (932), Jalgaon - 851 (911), Bhusawal - 872
(926), MuktaiNagar - 889 (942), Bodwad - 908 (923), Bhadgaon - 878
(914), Pachora - 887 (928), Jamner - 882 (936) and Chalisgaon - 865
(923). Jalgaon is on top of the alarming list with figure continuing
to reduce.
ZP earns 46 Crores revenue in 2007-08:
Jalgaon district council (ZP) has earned 46 Crores revenue to that
of targeted 44 Crores in financial year 2007-08. Earlier it earned
37 Crores in 2006-07. This year earnings include 24.95 Crores in taxes,
20.95 Crores in minerals and entertainment taxes and has also recovered
16.22 Lakhs of loans in rehabilitation schemes.
Central Railways Bhusawal division earns 602 Crores:
Central Railways Bhusawal division has posted a profit of 602.30 Crores
during financial year 2007-08. This earning is 24 Crores higher compared
to last year. It has earned 578 Crores last year and set a target
of 625 Crores. It has lost around 3-4 Crores on account of banana
transporting halted for more than 3 months on this ground.

Jalgaon's apex co-operative Bank JDCC Bank has a reason to rejoice
in this financial year as it has broken 1,500 Crores Deposits. Bank
has now set up ambitious target of 2,500 Crores Deposits in coming
5 years. Bank is currently under co-operative board administration
and has reported diversion of co-operative societies and banks deposits

Inflation rises in Jalgaon district:
Jalgaon district's inflation indices have hiked. The recent monthly
survey conducted by State authorities has shown higher increase. District
had inflation index at 624 in February and has now risen to 626. Consumer
index is 1024-283.
Jalgaon district's two Lakh citizens to receive Palm Oil and pulses
subsidized rates benefits:
State Government's recent announcement to avail subsidized rates palm
oil and pulses would benefit two Lakh citizens from district. State
is yet to announce its distribution policy for these products and
is likely to distribute the same through its rationing shops. Government
discontinued this scheme 7 years back and has introduced this year
to aid weaker section in increasing inflation.

JDCC Bank announces Crop loan policy for 2008-09:
JDCC Bank has announced its crop loan policy for year 2008-09 Kharip,
Rubby crops. This year's policy has special consideration to earlier
debt clearing farmers only. All earlier repayment cleared farmers
would be eligible to get these loans. Policy has 7,000 per hectare
first installment of and second of 4,000 per hectare after inspection.

Jamner municipal council elections status review:
Jamner city is witnessing political buzz on eve of municipal council
elections. Administration has imposed Bombay Police Act 1951 section

Central committee to visit Jalgaon on 10th April for "Nirmal
Gram Award":
Central Government committee is visiting Jalgaon district on 10th
April to visit and survey 76 villages having filed nominations for
"Nirmal Gram Award". District administration yesterday conducted
a review meeting to get updates on cleanliness preparations taken.
The award has schools and Anganwadi Cleanliness, good hygiene for
everyone, no disputes, waste management, worm compost plants, public
awareness drive for cleanliness and overall village levels as key
parameters of evaluation. Winning village would get award from President
of India. Last year district's 7 out of 22 nominated villages received
this award.

Jalgaon's rural deity Lord Rama temple trust is celebrating Ram-Navmi

District sports federation to demand office in District sports
stadium:
Newly formed Jalgaon district sports federation general body met yesterday
to discuss updates on various issues. The federation is planning to
conduct uniform-level summer camps from 15th April until 15th May
and is also sending request to district administration to allocate
office at newly built district stadium. Its body is meeting on 07th
April to finalise on the summer camp.
03rd April:
Pimprala to get Waghur water by May:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation administration is exploring likely
possibility of availing Waghur dam water to Pimprala zone. Pimprala
zone is currently facing water shortage and gets water every 3 days.
Corporation administration is working around on pipe lines laying
for Waghur dam water connectivity in this zone.
Jalgaon district to get 65.40 Crores for Road development:
State Government has approved 65.40 Crores for road development in
Jalgaon district. The New Year budget has special provision of Rs.
11.74 Crores as immediate fund availability for these works. The District
Public Works department had earlier submitted its proposal demand
road development funds to State unit. This approval includes 11 State
roads and bridges on these roads, 43 District and other roads under
State scheme, 22 projects in backward areas, 20 in minimum requirement
programs, and 41 under NABARD scheme.
Newly proposed roads are Jalgaon - Pachora - Satgaon, Nashirabad -
Sunasgaon - Kurha to Bodwad, Ankleshwar - Burhanpur, Yeola - Nandgaon
- Bahal, Arvi - Parola, Savkheda Fata - Erandol - Neri - Jamner, MuktaiNagar
- Khamkhed - Vadoda, Pahur - Jamner - MuktaiNagar and Amalner - Chopda
- Vaijapur. Approval also includes large bridges works of Deulwade
- Asoda, Sakri - Jadgaon, Nimgaon - Boraval, Khadka - Sakri, Bamnod
- Mahswadi, Dhar - Marwad, Kajgaon - Gondgaon, Parola - Hanumankheda
and Yaval - Satod.
ZP receives 29 Crores as Project funds on March end:
Jalgaon district council (ZP) has received hefty funds of 29 Crores
and 24 Lakhs towards various developmental schemes implementation.
This includes pilgrimage development scheme fund, hilly areas development
at 7 Lakhs, irrigation projects fund of Rs. 2.5 Crores and Cess at
1.5 Crores.
District administration collects revenues of 46 Crores in year:
Jalgaon district administration has earned 46 Crores revenue throughout
financial year 2007-08. It was assigned with target of 44 Crores.
Administration has earned hefty amount on selling of natural resources
like minerals and sand by auctioning.
02nd April:
Cottonomics 2007-08 ends in region:
Jalgaon division's State sponsored CCI cotton buying has ended at
all centers with a total of 126,356 quintals cotton buying. This year
cotton buying had very low response to State guaranteed rate buying
following offering of low rates as compared to that by private buyers.
Division had only 6 centers in this season and all have been closed
on 15th March.
State offered 1,920 to 2,030 per quintal while private buyers offered
2,500 to 2,600 cash rates based on quality. Private buyers have bought
around 40 Lakh quintals of cotton in this season.

Mercury touches 43 in Bhusawal:
Intense summer heat wave continues to harass Jalgaonities. It has
yesterday touch 43 degree centigrade in Bhusawal city. City has been
witnessing 42 degrees since last week. Jalgaon city as such has mixed
climate. Morning times have cold waives while afternoon has rising
heat.
Demand of Bambhori barrage for Jalgaon taluka water supplies:
Jalgaonities have raised demand of setting up barrage in Bambhori
on Old National Highway. This barrage could serve water supplies to
Jalgaon, Jalgaon taluka, Erandol, Pachora and Bhadgaon taluka. Corporation
spending Crores would have saved a lot by this barrage construction
and would have been benefited through good water availability on Girana
River flowing here. Corporation already has water supply lines laid
in Girana River and this project would have turned bliss for whole
region on dreaming of 24-hours water supplies.
Employment guarantee scheme works start today in Jalgaon:
District administration is implementing State employment guarantee
scheme from today. It has registered 200,753 labors until now and
has proposed works worth 36,314.5 Lakhs in water conservation, road
and repair works. This scheme is in par with National rural guarantee
scheme 2005.
District associations to follow 5 points for availing 25 marks
in exams:
District Sports Authority has received State directorate order to
comply with 5 points for availing 25 marks to sportsmen in SSC and
HSC exams. The compliance has total of 22 points requirement from
sports associations. Sports getting marks benefit include fencing,
athletics, carom, rifle shooting, badminton, Mallakhamb, Kabaddi,
Kho-Kho, Table tennis, gymnastics and Taekwondo.
