26th November:
Horticulture committee meeting today:

Jalgaon district's newly formed horticulture committee is meeting today first time after being included in National horticulture mission. Committee is likely to chalk district's plan for horticulture. The 18-members Committee includes district Collectorate, district agricultural officer, ZP COE along with farmers as representative from every taluka.

Corporation election reservation policy on 03rd December:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation election is likely scheduled in September-2008. Administration is conducting a ward-based reservation draw on 03rd December for SC Ladies, ST Ladies, OBC, OBC Ladies and General Lady's wards.

NMU announces its team for Ashwamedh 2007 to be played at Nashik:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has announced its team for Inter-university Ashwamedh competition 2007. Last year it hosted this competition. In all 150 players participated in Volleyball, Ground competitions, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho and Basket Ball categories sports.

25th November:
Co-operative Societies emergency meeting review - Blames outstanding defaults for failures:

Jalgaon district's increasing number of sick co-operative societies are a reason of primary severe concern to co-operative movement. A group of co-operative societies came together yesterday and have conducted an emergency review meeting.
Meeting was inaugurated by Deposit Guarantee Corporation chief and discussed various issues and concerns in large defaulting borrowers. The Co-operative societies are also conducting a statewide meet on 28th November at Nagpur to further discuss and demand from State. The meeting also took guilt co-operative board for not interfering and stopping societies offering larger interest rates in-spite of 11% maximum rate allowed. It also discussed various measures and increasing rage factor in deposits especially in terms of 60 sick societies.
Societies are also demanding allowing State to file criminal suite against borrowers in case of defaults rather taking board of directors as defaulters along with special police protection for dues collection team, avail an opportunity to societies in trouble, avail pre-mature refunds of deposits kept by these societies from co-operative banks and district bank and last but not the least avail special reserved fund provision to cope us with such pressure.

State girl's football competition begins with victory note for host Jalgaon:
Jalgaon district girl's football association conducted state football competition began yesterday at Godavari Engineering College campus. First day matches had Amravati defeating Yavatmal by 5-0, Nagar defeating Akola by 5-0, Dhule defeating Nandurbar by 2-1, Pune defeating Mumbai by 1-0 and Jalgaon winning over Ratnagiri by 4-0.

Afrin scores third rank in FIDE rated chess competition:
Jalgaon chess player Afrin deshpande has scored third rank in Aurangabad Marathwada Chess association conducted corporation sponsored Chess competition by scoring 5 out of 9 points. This has also qualified her to fulfill international FIDE rating norms for listing. Her name will be published in January-2008 FIDE ratings international listing. She is North Maharashtra region's first girl player to achieve this honor.

Jaideep Sonawane selected for swimming Competition:
Jaideep Sonawane has been selected for Indian Navy week Activity swimming competition at Mumbai. Earlier he had swim from Dharamtar to Gateway of India 35kms distance in 9.45 hours. He is district's first athlete having been selected in such a competition.

Khandesh famous Pandharpur clone Shendurni (Jamner) is celebrating Saint Shri Trivikiram 213th Rath festivity today. Festivity will also mark various religious events and activities throughout the day.

Corporation announces grand public honor ceremony for Pratibhatai:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation has announced grand public honor ceremony for her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil. It has also announced Waghur water supply and jalgaon city's newly built stadium offering through her. Corporation has urged entire Khandesh to come ahead and join this grand honor. She is likely to visit Jalgaon in first or second week of February.

Chopda, Vasant and Raver Sugar factories boiler inauguration likely in December:
District sugarcane producing farmers have a reason to rejoice as district's most of sugar factories have initiated their boiler processing throughout the crop season. Belganga started its boiler on 21st October followed by Madhukar initiating on 21st November. Chopda sugar factory plans to start from 01st December along with Vasant Kasoda likely in first week and Raver in second week of December.

23rd November:
Jalgaon Airport - farmer's meeting:

Jalgaon district administration yesterday conducted meeting of farmers owning land in Kusumba airport area. Farmers express their desire to avail this land for airport development and urged Collectorate to represent them to get best possible rates in this deal. Administration has offered Rs. 5 Lakhs per acre rate to farmers. Meeting has yielded positive signs of early conclusions to this land requirement and initiating of the work. There are 57 farmers having land in this existing Kusumba airport nearby zone. Farmers are demanding Rs. 10 Lakhs per acre rate for this land.

Rama Setu Rath in Jalgaon district today:
Central government has taken up to destroy Lord Rama's 17.50 Lakh years ancient Ramsetu. A group of devotees have initiated nationwide protest to this initiative. A Shila-Rath is ferrying entire country for 20 days to spread awareness on this issue. This Rath is in Jalgaon from 23rd until 02nd December. It will move into Bhusawal division Yaval taluka eastern areas on 23rd, Raver taluka from 24th until 27th, MuktaiNagar taluka on 28th and 29th, Bodwad, Jamner and Bhusawal from 30th November until 02nd December.

Udyogkarmi Express derails near Amalner:
2943UP Balsad Kanpur Udyogkarmi Express train derailed near Takarkheda in Amalner taluka on Jalgaon - Surat railway line. Incidence took place in midnight around 2.30AM and caused delay of around 5 hours in routine train traffic. Railways cancelled Bhusawal Surat Passenger and diverted Navjeevan Express yesterday following this incidence. There have been no life losses in this incidence.

State girl's football competition from tomorrow:
Jalgaon district girl football association is conducting two days state level girls football competition from 24th November. Competition is at Godavari engineering college ground and in all 26 district players are participating in this competition.

22nd November:
Jalgaon not to get Girana dam water after Waghur startup:

Jalgaon district Collectorate held a meeting yesterday to arrive at decision of reservation on Girana dam water. It has now reserved 6,000 MLT of Girana dam water for district's four Taluka's 134 villages. Meet also concluded with not to avail water to Jalgaon city once its Waghur dam water starts. Meet had Girana irrigation development authorities, Waghur dam project engineer and Corporation Commissioner and water supply officials.
It has also enhanced reservation in Hatnur dam for Chopda, Dharangaon and Bhusawal Thermal power stations and has conveyed availability of 100MLT in Manyad and 550MLT in Bori dams.

Jalgaon Airport: Collectorate conducted farmers meeting today:
Jalgaon district Collectorate is conducting a meeting of farmers having land in Kusumba airport location today. It has also announced 25% hike in government buying rates for this land. Collectorate has also received approval for development plan of airport from State Airport development Corporation.

Four lane express highway: Corporation plans to move from out of town:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation has announced moving four lane express highway from out of Jalgaon city. Administration is proposing this subject in general meeting on 28th November. Administration announced this decision after stiff protest of land owners on highway banks and other likely issues to be faced after road development. Meet would also discuss various 11 topics on its agenda.

Lord Rama Rath festivity cheers Jalgaonities:
Jalgaon region's rural deity Lord Rama's 136th Rath festivity went on with overwhelming response of devotees in old Jalgaon area. The Rath festivity witnessed hundreds of thousands of crowd cheering and taking blessings.

Lord Rama Rath festivity today in Jalgaon:

Jalgaon's rural deity Lord Rama temple trust is organizing 136th Lord Rama Rath festivity today. This festivity began in 1872 by temple founder Appa Maharaj. There are many religious activities and program throughout the day to commemorate this event.

Madhukarrao Chaudhari elected as Chief of All India Hindi Union:
Jalgaon region's senior political and social leader Madhukarrao Chaudhari has been elected unanimously as President of All India Hindi Organisation Union. He also chairs Mahatma Gandhi established National language promotion council Wardha. This union has sole mission of promoting Hindi language in continent.

Khandesh development and need of Manmad - Indore railway line:
Opening up of Manmad to Indore railway line would facilitate overall growth of Khandesh region and help region to reach all corners through railways. A group of activists yesterday held meeting to get it approved and kick started in any circumstance before December 2010.
This railway line feasibility was first studied by British rulers in 1908 and started its work in 1913 in primary stage. Indian railways ministry made another survey of this line by 31st March 2004 and ministry accepted this survey and feasibility on 06th October 2004. Ministry is yet to approve this project start up that could add another dimension to growth of Khandesh region.

Weather chills further - Desert like chill all around:
Jalgaon city and nearby region is witnessing desert-alike chill since last week. There has been a significant drop in temperature especially during night times. Minimum temperature has fallen down to 10 degree centigrade.

Maharashtra wins national tennis ball cricket competition:
Maharashtra team has won 18th National tennis ball cricket competition played at Agra. It defeated Jammu and Kashmir team in final by 3 runs. Team included Jalgaon district players Mandar Datar and Nikhil Pawar (Bhadgaon), Santosh Rajpur and Manoj Patil (Palaskhede, Pachora). Team has now qualified for Federation trophy competition to be played in December.

20th November:
NMU introduces barcode based answer sheets checking:

North Maharashtra University jalgaon has introduced bar codes based answering sheets checking system from this academic year. Every answer sheet will now have bar code stickers and this process is digitalization of university academic services. All hall ticket summary sheets will have student's scanned photo printed. It plans to introduce bar code system for M. Sc., MBA and MCM from November 2007 exam and from April 2008 for all engineering and pharmacy exams.

Octroi removal committee demands immediate removal of Octroi tax:
State Octroi removal committee has demanded immediate removal of Octroi tax from throughout Maharashtra state. It has also annoyed on state's dwelling assurances of removing tax since last 1.5 years. State in spite of huge growth in VAT revenue has failed to keep its word on removing this tax. State Octroi removal committee has Jalgaon traders taking active role.

Jalgaon under-13 team wins over Beed:
MCA organized under-13 cricket competition yesterday had Jalgaon boys defeating Beed by 9 wickets in match played at Pune. Jalgaon bowlers Parvez and Jagdish took 8 wickets along with Rohit's all-rounder performance. Jalgaon scored 173 runs in first inning. Beed scored 16 runs in reply at day end. Yesterday Beed got bowled got bowled out on 63 runs in 20.1 over. This availed 110 runs lead to Jalgaon and it led follow-on to Beed. Beed scored 147 runs in second inning. Jalgaon scored this target loosing one wicket.

19th November:
Rs. 92.10 Lakhs looted from ICICI Bank Jalgaon branch:

Unidentified persons have looted Rs. 92.10 Lakhs from ICICI Bank Jalgaon Branch strong room. Incidence took place on Sunday early morning. Robbers took rear window path to enter into bank basement and took away cash kept in boxes. Police has sent 3 special teams to investigate in this regards and has arrested 2 and taken 70 for further investigation. Police primary reports estimates lack of branch security and 45 times excess money kept in branch to that of its available capacity of 10 Lakhs. ATM security failed to identify and trail the culprits.

Creative Group Jalgaon is conducting 4 days construction sector exhibition from 27th December at G. S. ground. This exhibition will have tiles, steel, furniture, fibre, various hardware and interior related stuff and kitchen accessories exhibited. Erandol and Jalgaon girls win divisional cricket competition inaugural matches:
Erandol and Jalgaon teams have started with a victory note in yesterday began NMU level inter-divisional competition. Jalgaon team scored 258 runs in its 20 over. In reply Dhule team crashed on mere 31 runs in 13 over. Jalgaon team scorers include Priyanka Desai scoring 30 of 30 balls, Komal Sonawane scoring 52 of 22 balls. In second session, Dhule girls scored 64 runs in 15 over. Erandol scored this target in 6 over loosing 3 wickets.

18th November:
Waghur dam electrification completed, test this week:

Jalgaon city's ambitious Waghur dam project electrification part has been completed. Administration has announced trial runs from 22nd November. Dam's final phase work is in full pace. It got delayed for availing 33KVA electricity supply line from 133KVA MID sub-station to Waghur dam water collecting area. Electricity Company has connected M-Sector Express feeder to this line. Administration will conduct trial runs for a week to check dam to Girana tank pipe lines and aims at 30MLD water per day from this dam.

Administration announces Talukawise committees of non-governmental persons for government controlled supplies:
District administration has announced Jalgaon Corporation, every municipal council level and taluka level non-governmental person's committee to smoothen and observe government controlled quota supplies. Committee members could visit any of such rationing supplying shop and observe quality parameters and could even seal it with minimum 3 members consent in case of irregularities observed.
Meanwhile administration has also received state food and urban supplies ministry has ordered issuing of 100% quota of food stuff for below poverty line citizens. Earlier it allowed only 70% distribution and rest 30% supply after ending of this stock.

Rifle, pistol shooting competition inaugurated in Jalgaon:
NMU level Inter-college rifle and pistol shooting competition has begun in jalgaon at pioneer sports club range. In all 11 colleges have participated in this competition.

Home guards recruitment drive today:
Home guards force is recruiting male and female vacant posts candidates in Erandol, Dharangaon and Amalner today. Criterion includes age: 18-35 years, height: 165cm, Chest: 32-34, weight: 55kg and minimum 8th pass candidates. Process begins on 8AM at Erandol, 12PM at Dharangaon and at 3PM in Amalner.

Erandol division wins inter-divisional tennis competition:
Erandol division has won NMU level inter-divisional tennis competition played in Chalisgaon from 16th November. It defeated last year runner up team Dhule by 3-0. Team players Abhijit Palve, Piyush Gupta and Amol Patil won all their matches.

Jalgaon player Jitendra Patil selected State cricket team:
Jalgaon's fast bowler Jitendra Patil has been selected in Under-19 Maharashtra cricket team for upcoming Coochbihar Trophy Inter-state cricket competition at Gwalior. Team will play its first match against West Bengal from 24th until 27th November.

17th November:
Weather chills: Mercury drops down by 7 degrees in 5 days:

Jalgaon city and nearby region has started witness season's chill with mercury dipping down sharply. There has been a net decrease of 1.8 degrees in maximum temperature and that of 7 degrees in minimum temperature in last 5 days. This has led to chilling and frosting climate in late nights.

Pratibhatai accept Jalgaonities public honor request:
Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil accepted request for public honor by Jalgaonities and expressed possibility to visit Jalgaon in February 2008. Group representation included Khandesh's top brass political figures and industrialists.

Amalner girls selected for state judo competition:
D. R. Girls school Amalner students Sayli Badgujar and Sane Guruji School student Mrunal More have been selected for state judo competition. Both won Nashik divisional competitions and would now participate in state competition from 22nd until 24th November at Kalyan and Dombiwali.

Ajanta-Ellora festival from 22nd November:
Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation is conducting its annual Ajanta and Ellora festival from 23rd November at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University campus Aurangabad. Event would also have exhibition of various art works/ handicrafts in 'Kalagram' section. It has invited famous icons like Gulam Ali, Amjad Ali Khan, Pt Prabhakar Karekar, Arti Ankalikar, Shonak Abhisheki, Sharbani Mukhrjee, Devyani, Anuradha Paul.

State Kho-Kho Competition:
Sangli boys and Beed girls have won State level 24th Junior Kho-Kho competition played in Jalgaon. Sangli defeated Mumbai Sub-urban team while Beed defeated Pune team.

16th November:
Jalgaon Airport's proposed plan approved:

Maharashtra Airport Development Company has approved district administration submitted proposed Jalgaon Airport development plan in Kusumba. This will now lead to buying deal of 200 acres of land from farmers in the region. Administration is in plans to get it in run by next 6 months and will soon conduct a meeting with Nashirabad farmers having land here.

Parbhani player Dahale wins State chess competition:
Parbhani player Atul Dhalae has won district youth chess association and Shivsena jointly conducted state chess competition. Jalgaon's chess player Hardik Mehta secured second rank while Afrin Deshpande scored secured first rank in girl's category along with Dhanshree Mahajan (Pachora) scoring third rank.

District administration announces village panchayat ward structure:
Jalgaon district administration has announced 117 village panchayat ward structure having tenure ending during January to March 2008. All these Panchayats will undergo election on 23rd December. The revised ward structure details are available with respective Tahsil offices. Nomination begins on 03rd December and ends on 08th December. Scrutiny is on 10th followed by and last date of withdrawing is 12th. Polling is on 23rd December followed by counting and results announcement on 24th December.

State volleyball competition: Mumbai, Nashik, Kolhapur, Thane, Nagpur, Solapur mark first day:
District volleyball association conducted 39th State volleyball competition begun on 14th at Dhule. Host Dhule boys got defeated in first day along with Jalgaon getting defeated by Pune. Competition ends on 17th with finals on the same day. Dhule girls marked their winning race.

15th November:
Jalgaon's bright future meets Nation's pride:

A group of 1,000 students from Jalgaon yesterday met her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil on eve of Children's Day. These students were overwhelmed by blessings and affection showered to them by her and sees Nation's pride and Jalgaon native right in central stage. Rashtrapati Bhavan also hosted a special royal treat buffet for these students. These students will tour Delhi today and return back tonight by Dream Express.
A group of Jalgaonities are meeting her Excellency today to invite her for special public honor ceremony in Jalgaon in January 2008. This includes region's various leaders, farmers and her in-laws here.

Jalgaon soon to witness FM culture: Radio Dhamal all set to start its services:
Radio Dhamal is all set to launch its Jalgaon's first FM radio service. Radio City follows Dhamal path in entering into Jalgaon. Dhamal initially plans to broadcast through its Ahmednagar divisional unit in 40 radial kilometers distance.

Pratap College Amalner Chemistry department receives 25 Lakhs for research works:
Department of science and technology unit Faculty improvement in Science and Technology (FIST) has offered a special grant of Rs. 25 Lakhs to Pratap College Amalner for research and development works in chemistry department. Pratap College is state's only college selected for this grant. This grant includes 15 Lakhs for buying latest equipments, 5 Lakhs for ultramodern digital library and rest 5 Lakhs for computers and internet services.

Nashik boys and Kolhapur girls have won state level inter-school softball competition played at Chalisgaon. Pune boys and Nashik girls scored runner up award in this competition.

14th November:
Cottonomics 2007 - Government fails to attract farmers:

Cotton buying 2007 has failed to attract farmers and private buying has marked record achievement this year. Primary reports suggest around 10 Lakh quintals of private cotton buying at 2,200 to 2,400 per quintal rate as compared to that of 2,030 Government rate. State sponsored CCI has 6 cotton buying centre at Yaval. This centre has procured mere 275 quintals of cotton as of yesterday.

Jalgaon students to meet Pratibhatai today:
Jalgaon's Dream Express has reached Delhi safely yesterday night. Student's meet is scheduled for today at 4PM. Meet will precede tour of Palace and special request to her Excellency to visit Jalgaon and accept Public honor by Jalgaonities.

District's 129 Village Panchayat Head and Deputy Election announced:
Jalgaon District 129 Panchayat undergoing election in October will undergo Head and Deputy Election in December. District administration yesterday announced this schedule. Election process begins on 11th December and ends by 31st December. Panchayat committee members will elect new Head and Deputy in special meets with District administration officer controlling meet.

13th November:
Dream Express moves for Delhi:

Jalgaon district's dream train Dream Express has moved for Delhi yesterday night amidst wonderful and cheering crowd at Jalgaon railway station. The 17-coaches train departed Jalgaon yesterday night at 8.30PM and would reach today afternoon at Delhi. All coaches of train were nicely decorated with iconic presentation of leaders. All participating students have undergone special training for smooth conduct of entire tour.

Cotton crop likely to fall down by 23% this season:
Jalgaon district council agricultural department has estimated around 23% less cotton crop this year Kharip season. Earlier it has estimated 28.6 Lakhs quintal of cotton crop this season on 412,740 hectares land. This month sudden infection of reddening, milibug and gramildue are major reasons of this crop loss.

Bharit special Brinjals arrive in markets:
Khandesh region's another most popular dish "Bharit" is all set to mouth watering of Jalgaonities. Season's best Brinjal crop has arrived in markets. District's Bamnod (Yaval) popular for its special variety of Brinjals has hefty crop this season. Inter-divisional cricket competition: Jalgaon defeats Erandol:
Jalgaon team has defeated Erandol divisional team in inter-divisional NMU level cricket competition at Chalisgaon. Erandol scored 217 runs in 38 over. In reply, Jalgaon scored target in 38.2 overs with Aditya scoring 30, Manish chipping 52 runs of 57 deliveries and Anand scoring 36 of 25 balls.

Divisional Chess competition: Afrin Deshpande wins:

Afrin Deshpande has won State services directorates Pune and Dhule Collectorate office jointly organized Nashik divisional chess competition by scoring 4.5 points. With this she has now qualified for Nashik team to participate in State competition. Competition had Dhule, Nashik, Nandurbar, Malegaon and Jalgaon participants. Jalgaon's another player Neha Mudliyar has scored second rank in under-14 category by scoring 4.5 points.

Chickpeas crop selected in National Food safety drive:
Jalgaon district is under Year 2007-08 National Food safety Mission and its chickpeas crop is being covered under this mission. ZP agricultural department is expediting Rs. 12 Lakhs for this cover. Every farmer would get maximum of 60kgs of its seeds under government grant with rates set at Rs. 38 to 50 depending on quality. Government is sponsoring 12 Rs. of this rate. Jalgaon district would receive a total of 1,000 quintals of seeds and distribution would in every taluka level.

Electricity short circuit causes 17 Lakhs losses to jeweler:
A silver and Bentex Ornaments firm in Jalgaon caught fire by electricity short circuit on Friday midnight. This caused losses and damages worth Rs. 17.07 Lakhs as all ornaments, furniture and cash got burnt in fire.

Jalgaon's rural deity Lord Rama temple trust has began its annual Rath festivity celebrations from Kartik Shukla Pratipada. The festive celebration has a unique spiritually marked special carrier to Rath festivity every day. First day had Horse (Ashva) as carrier while today has Elephant (Gajendramoksha).

Dream Express train to leave Jalgaon on 12th:
Jalgaon district's 1,000 students are going to meet her Excellency President of India Pratibhatai Patil through a special train. This train named "Dream Express" has 16 sleeper coaches and would depart Jalgaon Railway station on 12th at 8PM. Train will return back to Jalgaon on 16th November. Train expenses and entire excursion has been jointly sponsored by Jains, Suresh Collection, Pankaj Group Chopda and Eshan Group of industries.
All students selected in this tour will undergo special training to follow Code of Conduct during entire visit. Training is scheduled on Tuesday morning 11.30AM at R.R. School compound. All students selected are required to fulfill documentary eligibility on or before today evening.

Divisional inter-school softball competition at Chalisgaon:
State sports and youth affairs directorate, district sports authority, district council, district and Chalisgaon softball association are jointly conducting sub-junior category softball competition at Chalisgaon. The three-day competition begins on 12th November at Rashitrya College ground and is likely to have 450 players, manager, guides and respective committee members. Qualifying candidates will be selected in State team.

Jalgaon bullion market in high spirits:
Diwali festivity is season of gold and jewels and Jalgaon aggressive gold retail outlets are on high this season with peak demands on eve of Dhan Trayodashi. Jalgaon markets yesterday had 10,700 Rs. per 10-gms rate while silver had 20,800 Rs. per Kilogram. There has been a rate increase of around 300-500 in rates since beginning of festive season.

Highway-touch Corporation plots 75meters condition cancelled:
National Highway authority undertaking express highway works earlier introduced 75 meters area restrictions on all highway touching plots. This led to higher agitation and protest from Jalgaonities as many of Shiv Colony, Ganesh Colony and nearby areas plots got caught into it. This condition has now been eased to 40 meters. State authorities have also redirected Highway authorities to conduct new marking process to begin express highway works.

Jalgaon city to get Girana dam water release after Diwali:

Dapora and Lamanjan dam supply drinking water to Jalgaon city have turned down zero as a result corporation has requested administration to avail special release of Girana dam water. Corporation used Monsoon raining water in Dapora and Lamanjan by now. Currently Jalgaon city is getting drinking water every alternate two-day.
Meanwhile district administration is likely to decide on cancelling of Jalgaon city's water reservation in Girana dam on 17th and 21st November. It will also decide on release date for first water release from Girana dam for farmers.

Madhukar co-operative sugar factory inaugurates its 32nd processing:
Madhukar Co-operative Sugar factory faizpur yesterday inaugurated its 32nd boiler processing. Factory has set up ambitious target of 5 Lakh tones of sugarcane this year and is region's only factory having facilities to process entire strand of sugarcane with cutting into parts.

District administration announces 115 Panchayat electoral roll process:
Jalgaon district's village Panchayats having tenure ending during January - March 2008 are likely to undergo elections in December end. District administration following State EC guidelines has announced electoral roll revision process. Process begins on 12th November with current assembly electoral roll in existence on 12th November taken as base list followed by availing listing for public reviewing from 16th November and final listing on 23rd November. These Panchayats include all taluka excluding Bodwad.

Diwali festivity 2007 is beginning today amidst cheerful and prosperous environment all around. Festivity begins with Vasu Baras today, Dhan Trayodashi tomorrow. Dhan Trayodashi Muhurat are 6.30AM - 9.30AM (Labh Amrut), 11-12.30PM, 3.30 - 5PM, 5.45 to 7PM, 6.22 to 8.23PM (Vrushabha Lagna) and 9 to 10.30PM Muhurat. Narak Chaturdashi is on 08th November followed by auspicious Diwali and Laxmi Poojan on 09th November. Diwali Pooja Muhurat are 8-11AM, 12.30 to 2PM, 4.30 - 6PM, 6.15 to 8.15PM (Vrushabha Lagna), 9.30 - 11PM and 12.30 to 2AM and 12.40 to 2.46 (Sinha Lagna) Muhurat. Nagpur University wins western divisional basketball competition:
Saint Tukdoji University Nagpur has won NMU conducted western divisional inter-university basketball competition. Rajasthan University Jaipur won second prize followed by Pune University winning third rank and Northern Gujarat University winning fourth prize.
Nagpur University scored 6 points followed by Jaipur University with 5 and Pune with 3 and Patan with 3 points.

Rubby cultivation - 35% cultivation completed:
Farmers in district have begun Rubby cultivation. Jalgaon district has 99,400 hectares area under Rubby cultivation and most favored crops include grains, Jwar, Maize, sunflower. Agricultural authorities have estimated around 35% crop cultivation completed and rest in full pace.

Talent Hunt exam result likely today:
Jalgaon district's Talent Hunt exam conducted as a qualifying measure for school children to meet her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil on eve of Children Day is being announced today. Keki Moos foundation Chalisgaon has announced results of international photography competition 2006. Vijaywada based T. Shrinivas Reddy has won mega prize of Rs. 11,000, memento and gold medal for his photography of His Holiness Dalai Lama. Competition had table top (still life), portrait, nature and landscaping and black and white categories.
Shrikrishna Patil Aurangbad, Sameer Mohite and Sureshchandra Tarkar won top-3 prizes in table top category. T. Malaria shoots in Jalgaon - 470 patients reported:
Nashik divisional health directorate has reported 470 malaria patients in jalgaon district. Out of these, 2 have died of Malaria in MuktaiNagar and one in Chincholi (Amalner) due to dengue fever. District has reported huge cases of viral fever following lower cleanliness maintenance and no action plans by health authorities from time to time.
Authorities conducted blood checkup of 477 patients in October and found 247 Vivax and plasmodium falciparum malaria positive patients. This include Amalner - 35, Bhadgaon - 13, Bhusawal - 14, Chalisgaon - 13, Chopda - 64, Jalgaon - 63, Jamner - 26, MuktaiNagar - 127, Bodwad - 25, Erandol - 16, Dharangaon - 12, Pachora - 5 and Parola - 52 patients.

Western divisional basketball competition:
Tukdoji Nagpur, Pune, Jaipur and Patna Universities secured their places in semi-final rounds of western divisional inter-university basketball competition yesterday. Pune defeated last time winner Gwalior. These four teams have now qualified for national competition.

State-level football competition - Mumbai, Kolhapur and Chandrapur wins:
State school-level football competition ended yesterday with Kolhapur boys and Mumbai girls winning under-17 and Chandrapur boys in under-14 category.

District's apex co-operative JDCC bank conducted its 91st annual general meeting yesterday. State level under-14 and under-17 football competition begins in Jalgaon:
State level under-14 and under-17 boys and girl's football competition began yesterday at Eklavya sports complex. Inaugural day matches had Krida Prabodhini Pune defeating Amravati by 5-3 in penalty stroke, Kolhapur winning on Aurangabad by 1-0 and Nashik scoring 2-0 victory on Latur, Mumbai scoring 2-0 run over Nagpur and Pune Prabodhini winning by 2-0 on Pune in under-14. Semis and final will be played today.
In other matches played Police parade ground, Nagpur defeated Aurangabad by 4-0, Latur defeating Pune by 3-1, Kolhapur by 3-2 on Amravati and Mumbai scoring 3-1 win on Nashik. In Semis, Kolhapur won by 3-0 on Nagpur and Mumbai winning by 3-2 against Latur. Final match is being played today.

Heavy raining in entire district:

Whole Jalgaon district witnessed medium to heavy raining yesterday afternoon. Sudden raining amidst Diwali festive works has led to sudden troubles for Jalgaonities. Standing cotton and Jwar crop remained worst affected by this raining. Raining began at 3.30PM in afternoon and continued for one hour. Yaval taluka has reported 18mm raining, MuktaiNagar witnessed 62mm rainfall, Bodwad witnessed 5mm and Chopda had 14mm rainfall.

01st November:
JDCC bank annual general meeting on Saturday:

Jalgaon district's apex co-operative bank JDCC bank is conducting its 91st AGM on Saturday, 03rd November. The AGM has five topics on its agenda. It has earned 4.54 Crores during last financial year and has received enhancements of 17 Crores in deposits and has succeeded in reducing non-performing assets by 2.05%. Bank now has 188 Crores reserved losses to that of 240 Crores when taken by co-operative department.
Bank has set ambitious targets of 305 crores crop loan at 6% rate for the year 2007-08 and also aims to rejuvenate 5 financially-ill sugar factories in district.

Kharip crop buying:
Season's Jwar is receiving fabulous buyer response this year. As a result the best quality Jwar has crossed Rs. 800 per quintal mark. State announcement of basic guarantee rates further hiked up these rates. Agricultural produces marketing committees are receiving around 2,000 quintal crop per day. Jwar is being bought by private buyers at 625-900 per quintal.

Sindhi community Barsi festivity to end today:
Sindhi community's annual Barsi festivity will end today with Pallavsaheb programme. Concluding ceremony would have Saint Baba Gelaram saheb and Saint Manoharlal. Programme ends today evening.
