17th May:
The P Equation:
India is on verge of being best benefited country by means of Technology revolution. Even though we have not invented many of technologies but our brains have mastered in handling and optimal production and use of software and technology. The World names us as Information super brains with best and cheapest equations matching all around and sufficient manpower availability to get the best output. Our Progress (P) revolution has just begun and we have now entered into phase two of development where we could steer the globe with our knowledge enrichment subjected to our Governing and political circles understanding this aspect.
The progress always comes along with a challenge and India's unanimously accepted challenge remains availing best of basic resources to every citizen so as he/ she could divert and pay significant time to his/ her overall skill fortification. Our most mediocre worries include Power (P) termed as electricity supply followed by drinking water supply and other basic amenities. The Power situation has worsened in recent years and its dark picture and impact is clearly visible in rural areas of our Country. The effect is so grim that the Central India especially UP and Bihar followed by MP are spending their half day (almost 12 hours) in dark and have to follow the tribal pathway for their living. Maharashtra is equally annoying with no vision documents being drafted on this front and dwelling electricity supply situation. We are living in Information technology edge and are being best benefited in terms of employment by technology but its dour effect is that we could not utilize this technology to ease our routine life.
We need a visionary aspect on this front and the Telecom revolution is one of classic "To Follow" aspect for us. It has come to notice that Government resource providing agencies are performing their best only in case when they see competition and survival aspects. The same scenario as applied to Electricity could positively change our living. On Commercial aspects Government could keep Telecom and insurance alike good deposits from private operators to ensure norms being followed and consumers are not being cheated. The Telecom regulatory Authority kind of Power (Electricity) Regulatory and Development Authority could perform catalysis and monitoring role with open and equal competition being availed. We are diversifying and our rulers aught to understand that every task is not a Government's job and it has to just make sure that healthy competition remains in effect for best benefit of consumers.
The P in both terms hold utter importance in our overall development and Rulers and visionary politicians should make thorough understanding of this aspect to lead India to become a Global Superpower.
