Monsoon joy continues:
The Monsoon raining continues
to spread joy throughout the Khandesh region. The Jalgaon
District, Dhule, and Nandurbar witnessed showering on Saturday.
Region's main water storing Girana Dam is about to full and
touch the 100% water storage mark. The authorities will open
up around 2-3 gates of this Dam on Monday to balance the water
flow. The Hatnur dam is also about to full.
Railways announce Special
Trains to Mumbai:
Following heavy raining in the Mumbai region, the Nashik -
Mumbai Train route has been severely affected. All trains
to and from Mumbai are cancelled until 06th August 2005. To
facilitate the passengers willing to reach Mumbai, the Central
Railways has started 4 new trains to Bandra via Surat route.
The Special Howrah to Bandra Terminus train will start its
journey from 31st August and will reach Bhusawal on 01st August
and then reach Bandra via Jalgaon to Surat route. The other
3 trains will depart Howrah in gaps of 2 days i.e. on 02nd
August, 04th August, and 06th August. The Bhusawal division
has reported losses worth Rs. 3 Crores on accounts of no trains
towards Mumbai.
30th
July:
Central Railways cancel all trains till 06th August:
Considering the flooded situation in Mumbai, the Central Railways
has cancelled all Trains to and from Mumbai until 06th August.
The decision came amidst many railway tracks getting disrupted
due to heavy raining in Kalyan belt. The Bhusawal division has
around 44 trains towards Mumbai, Delhi, and Howrah.
Monsoon Report: 100
Villages still on Tanker supply:
With Monsoon deluge causing heavy causalities, Jalgaon District's
around 100 villages are still on tanker supply. The Dhule District
adjoined Parola is facing acute water shortage following its
Bori dam having no water stock even in full raining. The District
having good raining around is still using 53 tankers by district
administration to tackle water issues. The whole region witnessed
good raining in last 4 days. These 100 villages are mainly from
Parola, Chalisgaon, Pachora, Jamner, Amalner, Bhadgaon, and
Jalgaon Taluka.
Corporation Standing
Committee Meeting:
The Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation Standing committee meeting
has sanctioned 7 important topics on agenda in its meeting.
These issues includes extension to Private Party Octroi Collection
system for slug period as ordered by High Court bench Aurangabad,
building up drainage system from Court Crossing to Khwajamiya
Crossing until Ganesh Colony with estimates of 9.65 Lakhs, taking
water samples in city, implementing ward wise contracts for
cleaning, building drainage, roads, road crossing slabs in Pimprala
area as per sanctions of 10th Finance Commission.

Monsoon raining continues in Jalgaon District:
The Jalgaon District continues
to witness best of Monsoon raining on Thursday. The District has
until now received 27.31% monsoon raining. With cloudy climate
still around, the region is expected to have more raining in coming
days. Region's major water reservoirs Girana and Tapi dam are
now with 78% and 80% storage respectively. The continued raining
has reduced rates of vegetables due to heavy inflow of stocks.
A youth went in for fishing on Tapi river banks at Kathora village
in Jalgaon Taluka is missing and is feared to be drowning in high
pressure rain water in the River.
MSEB in all new shape:
With State Government's announcement of diversifying and dividing
State's Electricity major MSEB, the ambitious plans are ahead
waiting for an all new Avtar of MSEB. The newly formed Maharashtra
State Distribution Company taking billing and customer support
charge has chalked various plans. The Bimonthly billing will now
be Monthly billing cycle beginning this August. The Company is
also planning to setup a Call Centre to resolve customer complaints
within 4 hours of reporting. Beginning 02nd August 2005, the company
is launching State-wide Customer approach drive with 2000 employees
visiting customers to understand their issues. The company has
Rs. 303.84 Crores outstanding in Jalgaon District of which Rs.
222.75 Crores outstanding is with Agricultural customers.
If the company could follow the BSNL pattern in making it a true
corporate, things could positively change and life will become
much easier.
State Pharmacy Dealers
associations reschedule their protest strike:
The State Pharmacy Dealers protesting Food and Drug Department's
compulsory presence of pharmacist in retail shops while selling
medicines has rescheduled their token strike considering the flooding
situation throughout the State. The Association earlier proposed
29th July strike will now be on 12th August 2005.

July:
Khandesh continue to witness rain showers:
The Khandesh region continues
to witness shower throughout Wednesday. The continued raining
has caused flooding in Tapi, Panjhra, and Kaan Rivers in the region
and water outlets are overflowing with rainwater. The historic
raining continued for third consecutive day throughout the region.
The District Collectorate office has setup a special Flood Control
and Emergency Helpline centre that is continuously monitoring
the flooding situation in various Rivers in the region. The Jalgaon
City Municipal Corporation has also setup an Emergency Centre
in Corporation's Fire Brigade office located in VV Complex.
The Online Bankers along with ATM Machines witnessed connectivity
drops troubling cash withdrawals and routine banking. The Private
Multinational banks closed their day on 12pm in afternoon following
no connectivity from their Bombay Stations. The torrential raining
in Mumbai has severely affected Mumbai - Jalgaon Railway Route
handicapping thousands of passengers towards Delhi. The Central
Railways 44 trains in Bhusawal division have been cancelled and
the impact is going to take around 1 week to normalise.
The Jalgaon District had until now 226.9mm raining in last 3 days.
The Dharangaon Taluka is on top in raining chart with Yaval taluka
on lowest. The District Administration has sent alert signals
to villages on banks of Tapi River.
Medicine shops to go on
a day token strike:
Jalgaon District Medicine Dealers Association has unanimously decided
to follow State body's decision to go on a protest strike on tomorrow,
29th July to protest State Food and Drugs Department decision of
compulsory presence of Pharmacist on shop for selling medicine.
The association authorities quotes that the enforcement is against
laws enforced in Drugs and Chemist Act 1940.

Monsoon joy continues:
The whole of Jalgaon District continue
to witness best of Monsoon raining on Tuesday. Region's agro belt
Raver and Yaval continue to witness flooding in Tapi River. Considering
the increasing flow in Tapi, the Hatnur dam's 36 doors were opened
on Tuesday. The Bhusawal Taluka remained most benefited one with 33.92%
raining while Pachora had 10.84% raining.
The Jamner Taluka until now has witnessed major losses due to this
delayed raining. Many of its farmers had to make second sowing while
many cotton farmers faced problems due to heavy raining. The loss
estimated at Rs. 3.06 Crores on 21067 hectares area is one of major
grievance reported by District authorities to State administration.
Wealth Tax Help Centre in
Jalgaon:
Following the Central Board directives, the Jalgaon Income Tax Office
is setting up a help centre from 27th July at ITO office in BJ Market.
The centre facilitates wealth tax payers about filling of forms and
other queries relating to it.
26th July:
Monsoon raining spreads joy:
The whole of Jalgaon District is witnessing best of delayed monsoon.
The raining begun on Sunday evening continued throughout night and whole
Monday and is still showering in many parts of district. The Bhadgaon
taluka is leading the Monsoon graph with 23mm raining on Monday followed
by Chalisgaon with 10mm. Pachora, MuktaiNagar, and Raver had just 4mm
raining. Jamner, Jalgaon, Yaval, and Bodwad had 2mm raining and Bhusawal
had 3.2mm raining. Erandol, Dharangaon, Amalner, Parola, and Chopda
are still waiting for Monsoon showering.
The statistics until now shows that Chalisgaon division having Chalisgaon,
Bhadgaon, and Pachora Taluka is having good monsoon this year. Bhadgaon
has until now 154.6mm raining, Chalisgaon with 102mm, and Pachora is
with 72.3mm raining. The Pachora Taluka has lowest raining this monsoon.
The Authorities have opened up 4 out of 41 gates up to 0.5mtrs in Hatnur
dam to control increasing water flow.
The delayed monsoon raining has raised debts of farmers due to second
sowing. A Farmer from Devgaon (Parola) killed himself on increasing
debts of farming. The District Authorities have demanded around 1500
metric tonnes of eatable Grass for animals. The District authorities
have estimates of 1,112,780 animals of which 803,606 are of large size
and rest of small size needing 5749.09 metric tonnes of eatables.
ZP gets Rs. 25 Lakhs for various Agricultural
Projects:
The District Council (ZP) has received fund of Rs. 25 Lakhs for implementing
various Agricultural and water resources Projects. It includes Rs. 5
Lakhs for Hand pumps, automated machinery worth Rs. 2 Lakhs, Kerosene
pumps worth Rs. 9.80 Lakhs, and latest agricultural equipments worth
Rs. 3 Lakhs that includes multi-purpose cultivator and provision for
"Best Farmer Award" and other minor schemes. The Council has
further reported that around 82% crop sowing has been done in district.
State Level Marathon Competition on
31st July:
The District Athletes Association is conducting State Level Marathon
Competition on 31st July in School Boys, Girls, and Open Category. Those
interested in participation shall register their names on or before
29th July at College of Physical Education Jalgaon.
25th July:
Sindhi community to plead for raining:
Jalgaon city's all Sindhi community
people are coming together on 26th July to worship God Jhulelal for good
raining in the region. The God Jhulelal also known as "Varun"
beholds community's faith. The programme also highlights conducting a
fascinating stride of divinity. The community heads have urged all fellow
community members to keep their shops closed after 4pm on the day.
Call for filling nominations for "Bravery
Award":
The All India Council for Children development New Delhi has called for
nominations to Bravery Awards 2005.Any children of age group 6 to 18 years
having shown exceptional valour in period from 01st July 2004 until 30th
June 2005 is India's pride example for young generation and will be honoured.

Time to emend our mentality:
The whole of Jalgaon District is shocked
with agony of killings of two kids and his wife by a well educated Doctor.
The last week incidence has raised a question of mental fuss for whole of
community and as well educated are opting such awful means than how brutal
would be our future and how could we question an ordinary man. The severity
of all three killings could be examined by the fact that the Investigating
Senior Police Officer quoted "He never saw such vindictive murders
in his whole career span".
If we further deepen our study into this incidence, we will find the impact
of how desire of earning a lot shocks when somebody faces reverse shocks.
An educated Doctor opting Multi-Level marketing as quick means of earning
a lot felt so bad that he ended whole of his family by his own hands. No
matter individual qualities like nature, means of working differs from person
to person but the issue that we guys need to give a serious look is "Our
race for earning is sending us to doom" from where no one could return

Business Associations tightens their belts
on "No Octroi" rhythm:
Joyful with legal victory over Corporation's financial handicapped decision
of implementing Octroi Tax in Jalgaon, the business associations are once
again moving ahead not to allow reimplementation of Octroi Tax in Jalgaon.
In its honour meeting, the Jalgaon business Confederation unanimously resolved
to demand non-enforcing of Octroi tax for at least 106 days as beholding
the High Court decision meant Corporation collected Octroi the unlawful
way for 106 days from 02nd April 2005. It further urged all its members
to apply Corporation for refund of this paid Octroi as it was against the
rules laid.
State Senior Police Officer in Jalgaon:
The State Government's Senior Ladies Police Officer is in Jalgaon to inquire
into sexual abuse by Jalgaon District's two Police Officers. The lady officer
conducted various inquires and meets to understand the issue in detail and
submit a detailed report to State Home Ministry. This is for the first time
that State Government has ordered inquiry into two of District's Police
Officers one of whom is currently giving his services to Jalgaon Police.
23rd July:
Banana touches 450Rs. Rate:
The Banana farmers have high time with banana
rates touching last two months high of Rs. 450/- per quintal. The primary
reason for rate hike is being considered as more demand and supply shortage
due to Gujarat flooding crop affected and low raining in competing Nanded
- Parbhani belt. The Khandesh banana is widely known and has huge market in
Northern India namely UP, Punjab, Delhi, and Hariyana.
PP Bhayyuji Maharaj in Jalgaon:
Indore's renowned national spiritual leader Bhayyuji Maharaj is arriving in
Jalgaon to inaugurate Ahinsa rath in recently setup "Gaushala" at

District Administration to conduct "Revenue
Drive" from 01st August:
The State Government revenue earning departments are conducting state-wide
revenue collection drive from 01st August until 30th September. The drive
offers 7/12 extract at SETU centres setup at taluka levels at just Rs. 10/-
for farmers.
The drive also offers one spot solution for Village books auditing, recording
transaction entries, listening to civilians complaints and resolving them,
entertainment tax issues, updating service books of state employees etc. The
Administration has appointed 15 authorities one from each taluka to handle
these queries.
22nd July:
Corporation reports:
The Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation after
Aurangabad bench verdict has stopped collecting Octroi Tax in Jalgaon city.
The Private party collecting the said tax on behalf of corporation has returned
all 20 Corporation employees taken for assisting their employees. Out of this
15 employees have now been posted in House Tax collection department and others
will soon be shifted to different department. The Party has also vacated all
13 Octroi Collection Naka and is now waiting for detailed analysis of Court
order for deciding further steps. The cancellation of Octroi Tax has dropped
price of retail commodities by around a rupee or two further.
The earlier released Girana dam water has reached the Dapora dam in city and
will help corporation to tackle the water supply crisis at various localities
in city.

Aurangabad High Court stays Jalgaon
Octroi implementation:
Amongst
one of cheerful moments for Jalgaon
business community, the Aurangabad
High Court has stayed Octroi Tax collection
process in Jalgaon city. The 2-bench
sitting Mumbai High Court Aurangabad
bench ordered immediate stopping of
octroi collection started without
following proper Octroi regulations.
The Corporation authorities however
have expressed the fact that the collection
process will be reinstated by 13th
August as the State has already approved
corporation's Octroi regulations on
13th July. The Corporation began Octroi
collection from 02nd April midnight
and the businessman from Jalgaon filed
this petition on 04th April 2005.
Time
to rejoice: Vindhya Paper mills restart:
Jalgaon district's one of major employer,
Vindhya Paper mills located at Duskheda
(Yaval) shut down since last 8 years
has restarted. The mill established
in 1983 was set up in 125 acres land
and it was one of major bread earning
resource for hundreds of workers around.
The State Electricity board restored
its power supply after a settlement
for repayment of its due electricity
outstanding. Around 140 employees
rejoined the mill on first day of
reopening and many more will join
soon.
District
water conservation drive:
The District authorities have expressed
satisfaction over water conservation
works being implemented in rural areas
while expressed more participation
of co-operative societies and NGOs
in urban areas. The District authorities
have until now conducted thousands
of major and miscellaneous water works
in each and every corner of district.
Amongst major works includes 419 works
of deepening lakes, 5844 works of
water restoration in wells, 4451 works
of digging land at various points
for recycling water in earth, 1501
works of recycling roof rain water
to earth etc.

Ye re Ye Pawsa: Raining spreads joy
in Bhadgaon and Pachora Taluka:
The
Bhadgaon and Pachora Taluka witnessed
monsoon downpour for more than an hour
on Tuesday afternoon. The raining has
spread joy amongst the annoyed farming
community in the region witnessing gap
in raining since last 8-10 days.
Rest of Jalgaon district continues to
witness dry monsoon sending signs of
worry all over.
Waterborne
diseases continue to attack Jalgaonkar:
The Jalgaon district community continues
to witness increasing cases of waterborne
diseases increasing multi-fold in last
few days. Almost every home in district
has some patient complaining of fever/
cold/ cough/ diarrhoea/ dysentery/ digestion
related issues. The Jalgaon district
also famous for its huge Doctors force
is facing hard times to tackle this
issue. With hospitals houseful, doctors
all around are witnessing boom in their
business. Of 112 diarrhoea cases have
been reported until now, 66 are from
Jalgaon city. Of 2295 water samples
at various locations in district, 400
samples have been found contaminated
and unsafe for drinking.

Railways Bhusawal Division gets Ultra
modern AC Rail Engine:
The
Central Railways Bhusawal Division has
received latest technology based 140 Kms
Per hour capacity 22628 WAP4 High Speed
air-conditioned Railway Engine. The engine
designed at Chittaranjan Locomotives is
of 5000HP and is only one in whole of
Central Railways.
Two
girls die of Diarrhoea in Jalgaon District:
Marking one of most tragic failure of
administration on health aspects, two
girls one in Shani Peth area of Jalgaon
and another from Karangaon(Chalisgaon)
city died of Diarrhoea last day. The whole
of district continue to witness increasing
number of such diseases due to contaminated
drinking water supply, increasing number
of mosquitoes and pests throughout the
region. The Health authorities in district
are in no plan to control and tackle the
issue.
Corporation
announces Traffic control measures:
The City Municipal Corporation has announced
various new measures to control increasing
traffic in Jalgaon city. Those include
No Parking Zones, No Entry Zones, and
Park Zones etc. The Corporation is soon
fixing various hoardings for common public
information at these locations. It has
also implied P-1 and P-2 i.e. even and
odd days parking systems to control increasing
traffic.
How strictly these measure are being implemented
is the factor needed to be observed in
coming times.

"Vitthala Vitthala Jai Hari Vitthal"
applauds community:
The whole
of Khandesh region today is engraved today
in pious worshipping of Vitthala, the 'Keivari'
of community. The children participated
in various 'Dindi' being taken from around
the city. Various temple trusts are conducting
'Rath Festivity' today evening to mark the
eve. Many devotees keep their day long fast
on this auspicious eve.
The Pimprala, Parola, Pimpalgaon Hareshwar,
Bhusawal, Dahigaon (Yaval), Shendurni, Chalisgaon,
Pachora, Patonda (Amalner) having ancient
Vitthal temples are also conducting Rath
festivity to mark the eve.

Raining moves away: Farmers worry of second
sowing:
The last
week run good showering has all of sudden
stopped since last 3-4 days sending signs
of worry for farmers. All farmers are ready
with their sowing for various varieties in
this Kharip season. The District administration
has denied any proposal of artificial being
considered seeing the situation.
If there is no downpour in upcoming 3 days,
farmers may need to make another cultivation
which could shake their finances. The faithful
farmers are now hopeful of raining on 'Ashadhi
Ekadashi' on this Monday.

Panchayat Elections:
The State Election Commission has announced
Election schedule for 783 Village Panchayat
Elections in Jalgaon District. The Election
nomination filing begins 01st August and polling
on 21st August. Last date of filling nomination
is 06th August, scrutiny on 08th August, and
last date of withdrawing nomination is 10th
August. The District authorities will announce
final electoral roll on 25th July 2005.

The DIC office Jalgaon has announced conducting
a Video Shooting and Photography Training
course for unemployed youth in Jalgaon District.
The course will be conducted from 20th July

Jalgaon to get another release of Girana dam
water, Chopda to get Hatnur water:
The Jalgaon
District magistrate has issued an order to make
another release of Girana dam water for Jalgaon
city while that of Hatnur dam for Chopda city.
The order came amidst both cities water reservoirs
touching to end.

Patil to chair World Banana Council Meet at
Delhi:
Nimbol (Raver) resident Bhagwat Vishwanath Patil
will preside over the 3 days World Banana Council
Meeting to be held at New Delhi from 04th August
2005 at Pragati Maidan. The council meet will
have participation of Central Agricultural Ministry
officials and ministers along with banana producing
countries like Philippines, Venezuela, Central
America, South Africa, Malaysia, Java and many

Polluted
drinking water ills thousands of Jalgaonities:
The water shortage controlled by storing water
for a whole year and then supplying without adequate
safety parameters is troubling Jalgaonities a
lot. Around 5000 cases of various drinking waterborne
diseases have been reported at various locations
in District. Cloudy atmosphere, low/ no maintenance
of cleanliness in areas added with muddy roads
is giving birth to thousands of insects and mosquitoes
spreading health troubles all around. This is
for the first time the city and whole region is
witnessing such huge increase in number of insects,
pests making life harder without having air blow
at them. The major infected age group is children
below 10 years. All children specialist hospitals
are full of patients waiting for hours. The word
'Fresh water' is now replaced with 'water necessity'
where supply of water is important rather it's
content and quality by means of corporation.

Third and Final Year Engineering Results:
The North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has announced
third and final year engineering results on Thursday.
The University has affiliated many Engineering
colleges in Khandesh region to conduct various
courses of engineering. The Results are available

Monsoon spreads joy: Hatnur dam 60% full:
The month before 0 level Hatnur dam is flowing high
now with water storage of around 60% of its capacity.
The authorities opened 6 gates of Hatnur dam to
control its water flow. The opening up of 6 doors
at a time caused flooding in river.
The increased water level in dam has pleased the
nearby region farming community with hopes of no
troubles throughout the year coming.

Light ahe ka?
The Agriculture rich Jalgaon District is witnessing
one of its most harassing states of Electricity resources.
The District having Bhusawal Thermal Power Station
supplying to whole of Madhya Pradesh is observing
malformed state of power supply. The District having
record of continued non-stop electricity over decades
since few years back is dwelling to pandemonium of
power supply.
May be the situation is opinionated by rulers, but
yield is worst. Industries and Businesses are facing
worst times. The Electricity dependant Electronics
and Computer related are the most suffering elements
of this crisis formation. This situation has generated

Jalgaon City
Municipal Corporation General Meeting Special:
The Corporation general meeting ended with unanimous
resolution to Octroi Rules formation and allow 'BOO'
basis private-party run City bus service. The meeting
specially called to form Octroi regulations has resolved
to apply the State Government sent framework for acceptance
of octroi tax. The Corporation has formed a Committee
to study the implementation of Bus Service and has
announced starting up the service from 15th September
2005. The Corporation aims to earn 5% royalty from
this bus service to be run by private party.
Dr. Asmita
Patil to present paper in Austria:
Nutan Maratha College Botany Faculty member, Dr. Asmita
Patil is attending 17th International Botany Council
Meet to be held in Vienna of Austria. She will present
her research paper on 'Taxonomical study of Diatoms
of Khandesh in Maharashtra' in this council ending
on 23rd July.
DTE Option
Form filling process extended by a day:
The DTE has extended filling of Option form process
by a day. Until now the Jalgaon ARC Government Engineering
College has received 1375 forms for Engineering and
Pharmacy, 415 for MBA, and 199 forms for MCA. Those

District receives
36 Lakhs State Grant to tackle water crisis:
The Jalgaon District Administration has received Rs.
36 Lakhs grant to tackle with acute water shortage
and drought type situation in around 100 villages
in District. The District Authorities have transferred
this fund to Zilha Parishad (District Council) which
will further pass on this fund to respective taluka
level. Till date 102 villages are using 51 tankers
to supply drinking water and the figure may increase
if the same low monsoon raining continues.
The District administration has further urged State
for aid of around Rs. 50 Lakhs to support its other
initiatives to tackle water crisis.

Dharangaon Scout unit gets Vice President Honour:
The Indian Scout and
Guides unit of Dharangaon has received Vice President
Honour in its 16 to 25 age group rover range unit of
both boys and girls. This is one of the highest Awards
honoured in scout and guides for offering excellent
community services by means of Rovers and rangers unit.
The unit received this honour in a function held at
New Delhi.
Jalgaon City
Municipal Corporation General Meeting today:
The Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation has called for
its Extraordinary General meeting to finalise the Octroi
Rules and regulations on grounds of Aurangabad High
Court Octroi hearing on 14th July. The Authorities will
put forwards necessary rules to be framed for levying
octroi tax on goods received inside the city borders.
The meeting is being conducted after harsh experience
of clashes from a women activist group. The Mayor has
laid down special instructions to curb in such issues.
The business associations have shown protest against
these newly formed regulations and have submitted a
civil application in court to reject such rules if any.
The Corporation - Association Octroi tussle gives a
nuisance picture of anti-businesses promotion and business
minded corporation policies.

Awful life marks July beginning:
Imagine a place with
no electricity for hours, hours of waiting to get corporation's
unplanned drinking water supply added with shocking state
of district roads and city and state administration. This
is scenario no where else but in Jalgaon District. The
Agricultural rich business minded district is witnessing
one of most harassing state of its infrastructural resources.
Frequent power cuts followed by worst state of administration
of local resources are killing city's aspirant youths.
The business and trade being run by top 10 bosses is no
more allowing the youth to enter in the race.
If the scenario continues to be same, district will soon
be left far behind in competition in coming few years.
Monsoon adds to
water level in dam:
The continued raining throughout last week has shown positive
results and has increased water level in various dam.
The Hatnur dam in Raver has shown 3 meters increase in
water level.
State Level Badminton
competition ends:
The Jalgaon District Badminton association hosted State
Level Badminton competition ended on Sunday. In Men's
singles last year winner Aurangabad's Hrutuparna Kulkarni
continued his winning performance while in Girls singles
Pune's Sampada Sahastrabuddhe won the title.
In doubles competition, Thane's Amrish Shinde and Mayur
Tavde won the Men's doubles and Gayatri Kochak with Archana
Deodhar won the Girls doubles title.

Monsoon reports:
The Jalgaon district
continues to witness showering monsoon raining throughout
the Saturday. The Jalgaon city however witnessed heavy
raining on evening spreading disorders in marriage receptions
being hosted at many places in city. The electricity shock
in nearby supply caused death of a woman taking drinking
water in her home in Gendalal mill area.
09th July:
State Level Badminton Competitions:
The Jalgaon District Badminton Association hosted State
Level Badminton competition is in full pace at MJ College's
Eklavya Sports complex. The competition last day produced
some surprising result in form of defeat of top rankers
being defeated by new comers. Top players like Hrutuparna
Kulkarni from Aurangabad, Pranav Khot, Sampada Ghatnekar
continued their winning performances to proceed towards
final eliminating rounds.
DM enforces Section
37(1) and 37(3) in Jalgaon:
In order to maintain Law and Order Situation in Jalgaon District,
the District Magistrate has imposed Section 37(1) and 37(3)
of Bombay Police Act, 1951 from 08th July until 22nd July
2005. The sections ban using weapons, pistols, occupying and
using blasting material, burning effigies in protest, making
public protest appeals etc.
District Authorities
conduct massive Water conservation drive:
Considering and worrying of decreasing water levels throughout
the Jalgaon District, the district authorities are conduct
mega water conservation drive this monsoon. The drive includes
recycling of rain water into earth by means of setting up
units on roofs of government establishments, appealing each
and every house to recycle the water back to earth. District
authorities and local government owned parks, open grounds
now have a special water conservation digging on borders to
recycle back the water. The first time conducted mega water
conservation drive is an appreciating effort of new District
Collector and will surely yield positive ray of hope for agro
based Jalgaon District economy.

Electricity ups and down disrupts normal
life:
The whole of Jalgaon District witness frequent electricity cuts
throughout Saturday causing disruption in routine life. The
power cuts were resulted due to faults in Pimprala sub station
and later some repair works in some areas.

July:
Jalgaon Octroi petition hearing today in Aurangabad:
A bench of Aurangabad High Court will today hear Jalgaon's businessman
filed plea against Corporation's Octroi tax Implementation.
The hearing comes amidst Aurangabad High Court cancelling Dhule's
Octroi Implementation following improper method adopted by State
Government to do so. If the Octroi Tax implementation is halted
today, Jalgaonities will be free of octroi headache for at least
coming 3-4 months.
Another bench of Aurangabad High Court will also hear a petition
filed by City's Cable network for restoring its cable connection
seized on accounts of non-payment of taxes. The whole of Jalgaon
city is not receiving Cable TV broadcast since last 2 months
following tussle between Cable Operators and District Administration
on account of payment of entertainment taxes.
Four Electricity polls
setup in Purna River:
The MSEB has setup 4 polls of 33KVA Electricity supply in the
Purna River. The Rs. 30 Lakhs towers established were completed
within 3 months and will help nearby 30 villages to get regulated
electricity supply.

State Level Badminton competition in Jalgaon:
The Jalgaon District Badminton
association is hosting State Level Second Seniors Badminton competition
at MJ College's Eklavya Sports complex. The 4-days competition
beginning on 07th July has singles and doubles competition in
both categories and will have participation of around 60 renowned
players from around the State.
05th July:
Diarrhoea attacks Savda: 68 patients reported:
With contaminated water for drinking, the Savda city has reported
in all 96 cases of diarrhoea disease. The sharp increase in patients
is following continuous raining in last 3-4 days followed by contaminated
drinking water being supplied in council water supply.
The angry civilians made a protest march to city municipal council
and urged for immediate measures to control the water-Bourne diseases.
Many Taluka still await good monsoon:
The Monsoon raining is here in full form but District's Bodwad, Pachora,
Parola, Amalner Taluka have witnessed very lower percentile of raining
as compared to other taluka in the District. The Jalgaon District
until now has 11.45% average rainfall.
With heavy raining in Nashik belt, region water thrust Girana dam
is now at 60% storage level spreading joy all around. Still around
100 villages of Jalgaon District are on Tanker water supply.
04th July:
Vadgaon bags Village Cleanliness drive Award in Nashik Division:
The Vadgaon Bk village of Chopda
taluka has won First Prize in Nashik Division in Saint Gadge Baba
Village Cleanliness drive conducted by State Government. The Prize
comes in form of Cash of Rs. 10 Lakhs was announced by Nashik Divisional
Office spreading joy all around the village. The joy continued throughout
the day in form of public rally followed by village Panchayat expressing
gratitude for village people.
The Bornar village of Bhadgaon taluka has won Best Family Planning
village award in Nashik Division and will get Rs. 30,000 cash prize
for this achievement on 15th August.
Monsoon rainfall continues throughout
District:
The Khandesh region continues to witness monsoon showering throughout
Saturday night and whole Sunday. The Yaval, Raver, MuktaiNagar, Bodwad,
Chalisgaon, Bhadgaon, and Pachora Taluka witnessed undulated raining
causing flooding in many small rivers. The continuous showery raining
has also given birth to various chronic diseases like fever, cold, cough
etc. Region's major water supply resource 'Girana Dam' also continues
to witness upward storage growth relaxing whole of region. The region
has witnessed 10 degrees centigrade reduction in temperature in last
week.
Monsoon Kharip Crop report:
Witnessing the late arrival of Monsoon, the farmers in Jalgaon District
have cultivated just 13% i.e. 1.35 Lakh hectare area for Kharip until
now. The District Agriculture Officer further quoted that amongst major
crops sown includes Cotton, grains, Soyabeen, pulses etc. The Administration
further urged all Nationalised banks to provide maximum information
about the Crop Insurance schemes being offered and as feasible offer
a special window for all facilities relating to farming.

Disgracing incidence in General Meeting marks sad pages in Corporation's
History:
The Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation
marked one of its most gloomy notes when a group of women demanding immediate
build up of toilets in Janaki Nagar area attacked that ward's NCP Corporator
resulting in anarchy all around in Corporation's Meeting hall. The all
of sudden unexpected behaviour spread rage and shameful mark in the decorum
of Corporation History and city's first lady Mayor could not stop herself
crying to see such drastic failure. The Mayor left the meeting in middle
seeing situation and rejoined after sometime. The meeting finally ended
after 10 hours clearing 14 topics on agenda. This group of around 15 women
were arrested and later released by Police on bail.
This is one of dire scenario the Jalgaon City Municipal Council or Corporation
may have ever witnessed slaying the faith of common man in city administration
and does it vindicate Jalgaon going in doom time, is a factor to be observed
in coming years?
Truck - Sumo Accident kills 5
Pimprala residents:
Amongst one of most tragic incidences witnessed, a high speed running
Tata Sumo vehicle collided with a standing truck at Varad (Dharangaon)
near Paldhi killing 5 youths and injuring 6 severely on Saturday early
morning 5am.
The incidence took place when the sumo driver lost control of speedy car
and crashed on standing truck from his left side. There were in all 11
passengers including driver were sitting in the vehicle of which 3 died
on the spot, 2 died on way to Hospital, and 6 others including driver
are severely injured. All died and injured were 18-25 age group youths
going to Saptashrungi Devi gad.
Call for Entrance Exam of Science
Forum:
The District Education officer has called all school head masters to send
in their Class IX students nominations for entrance exam to Science forum.
The forum having Urban and rural groups will have 40 students from urban
zone while 30 from rural zone. The last date of filling forms for exam
is 30th July 2005. One school can send maximum of 5 entries in urban area
while maximum of 3 entries in rural areas. The exam being conducted in
Marathi stream will have 50 marks paper to test student's capabilities.

"Need of Public Participation in Water Conservation Programme"

The newly appointed Jalgaon District Magistrate
and Collector Mr. Vijay Singhal stressed for more of public participation
in administration run Water conservation programme. The District administration
has begun its wide spread approach for water conservation and has set water
restoration in around 2500 well in district. He further focussed on public
participation by setting up rain water conservation approach in each and
every house of the District. He further assured Chalisgaon, Bhadgaon, and
Pachora region people of all possible support to resolve their water shortage
issues.
Monsoon troubles Gujarat: Railway
traffic diverted via Jalgaon:
The flood hit Gujarat Railway traffic scenario has worsened further with
many railway tracks going down in the water. As a secured measure, the Railway
Authorities have diverted many trains of Surat - Bombay, Ahemdabad - Bombay
route via Jalgaon, Bhusawal. The 8034 Howrah Ahemdabad Express has been
cancelled. The 2953Dn Mumbai Central - Nizzamuddin Express, 9019 Bandra
Terminus - Dehradun Express, 9037dn Bandra Terminus - Gorakhpur Express,
Golden Temple express and many other trains are being routed through Jalgaon
route.
The route load has delayed many regular trains of Surat - Jalgaon belt and
has add to troubles of passengers of Gujarat belt.
National Talent Search Exam info:
Any student appearing for S.S.C. in State certified school is eligible for
appearing in National Talent Search Exam to be conducted on 27th November
2005. The application forms for appearing in this exam is available with
District Council (ZP) Secondary Education Officer and last date of filling
forms is 31st August.

Nutan Maratha College Jalgaon Vice-Principal Dr. Ravindra Pawar in aid from

District Health Authorities launches
'Remove Malaria drive':
The District health authorities have launched 'parasites-led diseases prevention
drive' throughout the district. The drive covers up various aspects of controlling
diseases like Malaria and has begun with sprinkling chemicals to control
these parasites birth. Last year the Jalgaon District had more than 2000
cases of Malaria, almost 4 times to that of 2001 and 2002.

Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation Standing
Committee Meeting:
The Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation Standing committee meeting conducted
on Thursday passed various new development works catering to agenda topics.
The committee passed resolution to build up bridge on Lendi Nala, Maurabad
Railway Crossing, and Khedi Nala. It also proposes to widen roads of Pimprala
as per provisions of 11th Finance Commission aid.
Schools and Colleges on strike today:
All Schools and College heads have decided to make a protest closure throughout
the State today for State's ongoing Anti-Private Educational Institution policies.
The State Educational Institutions Confederation announced this protest in
its last meeting held in Jalgaon. Topmost issues are ways and means of implementation
of 'School Accreditation system' and funding required for such system implementation.
Other Education field related associations have also supported the decision
of protest closure today.
The District authorities have appealed all schools to remain functional and
avoid such closure.
Chalisgaon's Samita gets recognition:
Chalisgaon city's Rang Gandh academy's Samita Ghate has received recognition
in form of Certificate for her role in 'Bhint Kachechi' in State Drama Competitions
recently held in Aurangabad. Her play was amongst 48 dramas selected for final
round of participation.
