Darjeeling
Ecstasy: (continued from previous article)
Of many hill stations and tourism places we
see, Darjeeling is one of most glittering with its natural resources maintained
from time to time. Darjeeling derives its name from the Sanskrit word "DURAJ"-Ling
meaning Lord Shiva and is consider abode of Lord Shiva. The weather is Darjeeling
is very unpredictable as temperature fluctuates several times in a day. It is
better to be overdressed. Tea plantation is its specialised farming and Darjeeling
Leaf Tea is one of world renowned Tea for its aroma and taste. Its climate is
cool and pleasant from April to September requiring light woollens. It becomes
cold from October to March requiring heavy woollens. It rains heavily in July
and August. Mirik (48kms), Kalimpong (52kms), Gangtok (120kms) are nearby hill
stations.
Himalyan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park,
Tenzing and Gombu Rock, Art Gallery, Natural History Museum, Peace Pagoda, Tiger
Hill (sunrise point), Batasia Loop, Ghoom Monastery, Rock Garden, and Gangamaya
Lake are Darjeeling's key tourist points.
Praising Darjeeling's beauty is an infinite rigorous task and I would once again
utter 'Every one of us should visit such natural super place at least once in
life'.

JCMC confront:
JCMC announces building up of another Delhi 'Central Mall' styled 'Build Operate
Transfer' basis Shopping mall on vacant location of much disputed Khwajamiya
slum removed space. The 204 shops 'Swami Vivekanand Commercial Complex' development
is under process. The announcement comes on time when the district is facing
acute drinking water shortage at many of remote areas and there is no as such
much need of mall.
There are more than six shopping malls each having around 1000 shops and at
prime locations. The existing malls have almost zero maintenance, there are
various issues relating to day-to-day problems, and there is no one to hear
appeals and resolve them.
The city at this stage needs public amusement parks, residential apartments
to cater to increase demand of accommodating newer ones and offering merriment
on weekends.
