District Civil Hospital receives World Bank Aid:
The Jalgaon Civil Hospital run for charity purpose has received financial Aid worth Rs. 3.75 Crores from World Bank to improve its internal and external infrastructure.
The fund includes Building Development and installing various new Machineries by Year 2005 at the Hospital to benefit needy section of society.

Fire in Amalner: Six shops and one house smashed:
The Amalner city witnessed fire on Thursday midnight in Subhash Chowk area causing complete damage of six shops and one house. Fortunately, an old age woman escaped of fire with courageous efforts of a youth when she was in her house after fire broke down. The fire reasons are still unknown.

30th January:
Power disrupts normal life in Jalgaon District:

The whole of Jalgaon District witnessed blackout on whole of Thursday night following major breakdown at DeepNagar Power Generation centre. The major cause for breakdown remained non-functioning of three units all at a time in DeepNagar Station. The District people will have to face frequent power cuts for today and day-after following war-level repair works going on at DeepNagar Station.

29th January:
Raining chills weather:
Whole of Khandesh region witnessed light to medium raining in various parts of region on Wednesday night causing sudden reduction in temperature and high wind flow throughout the day.

DM implies Section 37(1) and 37(3) of Bombay Police Act:
The District Magistrate in order to maintain Law and Order situation in the District, has implied Section 37(1) and 37(3) of Bombay Police Act from 27th January until 10th February 2004.

Court bails Cyber café owners:
The Bhusaval Court bailed all four Cyber Café Owners and Operators on 28th January. The Bhusaval Bazar Peth Police and Cyber Crimes Cell jointly conducted operation and detained four on 27th January.

28th January:
Police raids three Cyber Cafes in Bhusaval: Arrests 4:

The State Cyber Crimes Cell, Mumbai and Bhusaval Bazar Peth Police station jointly conducted raids at different cyber Cafes (Internet Access Center) in Bhusaval and detailed four under Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act Section 4/5 and IPC 292. The Police seized Computers, Fixtures at these public places, detained four including Shop Owner and Assistant, and gave a precautionary warning leave to three Viewers viewing Pornographic images on computers.
The Police Authorities for Second time conducted such massive campaign to curb evil-minded promotion of Anti-social activities after Jalgaon city.

Railways Helpers attempts Group Suicidal Attempts in Bhusaval:
A group of Railway Catering Division Helpers tried to Suicide protesting injustice from Senior Divisional Officers and RPF. The Helpers tried to suicide using Kerosene, Drinking Poisonous Liquid like Phenyl in front of DRM Office. The Bhusaval City Police Station is further investigating the issue. There are more than 8000 employees in Bhusaval Divisional Railway Manager's Office alone making it one of the biggest employers in Khandesh Region.

Jalgaon Railway Station to be 'Model Station':

Jalgaon's Railway Station will have Brand new look soon with Railways announcing Jalgaon Railway Station as Model Railway Station. Railway Authorities are in process of starting up 'Bhusaval - Mumbai Special Intercity Express' soon quoted Jalgaon's MP in a Press Conference last day.

Five candidates from NCC Corps Jalgaon participated in Republic Day Parade at New Delhi.

City observes Golden glimpse for hosting Mega Jain Community event:

The Jalgaon city is observing history's foremost moment on hosting Jain community's mega event having presence of more than 15000 people from all around India and from all parts of society.
The Acharya Mahapragyaji led Ahinsa Yatra 2004 (The Journey for non-violence promotion) is in Jalgaon from 09th January until 29th January 2004. Thereafter the journey will walk into Indore via Sendhwa. The Community's Annual event Maryada Mahotsav is from 26th January until 28th January 2004. All accommodation places including temporary constructions at Ahinsa Nagar, major hotels, major marriage halls are full of joyous and thrilled fellows from all parts of India.

Meena Borse selected for NCC Parade at New Delhi:
Pratap College Amalner student Meena Vijay Borse, a NCC Cadre student is participating in Republic day parade of NCC.

MJ College gets accreditation for CA Courses:
The ICAI has accredited MJ College for conducting its Professional Education Course 1 and Course 2 from July 2003 onwards. The Study Centre facilitation will help students from region to qualify for courses conducted from ICAI.

JCMC approves non-implementation of Octroi Tax:
The JCMC standing committee has approved non-implementation of Octroi Tax in Jalgaon for upcoming years until State Government continues to provide Compensatory aid. Amongst other issues approved includes Request to State Government for grant of 'Industrial City' Status to Jalgaon, reducing Property Tax, Open-Property Tax and extending deadline to Contractor for Waghur Dam project.

Police Jeep kills Motorcyclist:
The Taluka Police Jeep crossing Bahinabai Garden Cross crashed a Motorcyclist leading towards Akashwani Chowk. The incidence took place on 20th Morning when the 23 years old Wankhede was crossing the road. The Accident caused severe injuries to youth's head, hands, and legs. The youth fighting with his death died on 23rd Morning when he was under treatment at Civil Hospital.
The Youth death has raised question marks about Policeman having responsibility of security of common people. People look forward to know action; the Police Department takes against the culprits.

The State Secondary Education Department has announced Time Table for upcoming SSC Exam for March 2004 from 04th March until 18th March 2004. Please contact your respective School for detailed Time Table.

Around 250 Villages to face Water shortage this year:
The District Authorities are chalking a plan for possible water shortage during upcoming summer 2004 in almost 250 villages in Jalgaon District. The Jamner taluka has highest number of 28 villages while 26 from Chalisgaon and Chopda each.

National Level Kho-Kho Competition at Dhule:

The Dhule city is hosting 39th National Kho-Kho Competition from today. Eleven National Level Teams have reached Dhule city and the whole event is expected to attract people from whole region.

Board announces SSC Exam Time Table:
The State Secondary Education Board has announced Class X (SSC) examination timetable. The SSC Exam begins 04th March 2004 will continue until 18th March 2004. The board earlier announced HSC Exams from 21st February until 18th March 2004.

17th January:
Accidents dilemma continues: Trucks crush Schoolboy at Icchadevi Crossing:
The accident trend continues on major highway points crossing city residential areas especially on school and college crossing. This time a high speed loaded Truck killed a teenager going to his school on Friday Morning 7AM, when he was crossing the Icchadevi chowk near Sindhi Colony area on his bicycle.
Vinay Vijaykumar Hanswani (Age 12), a student of Class VI at Rustomji died immediately following heavy injuries. The residents of Sindhi Colony along with nearby areas blocked the highway traffic for more than an hour and protest against such serial accidents. The Police have recovered Truck but the driver escaped with panic of being penalised.
The Icchadevi Crossing is one of major school traffic crossing connecting Sindhi Colony to various Play Schools, Primary, and Secondary Schools located in Mehrun region, Adarsha Nagar, and Ganpati Nagar area.

16th January:
Lineman's caution detects Bomb-type material:
The Night Duty Lineman on Pachora - Pardhade Railway Line saw a bomb type material (Cells Type wired) lying on line at 377/6/8 and 377/2 on 14th Midnight at around 1.30am. The awakened Lineman informed the Pardhare Railway Station Manager who in turn called Pachora Divisional In-charge and then Pachora Railways Outpost ASI and team arrived for detection. The whole story caused disturbances to UP & down Railway Traffic in night.

Power equations:
The Independent Candidate and Jalgaon city's first Mayor last day joined BJP in a public ceremony. With her joining BJP, the JCMC Rule factor will remain the hottest issue in whole of District for days to home.

Josephian secures First Rank in Mathematics Scholarship:
Jalgaon's Piyush Rajendra Chaudhari, a student of St. Joseph Convent School has secured First rank in Mathematics Scholarship Examination from whole of Jalgaon District.

HSC Examination from 21st February:
The State Higher Secondary Education Board is conducting HSC (Class 12) Theory examination from 21st February until 18th March while Practical Examinations from 06th February 2004 until 17th February.

14th January:
Changing face of National Highways:
Highways, once considered death stone for ordinary men are having a brand new look. The earlier jerky roads are changing to a state of comfortable wide and good condition roads. Informative boards, appealing boards in regional languages marks another significant change leading to change in common men vision of driving and improving safety standards. The Highway Authorities i.e. concerned State PWD Department seems focussing on long term planning. The tight Police security and sending vehicles in groups during night time is reducing number of Loot cases.
On negative aspect, the Government has awarded BOT basis contracts to build up Bridges making contractors charging Road Toll Tax. The trend if continues the same way, will make Toll Tax collection somewhere in top revenue collections troubling the common people. Accidents, the nightmare, still incurs mainly due to Trucks, Public Vehicle Drivers running their vehicles like aeroplanes. The Authorities needs a stronger review on this part by amending the current Laws with provision of cancellation of Driving License for a year or so if a Driver is found Drunken (Using Alcoholic Drinks) at the time of Accident or the methodology used to Test before allocating Driving License for Heavy Motor Vehicles should go under serious review.

"Rashtra ka Hunkar" a Curtain raiser:
The Keshav Smriti Trust is organising a week Long Patriotism Show at G. S. Ground having around 110 Artist on 100 feet wide Stage. The Show's key highlight remains demonstration of actual War incurred during the Freedom fighting. There will be daily two shows on 6pm and 8.30pm respectively with Tickets available throughout the District.

Electoral Preparations in District:
With Parliamentary and Assembly Elections on cards, the District authorities are busy having final look at requirements. The District authorities have recieved 3500 Electronic Voting Machines for Poll Conduct. Use of Electronic Machines will result in faster and faultless Counting and lower headache to authorities. On Citizen's point of worry, the Electronic Voting Machines counting data is available on Booth Basis making candidates know their Vote Area and their opponent's strong hold.
The Authorities will publish reviewed Voter's Listing on 31st January 2004. As per the revision, there are in all 24 Lac Voters in Jalgaon District.

"Til Gud ghya God God Bola", the theme spreading message of love and friendship is coming up on 15th January with arrival of Makar Sankranti Festivity. The fest celebrated by distributing sweet "Til Gud" preparation delights, enlightens the friendship lamp amongst each other, and marks arrival of new Calendar year.

JCMC sports festivity begins today:
The Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation is hosting Sports Carnival from 14th January onwards comprising of Kho-Kho, Cricket, Table Tennis, Lezim, Cycling, Marathon, Power Lifting, Body Building competition, Musical Chairs, Singing competitions.

The Yashwantrao Chavan Open University has announced its results of First Year, Third Year Degree Course in Arts and Commerce for exams conducted in November 2003. Last date of filling forms for May 2004 examination is 25th January 2004.

12th January:
Fruit Stockroom catches fire in Bhusaval:
A Fruit Stockroom in Athawade Bazaar area of Bhusaval caught fire on Sunday afternoon around 2.30pm. The Fire spread in nearby three stores as well. The Fire resulted in damages to various fruits stored inside and shade estimating to around Rs. 4.80 Lacs. Athawade Bazaar is Bhusaval's business nerve area and Sunday is weekly market day for Bhusaval city.
Bhusaval Bazaar Peth Police Station has registered the Fire Incidence and further investigating the matter.

Air-filling machine Compressor explodes: One killed:
A Vehicle Air Pressure filling machine compressor burst on at a shop in Shama Prasad Mukhrjee Garden Shopping Complex resulting in death of one person arrived at shop for air filling and serious injuries to nearby working garage mechanic.
The injuries and death caused due to tank's portion falling on these two persons body on Sunday at around 08am when the Air filling machine was under charging status.

11th January:
Chalisgaon's Tejas Kulkarni receives National Level honour:

Chalisgaon's Tejas Madhav Kulkarni has received Bronze Medal honour from UP Chancellor for his presentation 'Amrut Food' a methodology suggested for improving Children guardianship in Chalisgaon Taluka of Jalgaon District at National Level Children Conference hosted at Lucknow.

Important Note: Doordarshan Antenna Setup:
The Doordarshan Maintenance Centre Jalgaon has urged people of Jalgaon to change their TV antenna in diagonal towards Doordarshan's new transmission on Bhusaval road if they are unable have clear vision on their current antenna. Most of current Doordarshan Channels are visible through Cable TV Operator Cable in Jalgaon city while those not having Cable TV Connection need to reconfigure their Antenna direction if they are facing visibility problem for Doordarshan Channels.
The Doordarshan Centre as a New Year Gift to the people of Jalgaon region started new High Power Transmission centre on 01st January 2004.

09th January:
Ahinsa Yatra recieves gigantic public response:
The Acharya Shree Mahapragyaji led Ahinsa Yatra has received enormous public response with more than 10,000 people participating in never-before no-announcement mute rally beginning at Akashwani Chowk on 08am this morning and reaching Ahinsa Nagar on 10.30am.
The length of rally could be imagined by the fact that rally begun at Akashwani Chowk and extended till Stadium complex with active participation of students of all schools, Teachers, Jain Mandals, Muslim Community, Sindhi Community and other parts of society. Impressed by the huge mob, Gurudev received grand honour at every corner and Chowk of city with welcome booths set up at many points. Many senior saints, Sadhviji offered their Vandana on arrival and joined the mega rally.

08th January:
City turns pilgrimage host for grand welcome of Spiritual leaders:
The whole of Jalgaon city has turned immaculate for grand welcome of spiritual leaders and philosophers. Saint Thakarsinghji spreading message of communal harmony and spirituality is arriving in Jalgaon today at 10.30am and a huge space having capacity of thousands of people has been setup in MIDC area to listen to his sermon.
Jain community's Acharya Shree Mahapragyaji is also arriving in Jalgaon with his Ahinsa Yatra having presence of around 215 saints and thousands of fellows on 09th January at 08am. The Jalgaon city is hosting Jain Community's annual three days Maryada Mahotsav from 26th January until 28th January in 41 Acres huge space at Khandesh Mill Complex namely Ahinsa Nagar and the all saints will stay in Jalgaon from 09th until 29th January.
Everywhere you walk in city, you will find hoardings and welcome digital banners and enthusiastic people from all sections of society participating in various activities of the event.

Harish Thakre secures first rank in whole State:
Parola's Harish Narayan Thakre has secured first rank in All India Competitive Examination in Instrument Mechanic conducted by ITI. He secured 73% marks in this examination.

Ahemdabad - Bhusaval Bus accident:
The Gujarat State Transport Bus overtaken by a Truck imbalanced and crashed with a tree near road causing injuries to 44 passengers in Surat - Nagpur route on Wednesday morning 07.30am. Those injured includes around 8-10 passengers from Jalgaon and Dhule region and most of others from Ahemdabad district.

07th January:
Agricultural Produces committee Election results yields mixed response:
The Jalgaon District Agricultural produces committee elections have yield in mixed reactions on 12 committees. The NCP & Congress I promoted committees in Raver, Bhusaval, Dharangaon, and Parola won while BJP Sena led panel won Jamner, Yaval, Bodwad, and Chalisgaon seats. The 'Farmer's panel' won 12 of 17 seats while 'Sahakar Panel' won just five and lost its stand in Jalgaon and both Pachora and Amalner seats had equal results.

Jalgaon city all set for Ahinsa Yatra grand welcome:
The whole of Jalgaon city will witness mega welcome of Ahinsa Yatra 2004 on 09th January morning. The inaugural silent rally of thousands of schoolchildren along with people from different communities uniformed in white clothing will make the event one of most memorable welcome until now.
The Ahinsa Nagar is almost ready with all latest amenities and facility to incorporate and accommodate around 20 to 30 thousand people throughout the event.

06th January:
Accident dilemma continues: Tractor kills teen
The 2004 has a harsh message for whole of Jalgaon region with accidents continuing their pace. This time a speedy Tractor crashed a teen sitting behind bicycle in city's heart Athawade Bazaar (The weekly shopping market).
Pavan Vishwanath Bhagirathi (Age 13) faced serious head injury when he felt down by tractor tossing him from back on 5th January evening. The Athwade Bazaar is city's one of most trafficked area connecting MIDC, Sindhi Colony, Bazaar area and Navi Peth.
The furious mob attacked the tractor and tried to burn but the Fire Brigade authorities controlled the mob and controlled the scene.

Pulse Polio Skating rally:
The Nashik to Amravati led Skating Rally to promote Polio Awareness in the region will pass through Jalgaon on 06th January. Jalgaon's skating champions will participate in this rally having maximum participants from Akola and Amravati region.

04th January:
Deccan Odyssey takes its first flight - Jalgaon gets no site:
Maharashtra's first and exclusive Travel campaigner 'The Deccan Odyssey' Train is starting its first journey on 24th January with Prime Minister inaugurating Train. The Train will reach Bhusaval Station on Tuesday, 27th January at 5am from where passengers will be taken to Jalgaon where they will receive Traditional Welcome by Instrumental music followed by a Traditional Welcome ceremony. Special luxurious buses will take all travellers to Ajanta from where they will return to Bhusaval via Jamner.
The Train exclusively designed and marvelled to attract foreign tourist in Maharashtra cruise will run once a week and will cost around Rs. 1.25 Lacs for the whole tour.

Pulse Polio immunisation:
The State Health Authorities have urged all parents to take their children below five years to their nearest Polio Vaccination Booth and get Polio vaccine dose. There are 133 booths setup in Jalgaon city for Polio Immunisation. Alike Polling process, the booths will mark child's finger with Ink as a measure of 'Polio dosed'.

District Agricultural Produces committee Elections tomorrow:
The hot debated Elections of Jalgaon District Agricultural Produces Committee are on tomorrow. The Election authorities have made adequate security arrangements for smooth conducts of elections on 14 polling centres. The Poll counting for this election is on 06th January.

Railways announce 15-days Stoppage of Super Fast Trains:
The Railways have announced stoppage of around 22 UP and Down Super Fast Trains for the period of 15 days from 14th January until 29th January 2004 following Jalgaon City hosting Jain Community's mega event Maryada Mahotsav having attendance of more than 20,000 fellows. The whole event hosted at Khandesh Mill campus (The Khandesh Spinning Mills factory premise now named as Ahinsa Nagar) is one of unique event being hosted at one single location.

State announces 50% discounts in Electricity bills to farmers:
The State Government has announced a straightforward discount of 50% to all farmers in the state for bills after September 2003. The State has put aside Intrest on such delayed bills as well. The Announcement comes as New Year Gift for farmers and a ray of hope for State to recover Outstanding of more than 2500 Crores.

Year 2003 farewell: Three killed in accidents:
Two Nashirabad based high-speed motorcycle driving youth crashed with a Truck on Jalgaon - Bhusaval Highway on 31st December night resulting in on the spot death of both the person. Tushar Sharad Patil and Nitin Namdev Rote (Age 24) were on drive when their bike collided with Truck.
In another incidence, a Mini-door driver died on Chopda - Dharangaon Road when his vehicle imbalance caused him crushed by the mini-door near Paldhi.

Dhule City is hosting 39th National Level Kho-Kho Competitions from 20th until 24th January 2004 at Garud High School Campus.
