The Online Entrance Application Mantra:
With Academic year 2004-05, the State Education Authorities have finally
begun their move towards efficient use of Internet Technology. Starting this
year, most of PG (MBA), Technical Education (Engineering), and Education related
Courses (B. Ed.) are having Online Entrance Application procedure. The Education
Authorities didn't passed on the benefit of using technology and instead of
decreasing existing charges for Entrance Examination, they hiked in many of
courses.
The MBA Entrance exam earlier costing around Rs. 1000/- (Application, GD &
PI) costs more now and in addition, has many complications. The State Government's
Technology endeavour Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL) hosting
all of these applications needs many of technical updates. From student's point
of view, earlier they were required to walk only into college and Bank for Payment,
now need to move to internet access centres to fill in and take prints of application
forms, Exam Conducting Authority's Appointed Centre to pay amount, Colleges
to take their hall tickets. The affiliated Colleges receiving admissions through
this quota does not offer guidance and free internet access to fill in and print
forms?
Government's technology efforts will succeed only when it pass on benefit to
the end user/ customer using this technology. It is still far behind and trials
like Online Entrance Examination, Results announcements are imaginations.
Drinking water issues:
The summer arrives with panic for people of Khandesh region especially Asoda,
Dhule District facing acute water shortage. Thanks to last year's good monsoon,
the region survived whole of March and April month. However, the time ahead
especially May and June seems tougher for people of region.
Many areas, villages are facing water shortage and the issue is spreading into
Jalgaon city interiors as well. The time has arrived again for "Making
money from water" for drinking water supplying industry mostly owned by
city's corporators and traditional community. A 2000 litres 'Tanker' charges
Rs. 150 to 200 making a litre of drinking water at 10 Paise. The cost graph
increases in proportion to time and earns maximum in May end and June beginning.
The Political community never considered this issue seriously and considered
it as one of moneymaking machine only. The shopping malls and complexes region
does not have enough dam to store drinking water for a year or so. Just one
rain pour makes our dam full of water. The only one 'Girna' dam in Nandgaon
of Nashik District finds itself in Political turmoil and region has to beg its
water share every time. The much talked Shelgaon barrage, Waghur dam will still
take much time to build up and do not know how much we people have to suffer
for recalling ourselves as 'Khandeshi' on account of drinking water.

for development of jobless, lowering industries based Khandesh region. It is
only the voter to decide fate of these candidates soon.
Gold crusade:
Jalgaon has well known image for its Gold establishments for years. After
years of regular business conduct, these organisations of once have thrown themselves
to messy competition.
Every one focuses strong slogans, quality concerns, and freebies to attract
newer customers. Never heard offers like "Take home free Silver worth Gold

Worshipping hopes:
Adoring God and Goddess has been a traditional way of arousing our hopes
in Indian Culture. Most of us worship daily to the one we believe in as our
energy resource. Every one of us needs encouragement and uplift at various stages
of life. Offering reverence at temples cools our mind and recharges us and it
is one of good practice to go temples at least once a week.
Every community has a set of predefined worship to different God and deity idols.
Marwadi community has a set of interesting "Pooja" throughout the
year. One such "Pooja" is "Bayaji ki Pooja - Bhog," a deity
faith for babies. Most of sub caste in this community worships this deity on
conceiving baby. They invite group of Ladies for Lunch and hums deity songs.
Our culture has a rich set of traditions and if we filter in misbelieves from
it; we get a pure essence of worshipping our hopes. These plus factors have
attracted western world and if you visit inner parts of our country, you will
find many enthusiast foreign tourist keen to learn us, the way we live. On other
side, we are moving away from our Culture and moving gradually towards mixed
western culture just because our culture seems us too flimsy, and pretending.

07th April:
A review of co-operative Banking in Jalgaon:
Co-operative Banking has been one of major business resources for last many
years in Jalgaon District. With increasing competition from Nationalised banks,
private sector banks, the co-operative banking is on arduous stages.
These banks serve purely on contacts and still lag in customer convenience.
With nationalised banks opting for Online Banking, ATM services, and many other
value added services, these banks needs a revolution phase. The lucrative fixed
deposits, Demand draft commission income are reducing every year. Financial
results published by many of such co-operative banks clearly indicate the downtrend
with net profit just at 4% and reducing fixed deposits.
The private sector banks entered in city still have a long chess to go and win
customer confidence. These banks need to form transparent business policy like
nationalised banks to attract business customer. Higher service charges and
using client's money for a day are amongst fewer complaints commonly talked
of about these banks.

04th April:
A Season of Election:
Election, the word itself pronounces power selection and when it comes to
Jalgaon, it holds utmost importance for political figures. Parliamentary election
2004 is one such election where fate of such leaders will take a new turn. Jalgaon's
politics always evolves through issues of Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation,
decreasing water resources, and now a day's leader based issues.
With just a month for election, campaigning seems on slower pace with more focus
on one to one relations rather media campaigning.
What Jalgaon need at this stage is entry of new aspirant youths in politics
who could make a leading in future. At this stage, youth does not seems even
a bit interested in Jalgaon's political encircle. Unemployment, increasing business
competition, lowering profits still remains key concerns to youth involved in
business and industry. Most of industries have begun their substantial Voluntary
Retirement Scheme (VRS) to decrease increasing cost of production.
What we need is some new business opportunities apart from regular trade in
terms of agriculture, and industry. We have fantastic agricultural land, centralised
location but a few industries to talk of.
