Ajanta Caves: Monumental Plunder: Cement porch, flaky frescos:
(Courtesy: Times News Service)
Ajanta and Ellora, although independently located, are always mentioned in the same breath as twins jointed at the hip. These sweeping swathes of caves with sculpture and frescoes are situated far near the Jalgaon.
The Ajanta Caves, which were sanctuaries where Buddhist monks lived for 1,600 years, contain luminous frescoes that depict the various stages in the life of the Buddha. Ellora, whose sculptures represent Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism was carved over three successive periods from 600AD to 1200AD. Both are on the World Heritage List. The sites attract almost seven Lakh tourists a year. In addition, both are in need of preservation. Humidity affects the frescoes and the MTDC has ensured that not more than 40 tourists are allowed into a cave at a time. Other protective measures, however; have not been as sound.
The Ajanta caves, says conservationists, are an example of how the ASI bungled in its attempt to restore the caves to their former glory. An outcry was raised a few years ago when Walter Spink the World's leading Ajantologist, said that the restoration has only caused more havoc. He provides example of how the porch of the Cave I was replaced by a cement one. The ASI restoration has only made the frescoes flakier and darker and warned that they should be left well alone until a foolproof method was found.
Now, the caves have found a new benefactor. Japanese Bank has given a Rs 300 Crore Soft Loan towards their restoration work. What does the ASI plan to do? Carry out some rock buttressing and waterproofing in the caves along with the chemical conservation of a few frescoes. Next year, the MTDC is considering setting up a site museum-cum-orientation centre for tourist.

The invigilator arrives with welcome note and gives you basic information on filling your exam answer sheet. As you are already well aware of the form from your information booklet, you find it normal. Fill in the form, by 2.30pm another supervisor arrives giving your questions booklet, do not open that, and read the cover page instructions carefully. The Question paper is availed in Marathi Languages on left side and English on another side with five options for every question. Once directed, open the sealed question set using your pencil.
Importantly while solving your question paper do not keep calculating at one point, if you do not find answer on first look, go ahead, and solve your next question. Being lengthy question paper, do not waste even a single minute on thinking of a particular question and keep solving. In next 150 minutes, you reach 150+ levels. Test yourself; if you reach above 190 solutions, you had very good practice indeed. If you reach above 175 you needed a revision, if you reach above 150 you need tough practice and it might be tough for you ahead. Below 150 will be lucky only if they belong to reserved category.
As the exam does not have negative marking system, many of the students follows random tick method in last 15 minutes. "The End" bell sounds exactly after 150 minutes with invigilator urging you to stop solving questions. Recheck your paper, verify your roll number and name properly written, and review your answer marking. The "Computerbhai" is not going to entertain incorrectly marked or double marked questions.

The New marketing Mantra:
With arrival of national level companies and latest communication devices, the marketing people are here to explore you. The new edge has a very different upbeat marketing technique to attack customers and grab the orders. So next, times if you receive telephone calls do not worry or hesitate with their chat. Test the marketer's genuineness and service and then only proceed. Such telephonic marketing approach is the hot new mantra of marketing team.
Right from catching your blues until the best of you, they will not leave your call for hours. They start with good gestures for you and start getting your info systematically. Question arises here is this style of marketing justified? Well, marketing has many ideas and the person doing so has the ultimate goal of selling her/ his organisation's inventories. The most important point to remember here is that we must analyse the genuineness of the party doing so before admitting in any sort of conceptual sell.
We have received many complaints and queries for this type of Telephonic marketing especially in terms of Computer Centres doing so. The prattle influences customers so dynamically that the prospective client apart from saying "Yes" does not find any option to end the call. The psychology-pressured marketing has never been a long-term customer sell. The marketing team starts with keywords making you feel proud of yourself viz. "We have selected you from amongst 'n' people from your area," "We offer you free meeting with our expert counsel," "We invite you along with your family to visit us" etc.
Please be noted, analyse the stuff they are providing you and then only proceed with your orders. Do not make any verbal commitments to any one even though she/ he may be pressurising you. If you find situation out of control, take senior people's guidance to tackle the issue.
Marketing teams, selling is your ultimate goal but do not make customer feel your sell as a pressure on him. Instead, focus your quality, show your laurels, demonstrate your current base, and then let prospective client decide what to do next? Explore the marketing with genuine business plan and instead of giving long-term plans do provide them with quarterly plans.
With such marketing trends, the landline telephone instruments will see a new revolution. The inclusion of "Call barring" from a specific number shall soon be a common feature of landline instruments/ local telephone exchanges.

Preparing area wise Voter's listing and individual vote slip is a big manual job. The Advertising industry is also among one of the major beneficiary with Political parties using the media as their voice. Most of the political giants still follow the old traditional manual method of preparing data instead of latest high-tech Computerisation and Internet.
Could we imagine a Political figure having his own URL and engaging himself in a weekly People's forum? Could we see a Politician sending e-mail to educated community requesting to vote for him? Well this all cost-effective and direct approach methodologies still remains away from the regular campaign of the parties and it will take another generation or so to catch the new generation minds.

Wednesday, 04th June 2003 was a deciding day for 33696 students from Jalgaon District who appeared for Feb-March 2003 examination. Everyone was so enthusiastic for what will be the result next.
Continuing its trend to provide the best of Computing and Internet Services from Jalgaon, the Team EJalgaon dedicated its day for the service of students. The "Pay for results" trend breaker EJalgaon.com team crossed all milestones of accomplishment of content services from Jalgaon with this fifth year of online result support.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Deshdoot family for their continued cordial support for providing the best of Jalgaon. We have no "Thanks" words for out Team of 15 members who extended their front-end and backend support for providing the content and managing the load.
The Maharashtra Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education offers results display on its website every year after 3pm, the same time when it allows colleges to provide mark sheets to its students. The earlier years, Board's NIC hosted sites went down following no protection from load and hackers for three continued years. Since last year, the Board site locked its Content display to other website resulting in minimal load and normal functioning to their site. It also started displaying Subject marks since last year result. However, even today the board site lacks many advanced functions like result by e-mail, result by SMS, result by IVRS, result by free phone and many more as compared to other Government website results hosted. It should follow the CBSE result display pattern instead of the current one. The CBSE every year displays result in advance and in complete mark-sheet format making it easy and convenient for students.
The Board initiated first step in student convenience by offering IVRS on Delhi Phone number, means that the student willing to know his result will have to pay for STD charges of Delhi, making after-education expenses more and more. It also offered three numbers from Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur for IVRS in association with MTNL. It also provided Paid-result by SMS service in association with BPL and Idea Cellular.

Under Ahilyabai Holkar Education Scheme, the ST department is providing free passes to around 12 Lakh educating Girls throughout the Maharashtra. It is also providing various ticket concessions to physically handicapped, blind person and Senior Citizens travelling through its buses.
The ST department should modernise its machinery and setup to attract more and more passengers and shall provide an open platform for competition to private operators as telecom sector. The private party competition will result in cost benefits to its passengers and make their staff more efficient. If Jalgaon to Pune route has 20 private buses running every night that too with sufficient number of passengers, it clearly indicates deficiency in quality of service the ST department is providing to common person. Moreover, the ST should round off their ticket rates, which will make passenger's travel convenient and smoother. The Department still lacks in depth implementation of Computerisation and basic customer amenities.
