18th May:
Peak Marriage Season:
This weekend is a season of ultimate lifetime bonds of various new couples
throughout the Khandesh region. Most of the people throughout this Saturday
and Sunday are busy in attending various marriage invitations.
The Marriage ceremony organising families have harsh time due to extreme temperature
and many marriage programmes on the same day. Most of the marriages here are
morning time marriages beginning with digression from boy's home to actual marriage
location. Boy's friends enjoy the marriage by dancing in the route. However,
blazing sun makes this enjoyment bitter and people are finding it very difficult
to adjust.
Leva Community here still believes in boy having his own job rather than his
family wealth and status. Computerised bio data is in local language is another
important by-large seen element of the society.
The most interesting change we observe now days in our society is changing people
view. The once no-importance marriage invitation card now has became a status
symbol and on average people are expediting average cost from Rs. 5 to 100/-
depending on their choices. The pre-marriage night Music extravaganza is becoming
a common event in most of the marriage programmes. Photography and video shooting
are common inclusions.
On average 60%, people here attend the ceremony invitations and most of them
prefer to give their gifts by means of cash. Another new trend we see now a
day is community trying various good things from another community. Take for
instance a Marathi marriage ceremony has all its host and key persons in "Rajasthani
Feta (A Symbol of prestige of Rajasthani family head)" and marriage menus
highly influenced with various dishes from different communities.
Focussing on critical issues related to marriage, dowry still is a part of marriage.
We the younger generation now have the key responsibility to remove this evil.
Remember today's dowry taken will become tomorrow's tax for you. We see most
of families in our region are joint family and the new bride coming at our home
has to adjust with environment. At this stage, we must accept one fact that
our previous culture and today's media influenced culture has difference of
opinion and thinking style. The young generation needs liberal life style while
our previous has a difference and we being hybrid of these two. This difference
is largely resulting in family separation and various other disputes related
to family making our life much difficult. So remember our today's dowry can
cause our separation from family if she decides to do so. Our life may also
become by large "Kahani Ghar Ghar ki" or "Kyunki Sas bhi Kabhi
Bahu thi" and will result in extreme psychological pressure and tension
on us.
So be broad-minded, think positive, what we shall think of our life partner
is mutually understanding one and knowing adjustment factor. By this, we do
not mean no freedom to her, what we mean is an adjustable joint mode living
as if she is a daughter of this family and is living in her parent's home.
Save water, our stock is ending:
With summer about to end, our regional water stock is also ending. This week
stock figures at various dam in region shows very low to zero stock in 12 dam
across the region. So be alert, save water and stop water wastage.
With around 20/30 days still pending for monsoon arrival, the ending weeks may
be bleak for all of us.

The harsh summer has picked up its first victim from Bodwad Taluka. Kashinath
Manikrao Patil, 38 from Chinchkhed Taluka: Bodwad died due to heatstroke when
he came back home from his farm.
The intense summer this year especially in Bhusaval, Jalgaon, and Bodwad taluka
has made life difficult in the region. Dangerous Fire like heat air waves in
noontime especially 12pm to 5pm are making body temperature out of control resulting
in headache and other diseases. Summer has intensified so deep that wind flow
up to 11 in the night is hotter. No-electricity for almost 4 hours a day adds
to panic of heat followed by lower drinking water supply.
The old tradition of calling relatives in vacation is changing. People visiting
from other parts of country find it very difficult in such extremely powered
heat. Many of the relatives getting the heat news have either rescheduled their
trip or almost cancelled the trips. Those who are in Jalgaon are finding it
hard and are in mood of deciding never to visit Jalgaon in Vacation time.

and every school is charging around 100 to 300 per month depending on syllabus.
The Education line has seen dominant role of politicians in last 2-3 years and
the field has become a media of business rather than a pure profession. The
field not only in Jalgaon but also in everywhere is witnessing acute shortage
of teaching faculty. Five-year back situation was exactly opposite; we had expert
and willing teaching faculty members but no machinery and money to provide the
best. Now we have money and willingness to provide the best but we face shortage
of work force in providing the best of education. This supply demand gap is
increasing day by day resulting in lowering of education quality.

The power situation in the region is becoming more and more critical since mid
April and district people are suffering average 5/6 hours power cut daily. The
frequent power cuts and increasing power rates is making people think of alternative
power sources and Invertors, UPS and Generators are becoming need of time. If
the same situation continues, we will soon hear loud voice of power generators
throughout the roads making life much harder and sound polluted.
The time has arrived when we must think of utilising solar energy as powerful
alternative current source. Non-Governmental organisations should come forward
and initiate such power projects, which will not only give public a reliable
power resource but also cheaper power.
