30th January:
NMU will give Photocopies of Answer Sheet to Students:
In a step towards improving NMU's image, the Chancellor of NMU has decided to give Photocopies of Answer sheets to the students. The copies will be provided to students on request by filling a form and paying a sum of Rs. 400/- as charges for the processing. This method will be applied to exams from oct-2001 onwards.

Brahmin Federation's first ever conference on 03rd February in Jalgaon:
All India Brahmin Federation's first ever conference is being held in Jalgaon on 03rd February 2002. The conference will be attended by famous Musician Pandit Hradaynath Mangeshkar, D. S. Kulkarni, Dr. S.N. Navalgundkar, Dr. Snehalata Deshmukh, BinduMadhav Joshi, Dr. Yashwant Pathak, Prof. Prakash Pathak and many other dignitaries.

Jalgaon temperature falls to 3 years low of 4.8deg.:
The Jalgaon city temperature has fallen to lowest of 4.8 on 29th January. Due to this there heavy to very heavy cold breeze effect in the entire area.

City Traffic Department proposes some new Traffic regulations:
Taking into consideration growing traffic rush in the city, the traffic department has proposed some new methods for managing the load. Under this methods Khajamiya to Court Road & LN School to Ring Road both will be made one-way.
It means any vehicle moving from Ring road area towards city will have to come from Khajamiya to Court road, it wont be allowed entry from Ring road to LN School route. Vehicles willing to move towards ring road will have to move from LN School to ring road. Four wheelers & Auto Rickshaws will not be allowed entry from narrow Bajrang Pool which connects Pimrala area to ring road.

Park Avenue & Parx Exclusive retails showroom is opening today in Phule market area of Jalgaon city. The store will provide with latest variety of Park Avenue & Parx Shirts, Trousers, Chinos, Suits, Blazers and Cargos. Adwani family is setting this showroom from Jalgaon.

Container Terminal for Exporters to be inaugurated today:
With a cost of around 4crores the Container Corporation of India has setup a 40,000sqft area buildup container terminal on Bhusawal Railway Station. This project is India's 41st Terminal for container carrying for exporters. Due to this terminal now exporters will save their shipment cost for export of Khandesh Banana.

Jalgaon Home guard division's Assistant District in-charge V. M. Kopalkar has been honoured with President award for his outstanding contribution and service to the department.

27th January:

Jalgaon's 3 cadets participate in Republic Day parade:
MJ College, Jalgaon's 3 cadets Pramod Ladvanajari, Ravindra Gughe, Kanchan Shisode are participating in Republic day parade in New Delhi. Pramod & Ravindra are Senior Under office in Chatrasena and Kanchan is under officer who will be participating in honour parade for Prime minister. Pramod will be working as Second in Command in the parade.

MP to Khandesh water supply project:
The much-awaited project of water from Tapi River in MP to Khandesh seems to be again on paper with Sharad Pawar announcing this issue in his public address in Jalgaon district. The project has proposal of establishing a dam in Khariyaguti Ghat (Tal: Dharni, Dist: Amravati) and second in Nepanagar taluka's Navatha in name of Unneyi dam.

Jalgaon District Milk Federation gets High Quality certification:
NDDB undertaken Jalgaon Federation has got National level quality high quality certification as appreciation for its quality standards. It is for the first time such certification has been given to any Maharashtra based federation. NDDB national board assigns this certification after confirming to standards of products.

Jalgaon's 3 teachers get State government's awards:
State government has announced 2001-2002 state level best teachers awards to 93 teachers in the entire state. Out of this there are 3 teachers from Jalgaon district, 2 from Dhule & 3 from Nandurbar district. Shashikant Tukaram Avhad (Primary Teacher), Prabhakar Mitharam Jangale (Secondary Teacher) & Ramdas Motiram Sonar (Rural area primary teacher) are 3 teachers who are being awarded with this honour.

B. V. Pawar gets "Silver elephant" award in Scout guide:
Jalgaon district' scout guides society's district organiser B. V. Pawar from Amalner has been awarded with highest award "Silver Elephant" from Indian Scout-guide, New Delhi for the year 2000-2001.

Bharat Petrolium Corporation to install 360kms independent Oil Pipe line:

In its one of the most ambitious project the BPCL is about to start its work for 360kms long oil pipe line from Mumbai - Manmad - Indore. This underground pipeline is being installed considering high cost of transportation of the oil products and as second option for the transportation. This pipeline will go through 76 villages of Jalgaon, Dhule & Nashik districts and will cost around 305crore Budget allocation. In Jalgaon district the line will go mainly through Amalner Taluka's western areas.

NMU conducted Novermber-2001 B. Pharmacy result was announced on 18th January for First, Second, Third & Final year Pharmacy. Candidates contact respective college for more details.

Dr. Rajkishor Gupta selected as new Registrar of North Maharashtra University:
Dr. Rajkishor Harishchandra Gupta has been selected as new Registrar of North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. A Letter of appointment was duly issued to him by vice chancellor of the university.

Regular drinking water supply after 3 days:
Regular drinking water supply by Jalgaon municipal council may be possible as high-pressure pumps are set in force. As the water capacity is 22MLD instead of 12MLD stated here by the president K. D. Patil Jalgaon Municipal Council.

B.A. Exam Oct-Nov 2001 results Declared:
The North Maharashtra University declares results of Second & Third year B.A. October-November 2001 on 14th January 2002.

Yatra festival in Indian cultural ajantha caves:
World famous ajantha caves yatra festival is arranged in ajantha caves for one month started from 15th January 2002s by ajantha-ellora friends association, Jalgaon. With a speciality of availability of Tilgul, Rewadi eating item as a special. Prof. Dr. P.D. Jagtap will be giving the detailed information about the engraved pictures in ajantha caves.

Dr. Shahin kazi high school Mehrun (Jalgaon) selected as topper in State level debating competition held at Shahada:
The state level debating competition at Shahada Dist. Dhule by Vazane Nawal library students of Dr. Shahin kazi high school, Mehrun near Jalgaon. Student of 9th class Ms. Roshan Aftab, Meer mahid Ali stood third and won Rs. 301/- & Cup in Marathi language debating. In Urdu group student of 9th class ms. Kausar Jahan mohd. Rauf stood second & won Rs. 501/-. Guided by their teacher's ati kulla khan & sayyed altaf lukman beg. Heartily congratulated with kind blessings by the school comity members.

Balkrishna Sonawane invited for world poet Conference:
Balkrishna Sonawane of Chopda Tahsil Dist. Jalgaon is invited by International society of poets (America) for its annual program in Valt (Disney), Florida State, US to be held from 1st to 3rd March 2002. For this event out of 31Lakh poetry only 33 poetries are selected & one of Balkrishna Sonawane will be published in "Under a Quive silver moon" under "Natures Echoes " section.
