28th February:
Burhanpur Railway reservation Computerised:
MP's Burhanpur Railway station has now began Computerised Reservation from 27th February. Burhanpur is always a close connection with Jalgaon and many of the students comes here for their higher education as well as jobs.

27th February:
No New Railway allocation disappoints Northern Maharashtra in Rail Budget:
No New Railway allocation as well as Electrification of Jalgaon - Surat Route disappoints Northern Maharashtra in the rail budget 2002. However out of more than 40 trains to be started, around 5/6 trains will be passing through the northern Maharashtra region benefiting many passengers.

26th February:
S.S.C. Exam from 01st March:
Continuing the fast exam trend this year, the board has decided to take S.S.C. Exams right from 01st March itself. All the centres are being tightly secured so as to avoid illegal issues like copying. Exam seating arrangements have been already sent in to all respective schools and students are requested to get their Hall tickets ready.

Prof. V. R. Patil conferred with Doctorate:
Prof. V. R. Patil now Dr. V. R. Patil from College of Pharmacy, Faizpur has been conferred with Doctorate for his research in "Pharma Cognancy".

Ban on Petrol & Diesel vehicles in Ajanta Area:
In order to reserve the great national heritage of Ajanta several new measures are being taken. The major plan is to ban entry of Petrol & Diesel run vehicles in the Ajanta Area. Now all the vehicles will have to stop at Fardapur which is just 5kms away from Ajanta. For this a huge vehicle parking station is being build up.
Only battery operated or CNG operated vehicles will be allowed to enter in the area. All the shops in Ajanta caves campus are also being shifted to the Fardapur village. After Taj Mahal, Ajanta is the second such heritage where such restrictions are being imposed in order to save the world's great historical place.

Sumit Shinkar selected in National Hockey Team under 16:
Khedgaon, Bhadgaon Taluka's Sumit Shinkar has been selected in the National team of under 16 to play in Bhuvneswhar.

25th February:
Central Railways starts Touch Screen Service at Bhusaval Railway station:
In a step towards ease for passenger, Central Railways has installed a new Touch Screen Terminal at Bhusaval Railway station. The terminal is being inaugurated today. The software provides facility to passengers to view PNR Status, Reservation Availability, Train Schedule, and Route Guide etc.

Violence in Nandurbar disturbs normal life:
On Sunday evening the violence began due to some minor reason and then it expanded into entire Nandurbar city. There are reports of damages and life loss due to this violence.

1236 Candidates appears in SET Exam:
The SET Exam compulsory for becoming a Teacher in state was conducted on Sunday with presence of 1236 candidates from various streams.

Omkareshwar turns 31 in Jalgaon:
The famous Omkareshwar Temple of Lord Shankar in Jalgaon celebrates its 31st Anniversary today. Various programmes are being organised on this eve.

Bhalod's Dr. D. S. Chaudhari awarded by ISTE:
Bhalod's Dr. D. S. Chaudhari working as HOD of Civil Dept. of Engineering College, amravati has been awarded by Indian Society for Technical education for his outstanding contribution in the sector for year 2001.

24th February:
Dr.Bhushan Chaudhari selected for Japan Government's Scholarship:
NMU's Life science department's faculty member Dr. Bhushan Liladhar Chaudhari has been selected for Scholarship of Japan Government for Research in "Protiomix".
With this scholarship he has become the first professor from NMU to be conferred with such Scholarship. He will be in Japan's Taskuba Science City for 2 years to do this research under the guidance of Dr. Chikafusa Fukajava. He will leave India on 28th February. He is a native of Khiroda, Yawal Taluka.

23rd February:
Varsha Usgaonkar to perform today in Jalgaon:
Marathi Fame Varsha Usgaonkar is arriving in Jalgaon today to perform her famous comedy play "Double Game" organised by Ascent Junior Chamber, Jalgaon.

Prof. M. S. Pagare honoured with Doctorate:
NMU's language department's Prof. Pagare has been conferred with Doctorate by NMU for his research in Khandesh's Ahirani Songs.

State Eligibility Test on 24th:
The SET exam is being organised on 24th February on 10am in M. J. College. There are 1399 candidates who have applied for this examination.

Umesh Suresh Pakhale registers in "Limca Book of Records":
Government Engineering College, Jalgaon's second year student Umesh Suresh Pakhale has registered a new record in Limca Book of Records by becoming first person in the world that can perform reversal of tongue. He can turn his tongue deep into mouth and thus disappearing it. He is a native of Kalwan, Nashik and is just 20 years old.

22nd February:
18,000 students to appear for Scholarship examination in Jalgaon District:
18341 students will appear for Secondary & Higher-secondary school education Scholarship examination to be conducted on 24th February 2002.

Dr. Ramprakash from Bendale College, Jalgaon invited for Seminar:
Dr. Ramprakash from G. D. Bendale College has been invited for Seminar Series at Saurashtra University, Rajkot under "Visiting Fellow Programme" of University Grant Commission.

21st February:
28840 students to give H. SC. 2002 Exam in Jalgaon District:
H. SC. exam starting from 22nd February 2002 has 28840 regular students and 5693 re-exam students from Jalgaon district. In all there are 38 centres Setup for regular students and 14 centres for re-exam students.

Temperature increasing in City:
From last 3-4 days the city temperature meter is continuously increasing resulting in people feeling heavy heat in the afternoon time. On 20th February, the temperature touched maximum of 31.6 & minimum of 18. On 13th it was 27.5 & 12.2 thus resulting in continuous change.

World class Furniture & Home appliances exhibition in Jalgaon:
Jalgaon's Shree Agencies has Setup an exclusive showroom of World class Furniture and Home appliances. In this showroom an exhibition is being organised from 22nd to 24th February for public. This exhibition will demonstrate the best of furniture around the world.

20th February:
BJP-Sena combo wins with clear majority in ZP Elections:
The BJP-Sena alliance has hit back with winning 39 seats out of 68 in the Jalgaon district Jilha Parishad elections. The second runner up was NCP winning 16 & Congress (I) winning 12 seats.

Jalgaon Telephone department publishes Supplementary Telephone Directory:
The Jalgaon BSNL has published a new Supplementary Jalgaon telephone directory containing all new numbers allotted in the last year. The Directory is FREE for telephone holders and they can obtain the copy from telephone office by showing last paid telephone bill receipt.

18th February:
Rainfall hits district again:
It was a pleasant reminder of the last Sunday's rainfall and snowfall, this Sunday also atmosphere was very cloudy and in night it showered again on the district. A result of the rain was loss of crop for the farmers again for the consecutive Sunday.

Jalgaon's Ramchandra Malsure selected in Indian Softball Team:
Jalgaon's Ramchandra Malsure has been selected in Indian Softball team to play in Asian Junior Softball competition, Philippines. After Kishor Chaudhari, he is the second player selected from Jalgaon for the team.

16th February:
Election campaigns for Jilha Parishad and Panchayat Samiti in full swing:

Final stage election campaign of all political parties is in full swing for Jilha Parishad & Panchayat Samiti Elections. The elections are scheduled on Sunday, 17th February.

18 PH. D. and 8443 degrees conferred in NMU Convocation:
8443 students from 9 different streams along with 18 PH. D. Scholars were conferred with Degrees in NMU Convocation 2002 by the hands of Dr. Nigvekar (Chairman, University Grant Commission UGC).

Shakil Shaikh Usman (Urdu), Mrs. Mangala Prabhakar Jangale (Economics), Ravindra Mahadu Salunkhe (History), Shubhangi Dinesh Rathi (Politics), Punjabrao Harchand Pawar (Physics), Vidya Sunil Galankar (Botany), Nilima Himmatrao Patil (Botany), Gyaneshwar Patil (Electronics), Anant Agase (Chemistry), Vilas Damodarrao Raghtate (Mathematics), Sureshchandra Pratapsingh Girase (Commerce), Jayram Buddha More (Commerce), Arun Damodar Yeole (Commerce) and Digambar Murlidhar Devang (Education) are the 18 Ph.D. Doctorates for the year 2002.

February 2002 H. Sc. Examination Seating position declared:
Exam fever is back here. H. SC. Exams are much earlier than expected. Board has declared that H. Sc. Exam will now be conducted in Feb last. Students are requested to contact their respective colleges to get Hall tickets.

15th February:
NMU declares BAMS Results:
The North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon has declared results of BAMS examination conducted in November 2002 on 13th February. All the concerned students are requested to contact their respective colleges for collecting their mark sheets.

City getting polluted water supply:
The entire Jalgaon city is getting polluted and unhygienic water supply since last few days. Due to this supply various people in the society are reporting many new diseases and cough, cold or such other problems are increasing day by day.
People are requested to apply boil and filter supply water before drinking in order to avoid such problems.

Higher Secondary education will have "Information Technology" as a new optional subject in Maharashtra:
As per Information technology guidelines of Maharashtra state, the XI & XII education will now have one optional subject of "Information Technology" from the year 2002-2003. The education department is in process of finalizing syllabus and text material for the same.

The Sunday Snowfall final casualty report indicates loss of 10.5crores for the Khandesh:
The Sunday's sudden heavy rainfall and snowfall casualty report has indicated that there was a loss of 10.5crores for the Khandesh in terms of crops, property etc. 3 People, 20 animals, 29 mammals, 1 donkey are reported death. The worst affected area was Erandol and Dharangaon taluka were most of the death and loss was reported.

12th February:

More crop loss & Animal deaths reported due to Rainfall and snow:
The Sunday Snowfall loss toll is increasing day by day with reports of huge crop loss to the farmers and moreover around 10 animals with 50 mammals are reported death.

11th February:

Snowfall causes huge crop loss, 3 reported Death:
The unexpected and sudden snowfall and continuous heavy raining in the entire Sunday has resulted in huge crop loss for the farmers and 3 people are reported death in this raining. The cotton buying centers also suffered heavy losses due to this sudden rainfall.
The most affected area due to this raining was Dharangaon Taluka where the snow was in big size and for more time compared to other areas of Khandesh.

NMU's 10th Convocation on 16th February:
North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon's 10th Annual Convocation ceremony is being held on 16th February 2002. In all 8443 degrees will be conferred to the students out of which 4092 will be present and rest 4351 will be posted individually.

NMU declares MBBS results:
The October 2001 MBBS exam result was declared by NMU on 08th February 2002. Concerned Students are requested to contact their respective colleges for collecting mark-sheets.

Jalgaon's Avinash Balkundi receives "International Hindi Honor":
International Economy Forum has honored Jalgaon's Jivan Asha Trust's Chairman Avinash Balkundi for 2002 with "International Hindi Award".
He has been honored for his outstanding service to community and social service.

10th February:
Unexpected Rainfall Changes entire City climate:
A Sudden and expected rainfall has changed entire city's climate and once again the cold wave has hit the district. Right from last night entire atmosphere was cloudy and today morning around 10am a sudden rainfall of around 30mins changed entire city as well as district's climate.

ST Bus & Truck accident near Varangaon kills 11 & 31 injured:

A fast running truck from Akola to Bombay near Varangaon suddenly crashed with Bhusaval to Bodwad ST bus with full speed resulting in death of 11 people and more than 31 are seriously injured.

Dr. Sanjeev Hujurbajar selected for Asicon Spine Fellowship:
Jalgaon's Neurosurgeon Dr. Sanjeev Hujurbajar has been selected for ASICON's Spine Fellowship. He is the first doctor in entire Maharashtra to be selected for this fellowship.

Private Travel operators withdraws strike:
The one month long private Travel operators strike has been at last withdrawn due to state government giving no response to its demands. All the private bus owners have decided to commence their services from 11th February with strict conduct of codes.

09th February:

World bank to aid 43crores to Jalgaon District:
The state government has been aided with 1656crore rupees in order to improve state water supply and infrastructure. Out of this budget Jalgaon will get around 43crores for improving water supply and cleanliness drive. The District council has already sent in its proposal for the allocation of this amount and it is expected to reach soon.

Ms. Lalitaben Shah elected as vice-president of All India Women Council:
Chopda's Ms. Lalitaben Shah has been elected as Vice-president of All India Women council in a meeting at Gujrat Convention.

Engineer's Institute established in Bhusawal:
Engineers and different fields in Jalgaon district have came together and formed a Engineer's association at Bhusawal. The main objective of this institute will be aiding students for higher education in engineering.

Bhusawal's Anil Mahajan awarded by President of India:
Nashik fire brigade's chief Anil Chudaman Mahajan has been awarded by President of India for his outstanding service to the department. He is native of Bhalod, Yawal in Jalgaon district.

08th February:
Gold Touches all time High of 5000 mark:
Gold prices in last 3 days have touched all time high of 5000. This high is maximum of last 3 years and is expected to increase more due to Dollar Vs. Rupee war.

15th Jain Cricket Trophy begins:
Jalgaon's Jain group sponsored Jain Cricket Trophy's first match was inaugurated today by the hands of Dr. Sanjeev Mukharjee. Various Industrial units like Jain Irrigation, KBX, Supreme, Dalmill Associations are participating in this contest.

05th February:
SSI registration to Information technology related services:

The central government in its new ordinance has made it compulsory for information technology related services to register under Small scale Industry. It includes 10 services viz. Computer Data Conversion & processing, Medical & Legal Transcription, Web Designing, development, Call centres, Data communication link using voice, bank office processing for Bank, Insurance companies, Airlines, Contact development & animation video, Film Making. For more information please contact nearest DIC office.

State eligibility test on 24th February:
The SET Exam, compulsory for Professorship is scheduled on 24th February in Jalgaon. Earlier it was declared on 17th but due to elections all around in the district it is now rescheduled.

IMR Jalgaon launches its official Website:
Institute of Management & Research, Jalgaon has launched its official website name http://www.imrjal.com. The students of IMR design this site in-house.

01st February:
New "Number Plate" Regulation comes into act from today:
The Road Transport Authority (RTO) has declared a new code for number plates that are displayed on the vehicles. By this regulation, the private vehicles will have to keep their number plates in Black colour digits with While Background and Public Transport vehicles such as Auto-Rikshaws, Trucks, Travel Buses etc will have to keep Black Colour digits on Yellow Background. All numbers must be compulsorily in English language only. This regulation has come into effect from 01st February 2002.

"Farmer - 2002" Agriculture Exhibition in Jalgaon:
"Farmer - 2002" Agriculture exhibition is being held in Jalgaon from 15th to 18th February 2002. Various Companies in the field are participating in the exhibition. Latest technology in Tissue Culture, Green House, Fertilisers, Nursery, Farming and many other topics will be demonstrated and discussed in this exhibition.

Sancharnet still not allotting new accounts:
"Sancharnet", the newly established National Internet Backbone (NIB) of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is still facing many problems. No New Internet connection, mail server problem and many other are common issues with Sancharnet. BSNL is not allotting new connections all over India due to which many new users awaiting to connect to wired world are bit disappointed. Officials at BSNL says that the issue will soon be resolved within coming 8-10 and then they will be able to allot new accounts.

New Telephone exchange to be inaugurated in Ramanand Nagar Area on 02-2-2002:
A New OCB Telephone exchange of 3000 lines capacity is all set and installed in the Ramanand Nagar area and will start its working from 02nd February. All the numbers of Ramanand Nagar, Yashwant Nagar, Bhagwan Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Shiv Colony area will now be changed to 28 series.

MBA and MMS CET exam on 03rd February:
The MBA & MMS Entrance exam CET will be conducted on 03rd February 2002 in 3 centres in Jalgaon city. One centre in IMR Campus and another two in MJ College are all set for the conduct.
