31st May:
Midterm Assembly Elections begins today in Jalgaon:
The Midterm Assembly Election 2002 has begun today in Jalgaon. For
the first time in Jalgaon, electronic voting machines are being used
for polling. This process will ease counting process and result in faster
result declaration.
Tight security arrangements have been made by the commission to avoid
unfair practices. There are in all 305 polling centers in entire Jalgaon
city out of which 27 have been declared highly sensitive. More than
3000 Policeman have been employed all over the centers. Collectorate
has announced local holiday considering election. All local banks, Government
offices, University, colleges and other Government Institutions will
remain closed today.
Today's Election will decide fate of Suresh dada Jain, Prof. Chandrakant
Sonawane, Narendra Patil and 2 other independent Candidates.
So if you are Jalgaon citizen, it is your turn now. Go and poll today
for your choice of candidate. Your poll only can decide the fate of
Jalgaon.
Raver witness Rainfall with Snow:
Last night there has been a sudden rainfall with Snow in Raver city.
It began around 3pm in noon for around 30minutes. Snow of Gram size
added to welcome of monsoon in the district.
B.Com Results announced:
NMU conducted F.Y.B.Com exam 2002 results are out. The NMU declared
results on last day. The result sheets have been mailed to colleges.
Students are requested to collect their respective mark sheet from their
college.
4700 applications received in D. Ed.
Admission:
4700 applications have been received for the admission to Diploma in
Education for the academic year 2002-2003. Merit listing will be announced
around 10th to 12th June for final admission listing. This course is
compulsory for those who will to become a primary teacher in schools.
Also from this year Bachelor of Education Course fees hike has been
made. For payment seat it is now 25k instead of 20k and for free seat
it is now 10k instead of 8k.
Schools to start from 14th June in Jalgaon:
All Schools in district will start from 14th June 2002 for the academic
year 2002-2003. Most of the schools are now pack in admissions for all
the classes.
30th May:
Electricity troubles life in entire District:
Since last week there has been severe electricity problems in entire
district. Almost 4-5 hours daily shut down has hampered Jalgaon's entire
Industry and heat-beaten public.
The MSEB officials have stated that the problem has been due to less
production and critical faults in Production units. Even in the metros
like Pune, Nashik and Aurangabad there is a daily power cut of 2hours.
Chalisgaon's Sujata Shirude First in
Arts Stream:
Chalisgaon's Sujata Balvant Shirude stood First in entire Arts stream
in Nashik Division in HSC exams 2002.
She secured 508 marks out of 600 in her papers.
Jalgaon's Banana containers exports
to Saudi:
Jalgaon's Banana is now being exported to Saudi Arabia and its first
consignment will be shifted on 03rd June 2002. Around 21ton Banana is
in process of packaging from Chinaval, Maskavad, Rojhoda, Veloda and
other high quality Banana farming zones.
29th May:
Uttar Maharashtra College's Ravindra Savkare stands 10th in Board:
Uttar Maharashtar Commerce College's Ravindra Govind Savkare has
shown outstanding performance in Commerce stream. He stood 10th in merit
list the entire Nashik Division.
Dhule's Fail student in Merit List:
Jaihind, Dhule's student whose mark-sheet shown FAIL, has achieved 6th
Place in Merit list of Arts Stream after he filed Revision for marks.
28th May:
Final Phase of Election Campaigning in full run:
The final phase of campaigning for Assembly Elections 2002 in Jalgaon
is in full swing. All politicians are on high alert status with full
attention towards public.
Kanchan Shukla's Poem selected in World
Poetry Conference:
Dharangaon's Kanchan Rajendra Shukla, a 4th Class school student, written
"My Dear Uncle Bin Laden" poem has been selected for World
Poetry conference to be held at Washington.
She has been awarded with $1000 for her outstanding Poem.
Bhusaval yields 70% average result in
HSC:
Bhusaval has shown outstanding performance in HSC exam 2002. This time
there has been an average of 70% result in all for Bhusaval. Arts stream
had 60%, Commerce had 84% and Science had 67% result.
27th May:
Jalgaon wins State level Softball competition:
Jalgaon has shown outstanding performance in 9th State level Sub-junior
softball competition conducted at Dombivali. Jalgaon team defeated last
year winner Yavatmal in the final match of the series. Jalgaon has won
this award for the 7th time in Softball Competition.
26th May:
Academic movement begins in City:
With HSC results opening now all the colleges are flooded with students
willing for their future education admission. This year it has been
a good result for Jalgaon compared to last year.
Most of the successful candidates are willing to join medical, Telecommunication,
Engineering and IT. MH CET results were also declared this week. SSC
results 2002 are also about to declare in forth-coming week.
Political Environment heats up with
Controversy:
With election coming up on 31st May, the political environment in the
city is heating up with controversy issues. Senior political leaders
have begun a series of Election visits to the city and are busy in mass
campaigning.
This midterm Assembly election assumes significance and is seen as tough
fight between giants. Election is being conducted using Electronic Voting
machine for the first time in the Jalgaon district. The Election Commission
has started a series of demonstration for polling through Electronic
machines in various areas of District.
25th May:
Girls tops boys in HSC exams:
In an interesting summary of HSC results 2002, it has come out that
Girls have secured more percentage than boys in the overall Nashik Division.
In Jalgaon there has been 68.36% passing for Girls and 59.98% for boys.
Dhule had 58.19% and 48.08%; Nandurbar had 54.76% and 46.01%; Nashik
had 72.51 and 58.68% for Girls & Boys respectively. Overall there
has been 67.02% passing ratio for Girls as compared to 55.87% of boys
in entire Nashik Division.
24th May:
Most of the state faced power cut due to failure of high-tension supply
lines.
The interstate high-tension Power supply lines Failed yesterday in the
morning at 8:58 am and cut power supply to most of the regions in the
state. The supporting cables failed too due to excess load.
Raver Taluka faces severe water Problems.
Most of the parts in Raver do not receive water at all and the few places
that receive water get a very short supply at odd timings of the night.
The people are demanding a new distribution system for the city so as
to minimise the trouble to obtain drinking water.
23rd May:
Ketan Kulkarni stands first from Jalgaon District:
Jalgaon's Ketan Gunvant Kulkarni stood First from entire Jalgaon
district in HSC exams 2002. In all 10 students from MJ, Jalgaon and
3 (one each from Bhusaval, Amalner and Chalisgaon) are in merit list
of 52 students of Nashik Division. Nashik stood first with 20 and Dhule
at third rank getting 9 listings in General Merit list.

22nd May:
39% students pass PMT exam:
The state government conducted PMT test exam has shown passing percentage
of 39%. In all 83581 students appeared for the exam and 32518 students
of these have been successfully listed in merit listing.
21st May:
PMT results declared:
Jalgaon's Harsha Vijay Naval has shown outstanding performance in
PMT Exam conducted by MUHS, Nashik. More details of result are awaited.
Pornima somani stands second:
Jalgaon's Pornima Somani has secured Second rank in entire Education
College by obtaining 79.63% marks in girls.
H.S.C. Result on 22nd:
Board will announce H.S.C. (XIIth) result 2002 on 22nd May 2002. The
result is being made available by our SANTRONIX group through our this
ejalgaon.com portal. All Jalgaon district result along with merit list,
College-wise listing will be made available one by one.
20th May:
Jhipru Anna Maharaj Festival from 01st June:
Nashirabad's fame Jhipru Anna Maharaj Festival is being organised
from 01st June to 04th June in Nashirabad on eve of his 53rd Birth Anniversary.
Different programmes have been organised to mark the event.
19th May:
Election Environment continues in District:
Considering forthcoming Assembly elections on 31st May 2002, all
political parties in Jalgaon have tighten up their belts and have started
commenting on each other.
This time the fight in election is going to have long term impacts on
the Jalgaon life as the election is among strong contestants and that
also as a prestige issue for them.
This election only will decide the fate of Jalgaon for major issues
like Drinking water and others.
Ajanta will run Pollution free Buses:
In attempt to minimise pollution is Ajanta area, the ST is starting
CNG based 10 ST buses from Fardapur T Point to Ajanta Caves. All the
buses are equipped with Air Suspension and CNG equipment in order to
have pollution free Ajanta Drive. Out of these 10 buses, 5 are fully
Air-conditioned and 5 will be normal buses. These buses will start from
June beginning in the region.
More load shading from MSEB in future:
The North Maharashtra will have more power cuts from MSEB as indicated
in a report. The report indicates that there is a huge shortage of 300megawat
in demand supply in the region. As a result the department is going
to make some strict power cuts in the region. Currently 2hours a day
and 4 days a week is power cut for city area and 4 hours a day and 4
days a week is power cut for rural area in the region.
The intense heat and drinking water shortage is now being added along
with this power cut as a free grievance for public.
Group community marriages: A new trend:
Jalgaon now a day is witnessing a new trend, a trend that combines old
and new generations with a difference. Since last year we witnessed
many community group marriages in the district resulting in huge benefits
and convenience to parties on the both side of marriage. Moreover the
group marriages makes the new couple feel secured and pleasant with
many more new friends in the row.
18th May:
Nashik wins Jasdanwala Cricket Trophy:
Nashik Cricket Team has struck the Jasdanwala Cricket Trophy organised
from 8th May. Ahmednagar stood runner up in the trophy.
17th May:
Five candidates in ring for Assembly Election:
After 16th May, the final date for withdrawn of Nomination forms,
now there are only 5 candidates in the ring for Assembly Elections 2002.
Sureshdada Jain, Prof. Chandrakant Sonawane, Ashok Kolhe, Narendra Patil
& Shaikh Amin are the five contestant for the elections.
400 electronic voting machines have arrived in Jalgaon for the poll
and Photo Identity card has been made compulsory for the voters.
Jalgaon's Rudrapratap Sarode selected
in International Table-tennis Festival:
Jalgaon's Rupdrapratap Shivaji Sarode has been selected among 10 boys
from India who will be attending the festival in Europe's Hungry, Budapest
and Slkovakia. The team will leave India on 17th May 2002.
Jalgaon is moving:
With increasing number of problems in day-to-day life, Jalgaonities
are moving away from Jalgaon. In this month two different property exhibitions
from Nashik & Pune were organised by some Builders.
The exhibitions were overwhelmed by Public and the builders got very
good response to the package deals and basic facilities available in
Nashik and Pune. Some people buy new property as a mean of Investment
and some buy for shifting. But if this year same situation of Water
shortage and heat continues then it is pretty sure that Jalgaon will
have negative impact in terms of population and living standards.
16th May:
Educational Fair in Jalgaon:
Malhar Communications and A&S Associates have jointly organised
an Educational fair in Jalgaon from 17th to 19th May 2002. Various Colleges,
Educational Institutions and Management colleges are participating in
the event. The event will also cover a series of lectures by dignitaries
from different fields.
Tushar Patil flies to UK:
Jalgaon Government Polytechnic College's Student Tushar Patil has been
selected for Software Development Training in UK by MBT.
15th May:
Assembly Election Nomination Papers checked: 7 candidates in ring:
Jalgaon's midterm Assembly Election nomination filling process has
been completed and the forms are being validated. The commission has
received 10 Forms and out of this 3 forms are found to be invalid and
complete.
Now 7 members in ring are: Suresh dada Jain (NCP), Prof. Chandrakant
Baliram Sonawane (Shivsena), Narendra Bhaskar Patil (Independent), Chablidas
Tukaram Khadke (Independent), Shaikh Amin Shaikh Yasin (Independent),
Ashok Pundlik Kolhe (Indian Republic Party).
16th May is the last date of forms withdrawn and elections are scheduled
on 31st May.
Indefinite Curfew imposed in Nandurbar:
Nandurbar is still in tension. Considering the riots, the police is
on high alert and it has imposed indefinite curfew since 14th evening
6pm.
14th May:
Nandurbar burns with Communal violence:
In an unprecedented event, the Nandurbar City suddenly turned violent
due to clashes between two communities. The violence started due to
some minor quarrel between two people. Since both belonged to two different
communities the clash became a major issue of fight between each other.
Until now 2 people killed and 53 are serious and admitted in hospital.
The nearby Dhule & Jalgaon districts are on high police alert.
H.S.C. results on 22nd May 2002:
The H.S.C. (XIIth) result will be announced on 22nd May 2002, Board
formally announced this decision.
13th May:
Sameer Yeolekar flies to US for MS:
Erandol's Sameer Sharad Yeolekar flies to USA for MS in Computer
Science. He did his B.E. (Computers) from Bombay.
Dishank Gupta Stands 12th in Scholarship
Exam:
Jalgaon's Dishank Dilip gupta has secured 12th Place in recently conducted
Scholarship Examination. He obtained 238 out of 300 marks.
12th May:
Temperature falls significantly: People relax:
In last week there has been a significant fall down of temperature
in entire Khandesh area. The temperature has reached 39 from 47.2 in
last week. People are feeling relaxed due to this change.
The Drinking Water issue still remain at top priority. People are still
facing acute shortage of water and the supply that is provided by Council
is sometimes highly polluted and has no use at all.
Election heat increases:
With Elections coming up, each and every political banda is busy in
setting up his voter's group and most senior leaders are busy in Election
campaign.
The News media is full of political news against each other and the
Water issue has become secondary.

(MSRTC) bus, you will definitely feel a difference. The buses are more
clean and good looking as compared earlier. The Conductor and Driver
attitude in buses has changed a lot.

All encroachments on the National and
State Highway to be removed before rains.
Considering the frequency in road accidents on the National and State
highways in Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar districts, the Public Works
Department has pledged to remove all the encroachments on these highways
before the rainy season starts.

Air Breeze gives relaxation to Jalgaonities:
The long continued 47 measure is decreasing now with cool wind flowing
all the way. Since last 2 days the temperature has fallen significantly.
Due to this lowering down people are feeling relaxed.

Jalgaon Mid-term Assembly Election Process begins:
Jalgaon's Mid-term Assembly elections 2002 Process has began. Nominations
can be filed from 06th May to 13th May 2002. All received nominations
will be scanned on 14th May and candidates willing to draw back their
candidature can take back from 14th to 16th.
The Election is held on 31st May 2002 from 07am to 05pm through Electronic
Voting Machine and the results will be announced on 02nd June 2002.

The Nashik Road Property exhibition is getting very good response
in Jalgaon city. The exhibition is being held in Jalgaon for the second
time by Builders & Developers from Nashik.
Municipal Council to supply water after
every 3 days:
Jalgaon Municipal Council is now going to supply drinking water after
every 3 days. The council announced this decision after getting enough
water resources from the nearby area.
Junior College Results on 08th May:
Junior College's 11th Class result is about to declare on 08th May 2002.
Result will be made available in respective college.
4000 people appear for test of Army:
4000 enthusiast people appeared on Saturday Morning for the test of
army. The test was conducted at Police Head Quarters ground in Jalgaon

NMU extends deadline for MCA/ MSC Entrance
forms:
North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon has extended its deadline for
sale of Entrance exam forms for MCA/ MSC entrance exam. Forms are available
at NMU's office at Bambhori.
Commando Security implied for Bhusaval
Division of Railways:
In order to guard its property, Bhusaval Railway division has now been
allotted with Commando security that has specialised training for Railway
security. The commandos are equipped with all latest equipments for
protection and fight against attacks.
03rd May:
Heat Wave makes life difficult:
May has just began. The Thermometer has already crossed 46 mark and
life is becoming difficult day by day. Bhusaval is state's most heating
place with thermometer showing 47.3 on 02nd May. This severe heat is
causing life hangup from 12pm to 5pm in entire khandesh belt.
On the other hand the water problem & power supply by MSEB is also
causing deep troubles to farmers and normal business life.
