30th November:
Pavan Express Passenger killing:
The Railway
Authorities and Police have disclosed that the incidence that took place in
Pavan express was no way a State/ regional clash rather the persons killed belonged
to criminal background.
Of five thrown in from fast running Pavan express, four died while one survived
in the accident.
JCMC begins alternate day Drinking water supply:
The Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation has begun Alternate day Drinking
water supply in entire Jalgaon city. The order came in after 2 months of around
130% monsoon raining this year.
ZP Elections in Dhule, Nandurbar:
The EC is conducting Dhule and Nandurbar District Councils (Zilha Parishad)
elections today. There are in all 913,782 eligible voters in Dhule while 691,661
voters in Nandurbar district.
29th November:
Income Tax returns filling:
The IT Department has extended its last date
of filling Audit Returns until 01st December 2003. The day extension offered
following 30th November being Sunday. The IT office remains open on Saturday
and Sunday as well to accept all returns.
The Jalgaon District has two Ranges with 10 Income Tax Wards and other offices
aggregating around 15 Income Tax Officers, Two Assistant Commissioners, Two
Joint Commissioners of Income Tax, and a commissioner office and is region's
one of the top revenue collection resource.
Accident kills one and injuries three Jalgaon
natives in Pune:
Jalgaon's native family having establishment in Pune faced a Car - Bus Accident
resulting in death of one person seating in car while injuries to all four in
Car on Sikrapur cross on Pune National Highway on Friday afternoon. The Mercedes
car leading towards Pune from Jalgaon crashed with a State Transport Bus resulting
in immediate death of one person sitting behind and injuries to four including
driver. The four includes two kids and all are under treatment at Ruby, Pune.
Savda Bus Stand inauguration today:
Savda's newly built up Bus stand inauguration ceremony took place today.
This Savda Bus Stand is Jalgaon District's first ever built 'BOT' basis Bus
Stand built up in 4000 sqft area with six platforms, shopping complex, and various
modern amenities.
Four killed in Train:
A group of pugnacious youths threw away five youth in high speed running
Pavan Express Train on 26th November midnight when they were moving away in
to another coach resulting in death of four and severe injury to one. The clash
begun on issue of seating in General bogie of Pavan express resulted in fight
between Bhusaval's youth and other state youths. All five youths were Bhusaval
native moving in another state. The fourth died on Friday when he was under
treatment in a civil hospital. The Chalisgaon - Manmad Railway Police, Nandgaon
City Police have registered FIR and further investigating is going on.
Considering the current clash and ongoing disputes in Assam and Bihar, the Rail
Authorities needs to review the Train passenger entry and amend various restrictions
like no General Coaches in Express Trains, More Railway Security, More passenger
trains with local coach etc.
28th November:
Aids awareness rally on 01st December:
The District Health Authorities have organised
an Aids awareness Rally on 01st December 2003 on the eve of World Aids Day and
Aids awareness week. The rally beginning with Civil Hospital will pass throughout
the city and dissolve at Shahu Maharaj Civil Hospital.
27th November:
Oriental Bank of Commerce opens up its Jalgaon Branch:
The State owned Oriental Bank of commerce popularly
known as OBC is opening up its Jalgaon branch on 28th November 2003. The OBC
is amongst one of top performing nationalised Banks in India and has various

ABVP convention from tomorrow:
ABVP's 38th State Convention is beginning tomorrow at G. S. Ground Jalgaon

MIDC Police Station entraps robber:
The MIDC Police Station has caught another robber in connection with robberies
in last week. The Court has sent the crook for PC until 27th November 2003.

25th November:
Father kills his three children and himself in Dhule:
The whole of Khandesh shocked when Dhule's
Chandan Nagar, Deopur area resident father killed his three children with sharp
pointed knife on Monday 24th November at around 8.30pm time. The three includes
two daughters and a son. The person after killing these three killed himself
by popping the same knife on his neck and body.
His wife after arriving from her duty faced awful shock to see all four killed.
The person was a 'vegetable seller' while his wife was working as Nurse in a
private hospital.
Chalisgaon's Soldier Hemant Joshi dies in Chattisgarh:
Chalisgaon's valiant boy Hemant Shashank Joshi (Age 22) serving in CRPF
139 Battalion Pune since last 2.5 years died in explosion in Chattisgarh while
doing his Elections duty. His body will reach Chalisgaon today with full State
Honour.
With courageous boys like Hemant, the Khandesh's soil has all the time spawned
brave and leading youth to lead and contribute formation of today's India.
Jalgaon stadium to be transferred to District
Sports Authorities:
The JCMC standing committee has passed resolution to transfer Jalgaon City's
Stadium to District Sports Authorities. The State's acquisition of the Stadium
will lead to formation of a modernised Stadium with State sanctioning grants
worth Rs. 4.5 Crores.
24th November:
Police catches four more shoplifters:
Continuing its Operation to curb crimes, robberies,
and shoplifting the Jalgaon Police has caught four more crooks and has recovered
material from them. The District Police have sent in all eight offenders until
now in manoeuvre begun for intense search and catch of criminals.

both these trains will also halt at Amalner Railway Station.
23rd November:
Earthquake in Raver region:
The Raver region's Raver city, Nimbhora, Waghoda,
Lohara, Kumbharkheda, Chinaval, Khanapur, Atavade, Karjod, Pimpri Nandru, Pimpri
Bhoje witnessed earthquake on Saturday, 22nd November 2003 morning 5.40am to
5.50am. The quake measure 3.7 on Richter scale did not have any casualties or
life loss.
The mild quake raised panic in region and the quake-measuring unit at Hatnur
dam noted the quake graph and the authorities have sent the said graph for further
analysis.
Cottages at Padmalaya:
The Padmalaya Lord Ganesha temple trust has built up six rooms' residency

22nd November:
Police Diary:
The Jalgaon City Police have arrested four
offenders in connection with robberies and shoplifting incurred in this week
and has seized cash, jewellery, and other materials worth Rs. 35,000 from them.
All arrested are teens below 25. Another member from this group has flied away
and further Police Investigation is going on
In another story today, the Jalgaon Court has sent 'simi' activist to Judicial
Custody until 03rd December 2003 and ordered to send him to Sub-jail.
One died in Car incidence:
The Jalgaon to Dharangaon lead Indica car suddenly turned caused death of
one person in car and injury to two. The imbalance causing twisting of car resulted
in severe brain injury and immediate death of Mahendra Atmaram Shirsath (Age
22) and injury to two of his close relatives on Thursday late night.
21st November:
'Non-Violence Journey' enters Maharashtra:
The Terapanth Community lead 'Ahinsa Yatra
2001-04' enters Maharashtra today at Navapur in Nandurbar District. Lead by
His Excellency Acharya Mahapragya Shree, the journey spreads the message of
non-violence and peace around the globe. The Acharyaji's daily lectures include
various key issues focussing the world and India and resolutions to resolve
them.
The 'Ahinsa Yatra' will be in Khandesh region for almost three months and will
tour throughout entire Khandesh region. The Terapanth Community's annual convention
'Maryada Mahotsav' is in Jalgaon from 26th until 28th January 2004 at city's
heart Khandesh Mill formally called as 'Ahinsa Nagar'.
Communal Harmony rally in Jalgaon:
The District Police on Thursday morning organised a Communal Harmony rally
in Jalgaon city in which 77 school's around 8000 students participated. Begun
at G. S. Ground, the rally walked through Nehru Chowk, Shastri Tower, Subhash
Chowk, Bhilpura, Bendale Chowk, Swatantrya Chowk and concluded at New SP Office
in Jalgaon.
Robberies continue in Jalgaon:
The Jalgaon city again witnessed two major shopliftings in city's heart
Navi Peth area that resulted in looting cash worth Rs. 2 Lacs. Crooks broken
down Navi Peth based Suresh Collections taking away cash worth Rs. 1.25 lacs.
In second incidence, the Visanji Nagar based Naughty Looks shoplifted for Rs.
60,000 in form of cash.
The in-string robberies and shoplifting has raised panic in city and question
mark over City Police's night patrolling. The District Police administration
on other hand has urged citizens to co-operate on the issue and inform the Police
if they found any suspected activities nearby them.
20th November:
Twelve Agricultural Products Bazaar committees' elections:
The DM is conducting twelve Agricultural products
Bazaar committees' (popularly known as Krishi Uttpan Bazaar Samiti) elections
on 04th January 2004 with poll counting on 06th January 2004. The twelve committees
include Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Yaval, Raver, Jamner, Pachora, Chalisgaon, Dharangaon,
Amalner, Parola, Chopda, and Bodwad. The election candidature forms filling
process from 20th November until 06th December while 17th December 2003 remains
last date for withdrawal.
The Committees headed by Business tycoons forms a significant base for winning
business community's confidence and is a first step towards entry in active
politics.
Burglary in Jalgaon:
A group of offenders entered into a locked house stealing Gold, Silver jewellery
and cash worth Rs. 1.48 Lacs in Sambhaji Nagar area in Mahabal.
In another incidence, a few days before another group of delinquents broke down
a house in city's business heart Navi Peth area and stolen assets worth Rs.
2 Lacs.
The Jilha Peth Police Station and City Police Station are investigating the
robbery further.

The Bharti group enterprise Airtel has begun its Chalisgaon Cellular network.
Airtel, being fourth cellular operator after BPL, Idea, and BSNL has fascinating

19th November:
Workshop on Journalism:
The North Maharashtra University Jalgaon is
organising a workshop on Journalism on 21st and 22nd November 2003 in association
with a Nashik based Consultant Company.
The workshop will focus on various issues relating to Journalism including lectures
by experts in the field concluded by Open forum for discussing FAQ. Please contact

The District Civil Hospital authorities have built up a Special cell to
take care of dengue affected patients and treatments. The Four-bed section comprises
of various facilities and infrastructure required to take care of the disease
control.

Atale has secured Second Rank in entire Maharashtra in Sanskrit (Part II) Examination
conducted by Tilak Maharashtra University.
17th November:
Bahula Dam in safe condition says Authorities:
The District Authorities charge of the Bahula
dam project have stated that the Bahula Dam is in safer condition and have made
adequate arrangement for proper outward channelling of water flowing in its
base. There is no danger to any of the farm nearby quotes the authorities.
Police catches Motorbike Lifting crooks:
The Jalgaon Police has arrested a Parola Taluka's youth for lifting away
five bikes of different models. The Court has sent the offender for PC until
20th November 2003.
The continuously increasing two-wheeler theft cases that too with deep involvement
of youth below 25 raises a serious question of unemployment and vindicates Administration's
failure in providing employment to youth.
Unemployed Youth meet:
The DIC Office Jalgaon has called for all Unemployed youth meet on 18th
and 19th November 2003 for announcing Central Government run Prime-minister
Rojgar Yojna (PMRY) for self-employment. The meet to be held at every major
taluka and small village place will discuss various aspects and formal requirements
for getting benefits of the Central scheme.
A Youth can get maximum of Rs. 1 Lac in Loan under this scheme with a final
net subsidy of Rs. 7500 on the final repayment instalment.
16th November:
Emergency alert at Bahula Dam:
The Bahula dam located on Jalgaon - Pachora
route is on verge of cracking following continuous water flow in the base of
the dam. The Administration has sounded alert in the region considering the
possibility of dam collapse. The dam supplies drinking water to almost 20 nearby
villages and places and if get cracked will afflict farms in the region.
The Bahula dam with capacity of storing 16.330MLT water is currently having
98% store of water by means of good monsoon in the region.
JCMC administration to seek State's view over
Octroi Tax implementation:
The JCMC administration is seeking State's View over Octroi Tax implementation
in Jalgaon city. Earlier the State CM announced temporary suspension of Octroi
Tax following meeting with District's business community.
Jalgaon Football team ranks third:
Jalgaon team stood third in the State 'Seven a Side Football Competition'
recently conducted at Dombivali. Jalgaon team defeated Ratnagiri team by 2-0
in the final league match. Jalgaon team's Sachin Gavai scored 8 goal in the
tournament bagging 'Player of the Tournament' award.
15th November:
Children Day 2003:
The entire Jalgaon district witnessed active
participation of children on the eve of Children Day celebrated on Birth Anniversary
of beloved Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. Most of the schools marked the day by spreading
educational awareness, conducting various competitions, distributing free books
to needy students.
Jalgaon City's Nehru Chowk (Point) perceived lightening on the eve making the

The JCMC is marking the week as 'Children Week' and is offering free Birth Certificates

14th November:
DM is new JCMC In-charge:
Following JCMC Administrator on leave, the
District Magistrate is JCMC's new In-charge chief. Since JCMC formation, the
DM has become fourth person performing duty as "JCMC Administrator"
and the post strongly deserves a stable, active, and permanent Administrator
to fix the foundation of JCMC.
13th November:
Police seizes Gutka worth Rs. 5.5 Lacs:
The LCB Police has seized Gukta worth Rs. 570,320.00
taken from MP towards Karnataka for illegal sales on Mumbai Agra National Highway
near Nardana turning. The Dhule Police is investigating further in the case.
12th November:
Need for electoral reforms:
India, our proud motherland is witnessing a
repulsive phenomenon known as 'Vote Bank Policy'. Every political party has
the sole intention of fixing up its vote bank rather focussing on Nation's development.
In today's arena, we the Indian are world's #1 work force resource with intelligence,
creativity, and cost effectiveness. If we stabilise our national situation we
could earn a lot on international front and become world superpower.
What we need is strong reforms on political front. The Election Commission has
a lot to do with. If we filter the entrance of candidates at entry point in
elections, we could see amazing results. The commission can impose up certain
restrictions in Parliament elections by fixing minimum required candidates criteria,
state-level requirement criteria while permitting formation of parties and election
nominations. In today's circumstances, the independent candidates are becoming
more important than that of largest winning party's number of candidates. The
Independent candidature nomination should have revised set of rules that will
help up cleaning the rule.
Not to end, the reforms will be harder to grasp for political parties but are
today's necessity to lead towards becoming world leading light.
Dengue virus cases revelled in Jalgaon District:
The dangerous fever virus 'Dengue' has entered Jalgaon District with eight
suspected victims under test. Two patients tested positive for having Dengue
infection and are under treatment.
The sudden Low BP, Headache, Backache, fever, bleeding in nose and mouth are
some of common symptoms of Dengue. Please consult your family Doctor in case
you find any of above symptoms.
District Children Science Convention:
The NCSTC, Delhi is organising Jalgaon District Children Science Convention
on 15th November at Bhagirath English School campus. The students willing to
participate in the event shall contact at school on or before 15th November,
10am.
Pratap College Amalner wins Inter-College Cricket
competition:
The Pratap College Amalner team has won the Inter-College cricket competition
2003 by defeating COET Bambhori team by six wickets and nine over. The COET
team scored 149 in 30 over and the Pratap College team scored 150 in just 21
over.
11th November:

City's oldest College Nutan Maratha College
has urged all its Alumni and current students for a meeting on 23rd November
in Seminar hall.
10th November:
Fiend lion attacks two in Pal:
The lion turned man-eater attacked two more
in Pal forestry region of Raver taluka. The incidence took place on 9th November
sunset time when an aged woman was taking away her two granddaughters from one
hut to another in Pimparkund Pada of Garkhed village in Raver taluka.
The lion attacked her six years old granddaughter from behind the hut and the
aged women fought bravely to escape her granddaughter. Both women and six years
old girl have severe injuries in the incidence. Earlier the same lion killed
two in the region spreading panic among the tribes and villagers surrounding
the region.
High-speed truck kills two on National Highway:
An unidentified swift truck crushed two persons on scooter returning from
Bambhori to Jalgaon. The incidence took place on 08th November night around
10.30pm. The uncontrolled truck collided
Both died in the accident are from Rajasthan employed in MIDC industries. The
Taluka Police station is investigating further in the issue.
09th November:
Fire breaks out in Dharangaon Ginning factory:
The fire broke out at Shreeji Ginning factory
Dharangaon causing damages worth more than 40 Lacs. The factory had stocking
of almost 3000 Quintal Kilogram of Cotton. The fire reasons are still unknown
and Police is further investigating the case.
08th November:
| Ahinsa Yatra in Jalgaon: The Jain Terapanth Community paramount His Excellency Acharya Shri Mahapragya is arriving in Jalgaon on 09th January 2004 with theme of "Ahinsa" (Non-Violence). Various events focusing Prekha Dhyan (Meditation), Jeevan Vigyan (The Art of living life) are being organised in the region. Power disrupts routine life:
The State run MSEB power supply disrupted many times on Friday severely
affecting routine life in the District. According to MSEB sources, the power
failure caused mainly due to failure in power generation unit at Deep Nagar.
The entire district witnessed blackout for more than 6 hours during the daytime.
Since last one month or so the power situation in the region is again destabilising
reminding people of UP and Bihar.
JCMC Education council elections today:
The JCMC is conducting Education Council elections for 10 posts today. There
are in all 22 candidates for 10 posts. JCMC Standing committee elections followed
by education council election marks the horse run again.
07th November:
Business community presents protest for Octroi to State FM:
The Jalgaon business community has presented
its Urge for not implementing Octroi in the Jalgaon City. The community earlier
met State CM requesting for not implementing the Octroi Tax in city.
The JCMC has also stopped its Octroi Tender rewarding process following State's
order for creating effective environment before implementing the tax.
06th November:
Blackout in entire Jalgaon District:
The entire Jalgaon district witnessed power
disruption on Wednesday morning following failure in power generation centre
at Deep Nagar and various other power supply centres around Maharashtra. There
was no power for more than four hours in urban areas while for more than six
to eights of power cut in rural areas.
The power cut affected Railways traffic causing delay in almost every train
by one to two hours and paralysed routine business as well. The potential farm
growing rural areas of Yaval and Raver are witnessing blackouts for many hours
a day since last month following Power transformers in burnt or under repair
status causing losses to standing crop.
Stampede at Soldier Interviews: Twelve injured:
The all of sudden begun stampede in Soldier interviews camp at Police Ground
caused injuries to twelve aspirants. The incidence took place around morning
3am on Wednesday when the officials begun their interview process.
DM implies Section 37(1) and 37(3) in Jalgaon
District:
The District Magistrate has implied Section 37(1) and section 37(3) of Bombay
Police Act 1951 in entire Jalgaon District from 05th November 2003 until 19th
November 2003 to maintain Law and Order Situation in the District.
Shop Act renewal:
All shops, Business establishments, Hotels, Restaurants, Lodge, Hospitals,
Government, Private Banks, Societies, and Theatres in Jalgaon city limits, Bhusaval,
Amalner, Chopda, Chalisgaon, Pachora, Yaval, Parola, Savda city limits are urged
to renew their Shop Act Licenses on or before 16th December 2003.
05th November:
City turns deity place on the eve of Kartik Ekadashi:
The whole of Jalgaon district turned divine
place on the eve of Kartik Ekadashi Rath festivity on Tuesday. The Rath festivity
event took place with thrill and excitement in the community. The Traditional
Tulsi Plant Marriage ceremony marked the day followed by crackers to celebrate
the event.
Soldier interviews today:
The State Police is conducting its interviews for the post of Soldiers from
Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar, and Raigad Districts in Jalgaon
from 05th November until 14th November 2003. Around 20,000 to 25,000 expected
youths will attend the interview for the lucrative post of Soldier General Duty,
Clerical, Technical, and Nursing Assistants. Top-notch Army officers have arrived
in Jalgaon for the same.
The arrival of such enormous number of youths has caused houseful at almost
all lodges, and public places. Roads are full of youth carrying their handbags
and talking to each other in groups.
04th November:
Ogre Lion kills two children in Pal:
The State Forest Conservation department in
last week sent 13 lions back in to Pal Forestry region. Out of these 13, one
of the lion turned man-eater attacked two of the villagers in Sulabardi village
in Pal region. The attack has created panic amongst villagers and they have
demanded immediate remedies from district administration.
The District administration has started its intense search operations and therefore
all tourists visiting the Pal region shall leave the forestry region before
sunset and use four-wheelers only for their voyage.
Rath festivity today:
The entire Jalgaon district will witness centennial Lord Ram Rath Festivity
today with Rath taken throughout the old Jalgaon city areas. The Rath festivity
is Jalgaon's oldest tradition at Lord Ram temple located in older Jalgaon city.

02nd November:
Dengue alert:
The Dengue mosquitoes that transmit the virus
breed in standing water causing mosquito-borne viral disease such as dengue
hemorrhagic fever is being reported throughout the State. The white-stripped
mosquito widely found in standing water initiates in human body through skin
and then causing severe headache, secondary skin infections. The JCMC has begun
wide operations to tackle the virus and has begun use of fogging machines all
around city.

Cotton farmer looted for Rs. 2.90 Lacs:
Two crooks looted MuktaiNagar region cotton farmers' when their matador
was returning after selling Cotton crop in Burhanpur. The offenders used chilli
powder to deflect driver, assistant's attention, and took away Rs. 2.90 Lacs
in cash in between Icchapur to Karki in MuktaiNagar region on 31st October at
around 10pm. The MuktaiNagar Police station is investigating the matter further.
In another two incidence in Jalgaon city, criminals plundered amount worth Rs.
37,000 in a Auto Spare part shop and secondly at a flat.
Railways starts use of Electric engine in Surat
route on passenger trains:
The Western railways have begun use of Electrical engines on Jalgaon - Surat
route on all passenger and express trains. Until now, it used electrical engines
only for goods trains even after inaugurating Electrification process.
Use of electrical engines on the route will save around 30 minutes to one hour
in Surat journey and will also minimise pollution due to use of diesel in engines.
State Level Drama Festival in Jalgaon:
The State Cultural activities department is organising State-level Drama
competition from 04th November 2003 until 15th November at Bal Gandharva Open
Theatre Jalgaon. In all 12 teams from State are participating in the event.
01st November:
JCMC defers Octroi implementation:
With growing business community pressure, the
State Government has postponed implementation of Octroi from 01st November 2003.
The decision came in after Business community leaders from Jalgaon meeting State
CM to discuss their stand on Octroi tax issue.
Court orders bail for Cyber café owners:
The District Court has ordered bail for all eight cyber café owners
and managers on Friday. The Police arrested these café owners and managers
on charges of showing pornography in their cyber service centres.
Secunderabad - Bikaner Trains started:
The Railways has started the much-awaited Secunderabad - Bikaner train with
effect from 28th October 2003. The Once a week UP/ once a week Down train will
pass through Jalgaon and benefit hundreds of natives from Bikaner and Shri Dungargarh
living in Jalgaon. The 7037 Down (every Wednesday at Jalgaon) Secunderabad -
Bikaner expresses passes through Jalgaon on 14.45pm while 7038 Bikaner - Secunderabad
(every Saturday at Jalgaon) Express reach Jalgaon on 18.15pm.
The Train will not only reduce Rajasthan Travel time but also facilitate regular
passengers towards Jodhpur, Ahemdabad, Surat, and Nandurbar. The Railways started
the train on trial basis in Holidays session and continued it seeing potential
traffic area.
