Bird Flu: Navapur to Jalgaon:
15th February: Many backyard poultry and farm poultry birds reported died with Navapur being reported Bird Flu affected.
18th Feb: Dharangaon Taluka's Pimpri, Bhod Khurd, Yaval Taluka's Nhavi, Marul, Chopda Taluka's Adavad, Hated, Sonvad, Salve, Jalgaon, Chopda, Savda, Mhasavad poultry birds and various other birds reported died.
20th February: Nhavi, Taluka: Yaval Animal Husbandry Authorities Vaccinates poultry birds
20th February: Yaval Chicken Market closed
21st February: Dhanora, Taluka: Chopda's 144 birds died
28th February: Marul, Taluka: Chopda bird deaths continue, figure mounts to 1500 by month end
01st March: Dhanora, Adavad (Taluka: Chopda) reports received, no bird Flu reported, deaths on natural accounts
01st March: Animal Husbandry team visits Marul, Taluka: Yaval. Takes samples of died and sends to Bhopal Laboratory.

Bird Flu Culling Drive ends in District:
The Jalgaon District Administration conducted fourth round of Bird flu culling has ended. The total culling count by end of fourth round is 612,000 chickens and a net compensation of Rs. 1.58 Crores has been paid to owners. The District Administration received first report on Positive Bird flu on 14th February infecting 172 villages' 93,637 chickens followed by 240,200 chickens in second round, 247,400 chickens in third round and finally 31,642 chickens in fourth round. The fourth round had Vichkheda (Yaval), Janve (Amalner), and Jalgaon city and compensation worth Rs. 820,690.
The Authorities have sent 959 samples of died poultry and backyard animals and has co-ordinated with State Animal Husbandry Authority. The District had arrival of medical terms from almost all Districts in State.

J) Day 2 (17-03-06):
1) Chicken culling count touches 75,083 on day 2. Total compensation of Rs. 20 Lakhs allocated.
2) Around 100,000 humans samples examined in 10kms area of affected zone
3) Takli Taluka: Jamner's Lady working in Poultry care and Dharangaon's 1.5 years girl reported having influenza. Both taken in Intensive care, authorities yet to detail on Influenza test reports.
4) Announcing continuing of drive for 2 more days

Special Cautions for Citizens:
1) Do not touch infected or died birds
2) Do not bring chicken, body parts, bones of these infected/ died birds.
3) Avoid contact of these birds and keep children out of reach of them.
4) Wash your hands with Soap/ disinfecting solution everytime you come in contact with these birds.
5) Use Mask and hand coverings while going near to birds and avoid eyes touching in that area.
6) Avoid eating Chicken, eggs during this period
7) Do not pass by/ go in the affected area and stop selling/ trading this kind of birds
8) Do not use eggs of these infected birds
9) Immediately report District Animal Husbandry Authority of sudden deaths of such birds and make proper burial to avoid further spread.
10) If Flu like symptoms found or felt, immediately consult your Doctor/ District Health Authorities and report your contact with birds if any.
11) Work with minimum manpower in Poultry Farms. Do not use Chhapals, Clothes used there in outside premise.
12) Do not bring poultry birds from any other poultry farms nearby.
13) Do not allow contact of other birds with poultry birds
14) Keep poultry birds shed clean and disinfect it regularly with solutions
15) Give Chlorinated water to backyard poultry and farm poultry birds for drinking. Use Chlorination for at least 2-3 hours before giving water to these birds. R
