DTE initiates MBA/ MMS entrance exam CET-2012 process:
Maharashtra State directorate of technical education has initiated process for Maharashtra MBA/ MMS/ CET 2012. The CET application forms online submission begins from 01st February and has online payment acceptance as well for submission. The MAH CET 2012 is on 11th March from 2pm onwards and would follow result on 16th April. This follows registration for group discussions and personal interviews from 19th until 30th April and actual conducting of GD and PI from 10th May until 31st May and document verification, updation and confirmation of received forms during same time. Provisional merit list would be announced on 16th June and final merit list goes live on 25th June 2012 at 5pm after hearing grievances, if any.
National softball competition begins today:
All Indian confederation of softball and youth services directorate Pune in association with district sports council and sports authority are organising national level inter-school softball competition in Jalgaon. The competition begins today at District sports complex and has under-14, 17 boys and girls competitions. Maharashtra has received honour of organising such even for first time in this competition’s initiation since last 56 years. Under-17 competition is being played today wherein under-14 boys and girls competition is from 03rd February. Competition has received participation of 24 State based 48 teams with 16 members each team and 72 trainers totalling to total 768 players.

National highways authority approves transfers of highways parallel road to Corporation:
Jalgaon city’s 15 years prolonged issue of reducing highway accidents by using parallel service roads has finally got a hearing. Central government and National Highway authority in its response to proposal sent by Jalgaon district administration has shown readiness for availing use of these roads to Corporation for developing parallel roads to facilitate city traffic with NHAI remaining owner.
Horticulture train speeds up banana shipment:
National horticulture mission based horticulture train flagged on Sunday reached Delhi within 24hours and has shipped fresh quality of banana from Jalgaon district. However risen cold in Delhi region led to delays and lower demands dipping down banana rates by Rs. 200 to 300 per quintal. The air-circulated wagons helped region banana producers to ship untouched quality of banana to northern India and is likely to boost overall sales of region especially amidst peak summer time.
Jalgaon defeats Nandurbar in inter-district cricket competition:
Jalgaon boys have defeated Nandurbar team by first inning lead of 16 runs in MCA conducted open category State level inter-district cricket competition played at Dhule. Jalgaon has now scored total 18 points with this victory and this is fourth consecutive win for team.
Jalgaon boys scored 207 runs in 74.1 overs with Captain Shashank Attarde scoring 89. It bowled out Nandurbar on 231 runs with Sachin Chaudhari’s dominating bowling taking 5 wickets. Jalgaon scored 242/3 in 36 overs in second inning with Varun Deshpande’s 124 valued runs contribution.

ZP nomination filling evokes flooding response:
Jalgaon district council and Panchayat elections nomination filling process yesterday witnessed flooding response for nomination filling as process ends today. Administration until date has received 988 forms for 68 blocks of ZP and 1,592 candidates for 136 units of Panchayat. 30th January is last date of withdrawal of the forms and exact picture would be clear thereafter.

Retailing sector boosts in Jalgaon:
Jalgaon has 4 decades of fame for being competitive and trade driven fraternity and has wholesale and retails as key trade businesses. Earlier in 1980, Jalgaon had Sansar Vastu Bhandar, Gruhjeevan, Ramesh Kirana and Anil provisions had only a few retail stores. It later manifold in form of Suresh, Navjeevan, Vasant as super shops offering broader range and attractive wholesale pricing during 1990 to 2000 span. This followed struggling period of around 4-5 years with depression visible in the retail sector marking lower sales.

Medical council of India and its State counterpart has mandatory renewal of registration certificate every 5-years for all government, private MBBS allopathic doctors practising in country. This renewal has need of scoring 12 points in 2years span towards enhancement in medical professional learning. NDDB begins survey for decreasing milk collection in district:
Jaipur based organisation in association with NDDB has begun survey of 5 Tahsil in Jalgaon district for sharp declining milk collection figures. Jalgaon milk union had 1.45Lakh litres per day milk collection in 2008-09, this reduced to 1.38 Lakh litres per day in 2009-10and was at 1.34 Lakh litres in year 2010-11.
This survey is in Bodwad, Amalner, Chalisgaon, Raver and Chopda Taluka and would review animal husbandry state with milk producers and suggest various programmes to district milk union for enhancements.

Satpuda sugar factory on top in sugarcane processing:
Khandesh region’s this season sugarcane processing has Shahada based Satpuda co-operative sugar factory still topping the chart. Factory until now has processed 164,230 tonnes of sugarcane and has produced 162,275 quintals sugar from it. Factory has 6,610 hectares area under cultivation and has received 2,405 hectares based crop until now.
Jalgaon district based Madhukar Faizpur is on second rank with 152,320 tonnes of sugarcane processing and 147,550 quintals sugar produced in 63 days with net yield of 9.82. This follows Chopda factory on third position with 82,095 tonnes processing and 71,150 quintals sugar giving 9.01 points yield. Navapur factory is on bottom with 65,401 tones processing and 62,700 quintals produces of sugar.

Jalgaon city municipal corporation in its plan has announced private party operations based functioning of its owned civic facilities based parks. It has received 9 quotes for long term lease based operations of Shivaji park and Mahatma Gandhi park. Offerings include Rs. 27Lakhs monthly rental for 45 acres based Shivaji Park in Mehrun, 25 Lakhs for Mahatma Gandhi garden.
Tender offering has minimum 5-10acres garden development along with playing equipments for kids at free of cost for all as mandatory need and may have water ride, laser show, food stall, wooden huts on trees as additional paid amenities in offering. It has approved availing Mehrun lake water recycling for use in water ride and has kept open door for allowing tenderer to rent this for public functions. Corporation plans to have PPP pattern of execution with income sharing pattern applied for Mahatma Gandhi garden.
Jalgaon ZP election process begins today:
Jalgaon district council (ZP) and Pachayat committee nomination process is beginning today with nomination filling process. There are 68 ZP blocks and 136 Panchayat committee areas undergoing voting on 07th February. Nomination filling is at respective Tahsil level. Nomination process ends on 23rd January and follows scrutiny and publishing final list of valid candidates on 24th January, 30th January as last date of withdrawal of forms. It would publish final list of polling booths and candidates on 01st February and voting is on 07th February from 7.30am until 5.30pm, votes counting on next day and gazette publication on 16th February. There are around 20Lakh voters to exercise their right in this election.

Rare species of birds found in Waghur dam region:
Forestry animals protection and conservation organisation bio research team having bird friends and snake friends along organised a workshop yesterday on spreading awareness on rare species at Waghur dam. This organisation’s member found 3 pairs of short toned snake eagle bird having included in red data book as rare and ending species of birds.
Earlier same species was noticed in Jalgaon in 1992 in Mehrun lake region. Team also found 6 long tailed cormorants in the dam area along with 3 oriental darter (Anhinga melanogaster) also known as snake bird in the backwater area.
Jalgaon district roads infrastructure to rise 3,000kms till year 2021:
Jalgaon district public works department in its Vision-2021 document has estimated net rise of 3,101 kms roads length in district. This vision document has been sent to State department for final approval. Jalgaon district is all set to have four lane highways and completion of this project might take around 3-4 years span.
Estimate includes 140.1kms national highway, 105kms state highway, 1,629.725kms State roads, 2,648.565kms major district roads, 1,949.550kms other district roads and 6,386.500kms based rural roads. The comparison basis has been year 1981 to 2001 versus 2001 to 2021 and has significant emphasis on rural roads connectivity as major growth area.
District administration to publish final electoral roll for ZP elections today:
Jalgaon district administration has geared up its district council election preparations and has announced publishing final electoral roll for this elections today. State level meeting on imposing cess on VAT tax for Octroi and LBT:
Maharashtra State Government committee formed to review replacement levy for Octroi and LBT tax is meeting today to finalise its proposal for suggesting replacement tax. The 5-members committee is likely to put its earlier outcome of levying cess on vat tax as complete removal replacement for Octroi and LBT tax. Traders’ confederation and associations have registered strong protest to this substitute and have marked it as another levy paralysing trading in Maharashtra. Corporation to earn 110 Crores from long term lease of shops:
Jalgaon city municipal Corporation body has approved long term leasing of its 8 owned shopping complexes having 1,575 shops on 100% premium basis. This decision would avail it upfront revenue of 110 Crores to make onetime settlement of HUDCO due loan of around 90 Crores since year 2004. The proposed long-term lease will be of 99 years and has monthly rentals from shop owners towards maintenance and security.
It includes 679 shops in Central Fule market, 310 in Old B. J. Market, 256 in Mahatma Fule Market, 175 in Mahatma Gandhi Market, 63 in Ambedkar Market, 40 in Chaube Market, 28 in Thakre market and 24 in Bhoite Market.
First horticulture train from 20th January:
District banana producers union yesterday met to finalise its stand on inauguration of country’s first air circulated horticulture train for transporting banana from region. Union decided to give green signal to train on 20th for first journey to Delhi rather letting it wait further for ministerial inauguration following on-going election code of conduct for ZP election. This train has 90 containers and is first of its kindly throughout the Country initiated specially for banana.

Jalgaon ZP to celebrate golden jubilee in next year:
Established in year 1962, Jalgaon district council has been key witness of revolutions and history in Jalgaon and would celebrate its golden jubilee in next year. In its 49 years of journey, council has witnessed 19 deputy heads working in align with ZP presidents. Council’s 49 years also mark 11 years of ruling opportunity to minority community and is still to open its doors to women candidates.
Jalgaon ZP was established on 15th August 1962 and enacts as major point of communication and as nodal agency to avail central and state government benefits until Panchayat levels.
Jalgaon authors marks significant contribution in State board Geography book:
Pachora based Bhaidas Somwanshi and Jitendra Gavande have availed significant contribution in forming Geography text book for class III students of State board curriculum. Book first edition is published in August-2008 and has around 35 photographs from both of them. This includes Jitendra’s 20 and Bhaidas’s 15 photographs covering broader perspective of district in geographical reference. State board has district specific publishing of geography subject textbook for Class-3. Bhaidas, a ZP School Teacher was also in education board of curriculum formation for the reference.
MCA invited open cricket competition – Jalgaon defeats Solapur:
Jalgaon boys have marked dominating play winning its match against Solapur team in ongoing MCA conducted open category cricket competition at Aurangabad. Jalgaon scored 372 runs in first inning with awesome 120 by Amit Patil, 95 from Devvrat Raval and in response bowled out Solapur on 171 runs. This had Dhaval Hemnani taking 5 wickets, Sachin Chaudhari bowling out 2 and Sachin Chaudhari along with Shashank Attarde taking one wicket each.
Solapur moving in follow-on had 201 runs trail and was able to score on 168/8 until day end. Jalgaon team was announced winner on basis of first inning lead. Jalgaon has scored 3 points in competition until now and would now play I.C.C. Club Pune in third match beginning today.

Traders appeal against Corporation escorts fee collection:
Jalgaon district traders confederation has appealed State urban development ministry marking Corporation’s on-going escorts fee collection as illegal and has requested immediate refund of this huge sum in confederation’s bank accounts. Appeal has made Corporation and private party as two parties and has marked that BMC Act 1949 does not have provisioning of escorts fees or tax and the newly introduced local body tax Law also does not have this provision. Corporation is yet to respond on this.
Sakal trophy one-play drama competition begins from Friday:
Sakal group of media organised third Sakal trophy State level one-play drama competition is beginning in Jalgaon from Friday, 13th January. The 3-days competition has received 18 teams entry of various colleges. Performance rounds would begin from first day and final round is from 27th January in Pune. Traders reunites to tussle on Octroi and LBT replacement tax:
Maharashtra State’s all 16 D-category municipal Corporation traders having participation of confederation of all India traders and merchant union has announced unanimously not to let State government put any further replacement levy to Octroi and LBT tax. This decision came amidst its meeting on Sunday having broad discussion on strategy ahead. State earlier announced posting 10% cess on VAT as new substitute for Octroi and LBT tax post GST tax implementation. Traders have shown strong opposition to State’s this foray marking it to be just another way of digging traders’ competitiveness to that of rest of State
Maharashtra traders have already lost their ranking in competitiveness following complicating taxation policies and rising tax burden. State has formed 8-members committee for reviewing this perspective along with 16 standing committee members.

Rotary district 3030 conducted two-days Roto Sports 2012 competition ended yesterday with Nagpur player Manish Bhati winning along with Prashant Mehta Hinganghat getting runner up award in table tennis men’s single. Competition had participation of 175 members of 82 rotary clubs in district 3030.

MIDC announces Jalgaon MIDC land distribution on seniority basis:
Maharashtra State Industrial development Corporation yesterday in its meeting at Mumbai has announced issuing allotment of available MIDC plots on seniority basis of application filling. This announcement has come amidst large amount of discrepancies reported by Jalgaon entrepreneurs during last meeting announcement. MIDC also announced change of water supplies line currently availing water to MIDC and using Shelgaon barrage. Dhule to Nagpur highway four-lane work would lead to removal of industrial area water supplies line and this has given need of immediate water supplies and putting up new lines.
MIDC amidst significant announcements has announced increasing MIDC land allotment rate from Rs. 500 per square meter to Rs. 630 per square meter for industrial land and to Rs. 1,300 per square meter from Rs. 1,100 for commercial land. New rates are effective from 05th January 2012.
The Co-operative Bank of Rajkot limited merges with Yawal people’s co-operative bank:
Gujarat state’s growing co-operative bank The Co-operative Bank of Rajkot Limited has received go ahead nod for merger with Jalgaon district based Yawal Peoples Co-operative Bank Limited Yawal with effect from 09th January 2012. RBI in its NOC dated 18th July 2011 along with State Registrar of co-operative societies has approved this merger. The Rajkot Bank is zero net NPA bank since 1990 and it has announced upgrading all existing customers to its network with completion of formalities. This is first instance that Gujarat State’s bank has shown interest and moved ahead in Maharashtra that too Jalgaon district’s small co-operative bank and has ambitious plans to spread in region.

Central Railways Bhusawal division approves Railways overhead bridge in Jalgaon:
After a span of 15 prolonged years, central railways Bhusawal division has given go ahead to construction of railways overhead bridge in Shivaji Nagar and Pimprala crossings. This approval is moved to central ministry for budgetary allocation and is likely to get allocation in this budget. Pimprala railways crossing remain a key barrier in city’s traffic with its closing almost hundred times throughout the day thereby badly disrupting routine traffic.
Proposal includes setting up new bridge at Pimprala crossing and Jalgaon milk union neighbouring Amalner railways crossing.

Central Government has announced making hallmarking in gold jewellery as mandatory need. This hallmarking has purity and quality as parameters of evaluation and is aimed to assist buyers in quickly understanding the product. Jalgaon jewellery market is India fame for its rich gold collection and variety and this decision has received warm welcome here. Currently none of Jalgaon jewellers has this hallmarking applied under bureau of Indian standards.

Corporation’s business logic on easing its loan burden:
Jalgaon city municipal corporation burdened with HUDCO, JDCC Bank Loans has lifted itself to ease this load by applying some trader alike logics. Corporation has Fule Market and Central Markets lease agreements expiring this year and this aspect has come to it alike a lottery. Administration has worked on renewal of lease on revised rates having commercial real estate trade like smartness and plan. It has proposed either 100% at once payment or 50-50% based two instalments and differed monthly rentals in the case.
Corporation has announced lease royalty charge of Rs. 74,000 per square meter for ground, Rs. 60,000 for lower, 70,000 for first floor and Rs. 67,000 per sq. meter for second floors in Central Fule market wherein a flat rate of Rs. 60,000 per square meter has been proposed for earlier Fule market. Monthly rentals would be Rs. 300, 250, 250, 200 respectively for ground, lower, first and second floors in central Fule market and Rs. 300 per month for Fule market for those paying in 100% mode.
Corporation has witnessed protest response from existing shop lease owners for its earlier proposed selling of shops and has devised this new means of renewing its lease agreement and monthly charges. Old B. J. Market is in row on lease renewal.
State Election Commission announces ZP election schedule:
Councils election fever has just fade and political lobby is now all set to gear for the next set of elections. State Election Commission yesterday announced schedule for various district councils in Maharashtra. This includes Jalgaon ZP to undergo election with immediate election code of conduct in effect.
Election schedule would be published on 18th January followed by nomination until 23rd January, scrutiny on 24th January and 30th January as last date of withdrawal. Voting is on 07th February from 7.30am to 5.30pm followed by counting on next day from 10am onwards. The last municipal Councils election has witnessed changes in political alliances and equations and this ZP election would have broader effect of such equations. The banana producing zone comprising of Chopda, Yaval and Raver Taluka would have significant hold on the ZP majority ruling decision.
ZP currently has BJP and Shivsena alliance ruling with BJP -26, Shivsena – 15, NCP – 15, Congress-I – 9 and Independents – 2 totalling to 68 seats including one vacant seat.

Jamner city facing acute drinking water shortage has a reason to smile with its water woes getting over with connection of Waghur dam supplies. Jamner has been in water troubles since year 2006-07. Council had 4.50 Crores cost based water supplies from Waghur project completing yesterday. This project would now avail drinking water supplies to Jamner city every third day. Maharashtra State Cabinet yesterday gave in principal approval for setting up of Government medical College at Nandurbar with initial intake of 100 seats to be increased in phased manner beginning from academic year 2012-13. District body builders association and Panchamukhi Hanuman Mandal organised Shree 2011 body building competition ended yesterday with Bhusawal based Sajid Kureshi winning the title.
