Railways introduced life to Jalgaon reveals Central Railways Centenary celebrations:
Central Railways Bhusawal station saw first train arrival on 01st October 1861 and this ferry of serving Indian has completed 150 years of its excellence on 01st October 2011. Jalgaon district railway lines laying work was awarded to Great Indian Peninsula Company and until that time Bhusawal was known as ‘Bhuskheda’ and was in existence. British Ruling that time had policy to lay railway lines in existing colonial areas only and this led to foundation of Bhusawal as pioneer station in district. Jalgaon came in existence with starting up of railway station only. Today’s old Jalgaon area was termed as Jalgaon city wherein Jalgaon Khurd near Nashirabad was supposed to be smaller or railways based station.
History unveils an interesting episode of foundation lying of Jalgaon railway station. In year 1863, America witnessed war and this led to troubles to cotton factories there causing shortages. British rulers taking advantage of this decided to base their cotton ginning and processing units in India. They found Jalgaon as one of most suitable climate zone for cotton and setup first ever cotton ginning mill here. This groomed Jalgaon as city and saw good branding as major clothes market.
Today there is no British Ruler, the first setup cotton ginning is also not there but Railways remains the golden witness of history and rising shine as a trade fraternity, a major cotton producer and struggling to overcome all its woes to unfold new era of growth written on calibre of its own entrepreneurs with lowest diplomacy support.

This would not only pack up the area but would burst down the business zone in city’s heart. Traders have urged Corporation to first discuss with traders, plan and avail space in its owned market rather open roads messing up traffic.
