District traders confederation to participate in nationwide strike on 01st December:
Jalgaon district traders’ confederation has announced its 100% participation in its national counterpart organisations called nation-wide strike on Thursday, 01st December to protest Government’s decision to open up retail sector for foreign direct investments from 01st December. Confederation members met yesterday to review various implications of this aspect and it has urged all its member organisations to participate in this protest strike.
Municipal councils election – parties open account with unopposed candidature:
Jalgaon district’s 12 municipal councils undergoing election yesterday witnessed last day of withdrawal of nominations leaving behind 1,343 candidates for 283 posts. 12 posts have turned with unopposed candidature. Regional alliance Khandesh Vikas Aghadhi has secured 9 seats (almost half of Erandol council seats) as per finalised nominations listing and is strongly moving towards majority. Indian national Congress two candidates from Raver and Chalisgaon’s one from NCP have also received unopposed entries to fray. Region’s council elections centre point Bhusawal now has 436 candidates for 47 seats.
JDCC Bank tussle to keep its banking license:
Jalgaon district’s apex co-operative bank JDCC Bank has received target of 40 Crores loan outstanding collection in current financial year to save itself from RBI’s likely banking license cancellation. Bank has been under section 11(1) of NABARD banking rules marking it in most unhealthy state since year 1998. Bank administration tussle this challenge and has launched mega loan outstanding collections drive since last few years. As a result, NABARD latest communication to bank has marked it’s a safer bank and having consistently reducing NPA ratio.

Khandesh region produces 62,150 sugar bags until now:
Khandesh region’s all 4 functional sugar factories inaugurated their boiler on and near Dasra festivity and have until now produced 62,150 bags of sugar by processing 87,478 quintals of sugarcane in last 17 days of functionality. This list includes Shahada based Satpuda co-operative sugar factory on top with 30,750 bags of sugar in 17 days, 16,675 bags of sugar by Madhukar Faizpur in 12 days, 9,625 bags of sugar by Chopda factory and 5,100 bags of sugar by Navapur factory.
BJP mega road blocks jams traffic in region:
BJP’s yesterday conducted mega road block demanding Rs. 6,000 per quintal rate for cotton crop caused major blocks in highway traffics all around region. Jalgaon – Aurangabad, Jalgaon – Dhule and Jalgaon – Bhusawal Highways remained largely loaded with heavy motor vehicles awaiting exit and further move following blocks. Khandesh Tiger Conservation gets Centre’s in-principal approval:
Khandesh Nature Conservation organisation along with its Mumbai Tiger conservation and research organisation met Central forestry and ecology ministry to present its various aspects related to Khandesh forestry. The ministry has shown in principal approval final notification of Yawal forestry and declaring Manudevi as Manudevi birds’ zone.
It also posted demands for clubbing up Yaval forestry and Aner dam forestry centuary, approving Project Tiger Khandesh and Sahyadri to rejuvenate greenery in Satpuda hills.

‘जाणता राजा’ mega play inauguration today in Jalgaon:
Babasaheb Purandare wrote and directed mega play ‘जाणता राजा’ is beginning from today at G. S. ground Jalgaon. Play would have daily one show from 6.30pm until 10.30pm until 02nd December. Play incorporates elephants, horses, camels and around 250 artists in participation.

Corporation general body meeting review:
Corporation general body met yesterday to discuss various aspects in the run. Body has approved setting up of a web based software system for speedy approvals of land development requests from citizens. The proposed web based application would go live in next one month and would have interface for architects/ citizens to upload their requests and get approvals online. Practical implementation and citizens friendly approach still remains a key challenge.
Corporation and Traders joint meeting on LBT:
Jalgaon district Traders representation met Corporation administrative authorities to discuss various aspects of Local Body Tax collection process. Administration revealed that it is still not receiving LBT returns from around 3,000 to 3,500 traders out of around 7,500 registered traders. Administration has issued LBT notices to traders having 100% goods arriving from outside and 100% goods going out of city need to pay 100% of tax. It has noticed that such traders are paying only 90% tax. Meet also approved sending notices to builders and doctors on LBT collection as per clauses.

Horticulture train to arrive in Bhusawal today:
National horticulture mission’s ambitious start horticulture goods train is reaching in Bhusawal today. Khandesh area has received first honour to use this train for its banana shipments. The 98 containers carrying goods train is first of its kind in India and is having air circulation control to facilitate shipment of perishable agricultural commodities.
Train route includes start from Agra to pick potatoes, take apples from New Delhi and carry both to Washi, Navi Mumbai as destination. It would further move to Nashik to pick grapes, deliver to Jalgaon, and finally take Jalgaon banana to deliver to Delhi markets to complete the journey. Chalisgaon municipal council new building awaits team 2012:
Chalisgaon municipal council new administrative building has been setup on build, operate and transfer basis with estimated cost of 1.50 Crores and is all set to welcome team 2012 winning from council election this season. Traders tussle with Corporation on LBT front:
Taxes implementation in trader friendly manner seems appealing lines on papers but when it comes to practical execution governmental agencies tender to make things more difficult for a normal trader to pay taxes in easiest manner. Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation being the most experimented governmental authority from State taxing perspective started LBT levying a year ago.
The LBT tax having levy of tax on local sales and provision for refunds of tax if sold outside Jalgaon has administration putting traders in a fix. It has issued notices to traders on not filling the LBT tax on whole purchases. Traders reviewing the provisions of LBT and earlier meetings with Corporation authorities are following simple VAT styled input credits deduction for ease of accounting for outside Jalgaon sales. Representation of traders’ confederation met administration yesterday to urge easing the process and cancelling its notices issued to 180 traders demanding 90% balance tax depositing and them claiming refunds.

Jalgaon district’s 12 municipal councils undergoing elections have today as last day of filling nomination forms. Until now, 4,947 forms are sold and 1,077 applications have been received. The list include Bhusawal on top with 202 forms accepted by now followed by Amalner with 158 forms and Chalisgaon on third place with 104 forms sold.

State drama competition – ‘सत्ता’ enters final round:
State drama competition Jalgaon centre result are out. Maharana Pratap educational and cultural Mandal presented play ‘सत्ता’ has received 5 different category awards namely best direction, best lighting arrangements and best performance awards. Central Railways Bhusawal division to develop three phased advanced railway engine:
Central Railways Bhusawal division has received another milestone in its functionality by having development and production centre of three phase advanced railways engine. This engine factory work is in process and around 25% work is completed and will be second biggest setup after Chittaranjan locomotives work in West Bengal.
POH shade in division undertakes engines maintenance work and the same unit would now undertake this process. Engines developed here will have 1,000 HP based 6 motors, advanced system to save electricity, computerised screen for operation and to offer such engines for railways running in the divisional area.

Jalgaon city municipal corporation met on Friday to discuss various projects and policies on agenda. Bhartiya Janta Party Jalgaon unit in guidance with its State and national units has announced mega indefinite protest march against ruling State Government demanding Rs. 6,000 per quintal rate for cotton in this season. Jalgaon – Bhusawal Highway four-lane work meeting review:
National Highway authority of India conducted a review meeting of district leaders, farmers and citizens yesterday at Nashirabad to review and discuss its implementation on Jalgaon to Bhusawal Highway four lane work. Farmers including citizens clearly posted demand of taking uniform 30 meters from either side of the road rather current adopted single side 60 meters land for acquisition. This earlier decision led to protest by farmers losing their land. Meet had participation of top level and technical level authorities of NHAI. Authorities have assured reviewing of the request and update on the plan.
Teacher’s legislative constituency election:
Nashik divisional teacher’s legislative constituency electoral roll update is in process and election is scheduled in next year. Until now, around 17,000 voters from Khandesh have registered their names in the roll until 05th November as last date. Mahavir co-operative Bank gets State Co-operative department nod for expansion:
State co-operative department Commissioner and deputy registrar of department has approved Mahavir urban co-operative Bank Ltd Jalgaon tie up with Thane Janta co-operative bank and has permitted expansion in Aurangabad, Buldhana, Dhule and Nandurbar districts in State. Jalgaon wins State softball competition:
District softball association conducted State softball competition ended yesterday with host Jalgaon girls marking third consecutive year of victory and total 6 winning. Amravati scored second followed by K.D.M.C. team in third place. Jalgaon defeated Amravati by 11-1 in homerun to conquer Late Chavan memorial trophy. Jalgaon airport is all set to begin its commercial flights likely from December last week. Nashik and Solapur having political pressure to start up the airport venture has failed to get passengers inflows and as a result most of airlines have either too low traffic or have reduced their frequencies to operate destinations. Jalgaon airport is likely to have Jalgaon – Mumbai as the only destination to start up and can later have Indore, Pune, Goa, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad connectivity. District administration starts Maha E-Seva centres in Jalgaon:
Jalgaon district administration has started Maharashtra government related services and documents facilitating and assisting ‘E-Seva’ unit in Jalgaon city at 2 places namely opposite Stadium complex and in Ganesh Colony. It has planned to have 312 centres in whole district with 35 centres in city itself. These centres would avail income, caste and domicile certificates initially and later avail 7/12 statement, electricity and telephone bills as well and are government awarded private party run services.
Khandesh Vikas Aghadhi announces plan to fight 8 council elections:
Khandesh Vikas Aghadhi that took shape in Bhusawal municipal council election last tenure has announced its plan to have candidature for 8 out of 12 municipal councils election in district. Rest 4 Council decision is yet to be announced. The Aghadhi will have Shivsena as participating alliance member and it has kept its doors open for other parties to join.
Jain Irrigation floats solar energy generation unit:
Jain green energy projects, a Jain irrigation group company headquartered in Jalgaon has announced launch of its ambitious solar photo voltaic electricity generation unit in Jalgaon in 45 acres land under Jawaharlal Nehru national solar mission. The Company aims to generate 13,960,000KW of electricity per year and has inaugurated project work on yesterday’s special eve of 11-11-11 at 11.11AM. Project completion time is 90 days and would have around 39,000 solar panels to generate electricity.

Airport Authority of India mandates NOC requirement for construction in airport area:
Airport Authority of India Jalgaon airport has mandated need of no objection certificate for construction in airport zone as per civil aviation ministry public notification dated 14th January 2010. The airport zone referred as aerodrome reference point in radius of 20kms will now need compulsory no objection certificate from the authority for all sorts of constructions including those of governmental organisations. All constructions failing this need would be treated as encroachments in the air traffic and would be destructed. AAI prescribed format for NOC is available in its website.
National Highway authority to present draft plan on four-lane work:
National Highway authority of India wide its notification in media has announced conducting a public presentation of proposed four lane work of Jalgaon to Bhusawal Highway. Meeting would have Project director, NHAI for Aurangabad division along with their technical, social and forestry related expert team participation. The draft proposal would describe authority’s plan on the reference and has requested citizens, public representatives to participate in the same at 5pm at New English School Nashirabad in Jalgaon.
NMU student council election results:
North Maharashtra University student council election was conducted yesterday followed by result. Kusumba (Dhule) based Narmadabai Chaudhari College student Rajendra Shinde has been elected as head of council defeating his counterpart by 7 voters. M. J. College student Sanket Deshmukh has been elected as Secretary defeating Ainpur College rival by 6 votes. State directorate of cultural and youth affairs is beginning 51st Maharashtra State drama competition beginning from 11th November until 18th November. The Jalgaon centre of this competition is at Gandhe Hall and will have 8 plays performance. Central government guaranteed rates grains buying begin:
Central government sponsored guaranteed rates buying for Kharip season 2011-12 has begun at 9 centres in district. It has started buying Jwar, corn and Bajra for the season and has offered guaranteed base rate of Rs. 980 per quintal for Jwar and corn. This centre would remain functional until 31st March 2012 at Bodwad, Bhusawal, Yaval, Raver, Amalner, Parola, Dharangaon and Chopda.

Jalgaon district Police recruitment drive for 228 posts round-2 having physical tests is beginning from today and would continue until 14th November. 08th November:
Jalgaon airport work in full pace:
Jalgaon Airport is taking final shape of wings to have flights take off from December 2011. The AAI managed Jalgaon Airport is all set for grand inauguration in December by hands of dignitaries on 303hectares land. Airport phase-1 will have capacity of landing of two 72 seated planes and has 1,700 meters air strip runway along with 68x67 meters apron allowing 2 plane at once for passenger services.
Authorities are currently working on lighting system for night landing, 45 meters narrow runway and is about to complete electrification work. Director civil aviation, bureau of civil aviation security, flight inspection units would conduct its security testing on completion of all works. AAI is yet to announce likely flights from Jalgaon airport and operating companies to offer services for the Airport.
District administration announces next round of sand auctioning:
Jalgaon district administration in its public expression through media has announced its plan of next round of sand auctioning for period until 31st July 2012. The public auctioning is on 15th November and would proceed with expression of interest forms receipt until 14th November. This round of auction will have Jalgaon, Jamner, Erandol, Raver, MuktaiNagar, Chopda, Parola, Amalner, Pachora and Bhadgaon based sand blocks.
Banana amidst 5 fruits included in crop insurance scheme:
State government yesterday announced formal inclusion of banana and four other fruits in its crop insurance scheme. Other fruits include grapes, orange, pomegranate and sweet lime. This inclusion has largely relieved northern Maharashtra region banana producers facing unseasoned raining, cyclonic winds and climatic changes.
Satpuda sugar factory inaugurates boiler for season:
Khandesh region’s one of consistent sugar factory, Satpuda Tapi region co-operative sugar factory Shahada yesterday inaugurated its 37th sugarcane processing. Factory has announced Rs. 1,750 per ton single instalment based payment for sugarcane.

District Police recruitment drive:
Jalgaon district Police mega recruitment drive for 228 posts nomination filling process ended last midnight. The online process adopted by district Police through third party web based application throughout State had large number of applicants applying for the post. Generalised ratio on count is 1:40 with 40 candidates in fray for one role. District Police is yet to announce final figures of applicants. District Police would now send admit cards for physical tests beginning from 09th November.
State level inter-school volleyball competition at Dhule:
The on-going inter-school State level volleyball competition ended yesterday at district sports complex in Dhule with Kolhapur, Amravati, Pune and Aurangabad boys and girls. Competition had under-14, 17, 19 category matches in both groups. Kolhapur won under-14 Boys and Girls, Amravati Boys, Pune Girls won under-17 and Aurangabad Boys, and Pune Girls won under-19 category competition.

Lord Rama temple trust Jalgaon is conducting annual Lord Rama Rath festivity popularly known as ‘जलग्रामॊत्सव’ today on eve of Kartik Ekadashi today. Rath would begin in afternoon from temple in old Jalgaon city and would go through whole city area. Festivity proceeded with 10 days of worshipping of Lord Rama with various means of vehicle.
District banana to gets triple benefit assurance:
Jalgaon district, Dhule and neighbouring Madhya Pradesh based banana fungal infection would soon get 75% central contribution for control, special grants from National horticulture management programme for banana tissue culture and to push up horticulture train start up from Bhusawal to Delhi and Bhusawal to southern India. Amongst other important announcements was posting proposal for Food Park in Jalgaon for approval. Now it would be to district agricultural department authorities and political levels to keep pushing for the efforts to get these assurances in practical implementation. As election code of conduct remained in force, these assurances were more of presentation mode deliveries.
Jain Biogas electricity generation project inauguration today:
Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd Jalgaon’s Jain energy park based biogas electricity generation project is being inaugurated today. This project is India’s only government of India certified largest project of this kind and is based on food-processing unit’s waste part and farms waste and would produce 1.7MW electricity per day with 10tonnes bio fertiliser as by-product. The 18 Crores cost based project produces 40,000units of electricity per day.

District diplomacy gears for demands with Central agricultural ministry:
Central agricultural minister is in Jalgaon today and district’s prolonged demands of banana producers have again taken shape to present for doing needful. District diplomats, co-worker leaders from NCP and other politicians have executed a nice presentation of demand through local print media. There are large welcome hoardings, banners and posters throughout all to be visited areas in region and diplomacy is in its peak state to form environment of comfort to achieve the results. Upcoming Council elections are also amidst centre point of execution and eyeing vote bank.
Amongst top demands, include benefiting banana producers with large-scale implementation of horticulture plans, getting Food Park in district with around 50 Crores to boost banana value. Corporation LBT revenue rise to Rs. 6 Crores:
Jalgaon city municipal Corporation’s local body tax revenue has sharply risen this financial year. Corporation has earned revenue of around 6Crores in October-2011 to that of 4.33 Crores in October-2010. The tax began in May-2010 and had 2.11 Crores revenue to Corporation in first month and later gradually picked pace in collection.
Madhukar Faizpur to start its sugarcane processing from Wednesday, 09th November:
Jalgaon district’s one of major sugar industries, Madhukar Faizpur has announced its 36th boiler inauguration from Wednesday, 09th November. Factory has set ambitious target of 4Lakh metric tonnes processing in the season and has 4,890 hectares cultivation area. Last year it has produced 361,531 bags of sugar and factory has processed 553,367 tons of sugarcane as its record high processing in year 1995-96.
State hockey competition in Bhusawal from 14th November:
State hockey association Pune and its district association in support with R. N. sports club are jointly organising 5-days State level hockey competition in Bhusawal on Railways ground from 14th November. This is first State level competition in district and it would select State team for participation in national competition in Hyderabad in junior and senior category. Junior category attracts first prize of Rs. 21,000, second Rs. 11,000, third Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 4,000 as fourth prize. Municipal Election code of conduct comes in effect:
State Election Commission has enforced election code of conduct for conducting 196 various municipal councils election throughout State. This includes Bhusawal, Amalner, Chalisgaon, Chopda, Pachora, Faizpur, Yaval, Raver, Savda, Parola, Dharangaon and Erandol councils undergoing voting through electronic voting machines.
Schedule has nomination filling from 16th until 22nd November, scrutiny on 23rd November, last date of withdrawal – 29th November, election signs distribution – 30th November, publishing of booth wise electoral roll – 01st December, voting on 08th December and announcement of results on either 08th or 09th December.
EC earlier has extended election expenditure limits in councils. Now A-grade councils have Rs. 3 Lakh per candidate expenditure limit to that of Rs. 45,000 earlier, B-grade have Rs. 2 Lakh, C have Rs. 1.50Lakh and Nagar Panchayat have 1.50Lakhs.
