Legislative council seat sharing announced:

The Congress-I and NCP have announced their seat sharing arrangement for upcoming legislative council election. The first announce in reference has marked 6 seats to NCP and 2 to Congress and rest 3 rests are marked pending for decision. Jalgaon legislative council seat has gone to NCP and Nashik is to Congress-I.

Big Bazaar announces Jalgaon inauguration for 02nd November:
Future Group owned shopping mall chain Big Bazaar has banged in Jalgaon city and is all set to inaugurate its first store in region in Jalgaon at Khandesh Central Mall on 02nd November 2010. The coming Jalgaon unit would have its all major departments. This would be second shopping mall in Jalgaon after Vishal Mega mart.

Silver shoot up by 1,600 in a single day, gold touches lifetime high:

The on-going State level T-20 cricket competition in Jalgaon yesterday witnessed Jain Sports A team defeating Sai Yuva Ahmednagar, Central Railways Bhusawal defeating Rajas Sports and Deccan Gymkhana, RCF teams winning their respective group matches. Competition witnessed its highest score yet of 229 runs by Jain sports A team.

30th October:
State reduces Jalgaon’s second drama play centre for competition:

State government has announced its decision to discontinue second drama play centre for State annual drama competition in its golden jubilee year. It has participation of 14 plays of Jalgaon, Dhule and Madhya Pradesh based artists. Plays at Jalgaon centre would be from 09th until 22nd November at Bal Gandharva Open Theatre.

Khandesh Central T-20 competition:
District cricket association conducted Khandesh Central T-20 cricket competition yesterday witnessed Jalgaon based Rajas Sports Academy winning on Hundekari Eleven on last bowl of the match. Team player scored desired runs on the last bowl of the match and enriched rhythm on the competition. In other matches Jain Sports A and B team along with Aurangabad based Shortshire won their respective group matches.

Jalgaon’s 3 players for national chess competition:
Jalgaon district’s three chess players namely Pratik Patil, Afrin Deshpande and Neha Mudliyar have been selected for participation in national chess competition at Goa from 11th until 14th November. They qualified for this event through league competition winnings.

District skating team selection matches:
Jalgaon district skating team selection for upcoming State level competition at Akola is being conducted on Sunday, 31st October at Vidya English School ground. State level competition is on 09th November and would have Jalgaon boys and girls team participating in large number.

District cricket association conducted Khandesh Central T-20 cricket competition was inaugurated yesterday. Competition had 4 matches on first day and would continue today as well.

Administration enforces section 37(1) and 37(3) in Jalgaon:
Jalgaon district administration has enforced Bombay Police Act 1951 section 37(1) and 37(3) in Jalgaon from 28th October until 10th November following legislative council elections. The section implies ban on group protests and conducting rallies.

Jalgaon divisional Kabbadi competition:
The divisional Kabbbadi competition began yesterday in Jalgaon at Baheti College. Competition inaugural day matches had Adv. Baheti College, Iqra College, D. N. Bhole College Bhusawal and Varangaon Colleges moving towards next league rounds. Quarter final matches would be played today.

RSS All India committee meeting in Jalgaon:

The RSS All India working committee is meeting to discuss various aspects on the roll. The 3-days meet beginning from Friday would discuss widespread measures and action plan ahead. Meet would have its all senior body members and directorates. Meeting has been organised at Shanbhag School at Savkheda.

Sindhi community Varsi festivity at peak:
Sindhi community’s annual Varsi festivity yesterday witnessed peak of its inflow of devotees and community members from across Country. It has reported arrival of around 35,000 community members from different countries and rest of areas in India to participate in the event. Today’s key attraction in the festivity would be mega ‘Bhogsaheb’ offering food services in form of food and Prasadam for everyone. Community’s all fellow member shops would remain closed today. Lord Rama Rath festivity on 07th November:

Jalgaon’s rural deity Lord Rama temple trust is organising this year’s annual Rath festivity from 07th November and the main eve is on 17th November on Kartiki Ekadashi. This is 139th year of festivity and organisers have made wide spread arrangements and religious events conduct to mark this event.

Khandesh Central T-20 cricket competition inauguration tomorrow:
Jalgaon district cricket association organised Khandesh Centarl T-20 cricket competition final schedule has been announced yesterday. It has grouped 20 participating teams in 4 groups and is all set for inaugural ceremony tomorrow morning at Police parade ground.
Event will have 4 matches every day and inaugural match is in Bambhori Engineering and Aurangabad based Shortshire team, Simna Club versus Aurangabad Eleven in morning session and Shinde Academy Nashik versus Jain Irrigation Mumbai team followed by Vivekanand Club Shirsoli and Citra club Malegaon in post lunch session.

Legislative council election on 27th November:

Maharashtra State Election Commission has announced State’s 11 legislative councils election on 27th November followed by votes counting on 30th November. This list includes Jalgaon legislative council and Nashik Graduates constituency. Process would begin from 03rd November with acceptance beginning followed by 10th November as last date. Scrutiny is on 11th November and 13th is last day for withdrawal. Election code of conduct would be effective from yesterday until 04th December.

Sindhi community Varsi festivity from today:
Sindhi community annual Varsi festivity of Baba Hardasram Saheb Godadiwale is beginning from today. The 3 days festivity would continue until 28th November and has wide spread arrangements, decoration and lighting arrangements in Sindhi colony area. This is Saint Kanwarram’s 53rd, Saint Baba Hardasram Saheb’s 33rd and Baba Gelaram Saheb’s 02nd Varsi festivity.
The whole festivity is various religious events beginning at dawn and continuing throughout day at Seva Mandal and has fun fair along with as another attraction for kids. Festivity attracts last number of Pakistan based community members every year.

Khandesh Central T-20 cricket competition preparations in full pace:

Jalgaon district cricket association organised Khandesh Central T-20 Cricket competition preparations are in full pace. Competition is beginning from 28th October and association has received more than 12 team participation from outside Jalgaon. Event would also have participation many Ranji players and State and National level players. Organisers have made arrangements for around 1,500 to 2,000 spectators sitting and has quiz contest for spectators to win prizes in between match intervals.

Central vigilance week from today:
India’s iron man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel annual day is on 31st October and Centre has announced vigilance week on the eve from 25th October until 01st November. It has urged all citizens to mark this week for showering confidence in democracy by reporting corruption on 0257-2235477 to anti-corruption bureau units. It would also give oath to all officers on governmental posts for the same. It has urged citizens to avail information in such cases and has assured privacy in every such handling.

National highway authority begins express highway survey:

National highway authority of India has initiated survey of AH6 highway for four way express highway project from Gujarat – Maharashtra border to Amravati. This survey being conducted by private party has 6 points in this route. Survey includes evaluation of traffic during peak and off peak hours, categories of vehicles and statistical analysis. This survey has raised hopes of region to get express highway soon through national authority like NHAI.

District political fraternity gears up for legislative council elections:
Jalgaon district’s political fraternity has prepared its work around for likely announcement of legislative council local body elections. Political leaders willing to participate have started campaigning and organising their groups and meeting with their vote base in ZP, Corporation and councils. EC is likely to announce this election schedule soon and every party has begun its candidature selection process in background.

Cottonomics 2010 – State CCI buying announces Rs. 3,000 per quintal rate:

Amidst high demands and lower yields in rest of zones, State run CCI has announced Rs. 3,000 per quintal rate to cotton buying this year. The decision has disappointed cotton farmers having wild expectations of around Rs. 4,500 to 5,000 expected rates. Private buyers are already offering Rs. 4,500 to 5,000 per quintal rate depending on quality. The large margin in rates is likely to zero queues in State buying centres and divert most of cotton yields to private ginning and buyers. CCI has sent its expression to Central government to offer counter guarantee rate of Rs. 3,800 to attract farmers and seeing practical availability of good rates. State is yet to announce buying beginning dates and relevant information.

Jalgaon’s ‘Jari Mani Ase Kahi’ wins first prize:
M. J. College Jalgaon team performed one play ‘Jari Mani Ase Kahi’ has won first prize in Nashik divisional level P. L. Deshpande mega trophy State level one-play competition at Nashik. Dabang won second along with ‘The Last Winner’ won third prize in the event. Amruta Kulkarni won best writer, Apurva Kulkarni won best director awards along with Hemant Patil and Kunal Khedkar winning best lyrics in the event.

National fast ball competition in Chalisgaon:
District fastball association is conducting 6th senior national level fast ball competition at Chavan College in Chalisgaon. The 3 days competition has participation of 16 boys and 12 girls’ teams. This sport has mention in various ancient times Romanic literatures and is widely popular in other countries.

Jalgaon divisional cricket competition:
The on-going divisional cricket competition at Ainpur in Raver yesterday witnessed Iqra college winning on Raisoni Engineering by 3 wickets along with St. Gadge Baba College defeating KCE COEIT by 27 runs.

State approves Rs. 430 Crores for Padalsare project:

Maharashtra State ministry has allocated 430 Crores to Padalsare project in Amalner Taluka to allocate water supplies to Dondaicha based Electricity Produces Unit owned by MAHAGENCO. Meet had participation of various leaders from region and had wide discussion on Tapi irrigation development Corporation’s proposed water lifting for Bodwad project. Currently this project has 14.39TMC capacity.

Kojagiri preparations in district:
Jalgaon city also known for its popular brand Vikas by Jalgaon milk union is all set to mark another glory in Kojagiri pornima in this festive. Union has announced availing 2.25 Lakh litres of milk for Jalgaon city on this eve and has setup wide preparations for availing at Bhusawal and rest district. Region largely celebrates this festivity through various cultural cum social form.

21st October:
State approves modernisation of Dhule Airport:

Maharashtra State government has approved modernisation of Gondur (Dhule) Airport. This would be next big leap in district’s growth and development after announcement and setting up of electricity production centre, solar city, Lupin foundation scarcity removal drive, industrial corridor cum cargo hub. It has begun search for extension of land for modernisation.
Currently the Gondur airport is at 15kms distance and was transferred to State Airport Development Company in January 2007 for maintenance. It is setup on 63 hectares land with 1380 by 30.50 meters air strip. Proposed modernisation will have land acquisition for extending air strip, fencing, apron, hanger repairs, night landing, terminal building repairs estimated at 2.13 Crores and 300 hectares land acquisition. Total budget allocation for this project is 168.66 Crores.

Save Narmada River mission silver jubilee tomorrow:
Save Narmada River mission is completing its silver jubilee this year on 22nd October and has organised various projects/ event on the eve at Dhadgaon in Nandurbar and Badwani in MP. This would have participation of all national level activists of the project. The team would also visit Sardar Sarovar project affected rehabilitation camp areas.

Jalgaon district’s Jagdish Zope, Shivprasad Purohit (both in under 16), Dhaval Hemnani, Jitendra Patil (both in under 22) and Chandan Ranve in under-19 category have been selected in State team for various age group cricket  competitions throughout the year ahead.

20th October:
Cloudy climate and raining disrupt living:

Region continued witnessing medium to heavy raining yesterday as well. Humid climate and cloudy weather turning suddenly into rain showering has disrupted routine life and has thrown ready to pick and taken cotton, banana and other grains. Farmers estimate it would benefit coming Rubby season crop. Raver Taluka had most of raining in last two days.

Bodwad project water lifting raises debates – bureaucracy and political tussle to intense further:
Much awaited and prestigious Bodwad irrigation project having been inaugurated last year by hands of Her Excellency President of India is in troubles on water management. As a result of this there are large amount of discussions and debates in bureaucracy and leaders on Tapi Irrigation development Corporation’s proposed reduction of dam water releases to Khandesh and diversion to the project. Project has involvement of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat and would benefit all 3 States for supplies and hence reducing Khandesh’s water resources has pained region with special purview of its agricultural base and increased needs of water supplies.
Farmers and leaders in region have demanded joint meeting of all 3 States to arrive at water plan and in align with central water commission. Currently water lifting has proposed picking up of Hatnur, Bori, Manyad and Chankapur dam and divert the same to Bodwad project.

19th October:
State meeting on Padalse project:

State irrigation ministry has called a meeting on discussions and progress report of Amalner Taluka based Padalse project. This meet would focus on need of getting more funds for the project and discuss on Tapi River based dam water issue raised after State department announcement of lifting water for Bodwad project. Meet would also have participation of MLA from the region.

Raining in Jalgaon:
Whole Jalgaon district and city witnessed medium to heavy raining yesterday evening. The sudden raining began with cloudy climate since morning and later continued for an hour. Climate is still cloudy and had showering in morning today. Sudden heavy raining would disrupt current yields of cotton and banana.

District’s 7 players selected for IPCL:
Khandesh’s 7 players have been selected in Indian Premier Corporation League (IPCL) various participating teams for upcoming all India T-20 cricket competition at Lucknow from 23rd October. This includes Jalgaon’s 6 and Dhule’s one player. This includes Pravin Tayade, Prashant More, Bipin Patil, Ravindra Wadekar, Satyajit Mahajan and Ashfaf Pathan from Jalgaon along with Naitik Ahuja from Dhule. Event has 8 participating teams and aims at encouraging cricketing in rural areas throughout Country.

Irrigation department’s dam water move panics region:

State irrigation department proposed plan to reduce drinking and irrigation releases quota of various dam and shifting to Bodwad dam project has triggered panic to whole region. Region is already facing drinking water woes since more than a decade has hard time to tackle this bureaucratic approach. Region’s political leaders have marked their strong protest to this proposed move with a caution note of supportive approach for Bodwad project. Proposed plan has major water lifting from Tapi River based dam and this is likely to affect region’s banana and sugarcane yields badly.

Dashera festivity preparations in full pace:
District is all set to mark another glorious celebration of Dashera festivity on Sunday. Key attraction of festivity is burning of Ravana effigy at Mehrun Lake to mark victory of pious efforts on evil minds. This festivity would mark its silver jubilee in this year by Panchamukhi Hanuman Mandal. This year’s Muhurat is at 6.45pm on the Mehrun Lake Chowpatty area.

Irrigation department prepares dam water management plan:
State water resources department has prepared draft plan of new water management policy for Khandesh region amidst launch of Bodwad irrigation project. This plan proposes reduction in Chankapur, Manyad, Bori and Hatnur dam water supplies and diverts the same to Bodwad irrigation project. This proposal has been sent to Central Water Commission for final approval. If implemented it would badly affect region’s irrigation planning following reduced water supplies for irrigation. It has also reported to commission of no feasibility of new dam for Jalgaon district.

14th October:
‘Burjhvagaman’ selected for international film festival:

Jalgaon based literary author Divakar Chaudhari literary based farmer’s biography film ‘Burjhvagaman’ has been nominated for participation in international film festival to be held in Mumbai from 21st until 28th October conducted by Mumbai Academy of movie images. This movie is directed by Khandesh native Hitendra Upasani and briefs farmer’s overall life and its various perspectives and present farmer as one of most stable and able person fighting all odds of life and his bread earning.

District’s 590 villages qualifies for eco-village scheme:
State government rural development ministry conducted eco village drive has qualified district’s 590 villages. District ZP has sent proposal of Rs. 18.62 Crores to State for approval and availing grants. Drive qualifies villages based on various factors like 60% self-owned toilets, census’s 50% plantation and above 60% village Panchayat taxes recovery. Villages having qualified and population above 10,000 would receive Rs. 10 Lakh each, those will population in 7-10,000 will receive 8 Lakh each, Rs. 5 Lakh each for village with population of 5-7,000 and Rs. 4 Lakh each for villages with population of 2-5,000 for first year. Raver tops the list with 73 villages and Dharangaon is on bottom with 23 villages selected for the drive.

Neighbouring Burhanpur has offered Rs. 4,325 per quintal rate. Shirpur based Priyadarshini co-operative cotton ginning factory yesterday announced offering Rs. 5,000 per quintal rate to high quality cotton yield and Rs. 4,000 per quintal to normal quality produces.

Jain sports A team wins Agrawal memorial cricket competition:
District Cricket association conducted Late Agrawal memorial cricket competition ended yesterday with Jain Sports-A team winning the competition by defeating its counterpart team Jain Sports-B in finals by 3 wickets. Team’s Mehul Ingale won man of the match award for 5 wickets and Shashank Attarde won Man of the series for two centuries and 6 wickets throughout the competition. Prize money included Rs. 11,000 for first and Rs. 5,000 along with trophy for both teams. Sagir Shah (Simna club) won best batsman, Mehul Ingale (Jain sports-A) won best bowler and Varun Deshpande (Jain Sports-A) won best wicket keeper award.

District cricket association conducted State level T-20 cricket competition from 28th October:
Jalgaon district cricket association has announced T-20 cricket competition on State level beginning from 28th October at Police parade ground. Competition would have participation of 20 teams from across the State and has 4 matches in a day on league basis.
Competition attracts first prize of Rs. 51,000, runner up award of Rs. 21,000, third prize of Rs. 11,000 and Rs. 5,000 for fourth team with trophy for each. It also attracts various individual man of the match award and series based awards as well.

Railways urges Corporation to close Shivaji Nagar Railway overhead bridge:

Central railways has issued letter to district Collectorate, Corporation and district Police to pay immediate attention to Shivaji Nagar based railways overhead bridge. This bridge has completed its life and was completed in 1913 through British collaboration. Bridge has served for more than 97 years and has large use of stone blocks. This bridge connects Jalgaon city with Shivaji Nagar area. Both railways and Corporation are tussling on proposed new bridge since last 9 years.

Banana crosses Rs. 800 per quintal rate:
District’s banana producers have cheering time these days with rising demand and lower inflow. As a result of this, banana yesterday crossed Rs. 800 mark and touched Rs. 822 per quintal. District’s co-operative depositors to get Rs. 40 Crores:

Jalgaon district’s co-operative depositors would receive 40.35 Crores through State’s soft loan policy for financially indebt co-operative societies. Jalgaon district is on top of the list. Dhule will get 2.64 Crores and Nandurbar will get 12.37 Lakhs. This disbursement will be availed to depositors having deposits up to 50,000 and would benefit 17 societies based 62,101 depositors.

State debating competition at Chalisgaon – Chavan College wins:
B. P. Arts, S. M. A. Science and K. K. C. Commerce College Chalisgaon conducted State level debating and elocution competition ended yesterday with Chalisgaon based Chavan College winning debating and P. O. Nahata College winning elocution competition. Ashish Kunte (College of Education Dhule), Swati Handore (KTHM College Nashik) and Priyanka Laddha (Chavan College Chalisgaon) won individual category awards in elocution. Savda banana exports facilitation centre reopens:

Jalgaon district’s earlier closed banana exports facilitation centre setup in Savda has been reinstated by agricultural produces buying and selling co-operative society on trial run. It has processed around 2 tonnes of banana on first day yesterday.
This centre was setup with APEDA new delhi and Maharashtra agricultural produces marketing Pune with 5.50 Crores cost and has 25 tonnes daily processing capacity. Earlier two societies having taken for run failed to gain farmers confidence for the same.

Marwadi women cell organised expo:
New city Marwadi women forum is conducting 3 days exhibition cum sale of its entrepreneur lady members from 23rd until 25th October at Leva boarding hall. This expo will have 85 stalls and would also inaugurate State level directory ‘Bruhat Udyogini 2010’ having details of all small savings group and lady entrepreneurs. Jalgaon’s taekwondo pro player Trupti Tayade has won a gold medal in State senior men and women taekwondo competition conducted at Aurangabad. Heavy raining and lightning destructs routine life:

Jalgaon district yesterday afternoon witnessed sudden climatic changed beginning with lightning and converting to heavy raining all around. This led to death of two in Jalgaon one each from Lasur (Chopda) and Maheji (Pachora). Sudden heavy raining also badly affected standing crop in the region. Raining continued for around an hour and led to pouring and flooding at many outlets and good water level increase in various dam.

Madhukar Faizpur to inaugurate boiler on 08th October:

04th October:
State approves Corporation’s drainage control plan:

Maharashtra State government has given nod for Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation submitted city development plan based drainage conversion to underground. The 154 Crores drainage plan aims at making all drainage lines underground and thereby making city roads at best and reducing the mosquitoes and alike flying insects. City currently has 120kms based gutters and most of these are open. Same or more is state of roads. City’s population as per new census has crossed 5 Lakhs mark and has around 430kms based roads desired for normal use. City currently has just 65kms good conditioned roads. The overall city development plan is of Rs. 2,100 Crores and this primary technical approval of State would now go to Centre for final nod.

District level cricket competition – Sigma Club and M. J. College wins:
Jalgaon district cricket association conducted open district level competition yesterday witnessed Sigma Club defeating Prashant Club by 62 runs and M. J. College winning on ICC Khote Nagar team by 67 runs. Sigma club scored 190 runs in 35.4 over batting first and bowled out defending team on 129 runs. M. J. College team scored 240 runs for 7 wickets in 40 overs and bowled out its competing team at 174 runs. Today’s competition includes Dhumal Cricket academy versus Shinde Academy and Vivekanand Shirsoli versus DDNB Bhusawal teams.
