Maharashtra State government has issued transfer order to current Jalgaon district Collector for appointment as Collector at Aurangabad. It is yet to announce new Collector for Jalgaon.
Riya sports club win national level cricket competition:
Jalgaon’s Riya sports club has won Sindhiya Cricket club Chandigarh conducted open national level cricket competition. Competition had participation of various state teams and had 30 overs a side pattern. Riya Academy defeated Goa in finals. Goa batted first and availed target of 229 runs. Jalgaon achieved this target with handsome knock of 107 runs by Satyajit Patil in mere 63 balls. Rohit Patil assisted him by chipping valuable 54 runs. Club player Satyajit Patil has won man of the series award with his exceptional performance of scoring 238 runs and 3 wickets throughout the tournament. Team’s Yashwant Chavan won best bowler award taking 13 wickets, Rohit Patil won best all-rounder who scored 140 runs and 9 wickets in various forms.

Jalgaon’s growth boon is singing these days with large arrival of banking institutions now followed by retail giants. The giant MNC brand has finalised its location in newly built up shopping complex near Collectorate and has begun its interior works in full pace. This opening would flagship many new retail giants arrival in food and likely segments.
Jalgaon earlier has witnessed significant arrival of banking institutions in form of private, nationalised and co-operative banks setting up and expanding their Jalgaon presence. Jalgaon city earlier having finger countable count of ATM machines now has almost 50+ ATM machines by various banks to facilitate its customers.
This in parallel witnessed good arrival of various brands in readymade and living stuff. City’s M. G. Road is now full of such retail outlets in large number and with good collection of variety and reasonability in rates. Lightning kills 4 in Khandesh:
Dhule city and rest of Khandesh region yesterday witnessed medium to heavy raining. Raining began with lightning and killed 3 in Dhule and one in Jalgaon district. Dhule had heavy raining for around 3 hours yesterday evening wherein Jalgaon city had rain showering in evening. Raining continued late till night.
Chalisgaon and Pachora Taluka yesterday witnessed cyclonic winds before raining. Winds have severely damaged standing banana crop in both Tahsil. Administration is beginning losses assessment today.
Ajanta turns lush green – huge inflow of visitors:
Nature’s bliss Ajanta caves have turned lush green all around these days with beginning of raining. The world heritage monument hilly zone is now fully surrounded by greenery and the highest view point to caves view has turned attraction of everyone. Inter-district football competition at Dhule:
Dhule District football association conducted inter-district State level football competition day-1 yesterday had Buldhana, Sangli and Jalna teams winning their respective group matches. Jalgaon versus Satara match was postponed following heavy raining. Match would be played today. Buldhana defeated Nagar by 3-1, Sangli defeated Bhandara by 8-2 and Jalna won on Thane by 4-1.

Administration’s disaster management fiasco – half of region in darkness:
Bureaucratic fiasco marked the weekend yesterday with administration and other authorities much talked disaster management failed in real needed time. District witnessed sudden cyclonic winds followed by raining yesterday evening. The high wind pressure jolted electricity supply polls and as a result of this city’s residential area electricity was taken off since yesterday evening 4pm.
State Electricity Distribution Company authorities failed to restore this supply till late night and were working on normalcy till late night. This led to almost 12 hours power outages in Ayodhya Nagar, Mahabal, Girana pumping area, Wagh Nagar, Court area and many of residential zones. Company’s earlier announced disaster control plans did not came in effect at needed time and as a result life turned miserable in spite of being weekend. Power invertors and UPS systems also gave up their storage to ease from humid climate outside. Candles and darkness at most places marked stamps of woes on governing agencies and their understanding on living.

Deity Muktai Palakhi moves for Pandharpur:
Khandesh’s second Pandharpur deity Muktai temple organised annual Palakhi of deity has moved towards Pandharpur. The tradition started decades ago and is carried out to Pandharpur on every Ashadhi Ekadashi. It would reach Pandharpur by 30th June and has large number of devotees in phased manner for carrying Palakhi.
State football competition begins today in Dhule:
District football association, Dhule Corporation are jointly conducted western Indian football association’s 09th men’s state level football competition at Dhule. Competition has participation of 28 district’s around 600 players, 28 referee and 40 office bearers of respective team. Organisers have expected around 8 Lakhs expense for the event and have reserved SSVPS ground, district stadium and many other locations for plays, accommodation and related aspects.
Corporation earns 80% of Octroi tax in LBT:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation has earned around 80% of its Octroi revenue through newly implemented local body tax. This includes 2.11 Crores in May, 2.99 Crores in June till date, 1.52 Crores through escort fee and 54 Lakhs in cess on franking charges totalling to around 7 Crores. It would have earned 10.72 Crores in Octroi. This collection does not include jewellers as they have not yet paid following dispute in tax rate. Corporation estimates another 2 Crores from them.
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation standing committee met yesterday to discuss various projects in plan. It has approved Rs. 2 Crores expense for various roads resurfacing works. Corporation has received Rs. 84 Lakhs MLA fund for this work. Amongst other discussions include construction of gymnasium at existing swimming pool near Mehrun garden and above fish market.
Chopda sugar factory begins preparation for upcoming season:
Jalgaon’s one of major functional sugar factory, Chopda factory has initiated its processes for upcoming series sugarcane collection and alike aspects. The first step includes contracting labours for picking up sugarcane from fields. State has announced policy to start processing by 07th October. It plans to get 2,500 metric tonnes plucked and processing of 250,000 to 300,000 tonnes of sugarcane. Factory area has 4,180 hectares of sugarcane cultivation and it plans to avail one advanced instalment to labours to ease its workers woe.

Tapi – Narmada Rivers survey in final phase:
Khandesh region is all set to get two agricultural blissing project estimated at 1,434 Crores cost. This includes Narmada and Tapi River diversion and linking of Par – Tapi – Narmada – Damanganga and Pinjar River projects. Authorities are in full pace preparation of final drawings, plans, surveying of all Rivers in the project. Central, State and Gujarat governments have given nod to project. Both projects would dramatically change irrigable land scenario with ample availability of water throughout the year and would benefit Nandurbar largely and secondarily to Dhule and Jalgaon to draw back-water.
Central Water commission has availed 10.89tmc water usage rights to Maharashtra. Most of Maharashtra side Narmada River has dense forestry, hilly zones and tribes. As a result, new dam would be constructed on various smaller Rivers by linking them with basin water in Gujarat border area and setting up 20MW electricity unit as well. It would set up tunnel to turn 5.59tmc water stored here to 20-25kms based Taloda and Shahada in Nandurbar district.
The Rivers linkage project would spread prosperity in both Maharashtra and Gujarat States and would also avail drinking purposes water to Mumbai. Tapi River has 208kms spread in Khandesh and Jalgaon and Dhule both have barrages at various points. Both projects on completed would largely benefit Tapi basin region and would usher new arena of agricultural prosperity for both States.
District dams on zeroing state of water storage:
The June ending arrival and very low amount of raining yet has raised signals of panic for region as most of its dam are turning down to zero levels. Waghur, Bori, Tondapur, Hivra, Mangrul, Bahula and Gul dam dependent villages and cities are on reserved storage. If monsoon arrival delays further, Jalgaon city and region would likely have to move on 3-4 days alternate supplies to balance water resources. Region’s largest Girana dam has just 6.62% storage as of now. Delays in Monsoon have equally impacted agriculture in region.
District’s 7 Tahsil receives sports complex construction approval:
Jalgaon district’s 7 Tahsil have received State approval for construction of sports complex. State’s stadium at every Tahsil level scheme aims to promote sporting activities in youth and avails hefty contribution to construction cost and setup and every Tahsil in State. List of technical approval received Tahsil includes Dharangaon – 1.17 Crores, Erandol – 1.78 Crores, Amalner – 1.18 Crores, MuktaiNagar – 1.27 Crores, Parola – 1.19 Crore, Bhadgaon – 1.26 Crores and Bhusaawl – 3 Crores to construct sports complex with all amenities. District administration through its Tahsil units would now control further processing, tendering and actual work completion process.

National horticulture mission enhances banana grants:
Central government sponsored National horticulture mission 2010-11 will now have increased per hectare rate for banana and Papaya to Rs. 41,602 and Rs. 27,391. Mission aims increased cultivation and productivity through tissue culture. District producers and farmers have received this benefit for mere 400 hectares land till now. Both earlier had Rs. 15,000 per hectare grants. This scheme has 85% share from Centre and rest 15% from State government.

Jalgaon district’s 12 players have been selected in State training session for upcoming Junior category National women football competition organised by Western India football association at Mumbai. District agricultural department to initiate ‘Apna Bazaar’:
Jalgaon district agricultural department thrilled by response to its first ever expo cum sale for agricultural produces has announced opening up of ‘Apna Bazaar’ in district. This centre will have direct supplies of farmers and producers and customers can enjoy direct fresh fruits and vegetables at comparatively lower rates as in between agents profit margins would end. Administration has planned this execution in association with NABARD and State marketing federation. Indian youth chess team training camp in Jalgaon:
The Indian youth 15 members team is arriving in Jalgaon for its training session for upcoming Asian youth championship in China from 09th July. Worsening state of Electricity Distribution and Supply services:
Maharashtra State known for its uninterrupted and promptness in government services a decade ago has faced drastic beating on this front. State’s Electricity distribution system, local governance like Corporation and councils along with ZP are worst affected with this laze of lower and influenced working. Electricity distribution system earlier having promptness in service has failed badly and one even does not find any official or electricians to take care of emergency woes. Much media publicised disaster managements and action plans remain purely in papers and no one efforts. Bureaucratic effect is so worst that nothing moves quickly without political interfacing and assistance. As a result of this citizens have to forcefully attach with political influences. Council and corporations have same of beat in working and offering public services. None of public service is in normalised state of self-driven services.
Cyclonic winds hits Chopda Taluka:
Chopda Taluka’s many villages yesterday witnessed sudden cyclonic winds causing severe damages to standing banana crop and took off shelters of many houses. Amalner Taluka witnessed cyclonic winds and raining for around 30 minutes yesterday evening. Neighbouring Sakri and Dhule also had cyclonic winds followed by heavy raining. This led to flooding in Sakri and disrupted normal life in Dhule as well.

Yaval top on rainfall list:
Bhusawal division witnessing continued rain showering since last day witnessed a day break yesterday. Yaval is on top of list and Muktai Nagar is on bottom of list in raining in last 2 days’ rain. Yaval has received 23.8mm wherein Muktai Nagar had just 6mm rainfall. Continued raining has risen farmer’s cultivation process at full pace.
District co-operative department orders loan settlement pattern:
Jalgaon district co-operative department has ordered taking minimum 50% cash and rest 50% in deposit receipts form while settling any outstanding loan. This directive has come amidst large number of co-operative societies and banks having run in trouble beginning intensive loan settlement procedures. Most of loan borrowers initiated pattern of taking due fixed deposits of respective bank at lower than principal rates and adjusting it in their due loan at full principal rates. Earlier order availed liberty of minimum 30% cash requirement for respective society or bank to settle loans.
It has also begun preparation of a new list of 7,661 co-operative depositors eligible to get Rs. 10,000 each amounting to 6.27 Crores under State's soft loan scheme to societies. State has availed 9.38 Crores first instalment and then second instalment of Rs. 5.99 Crores for availing refunds of due deposits.
Administration begins electoral roll review:
Jalgaon district administration has begun review of electoral roll process from 15th June. This includes visiting every house booth-wise and checking voters as per check list prepared along with photo identity. It has appointed 2,977 supervisors for the same and process would continue till 31st July. Administration aims 100% completion of photo identity card based electoral roll by 31st January 2011. It has reported 2,834,284 voters as per earlier electoral roll and has availed photo identity cards to 83% of them.

SSC 2010 result – district shines in Nashik division with 90.54% passing:
Maharashtra State board for secondary and higher secondary education yesterday announced SSC March 2010 result. Jalgaon district has topped in division with 90.54% passing and Dharangaon Taluka is on top of list with 94.55% scoring in district. Girls have outshined boys by continuing lead performance. Jalgaon corporation area equally witnessed cheering result with 93.45% score. Dhule district had 81.29% and Nandurbar had 85.54% score. This year’s result has Jalgaon’s 7 candidates scoring 100 out of 100 marks with addition of sports marks.
Khandesh witnessed two suicides on account of failure in SSC result yesterday. This includes one girl each from Devbhane (Dhule) and Chalisgaon following failure in SSC result. Board implemented best of five percentage calculation system in this result. It has calculated student’s percentage based on top five scorings made. SSC result has now triggered FYJC admission. District has around 42,000 seats for XI and this year’s pass out count is 48,161. This could likely race merits at admissions and trouble students.
Jalgaon, Dhule Mayor post reserved for open category candidate:
State urban development ministry yesterday conducted a draw of reservation on various corporation mayor posts. Jalgaon Corporation mayor post has now been allocated to open category women wherein Dhule Corporation post is for open category candidate. Jalgaon Corporation’s current mayor tenure would end in March-2011 and this new reservation would be applicable for next selection.

SSC 2010 result today:
Maharashtra State board’s SSC March-2010 exam result is being announced today at board website by 11AM. This year’s SSC result will have best of five pattern followed and same scoring would be taken in consideration in FYJC admissions. Result is available on board website http://www.mahresult.nic.in. Mark sheets would be availed by Saturday in respective schools. Jalgaon district’s 56,961 students appeared in the exam. FYJC admission process would begin after board’s order.
Rain showering throughout Khandesh:
Whole Khandesh region witnessed continued rain showering throughout day yesterday. Chalisgaon, Pachora and Nandurbar district marked rain pouring wherein Dhule and rest areas had showers continued for whole day. Meteorological department has estimated heavy raining, thunder showering in many areas in Jalgaon district in coming 48 hours. Administration has issued warnings to citizens living on banks of Rivers.
Raver remained top on top of the rainfall list with 39mm raining followed by Muktainagar with 21.2mm and Bhusawal with 14.8mm. Jalgaon had 6.5mm raining yesterday.

Whole Khandesh region eagerly awaiting Monsoon’s rainfall is witnessing climatic changes in form of increased humidity, cloudy weather and rain showering. Jalgaon district administration yesterday opened its buffer stock of around 6,900 tonnes DAP, MOP 12:32:16 and 10:26:26 alike chemical fertilisers for this season. MHT-CET 2010 result announced:
Maharashtra State engineering, pharmacy and medical joint entrance exam MHT-CET 2010 result was announced yesterday. Jalgaon student Piyush P. Chandak and Bhusawal student Tilak Narendra Pethe scored 191 out of 200 to achieve first rank throughout district along with Tushar Chaudhari scoring 190 marks. District’s 9,157 students appeared at 26 centres for this exam. Student Shirpur Jagdish Pawra secured second rank in backward classes students by securing 179 out of 200 marks.
ZP general body meeting review:
Jalgaon district council (ZP) general body met yesterday to discuss various projects in run. Body has approved unanimously to destruct old ZP building. President inaugurates Jalgaon airport developmental works – marks this as new catalyst to Jalgaon’s industrial growth:
Her Excellency President of India Pratibhatai Patil inaugurated Jalgaon airport extension and developmental works yesterday. In her keynote address she marked this airport start up as key catalyst to region’s industrial and overall growth in coming times and expected this connectivity to give equal boost to region’s core agricultural activities logistics. Airport inauguration ceremony had State Governor, Central aviation minister, Jalgaon’s MP and MLA along with Airport Authority of India top officials. AAI has estimated Jalgaon airport project total cost at 350 Crores and has expressed need of 100 acres more land to give full-fledged airport terminus including night landing facilities.
Airport inauguration ceremony marked administration’s mismanagement as few of MLC, leader of opposition and key Jalgaon airport project initiators were not even invited. These members boycotted the ceremony following disarrayed approach by admin authorities. President left Jalgaon yesterday evening for Delhi through Helicopter to Aurangabad and then special aeroplane to Delhi. President’s this visit has cheered region to embark new glory and dawn prosperity ahead.
District’s all Schools to reopen this week:
Jalgaon district’s all governmental and private schools are reopening from this week. Maharashtra State Government’s new decision of allowing carrying till class VIII has come into effect beginning with this academic year and as a result of this all students would pass and move in next classes until 08th without any condition. This change is revolutionary phase in educational system in State and would equally ease students and teacher’s burden and reduce unnecessary initiated horse race in scoring the best. State and its education department has urged parents to have wider understanding on this policy and not to embark their wards to any competitive/ private exams aside their schooling. President inaugurates Corporation waste recycling plant:
Her Excellency President of India Pratibhatai Patil yesterday inaugurated Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation’s B.O.T. basis waste recycling plant through remote control panel switching from Ajanta guest house. Yesterday’s presidential tour to relatives in city marked mega traffic blocks from morning 8AM until 2pm in afternoon.
Today’s events include Jalgaon airport works inauguration by 9.30AM and then inauguration of Mechanical engineering building in Shrama Sadhana College of Engineering and Technology Bambhori by 10.45AM. Jalgaon airport’s first phase estimate is of 81 Crores and likely public flights beginning by November/ December 2011. She would return back to Delhi by evening 4.45PM from Jalgaon to Aurangabad through Helicopter and then from Aurangabad to Delhi.
MHADA announces housing schemes for Jalgaon and Bhusawal:
State owned MHADA has announced floating of housing scheme for Nashik housing development and area development region comprising of Nashik, Malegaon, Sinnar, Dhule, Bhusawal, Jalgaon and Ahmednagar. It has floated requirement of land for buying to initiate the project. Its open notice inviting land owners to send offer letters include need of minimum 1 hectare land with clear titles and in good connectivity. It plans to float housing scheme for common citizens.
Cyclonic winds and raining in Dhanora:
Chopda Taluka based Dhanora village witnessed sudden cyclonic winds followed by rain pouring yesterday evening. Winds damaged standing banana crop worth Lakhs and took off shelters of many schools and temporary alike houses. It has injured one animal and no human injuries have been reported. ASI reports finding of two uncompleted caves at Ajanta:
The Archaeological survey of India having initiated works for gaps filling in stones of caves front side has reported finding of two incomplete and just begun kind of caves above section of cave#1 to cave#6. Raining and cyclonic winds in Jalgaon:
Jalgaon city and its neighbouring areas witnessed sudden cyclonic winds beginning by 3.30pm in afternoon. Bodwad irrigation project gets 62 Crores initial approval:
Bodwad irrigation project to be inaugurated by President has received State’s first grant of Rs. 62 Crores through Tapi irrigation development Corporation. State has finalised its tender and has announced setting up of wind power or solar power based electricity generation unit to cater to electricity needs of this irrigation project. This unit would require 41.70MW electricity and proposed setup will have State’s 25% investment of 9,500 Lakhs. This irrigation project is India’s largest project and would benefit 50,000 hectares land for water availability in Jalgaon and Buldhana districts.
Corporation waste recycling project inauguration on 12th June:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation’s waste recycling plant setup in built operate and transfer operation would be inaugurated on 12th June by President. This project has been setup by private party and aims to recycle 110 tones waste every day. Project would recycle and generate organic fertilisers and it would produce 33 tonnes of fertiliser. It would also produce plastic granules, bags required for boilers as bye-produces. This is State’s fourth waste recycling plant and is for 30 years agreement on BOT basis.

Khandesh region’s second Diwali begins:
Khandesh region’s mini Diwali festivity is beginning today with arrival of Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil from 10th until 13th June for tour of Dhule and Jalgaon. Jalgaon and Dhule’s all governmental buildings are lighting decorated to mark grand welcome. Dhule city equally has enthusiastic environment. All major roads have mega welcome hoardings and posters to cheer the sentiments and Rangoli drawings would mark the enthusiasm. This tour reminds Jalgaonities of last tour having amazed infrastructural growth and developmental activities and equally marked most active state of bureaucracy. Special privileges like 24x7 electricity supplies, highest security, most functional state of every government agency and above all presenting best growths mark this as second Diwali of whole Khandesh region.

Jalgaon district Police has diverted traffic in Jalgaon city and on various required routes during Presidential visit. Major blocks include Neri Naka to Jalgaon city entry, Jalgaon to Aurangabad road through Ajanta crossing have been blocked. Bodwad road has been blocked for all traffic on 11th June. Jalgaon city’s major routes also remain blocked pre 30 minutes and post 30 minutes of scheduled timing of respective tour.

JDCC bank districts 232 Crores for Kharip:
Jalgaon district central co-operative bank has distributed 232 Crores Kharip crop loan in this season until now. Department has estimated around 50,000 hectares cotton cultivation in this season. Cultivation and sowing process would begin with first shower of monsoon. Bank has set target of 550 Crores this year and would continue distribution till 30th September. It has 275,000 member farmers.
Jalgaon airport works progress update:
Airport authority of India has triggered full pace works for inauguration of Jalgaon airport developmental works. It has also set up 5 helipads for arrival of VVIP for the function. The airport building has fully air conditioned rest house and arrangement of around 6,000 persons seating for the inaugural ceremony. Inauguration would be through remote control to lay foundation stone and it would follow President’s speech.
Airport work is being carried in two phases which includes runway, building, taxi way and apron works in first phase estimated at 61 Crores. Second phase includes new building construction and extension of runway. AAI officials have estimated likely first flight from Jalgaon in November-December 2011.

Bodwad project likely to receive water commission approval today:
District’s prestigious much awaited Bodwad irrigation project is likely to receive Central water commission go ahead nod. Project has already received State approval and this commission approval would make a real trigger to the project. State Government has initiated emergency meeting today to get this approval. Project is estimated at 1,500 Crores and would benefit district as well as neighbouring Madhya Pradesh districts. A few MLA from region have noted their protest to the scheme with a feeling of water availed from this project would be dearer for farmers.

Maharashtra State Table tennis association conducted State rated Phoenix cup 2010 championship competition ended yesterday with Mumbai team and Thane girls winning respective category competition. The 5-days competition had around 750 player participation with Mumbai zone dominating the play.

Entire Khandesh region is all set to have second grand welcome of Her Excellency Pratibhatai Patil on arrival in region from 10th until 13th June. Proposed grand welcome plan includes drawing Rangoli on presidential tour route, welcome boards will only have President photo, welcome text and organisation name doing so (board members name will not be allowed), all hoardings/ boards to take Corporation approval, appointed advertising agency would post 100 welcome posters on main roads in city, all governmental buildings will have lighting decoration. Administration enforces section 37(1) and 37(3):
District administration has enforced Bombay Police Act 1951 section 37(1) and 37(3) in district from 05th June until 19th June on grounds of various communal violence recently noted and President arrival in city. This section bans carrying arms, marking group protests, burning effigies and likely grouped activities.

Jalgaon city municipal Corporation seeing Local Body tax collection for month of April 2010 has initiated stringent measures to check traders on reasons of non-payment of taxes. Corporation has received 2.10 Crores LBT for April-2010 and this collection is from 1,400 out of 6,000 registered traders. It has formed committee to check traders on maintenance of records and liability of tax.

Electricity load shedding and intense temperature damages banana crop:
Jalgaon district’s banana growing zones Raver, Yaval and MuktaiNagar Taluka have witnessed acute losses on grounds of risen temperature and increased load shedding during May-2010. Primary estimates suggest around 10,000 banana plants (produces costing at 500 Crores) being cut and thrown as they got damaged due to intense heat waves. Mercury touched 49 degrees in this season and this rise also added sharp increase in load shedding and rural areas were worst beaten. Banana producers have demanded government attention to regulate electricity supply Company to agriculture and urged Company to announce annual electricity availability plan for planned cultivation.
NMU receives 25 Lakhs for Women study centre:
North Maharashtra University languages department has received Rs. 25 Lakhs special grant to setup women study centre. MIDC to get 250 hectares additional land:
After years of struggle and plans to establish itself, Jalgaon based industrial area is witnessing boom time. MIDC’s all currently available land has now been fully occupied. As a result of this new willing industries are not able to get land for setup. MIDC currently has around 214 waiting applications for industrial, commercial and alike land requirements and hence it has started follow up with State for approval of new land. The proposed 250 hectares land would ease this waiting list and would allow more industries to setup in Jalgaon.
Another key reason of looking towards MIDC move for industrialists and traders is ample availability of power, lower cost of land and good infrastructural resources. MIDC currently avails industrial land at Rs. 500 per square meter, commercial land at Rs. 1,000 per square meters. City’s current real estate shoot up also has added to move towards industrial zone.

Earlier days of single telecom service provider and monopoly acts of service have totally fade up. Telecom growth has happened to be India’s second largest revolution after milk revolution. Jalgaon is equally enjoying this revolution in communication and is now blissed with host of mobile operators to offer various services. Jalgaon district now has Vodafone, Idea, Reliance (both GSM and CDMA), Airtel, BSNL, Tata Indicom, Virgin mobile and Tata Docomo. Presidential tour schedule altered – Airport inauguration now on 13th June:
Her Excellency President of India Pratibhatai Patil Jalgaon tour schedule has been altered. Earlier planned Jalgaon airport works inauguration on 12th June has now been extended to 13th June. Tour begins from 10th June at Dhule in morning and then to Jalgaon Government rest house in evening. She would visit Nadgaon and then inaugurate Bodwad irrigation project on 11th June. Corporation has also submitted its request for inauguration of waste recycling project and it is yet to receive final approval from President’s office.

Monsoon’s first shower bliss Khandesh:
The whole Khandesh region striving and facing intense summer heat has got a relief with pre-monsoon showering yesterday night. Chalisgaon, Jalgaon, Yaval, lasur (Chopda) had rain pouring along with some places at neighbouring Dhule district. Cyclonic winds and lightning along with raining killed two workers working in fields. Jalgaon city had raining for around 90 minutes. Raining begun at 9pm in evening and continued till late night. This raining would benefit upcoming season’s cultivation.

Maharashtra State Government has announced Pune Railway Police Superintendent Chandrakant Kumbhar to be new Superintendent of Police for Jalgaon district. Jalgaon S.P. post was vacated by transfer of earlier S.P. to R.A.W.

Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation has initiated measures to widen Court Chowk to Ganesh Colony road. Gold crosses Rs. 19,000 mark in national markets – Jalgaon jewellers keeps low:
Jalgaon jewellers yesterday marked contrast to national gold rates pattern and kept Gold rates at Rs. 18,700 per 10gms to that of 19,050 in Mumbai and other markets. Silver also crossed Rs. 30,000 per kg barrier. Usually Jalgaon Jewellers rate are based on national and international gold per ounce pricing and is around Rs. 250 higher than Mumbai market. Jewellers have quoted lower sales and more of buyback requirements as major reason of keeping price lower.
Jalgaon marks fourth consecutive victory in super league cricket competition:
MCA conducted Under-16 competition continues to mark excellence for Jalgaon cricket. Jalgaon boys defeated Next Academy Pune to mark their fourth consecutive victory. Jalgaon bated first and scored 183 runs which include Jagdish Zope’s valuable 51 along with Shivprasad Purohit’s 23 and Rohit Patel scoring 20. In response, Jalgaon bowled Pune Academy on mere 88 runs with Shivprasad Purohit and Satyavad Jadhav each taking 4 wickets and Jagdish Zope taking 2 wickets.

Violence in Raver – 9 injured:
Two groups smashed and clashed in yesterday evening turning violent and tensed situation at Raver. Violence began on grounds of teasing a girl and later turned to stone pelting and tussle in between. Police made firings in air to control mob. Nine people including 3 policemen and 2 home guards have been injured in incidence. Police has arrested two offenders and antisocial elements having initiated this violence.
