31st July:
Raining and flooding marks day in region:

Entire Jalgaon district witnessed rain showering for whole day yesterday. As a result of continued raining Hatnur dam’s 36 gates are opened. District has now recorded 52% rainfall as of 30th July and slower raining has benefited standing Kharip crop. District’s drinking water supplying dam are still dry following slower and less raining in dam areas. Bodwad Taluka is on top of raining records with 72% of its average rain received and Chalisgaon is with lowest with 34% yet. Girana dam region has also received medium to heavy raining.

Challenge trophy badminton competition begins today:
District badminton association is conducting Challenge trophy district level badminton competition in Jalgaon today. Competition has Under 9,11,13,16 and 19 years categories and participation of 264 players.

Subrato Mukhrjee football competition from 01st August:
District sports authority conducted Corporation and district level Subrato Mukhrjee inter-school/ women and players 2010-11 football competition is beginning on 01st August. Competition will have under-14 corporation level match on 01st August, under-14 rest of district matches on 02nd August, under-17 Corporation level on 03rd August and under-17 rest district matches on 04th August 2010. 30th July:
Viral infection spread continues – 161 more affected:

Jalgaon district has harder time on health front with continued spread of viral infection in spite of 5 days holidays made earlier. Yesterday on the reopening day of Schools, 161 more students have been reported to have this viral infection. This includes 39 from Jalgaon city’s L. N. High School, Raver, Balad, Samner, Mhasawad, Mangrul, Akulkheda and Pimpalgaon (Hareshwar).
Administration has now announced setting up of viral spreads control group on every Tahsil level. It has decided not to give more holidays and setup school level primary care centres. No clear reasons and only school students being target affected has raised anxiety in region. Citizens have urged administration to convey exact grounds of spread and control measures rather general cleanliness or likely announcements. It has ordered schools not to avail holiday without intimation and confirmation from administration and has called workshop of school heads to discuss this in details.

State level marathon competition preparations in final pace:
District athletics association is conducting Adv. Baheti memorial annual State level marathon is being conducted on 01st August. It expects participation of around 1,000 athletes in 21kms men, 5km school boys and girls and 10kms women category. It would be flagged at 8AM from Khwajamiya crossing.

29th July:
Schools to reopen from today:

Jalgaon district’s all schools are reopening today after administration announced holiday of 5 days following sudden spread of viral infection. Administration has announced keeping one health services personnel at every school to control outbreak, if any. Key challenge for administration is to get real implementation of measures in Corporation, Council and ZP owned governmental schools as most of cases reported until now are from this type of schools. This is first ever administrative action during epic and viral outbreak taken by administration and had full 100% implementation.

28th July:
Raining in Raver Taluka:

Raver Taluka region is witnessing heavy raining since last 2 days. As a result of this Taluka based all 4 dam namely Suki, Ambhora, Mangrul and Gangapuri have turned full and Suki and Bhokar Rivers are flooding. Taluka has recorded 425mm raining until now.

Jalgaon wins 4 silver and 6 bronze in state kick boxing:
Jalgaon team has won 4 silver and 6 bronze medals in Maharashtra Kick Boxing association and Ahmednagar Kick Boxing association jointly conducted State level competition. This includes Shahrukh Kazi, Bharat Tevar, Mayuresh Pillai and Hardik Chordia winning Silver and Dhaval Talele, Harshvardhan Patil, Bhavesh Patil, Roma Dahara, Shubham Mahajan and Mayuresh Bhole winning bronze medals.

27th July:
Viral infection spread – Mumbai team to submit report by next, Dhule team to come today:

Jalgaon district’s sudden spread viral infection was reviewed by team of Doctors from Mumbai from Saturday until Monday. The team reviewed all affected villages and collected various samples as required. This team would submit its report in next 3 days. Pollution control board Nashik unit has also taken samples of air in the affected village to analyse. This report would come by next week.
Today a group of 10-15 doctors from Dhule would arrive in Jalgaon for 3 days tour of all affected villages and analyse the situation. It would work in align with district health department.

Raining pleases Khandesh – flooding in Rangavali, Nesu Rivers:
Khandesh region witnessed third consecutive day of medium to heavy rainfall throughout all districts. Raining led to flooding in Rangavali River at Navapur and Nesu River at Taloda. Jalgaon city also had showering in intervals. Agricultural department has estimated around 94% crop cultivation completion in whole Khandesh.
Yaval Taluka remained on top of list with 52.6mm rainfall wherein Chalisgaon had no rains in two days. District has received total of 343mm rainfall until now. Please refer Monsoon 2010 section for details.

State Taekwondo competition in Jalgaon from 06th August:
District Taekwondo association and its Maharashtra units are jointly conducting 3 days State level 24th Sub-junior (under-14 boys and girls) Taekwondo competition from 06th August. Competition would have participation of teams with each district team having 12 boys, 12 girls, two trainers and two team managers. Jalgaon unit is hosting this State level competition for fourth time.

26th July:
Rain showering pleases whole Khandesh:

Whole Khandesh region witnessed full form of monsoon raining in form of continued rain showering beginning Saturday night. Both Jalgaon and Nandurbar had continued raining wherein Dhule had thunder shower intervals. Good showering form of raining has pleased climate and mercury has fallen down significantly. Raining throughout State has led to discontinuation of electricity load shedding plans and region is having most of uninterrupted electricity.
Amalner, Chopda, Raver, Yaval and Nandurbar had heavy raining wherein Dharangaon, Parola, Bhusawal, Muktai Nagar, Jalgaon areas had medium raining. Hatnur dam’s 14 gates have been opened to control water pressure. Waghur dam catchment area is still to witness good raining and as a result of this, dam still has no improvement in water storage level.

Jalgaon’s Jitendra selected for world T-20 tennis ball cricket:
Jalgaon based Dr. Jitendra Jain has been selected for upcoming World T-20 Tennis ball cricket competition. He has been selected for competition on basis of his performance in national level competition at Ajmer.

Meeting on Viral infection action plan:
Jalgaon district health authority yesterday conducted a review meeting of all Jalgaon Tahsil school head masters to evaluate situation. Meet urged all schools to introduce special cleanliness drives to enhance surrounding and move out this viral spread. It also focussed on need of educating parents, teachers on cleanliness habits and related aspects. District Collector would visit Schools by 29th to review situation. Every school has to appoint a fulltime doctor until this epic gets controlled.

24th July:
District administration closes all schools until 28th July:

Jalgaon district administration following sudden fast spreading viral infection has announced closing of all schools in district until 28th July 2010. This decision was announced amidst 30 students suddenly witnessing same viral infection in Jalgaon city’s Corporation run Choube School. All have been moved to hospitals. ZP Shirsoli School’s 19, Bodwad’s 5 and Harankhed based 10 students have also witnessed same infection yesterday. Until now total count has reached 450 students. It would introduce school checks beginning from 29th July until 31st July for conduct of cleanliness drive.
Administration has received Pune Lab report and this report has marked all sent samples to be negative for water-borne, blood specific viral infections. Administration has announced conducting wide spread cleanliness in every school following this outage and has also called a panel of doctors from Dhule for 4-days full survey of all affected places and submit its report to Administration.

Good monsoon raining pleases region:
Entire Jalgaon district witnessed good rainfall yesterday. Raining begun in afternoon and poured in many areas in evening. Authorities opened up 4 gates of Hatnur dam following heavy raining in Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha and continued raining here.

Jalgaon Janta Bank inaugurates its Kalyan branch today:
Jalgaon’s co-operative bank is spreading nicely with a descent growth note. Region’s leading co-operative bank Jalgaon Janta Co-operative Bank Ltd has spread its wings in Mumbai. Bank earlier had Thane and Fort branches and is now inaugurating Kalyan branch today. Bank now has around 550 Crores of deposits and loans worth 326 Crores.

Guru Pornima festivity preparation picks pace:
Entire region is gearing up its preparation for Guru Pornima festivity on Sunday, 25th July. Region’s Yaval based Mahrishi Vyas temple and other spiritual and religious Saints celebration of Guru Pornima. This temple has thousands of devotees visiting on this eve.

23rd July:
Viral infection spreads further – 125 more students turn down:

The banana zone begun viral infection has spread drastically in region with MuktaiNagar and Jamner based students caught yesterday. Both Tahsil schools have been immediately closed and administration has initiated cleanliness drive. This infection arouse on 15th July with 113 students caught at Nhavi and followed 136 more on next day in Yaval and then 130 in Raver followed by a fresh batch of 46 in Bhusawal Tahsil.
District administration and health departments are yet to take stringent actions on the same and MLA’s from region have taken this question in State assembly to have immediate action. Yaval, Raver, Chopda, Bhusawal, Jamner and MuktaiNagar based all government, semi-government, ZP, Councils and private schools have been closed for next 3 days until 25th July. All schools have been ordered for special cleanliness drives.

Police sports competition begins today:
District police conducted 3-days annual sports festivity is beginning today in Jalgaon. Event has around 215 Police men and women participation in various sports like volleyball, basketball, hockey, football, Kabbadi, ground boxing, Judo, wrestling, karate, racing, swimming and ball throwing competition. It would end on Sunday, 25th July with prize distribution.

Inter-divisional sports competition from 02nd August:
North Maharashtra University is hosting inter-divisional sports competition in Jalgaon from 02nd August until 23rd December. Competitions include various games like swimming, cross country, chess, badminton, table tennis, weight lifting, body building, Kho-Kho, Boxing, Kabbadi, Rifle shooting and various sports. All matches would be played in various NMU affiliated Colleges throughout Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar districts.

22nd July:
Banana rates dip down again following new inquiries:

Banana producers continue to feel heat and jolt following new set of actions and checks initiated by Food and Drug Department in Jaipur and Delhi. Department has expressed its concern on use of calcium carbonate in artificial quicker ripening of banana. As a result of this rates dipped down in local markets and touched Rs. 540 per quintal. District banana producers earlier rushed to ICAR for supportive conduit and this organisation has already clarified scientifically normal and no harm use of ethephon.

Amba-Rishi festivity in Amalner today:
Amalner based Amba Rishi temple trust is organising its annual Ashadhi Dvadashi festivity. The temple has ancient belief of eradicating poverty of devotees who take Darshanam bare foot. Saint Ambarish was devotee of Panduranga and he used to fast every Dvadashi and hence it is quoted that Pandurang liveliness is available every Dvadashi in Amalner.

Ashadhi Ekadashi festivity cheers region:

Whole region is celebrating auspicious eve of Ashadhi Ekadashi today. District’s all temples are lighting decorated and have various religious activities and enchanting. Many social organisations have gathered groups of school and college students to mark this auspicious eve with celebration in grounds. Many of devotees mark this day with fast and eat only after Rath Darshanam. Pimprala Rath festival is amongst one of key attractions and has participation of around 40,000 devotees every year.
Region’s ancient temples include Pimprala based Shivaji-times Vitthal temple (165 years earlier setup) lively temple, Sakharam Maharaj temple at Amalner, Pimpalgaon Hareshwar (Pachora) based 216 years traditional temple, God Trivikiram temple in Shendurni, Vitthal Rukmai temple at Nimb in Kalamsare (Amalner), Vitthal temple at Nizampur (Sakri) having 200 years tradition, Vitthal temple at Balade (Shirpur) having 175 years tradition and Saint Muktai temple at MuktaiNagar.

Raining delays trigger pain in region:
Jalgaon district still awaits rain pouring of this monsoon. Until now district had 295mm (42% of normal) rainfall and Bodwad is at top of chart with 63.2% raining and Jamner with lowest rain of mere 29.3%. District agricultural authority has reported completion of sowing for the season and has estimated 823,468 hectares land under cultivation in this season.

Viral infection spreads further in Bhusawal Taluka:
Yaval, Raver and Chopda Taluka begun sudden viral infection has spread further in Bhusawal Taluka. Authorities have reported 20 students at Varangaon and 26 at Varadsim having infected with this infection. Administration is yet to receive its earlier sent samples report from Pune lab and has initiated cleanliness measures. It has estimated excessive use of chlorine in drinking water supplies and larger quantity of fumigation controls sprayed in public places as primary reasons of this viral infection.

20th July:
Pimprala Rath festivity tomorrow:

Jalgaon district’s second Pandharpur, Pimprala Rath festivity is being organised tomorrow on eve of Ashadhi Ekadashi. Festivity key attraction is various religious enchanting, programmes throughout the day with worshipping. This festivity’s Prasadam is of 3.50 quintals. Rath would pass through old village Panchayat building, Bhilwada, Madhi Chowk, Shivaji Chowk, Gandhi Chowk, Maruti temple and back by evening 8pm.

Viral infection continue to spread further:
Few days back started sudden viral infection in Bhusawal division has spread further in Raver and Adavad. Raver and Adavad based 130 school students witnessed sudden infection and all have been admitted to hospitals. Administration is yet awaiting its earlier sent report analysis and its laze has spread rage in citizens. As an immediate measure, administration has announced holidays for school until further announcement. Earlier epic spread was also in same banana belt at Nhavi, Bhalod, Padalse, Anjale and Dongarkathora.

District’s 75 Village Panchayat to undergo election on 22nd August:
State Election commission has announced schedule for election of 75 Village Panchayat in district whose tenure is ending in duration from 01st until 11th September 2010. Election code of conduct and notification would be from 23rd July followed by acceptance of nominations from 02nd until 07th August, scrutiny on 09th August, last date of withdrawal of forms as 11th August and actual voting on 22nd August from 7.30am until 5.30pm. Votes counting is on 23rd August with immediate results.

ICAR confirms use of Ethephon in banana ripening as safe:
Indian agricultural research council (ICAR) has confirmed use of Ethephon in artificial ripening of banana as safe for human use. This report has been confirmed on grounds of last month initiated food and drugs department action in Northern Indian and Gujarat on traders. This sudden action caused huge losses to banana producers in region as their large quantity of banana remained unsold following this action.

India wins gold in Asian roll ball competition:
Indian roll ball skating team has won Asian roll ball skating competition conducted at Hongkong defeating host team by 5-2. The Indian team included Jalgaon player Aditya Purushottam Khachane and he demonstrated excellent skills in the competition. Jalgaon sports academy and Corporation honoured him with gold medal with his arrival yesterday.

19th July:
Banana rate touches Rs. 672 per quintal:

After a fortnight of woes in North Indian banana traders on-going food and drug department checks and decreased mango in market, Jalgaon district’s banana is in full demands again. Banana prices shoot up by Rs. 75 yesterday to reach Rs. 672 per quintal rate. Earlier rates touched Rs. 525 on 16th July and had no demands from northern India.

Khandesh chess competition ends in Jalgaon:
District chess association and Jain sports academy jointly conducted Khandesh level Chess competition ended yesterday. Competition awarded Rs. 10,000 cash prizes, 20 learn chess books, 18 sets of chess game kits, 32 memento and awarded certificates to all 264 participating players. Pratik Patil won open category wherein Divya Jain and Rupesh Wankhede won under-17, Neha Mudliyar and Bhavesh Kahane won under-14, Anjali Patil and Aniket Shirode won under-12 and Smruti Agrawal and Dhruv Kabra won under-9 category competition.

18th July:
Discussion meet on Jalgaon vision 2020:

Indian Institute of Architects and Malhar Jalgaon jointly organised Jalgaon vision 2020 discussion turned multi-coloured yesterday. Meet had participation of ruling party members, city Mayor, Commissioner and district MLA. Various dignitaries presented their views on blocks on growth of Jalgaon in spite of best geography and hard-working resources. Rulers expressed their woes of deferred treatment from State governments, lower and no support on various roll outs, lower financial assistance and laze of bureaucracy on not triggering desired growth as key hindrances in Jalgaon city’s growth. It also sung its demand of removing Octroi and termed municipal councils need in less than 10 Lakh population cities as must. It has expressed its need of 4,800 Crores from government grants to do major revamp in infrastructural resources like new water supplies lines laying, underground drainage, setting up plastic park, tourism promotion centre on Mehrun lake, flyover and space walk in city.
Administration played its LBT music and urged traders to co-operate by filling full tax dues and assist in city growth. Other dignitaries expressed setting up solar projects in Jalgaon seeing its hot climate, need of focussed approach to catalyse logistics and explained instances of Gujarat and Chandigarh growths on the eve.
Region needs more of such meets to arrive at real focussed discussions on core topics of infrastructural growth enhancement, introducing trade and industrial friend government interactions to avail more of entrepreneur and employment opportunities, evaluating real practical situation and taking advantage of self-grown educational institutions and formulating action plan to introduce intense follow up through its national level and top positioned political icons for speedy and constant growth and availing more of central/ State projects in district and stepping one step above party and caste influenced politics.

Heavy rainfall reported in Yaval, Raver and Bhusawal:
Jalgaon district’s Yaval, Raver, MuktaiNagar, Bodwad and Bhusawal Tahsil witnessed heavy rain pouring yesterday night. Raining has led to water logging in many down sider areas and has affected normal life. Bhogwati River witnessed flooding and had two animals drown in it. Suki, Ambhora and Mangrul dams have turned full following continued medium raining in last fortnight and few other dams are at 50% storage level. Jalgaon district till now has received 275mm raining.

17th July:
Heavy raining in Jalgaon and Bhusawal:

Jalgaon city and Bhusawal division witnessed rain pouring yesterday evening. Climate remained cloudy since morning and turned pouring by evening time. This continued raining has eased mercury and chill can now be witnessed in climate. Bhusawal, MuktaiNagar, Raver, Yaval, Faizpur and Savda also had raining. Prolonged good raining has cheered whole district.

Viral infection to school students panics parents:
Bhusawal region based Nhavk, Bhalod, Padalsa, Dongarkathora, Anjale and a few neighbouring places schools children witnessed sudden viral infection to around 136 school students. This infection led to unconsciousness and stomach discomfort and as a result educational institutions in these villages have been closed for few days. District administration and ZP have sent blood and urine samples of infected students to laboratory for further analysis and have initiated cleanliness drives.

16th July:
Rain pouring in Chalisgaon:

Chalisgaon Tahsil witnessed rain pouring yesterday evening around 8pm. Raining was largely in Chalisgaon, Varkhede, Mehunbare, Bahal, Khedgaon and neighbouring areas. Jalgaon city also had rain showering during evening time. Region still wait good raining.

Shivsena conducted Marathon competition on 25th July:
Shivsena district unit is conducting Maha-Marathon on eve of its anniversary day on 25th July in Jalgaon. The Marathon would be of 21kms from Shivsena city office to Shirsoli and return. It attracts open and school categories and has first price of Rs. 11,000 + trophy, second prize of Rs. 7,000 + trophy, third prize of Rs. 5,000 + trophy and consolation prize of Rs. 1,000 for open category. School category has first prize of Rs. 5,000 + trophy, second prize of Rs. 3,000 + trophy, third prize of Rs. 2,000 + trophy and Rs. 500 consolation prize. 15th July:
Discussion on Jalgaon vision on 17th July:

Jalgaon district branch of Indian Institute of Architects in association with Malhar communications has prepared Jalgaon vision 2020 action plan based on Jalgaon’s current identity. This plan evaluates progress aspect of Jalgaon as compared to its accompanying cities like Nashik and Aurangabad and their current growth stats. The seminar cum discussion debate is being organised on Saturday, 17th July at JDCC bank hall and it will have detailed discussion with active participation of Ruling Corporation members and district MLA.
Meet aims at co-ordinating citizens and administrative authorities on various proposed plans, needs and growth aspects and would broadly discussion coming 10 year’s action plan and its needed funds and visions at having well planned and structured growth based Jalgaon city.

FYJC admission process from 16th July:
Jalgaon district educational authority has announced completing FYJC (Class XI) admission process from 16th until 04th August 2010. Process would begin with form filling from 16th until 20th and follow merit listing on 23rd July and admissions on 27th July. This would follow 31st July as process beginning for vacant seats and 04th August as final date for admissions.

Jalgaon’s Aditya Khachne to participate in Asian Roll ball championship:

Corporation – Traders’ joint meeting on LBT issues:

Jalgaon city trader’s confederation and Corporation yesterday had a joint meeting to discuss various issues in LBT filling and collection. Various traders presented their issues and LBT rate aspect to that of earlier Octroi and urged Corporation to clarify on the same. Corporation administration urged traders to file full returns and help it in achieving revenue target of 5.31 Crores. It has assured traders of reduction in tax rates after this target achievement. Traders requested Corporation not to create media panic by continuing surveys and spread anti-trade notions in print media and also urged Corporation to follow trade friendly approach to achieve best revenue collection.

God idol stolen in Balaji temple Parola – devotees violent turnout closes city:
District’s Tirupati Balaji clone Balaji temple yesterday witnessed theft of God Balaji mixed metal idol having gold, silver and diamonds decoration amounting to 1.50 Lakhs. This theft incidence took place in morning around 4.30AM and it raged devotees. A group of protestors closed whole Parola city as protest and turned violent. It destructed 13 standing buses and 4 vehicles on highway to mark its anger on police administration. Protestors blocked Dhule highway for around 4 hours. District Police has arrested 3 in connection. Situation is now in control and city normal life has resumed.

Corporation General body meeting review:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation general body met yesterday to discuss 22 proposals on agenda. It has approved availing concession in JMTU ecobus service to students, free fighters and handicapped persons, rejected availing compensation against the same and has allowed conditional opening up of stalls at bus stops. It has also approved acquiring earlier city bus stand land from State owned MSRTC. This resolution has now been sent to State for approval. District banana producers faces jolt following on-going checking in Northern India:

Jalgaon district’s large quantity of banana is lying in farms following on-going checks by Food and Drug department in Northern India on grounds of use of chemicals in quicker ripening of banana and other chemicals which is injurious to health. Report further reveals use of Ethephon to quickly ripen. As a result of this action district’s around 4,000 tonnes of banana is lying in farms and there are no orders to execute. Earlier daily shipment of railways 40-42 wagons has turned to 3-4 days alternate. Local markets rate have also fallen sharply following huge inflow.

Tapi Birth festivity celebration today at Nimgavhan:
Sun daughter Tapi River annual birth festivity is beginning today on eve of Ashadh Shukla Pratipada. The uninterrupted week long enchanting would continue until 17th July and would also have various religious activities. Trade confederation and Corporation to tussle on LBT:

Corporation’s newly initiated LBT is in furry and spreading panic in trading community. Corporation started surveys of various trading shops and establishment on non-filling of LBT and has even announced stopping entries of goods vehicles having no LBT registered trader’s goods. Trade confederation met yesterday to discuss its stand on such sudden non-trade friendly approach and actions against traders. In spite of more than 70% revenue achievement, Corporation is hassling to send notices against non-registered dealers wherein the LBT regulation has this action after 6 months of a year period.
Biggest panic for traders is its announced rate for LBT. The other two Corporations having LBT in effect are Nanded and Meera-Bhainder and both have lower than Jalgaon rates. Pulses LBT rate is more than that of Octroi rate earlier and so is woe with gold and precious jewellery. Administration and ruling parties have not taken traders in confidence on the tax rate. Tussle is likely to intense further with no open communication being invited by Corporation and ruling party with trade confederations.

District’s 789 students receive sports additional marks:
Jalgaon district’s 789 students having sports as allied activity and having participated in various district/ state/ national and international levels have received 25 additional marks in this year result. The State board for secondary and higher secondary education registered 256 players in various district level competition and 533 players in various academies organised competitions for year 2009-10. Sports considered in this eligibility include all played in Jalgaon region apart from Cricket.

District’s 276 villages in Nirmal Gram competition for this year:

Jalgaon district’s 276 villages have prepared themselves for participating in total cleanliness aimed Nirmal Gram competition run by State government. All these villages would undergo inspection by central team in next month. Earlier Bornar (Bhadgaon) won award in 2005-06, Devgaon – Devli, Mehergaon (Amalner) and Chalisgaon based Damrun, Madni (Jamner), Chinchol (MuktaiNagar) and Mangalwadi (Raver) along with Navre (Yaval) won in 2006-07. This award winning figure rose to 60 in 2007-08 and had 31 winners in 2008-09. District’s 68 villages participated in this drive last year and this year’s count itself has cheered good award winning hopes.

District chess association is conduct open Khandesh level two days chess competition in Jalgaon from 17th July. Corporation earns 2 Crores LBT:

Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation after initiating its survey on LBT collection has received uplift in tax collection and has received around 2 Crores revenue in mere first 10 days of July. Corporation has announced checking vehicles and blocking entries of non-tax players from Monday. It has surveyed 15 major traders until now and has urged traders to co-operate in revenue process.

Mumbai wins inter-district football competition:
Dhule district association and Corporation jointly conducted inter-district football competition ended yesterday with lucky Mumbai defeating Nagpur in finals. Rain pouring did not let this match execute and as a result of toss winning pattern, Mumbai was announced winner. Nagpur has received runner up followed by Amravati. Mumbai’s Salin Francisco won man of the series award with 9 goals with Vaughn Joseph as best goal keeper, Nagpur’s Ravindra Kanojiya as best forward and Amravati’s Javed Shaikh as Best defender.

Madhukarrao Chaudhari passes away:
Jalgaon’s senior political icon Madhukarrao Dhanaji Chaudhari, an ex-minister in State died yesterday following cardiac arrest at age of 82 years. He has served community through various profiles for more than 50 years and today’s 10+2+3 education system is one of his devised pattern during his tenure as State education minister and this pattern has revolutionised education in whole Country. He actively worked to promote Hindi language and has chaired National Hindi organisation for years and was awarded for this year’s Hindi Ratna award. His large contribution to district includes struggle for Khandesh mill employees post closure and getting various water storage dam in district which largely serve district these days for drinking water supplies.

Corporation mania for revenue growth:

Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation ruling party has proposed selling of Corporation’s city’s main point locations owned land to enhance its revenue side. It has submitted proposal request to administration urging that most of educational institutions having Corporation land awarded earlier are earning from their activities in the land and hence rather keeping this land as awarded administration should sell off at market rates. This revenue addition would significantly help Corporation in managing its finances. Administration has earlier issued notices to all land awarded organisations to respond back and give back land if organisations are not using this land for social purposes as meant for.

Axis Bank and Indian Overseas opens Bhusawal branch:
Jalgaon district continue to be most favoured banking destination for private, nationalised and co-operative banks. India’s one of fast growing private banker Axis Bank has opened up its Bhusawal branch beginning today. This would be bank’s 1044th branch and is equipped with ATM, internet banking and all amenities. It is located on Jamner road. Bank earlier has Jalgaon city and Chalisgaon branches.
Indian overseas bank also opened up its Bhusawal branch yesterday on Jamner road and has announced host of facilities for its consumers.

Madhukarrao Chaudhari honoured with Hindi Ratna award:
Jalgaon district’s senior political icon and Maharashtra legislative council’s ex-chairperson Madhukarrao Chaudhari has been nominated for this year’s Hindi Ratna Award by All India Hindi Organisation New Delhi. The award comprises of Rs. 1 Lakh cash, memento and certification and is award for his excellent services to the organisation and Hindi literary promotion.

NMU to revamp itself for student facilitation:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has accepted certain amendments in its student related services handling after tussle with student unions on its delayed and unorganised methodologies of result and alike service processing. NMU is announcing various streams result from 22nd June and still has many results left in spite of 45 days result announcement rule. Moreover result sheet are not yet available to students in spite of more than 7 days passed to its website publishing the same result. Many of result sheets have mistaken and erroneous printing troubling students for admission ahead.
It has announced opening up of student assistance cell in University main building and this centre would note all complaints related to exams. Corporation to initiate inbound goods vehicles checking for LBT:
Jalgaon city Municipal Corporation has announced its plan to open 3 vehicle check points on city limits entry to check all inbound goods vehicles for LBT filed status for respective trader. It continued its survey of various traders in city for third consecutive day. It has appointed Axis Bank and HDFC Bank in addition to Allahabad Bank for easing LBT payments.

Strike paralyses life in Khandesh:

The opposition parties called nationwide strike yesterday paralysed routine life in whole Khandesh region. Almost all markets, establishments, trading zones remained calm in Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar districts. Non availability of Auto rickshaws equally panic parents for schools drop and commuting in city. A violent group of protestors damaged 4 buses of State transport, stopped buses transporting for around 2 hours at Bodwad and attempted stopping railways at Jalgaon. Strike has caused losses worth 500 Crores turnover for Jalgaon.

Public works department proposes 48kms ring road from city outskirts:
Maharashtra State public works department has proposed 48kms new ring road from city outskirts and the proposal is in final stage of approval. The new circular look ring road will have Paldhi, Dongaon, Fupnagari, Mamurabad, Tarsod, Nashirabad, Manyarkheda, Kusumba, Mohadi, Takarkheda and Paldhi villages based connectivity. It will be State highway and would cross over existing National highway#6 at two locations. It would reduce accidents in Jalgaon city and reduce traffic and equally benefit Taluka level commuters for direct reach without crossing Jalgaon city.
Proposal has gone to State for approval and would take 3-4 month time for final nod. This would follow survey, mapping and land acquisition and then actual tendering process to begin work. Political push and follow up could speed up the same and actual highway can come in reality in a year or two year time.

On-going district football association conducted inter-district football competition would witness semi-final rounds beginning today. Yesterday Mumbai defeated Aurangabad by 3-0 and Amravati defeated Jalna by 9-1. Semis would witness tougher fights from today with all teams of equal experienced players.

Nationwide strike today – strike to affect normal trade and life:

The opposition parties called nationwide strike today is affecting normal life in region. As a result of strike and protest by various parties, major trade zones are closed today and there is no movement of auto rickshaws in city. Auto Rickshaw unions have supported the strike and have decided not to take their rickshaws on the road today. This strike protests central Government’s recent hike of fuel prices and LPG. Niranjankumar Sudhanshu to join today as District Collector:
Jalgaon’s newly appointed district Collector Niranjankumar Sudhanshu is taking district collector charge today. He was earlier working as General Manager of State minerals Corporation at Nagpur. He aims at availing citizen focussed services and has termed citizen services on top priority. Niche understanding of district political mix up, bureaucratic layers and making fine balance of both to achieve growth lines are most critical challenges for him ahead.

Showering rain pleases region:

After a long span of dry days, region has finally started witnessing monsoon showers. District witnessed rain showering beginning yesterday evening through all the areas. Neighbouring Madhya Pradesh districts also had good rainfall and as a result of this Hatnoor dam’s 4 gates have been opened to control water pressure. Region had raining for two hours yesterday night and it later continued in showers. Meteorological department has estimated thunder showers to heavy rain in district in coming 24 hours and climate is fully clouded.

District gets 48 Crores under Education for All Drive:
Jalgaon district has received hefty grants of 48.50 Crores for academic  year 2010-11 under education for all drive. This amount is 14 Crores additional as compared to last year’s 34.17 Crores and aims to facilitate ZP schools with various equipment, amenities and facilities. This include 9.97 Crores for books, 16.93 Crores for school classroom construction, 2.13 Crores for handicapped student education, 1.80 Crores for maintenance and repair works of schools and 83.41 Lakhs for public representatives’ values education.

Devgiri urban co-operative bank clicks Jalgaon:

Marathwada region’s leading co-operative bank Devgiri urban co-operative bank having head quarter at Aurangabad has received reserve bank of India approval to initiate Jalgaon branch. Bank has initiated its process of searching for city location admeasuring around 2,000 sq. ft. on ground floor and would soon proceed with rest of formalities. New district collector to join on Monday:
Jalgaon district collector Kunal Kumar Bishnoi has been transferred as Collector to Aurangabad with immediate effect. He took Jalgaon Collectorate charge in May-2008 and had Khandesh festival and Presidential second tour as two major projects handled. His earlier Collector also had transfer after first presidential tour of Jalgaon. He would now be replaced by Niranjan Sudhanshu, an IAS officer from year 2000 batch and would join on Monday.
