30th September:
Assembly elections 2009 - multi-candidate fight in most of constituencies:

This election's candidature selection has resulted in multiple candidates and rivals fighting in every constituency. Most have three/ four candidates in fray. Amalner, Raver and Sindhkheda have rebels in fray while in many other locations they have withdrawn nomination. Candidature list has Raver and Bhusawal on top with 16 candidates each followed by Amalner with 15 candidates and Sakri, Shahada each with 14 candidates. Jalgaon district now has 123 candidates in election with 5 ladies candidate and 7 existing MLA fighting for seat. Khandesh has total of 209 candidates. This elimination and final listing would now trigger campaigning to fullest extent.

Chopda sugar factory boiler inauguration on 01st October:
Chopda co-operative sugar factory is inaugurating its season's boiler on Thursday, 01st October. Factory expects good yield this season with monsoon raining balancing crop produces in Monsoon end.

Jaihind College Dhule wins Baheti trophy debating competition:
Adv. Baheti memorial state level debating competition ended yesterday with Dhule based Jaihind College winning it. Competition had 30 college's 60 students' participation. Kopergaon based S. S. G. M. College won second prize and Nagar based New Arts, Commerce College won third prize. Nutan Institute of Management students won individual category prize. First prize was Rs. 3,000 Cash and trophy followed by Rs. 2,000 Cash and memento for second prize.

Private cotton buying begins in region:
This season's private cotton buying has begun with Muhurat rate of Rs. 2,625 per quintal. Farmers await government buying announcement and likely rate of Rs. 3,000 to 3,500 following lower crop this season due to lesser raining and infection at the end of Monsoon.

29th September:
District co-operative depositors to register negative voting:

Jalgaon district's around 90,000 co-operative depositors have met yesterday and decided to register negative voting in upcoming assembly election on purview of dozing state of politicians not making any solid concern on situation. Every political party and leader kept issue untouched and made no effort to raise this issue to highest concern. Almost 600 Crores of deposits has blocked due to ailing state of co-operative societies on grounds of allegations in loans distribution. Co-operative department, state government and local governance failing to strengthen measures to protect deposits has made situation more painful.
Depositors committee has urged every depositor to fill form#17 with respective booth in-charge to register its feeling of not voting due to lack of suitable candidature. If this negative votes count raises above 1,001 then election is cancelled and candidate once nominated cant file nomination again.

28th September:

Cyclonic winds damages standing banana and Jwar crop in Raver:
Raver taluka and rest of region witnessed sudden cyclonic winds flow on Sunday evening followed by heavy raining for around 30 minutes. This has led to severe damages to standing banana, cotton and Jwar crops in taluka. Wind pressure has caused fall of many large trees and disrupted electricity supplies. Jalgaon city, Chalisgaon taluka, Amalner and faizpur also witnessed medium raining.

Lightning caused fire in BTPS - Half district in dark:
Deepnagar based Bhusawal thermal power station witnessed lightning fall yesterday evening. This led to fire in switch yard transformer section discontinuing electricity production in two units having 275MW capacity. As a result district's half area turned into dark. Authorities estimate losses of around 24 Lakhs due to this fire.

27th September:
Assembly elections nomination scrutiny:

District administration yesterday scrutinised all received nomination forms for assembly election 2009. This has revealed 13 invalid and 92 valid nominations in Dhule, 7 invalid and 82 valid in Nandurbar and 232 valid and 30 invalid entries for Jalgaon. With this scrutiny now there are 406 total nominations in 20 assembly constituencies in Khandesh. List includes MuktaiNagar on top with 7 invalid/ incomplete nominations and Jalgaon rural with no invalid entry. Nomination withdrawal process began yesterday afternoon and would end on Tuesday, 29th September. Until now 4 in Jalgaon and one in Dhule have withdrawn their forms.
Scrutiny has also revealed every candidate's wealth profile and background. This has revealed Jalgaon candidate on top followed by Dhule on second position. This assessment has current and fixed assets and land owned comparison amongst candidates.

Dasra festivity preparations in full pace:
District is in full pace preparations for joyous celebration of Dasra festivity on Monday, 28th September. Festivity's key annual attraction of Ravana effigy burning by Panchamukhi Hanuman Mandal is held at Mehrun lake Chowpatty area. The 41 feet digital Ravana effigy would burn celebration marking victory of pious on evil attempts begins at 6pm.

26th September:
Monsoon 2009 - mere 73% rainfall until now:

Jalgaon district has an average Monsoon rainfall this season. It has received 511.7mm raining (73%) of its average rainfall during whole season. This includes Chopda on top of table with 109% raining and Jamner on bottom with 54% rain. Farmers still wait desperate pouring for Rubby season cultivation. Parola, Pachora and Bhadgaon taluka have around 64% rainfall while Erandol, Amalner, Chalisgaon, Jalgaon, Dharangaon, Bodwad, MuktaiNagar and Yaval are also on medium levels.

Assembly elections nomination filling ends - 442 candidates for 20 seats in Khandesh:
Desire to lead political profile and multiple nomination fillings led to whopping count of 442 nomination forms in 20 seats in Khandesh. This amounts to around 25 seats per constituency in primary picture. It includes 273 nominations in Jalgaon district's 11 constituencies, 113 from 5 constituencies in Dhule and 56 from 4 constituencies in Nandurbar.
Nomination scrutiny is being conducted today and exact picture would be clear by 29th September after nomination scrutiny and last date of withdrawal getting over. Candidates would have today's 3 hours and Tuesday's working hours totalling to 8.30 hours to decide on withdrawal. This filling has also given faint picture of rebels filling nominations as independent candidates in Shahada - Taloda, Nandurbar, Amalner, Jalgaon rural and Chalisgaon constituencies.

Maha-Yagna at Manudevi temple:
Satpuda resident and Khandesh family deity Manudevi's special Maha-Yagna on eve of Navratri festivity is beginning from today. This festivity continues for 10-12 days and has huge inflow of devotees from across State and neighbouring Madhya Pradesh. Nature's bliss, lake and lush green surrounding make this religious/ pilgrimage more of tourist place.

25th September:
Nomination filling process in full pace - ends today:

Jalgaon district administration has received total of 129 nominations from 74 candidates. This includes yesterday's 93 nominations from 58 candidates. Today is last day for filling nominations and this would lead to hefty rush in Tahsil offices. MuktaiNagar is on top of table with 14 nominations followed by Chopda with 13 and Bhusawal with 12 nominations.

Mercury heats up in Bhusawal:
Humid climatic conditions and rising heat has raised concerns to whole district. Bhusawal has recorded 41 degrees temperature yesterday. This is highest temperature for the September month recorded in this season. It led to uneasiness and harsh afternoons added with scheduled daily power cuts of 8 hours in urban and 16 hours in rural areas.

Election observers arrive in district:
State Election commission appointed observers are arriving today in district for monitoring of assembly election process code of conduct. Team has 11 observers each one to stay at respective constituency government rest house. Administration has urged citizens to communicate with these observers for any of election related process.
Observer's contact numbers are 9403686311-20 for Raver, Bhusawal, Jalgaon city, Jalgaon rural, Amalner, Erandol, Chalisgaon, Pachora, Jamner and MuktaiNagar respectively.

Indian softball team training camp in Jalgaon:
Indian girl's team to participate in Asian softball competition from 12th until 18th October at Malaysia would undergo training camp in Jalgaon from 03rd until 12th October. Maharashtra State softball association is in efforts to get year 2010 Asian softball competition host likely at Nagpur, Aurangabad or Jalgaon.

24th September:
Swine flu in Dhule - District's 4 taluka on alert:

Jalgaon district health authorities have trigger red alert in district's 4 taluka neighbouring to Dhule on swine flu spread. It has reported Swine flu positive case in Amalner. It would now initiate screen test in rural hospitals in these taluka namely Chalisgaon, Chopda, Parola and Amalner. District health authority has examined around 3,000 patients for swine flu detection until now and has sent 13 samples. Until now only 2 cases have been termed swine flu positive and both have cured to timely medication.

Assembly election nomination filling and candidature announcement triggers rebel:
BJP, Shivsena, NCP and now Congress-I have announced their first list of possible candidates for upcoming assembly elections. With nomination filling process verging towards end, this list has raised rebels feeling amongst many parties. Earlier settled candidates not getting second chance and/ or established tycoons' not getting opportunities have flagged their candidature as independent candidates. This includes Chalisgaon, Erandol, Amalner, Bhusawal and Raver constituencies. Many have opposed their party seniors on announced list. Overall this election is going to be one of most exercised polling with many rebels out to snatch voters.
Parties would now begin second phase of listing candidates today to arrive at final state. District administration has received total of 43 nominations from 21 candidates until now. This includes Amalner on top with 10 nominations from 3 candidates followed by Pachora with 7 nominations and Jalgaon rural having 6 nominations.

Jalgaon secures second rank in divisional Taekwondo:
Jalgaon district has achieved 21 gold, 14 silver and 9 bronze medals in divisional inter-school taekwondo competition played at Nashik. District has secured second rank in competition played in Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 category.

23rd September:
Swine flu pandemic - Dhule administration announces schools/ colleges closure until 30th September:

Dhule district has hardest time amidst assembly election announcement. Dhule city's two school's 13 students have been found swine flu positive yesterday. This has triggered district administration to immediately announce closure of all educational institutions including private tuitions from playgroups to HSC until 30th September 2009.
Administration has urged citizens not to panic and support its drive to eradicate this epidemic. Dhule district now has 52 swine flu positive patients and whopping sudden rise in count has raised administration attention. 32 out of 52 affected are school going students.

Humid climate discomforts living:
Sunday rain pouring followed humid and heating climate on Monday and Tuesday. Climatic conditions gave feeling and need of more pouring. This made afternoon times harsh to live with no winds flowing around. Climate still is same with region expecting more of rain this month end.

Assembly elections 2009 - 14 nominations filed:
Assembly elections nomination filling picked pace on fifth day. Khandesh had total of 14 nominations filed yesterday which includes 7 from Jalgaon, 6 from Dhule and 1 from Nandurbar. Process continues for next 3 days. Most of senior politicians and likely fighting candidates are filling nominations today.

JDCC bank extends tissue culture banana cultivation loan limits:
District's apex co-operative bank has enhanced loan limits for tissue culture based banana cultivation. It would now avail loans for 2.50 hectares land to that of earlier 1.50 hectares. It has also availed state guaranteed soft loans of 2.50 Crores each to Madhukar and Chopda co-operative sugar factories. Bank has also availed 3.25 Crores loan to Chopda urban bank.

BJP - Shivsena alliance member Shivsena has announced its first list of candidates for upcoming assembly election. Election has all expected figures nominated for fighting election from Jalgaon district. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has also announced its first list of candidates. Meanwhile nomination filling process would take Pace today and would continue throughout week.

Amalner's Ashutosh Patil in State team:
Amalner player Ashutosh Patil has qualified in State Under-16 team through qualifying matches conducted at Akola. This team would participate in Under-16 national competition. This qualifying competition had Mumbai team winning along with Aurangabad as runner up and Nashik securing third position.

State handball competition - Mumbai wins:
State inter-school handball competition in under-14 category ended yesterday with Mumbai boys and girls winning respective categories. Pune won boys runner up and Kolhapur won girls runner up award. Competition was organised by district amateur handball association in support with district sports council.

21st September:
Khandesh Deity Darshan - Empowered hub of energy and devotion - Saptashringi Deity:

Goddess Saptashringi temple located in Vani of Nashik district is deemed half religious place of Maharashtra's three and half such locations and overall 51 in rest. Temple is located in Sahyadri hills east-west hilly range at 4,500 feet high from sea levels. Location has lush green natural surrounding and beauty.
Ancient literature suggests Deity arriving here after killing evil Mahishasur. Temple has 500 steps to enter and get blessings. Deity's this idol has 18 hands. Temple committee organises festivity twice a year. Navratri festivity begins on Ashwin Shukla Pratipada and continues till Kojagiri Pornima midnight with Mahapooja on 12pm.

Monsoon rain pour in Jalgaon:
Jalgaon city yesterday evening witnessed sudden arrival of monsoon rain pour continued for around an hour. Raining had huge wind flow along with lightning. Sudden raining disrupted electricity supplies throughout city. Wind flow led to fall of old trees paralysing routine traffic on roads. This also disturbed Dandiya celebrations at major locations. Jalgaon city is witnessing irregular power cuts and load shedding since last week.

Political movements heats up for candidature finalisation:
All political parties have geared up final state preparation for candidates finalisation for respective alliance locations. Last whole week had many rounds of talks in alliance members to finalise seat sharing. District administration opening up assembly election nomination filling process has stirred this first with candidates and Tahsil offices full of activities.
BJP candidate's first listing would now follow Shivsena announcing its candidature and then Congress and NCP doing this. Many established leaders not getting tickets could lead to crossover of established and existing elected candidates.

Jalgaon players shine in national shooting competition:
Jalgaon shooters have shown remarkable performance in 13th Inter-school All India shooting competition played in Meerut. Jalgaon district rifle association member Tillotama Shinde secured 298 out of 400 points in 0.177 open sight air rifle category in junior ladies and secures silver medal. Ninad Chaudhari secured 305 of 400 points in same air rifle competition and secured forth rank.

Khandesh Deity Darshan - Bijasani Devi - Natural lush green lively temple:

Goddess Bijasani Devi temple is located on north of Shirpur near Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh border on Mumbai - Agra highway. Swine flu spreads further in Dhule:
Dhule city's 6 more students have been identified as swine flu positive patients. This includes 5 boys and a girl from convent schools in city. This has taken total count to 31. Until now only one patient has died of this flu in Dhule.

Khandesh region comprising of Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar has recorded sales of 233 forms in all on first day of nomination filling process beginning. This includes 189 in Jalgaon, 20 in Dhule and 24 in Nandurbar districts. None of candidates filled form yesterday following day being Sarvapitri Amawasya.
List includes 17 from Jalgaon, 13 in Amalner, 8 in Chopda, 12 in Erandol, 6 in Pachora, 30 in Chalisgaon, 46 in Bhusawal, 19 in Raver, 3 in Jamner and 21 in MuktaiNagar taluka.

Assembly elections nomination filling begins today:
Maharashtra State assembly elections nomination filling process is beginning today. Nomination filling is being conducted at respective Tahsil office. Process would end by 25th September followed by scrutiny on 26th and 29th as last date of withdrawing nominations. Voting is on 13th October and counting on 22nd October.

Chalisgaon people's bank to merge in Chikhli urban bank:
Co-operative sector mergers and acquisitions continues throughout State. Chikhli urban bank from Buldhana district has initiated merger with financially weed Chalisgaon People's Co-operative Bank Ltd. Bank general body has approved this merger.
RBI earlier put ban on Chalisgaon people's for execution of transactions followed increased NPA and lower recoveries leading to cash crunch. Region's earlier announced and general body approved co-operative mergers of Jalgaon Merchant's Bank and Nahata Bank Bhusawal is still to show functional result. Both bankers are still in qualifying state of approval from RBI for compliances and maintaining norms.

Leva spoken language Kadambari 'Burjhvagaman' having farmer woes and stories is being picturised in 100 minutes movie. Movie shot taking is beginning from Ghatasthapana on 19th September at Dambhurni. This Kadambari has been written by Divakar Chaudhari and film is named same as Kadambari. It has most of coverage on farmer's and farming related factors and highlights on various co-relations on government policies and measures.

Administration gears up for assembly election:

District administration has geared up its machinery for fullest role in smooth conduct of whole election process. Nomination filling process is from 18th September. Administration yesterday conducted training of 340 election sector officers and supportive team. It has also trained them on availing electoral roll at home.

Raver and MuktaiNagar taluka having cyclonic winds on 14th September. This has mounted losses worth 28 Lakhs to standing banana, Jwar, corn and other crops. Administration conducted losses assessment yesterday. It has reported losses to 70 farmers in Raver and MuktaiNagar.

District mat business shines in India:

Jalgaon district has established its renown in PP mats production with capacity of around 125,000 mats per day. Jalgaon has around 80 mat producing factories and this industry has witnessed good time in last 5 years. District also has 8 mats manufacturing machinery production units and around 50 plastic scrap processing units. District mat manufacturer association originated from around 1985 with few industries.

District sales tax department reports enhanced earnings in VAT tax:
Maharashtra State sales tax department Jalgaon district office has reported net rise of around 18% in collection of value added tax during the year. District has given Rs. 139 Crores VAT revenue this year by now from mere 12,000 approximate registered dealers.

Cyclonic winds in Raver, MuktaiNagar:
Raver and MuktaiNagar taluka eastern areas witnessed sudden cyclonic winds yesterday afternoon. This has mounted huge losses to farmers for standing banana crop. Primary estimates reveal 75 Lakhs losses in Anturli (MuktaiNagar) and Rasalpur (Raver) to Jwar and cotton crops. A few of areas also had snowing.

State table tennis competition ends:
District table tennis association conducted state rated competition ended yesterday with Mumbai's Shweta Paret win junior and girl's youth category competition. Jai Modak Nashik won youth boys category along with Prajakta Tipale in Women and Eric Fernandez from Mumbai sub-urban in men. Competition attracted large number of players from across State.

Bodwad Panchayat committee head post reserved for OBC:

Bhusawal sub-divisional Tahsil office conducted a draw of reservation for Panchayat committee head posts. This has availed reservation for OBC category candidate for next 2 years and 6 months. Earlier Collectorate allowed conduct of new reservation draw as this Panchayat was reserved for Ladies from SC category but had no eligible candidate in this category.

State table tennis competition:
District table tennis association conducted Table tennis competition day-4 had Akash Damle and Shweta Parte winning Junior category competition. Prajakta Tipale Thane has now entered finals of girls final round to be played today. Competition ends today with finals and prize distribution. State association is in further efforts to promote this sport to rural areas by introducing divisional competitions on 20th and 21st September at Dhule.

District's 4 selected for National shooting competition:
Maharashtra State shooting competition team has district rifle association's 4 player selected for upcoming 13th All Indian Inter-school Surendra Singh shooting championship. Event has participation of schools all across India. This includes Tilottma Shinde - Government Polytechnic, Nikhil Ravindra Mahajan - Nutan Maratha Vidyalaya, Pawan Yashwant Wani - Nutan Maratha College and Ninad Prashant Chaudhari - St. Joseph High School.

District association conducted Late Agrawal memorial cricket competition:
District cricket association is conducting Late Suresh Agrawal memorial district level open leather ball cricket competition from 20th September. Competition has first prize of Cash Rs. 11,000 and trophy, second prize of Rs. 5,000 and trophy along with Man of Series award worth Rs. 2,000 cash and trophy and best bowler, best batsman and fielder award each worth Rs. 1,000. Last date of registration is 17th September and is on first come first serve basis.

13th September:
Swine flu positive case confirmed in Jalgaon:

Jalgaon district's second swine flu case has been confirmed yesterday by Pune laboratory. Reported patient is 14 years college youth studying in Pune. Administration has availed Tamiflu tablets to all concerned medical staff in civil hospital serving this patient. This is second swine positive case in Jalgaon.

District likely to witness 20% water shortage:
Jalgaon district is likely to witness around 20% water shortage in coming summer. Region's two major resources Girana and Waghur dam have respectively 22% and 3.53% water storage as of now. This monsoon is about to end and rest dam have medium level storage. This is likely to trigger water reservation on all major dam for drinking purposes. As a result agricultural sector could likely not get additional required releases of water for seasonal crops.
Waghur dam water would help Jalgaonities drinking water needs for a year in current state if this water is not availed to other areas. Jalgaon district has 72%, Dhule has 89% and Nandurbar has 68% rainfall by now.

ICICI bank opens Raver branch:
Booming banking sector has another entrant in district. ICICI Bank has opened its second branch in district at banana hub of country Raver. Branch along with ATM and other allied facilities would add to farming centralised zone of Raver and Yaval taluka. Bank has announced its formal plans to open Chalisgaon and Bhusawal shortly.

Farmers witnesses ready banana loses worth 40-50 Lakhs:
District farmers in Raver zone had harder time with taluka based banana getting ripen before reaching destination in northern India. Around 7,000 quintal of banana remained in farms for around week's time with hopes of getting good rates. Lesser electricity and a day delayed arrival of wagon for shipment added to this. This has led to losses of around 40 Lakhs with likely damages to this ready to eat banana before reaching destination.

District table tennis association conducted state table competition day#3 marked Jalgaon player Vivek Alvani scoring victory over rated players and entering quarter finals. Jalgaon urban assembly review:

Newly structured and delimited Jalgaon city assembly constituency is coming in picture and election aspect for first time. This constituency has extended areas along with city. Constituency spread in around 7kms zone largely includes Jalgaon Corporation and Tahsil limits along with Khedi, Mehrun area, Hudco, Shivaji Nagar, Dandekar Nagar, Samta Nagar, Hari Vitthal Nagar and Nimkhedi areas. Constituency has 308,124 voters which includes 164,498 male and rest 143,626 female voters.
Administration has setup 6 panels to monitor election code of conduct implementation. It has marked 19 polling booths as sensitive and has introduced special security and monitoring on these booths. Administration has also setup city voter helpline on 0257-2233657 during working days from 10am until 6pm.

State table tennis competition - day 2:
District association conducted state rated table tennis competition day#2 marked dominating plays from metro areas. Administration setup voter's helpline call centre:

Jalgaon district administration has established voter's assistance helpline call centre in Jalgaon to facilitate delivery of polling booth information and related services. Centre would avail home delivery of slips having voter identification, polling booth information and related stats. Centre remains functional until 30th September. Four thousand farmers awaiting debt waiver:
Jalgaon district's around 4,000 farmers are still awaiting for nullifying their bank loans taken under central government earlier announced debt waiver scheme. This delay is cause of respective nationalised banks not getting actual dues from government. As a result these farmers are still shown having outstanding dues and have not turned eligible for current Kharip season crop loan.
Central debt waiver scheme was announced in December 2008 and many of nationalised banks having farmer dues still await around 50 Crores due fund.

Madhukar co-operative sugar factory special board meeting on sugarcane availability:
Madhukar co-operative sugar factory in Faizpur board is meeting on Saturday, 12th September to discuss various proposed plans and offers for attracting most of sugarcane for processing to run its unit at 100% capacity. Factory has 350,000 hectares based sugarcane availability in this season. Last season's lower raining lowered water level in well and as a result overall sugarcane productivity has fallen by 40%. This is Madhukar's 34th seasonal processing. It availed Rs. 1,011 per hectare rate last year and processed 192,101 metric tonnes of sugarcane in last season.

State table tennis competition - day 1:
District table tennis association conducted state level table tennis competition was inaugurated yesterday. Day#1 had Jalgaon players dominating play. Akash Kasar, Atharva Tarsode defeated rated players along with Rasika Lohar and Ashay Patil entering in respective category next rounds. Cottonomics 2009 - Ginning to witness around 1,000 Crore turnover:

Delayed monsoon start and large intervals in between has slowed arrival of cotton in ginning mills. Khandesh region has around 80 functional ginning and pressing mills and all these units are geared up for processing cotton in this season. Khandesh comprising of Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar yields around 40 Lakh quintal of cotton every year. Traders estimate around 1,000 Crores turnover in this season for processing of raw cotton. Ginning and pressing units combined produces yield 16 Lakh cotton bales and avails around 1 Lakh youth employment.

State table tennis competition begins today in Jalgaon:
District table tennis association conducted Jain trophy state rated table tennis competition is beginning today at district sports complex. This is State's fourth and 16th consecutive table tennis competition for Jalgaon. The 5-days competition has participation of around 550 players from across State in sub-junior and junior categories. 09th September:
Season's first banana consignment shipped to north India:

Raver, Savda and Nimbhori shipped their season's first lot to Kanpur yesterday. Northern India has good demand for Khandesh banana following peak festive season. Producers are getting around Rs. 850 per quintal rate for this consignment. Raver region is witnessing good raining since last 15 days and as a result there is good outflow of ripen banana. Banana is being sold in local markets at Rs. 850 per quintal.

Monsoon 2009 relaxes woes - 72% rainfall recorded by now:
District's this season monsoon rainfall disrupted with delayed start and large gaps in between has finally eased pressure. Continued raining since last 15 days has taken this figure up to 72.38% of average rainfall. Continued raining has helped animal feed grass availability and availed ample water storage in dams. State has earlier announced 7 taluka of district as water-short taluka for this monsoon. However actual picture could arrive only after Kharip produces yield calculations announcement.

JMTU to start 57 seats buses from next week:
Jalgaon municipal transport undertaking is introducing 57 seats 10 buses from next week. Corporation is in discussion with private party to finalise its Central Bus Stand location. It has offered 5 locations namely Old Municipal Council location, Traffic garden, Khwajamiya slum vacated land and Shirsoli road based vacant plot. JMTU current has 27 seater small buses running on 3 major routes.

Region's five sugar factories to inaugurate boiler by Dasra:

Khandesh region's 5 out of 11 sugar factories are inaugurating their boilers for the season by Dasra. Rest 6 factories are down following many factors. Irregular and delayed raining is likely to reduce overall productivity of the season which would impact full capacity processing of five factories inaugurating their boilers.
List includes Madhukar Faizpur, Chopda sugar, Shirpur sugar and Satpuda and tribal sugar factories in Nandurbar district. All these factories have made initiatives to collect sugarcane from their areas along with neighbouring districts. Jalgaon district's Belganga Chalisgaon, Vasant Kasoda and Saint Muktaibai MuktaiNagar are down following financial woes. JDCC Bank is in discussion and efforts to avail soft loans to start up these factories.

Assembly election 2009 - Administration to require around 18,358 staffing:
Jalgaon district administration is in efforts for smooth conduct of whole election process. It has planned to induct State and central government employees along with Corporation, ZP, council employees for election process conduct at 11 assembly seats in district. There are 6,682 electronic voting machines for this process at these seats.

District basketball competition from 11th September:
Jalgaon district amateur basketball association is conducting 3-days Under-14 and Under-17 category boys and girls inter-school competition from 11th until 13th September. National banana council meet in Jalgaon in October:

Association for improvement in production and utilisation of banana New Delhi and National banana research council Trichi are jointly conducting 4 days national council in Jalgaon from 03rd until 06th October 2009. Council meet would discuss wide spread measures on preparation of new best quality varieties of banana, use of drip irrigation, fustigation and many other latest technologies for fungus and other infection control. Four taluka tops chemical fertilisers use in district:
Jalgaon district's four taluka namely Raver, Chalisgaon, Yaval and Chopda are top in use of chemical fertiliser in agriculture and farming. These four taluka have combined used over 1 Lakh tonnes of fertilisers in last four months. Whole district had 248,000 tonnes of fertiliser usage during this season.

Flooding drowns girl in Anchalgaon:
Bhadgaon taluka based Anchalgaon village having flooding Nala due to heavy raining drown a 14-years girl and 4 bullocks. Monsoon raining eases water woes - 65% rainfall recorded by now:
Continued rainfall since last 2 days has escaped standing Kharip crop from damages. Most of taluka in district have reported good raining throughout last week. Ratnavati River in Chopda has witnessed flooding and Hatnur dam's 10 gates are open. Kang River in Jamner is also flooding. Jalgaon taluka had 77.8mm rainfall, Erandol had 80mm and Dharangaon had 72mm raining in last 2 days.

Gold and silver rates shoot up:
Bullion market around world witness sharp rise in Gold and silver prices yesterday. Gold touched Rs. 16,350 per 10gms while Silver touched its lifetime high of 27,200 per Kg. Gold has risen up by 450 while silver shoot up by 1,200 following increase in demand of gold on international levels.

NMU announces not to conduct semester pattern for first year:
North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has announced not to conduct semester pattern for first year arts, commerce and science for this academic year following teachers earlier strike derailing academics and curriculum completion. All these classes would be as per year 2008 pattern. It has earlier announced extension of starting exams from earlier 13th September to 01st October. Colleges are taking Sunday and holidays also to complete course curriculum backlog created by strike.

Jalgaon district administration has finalised venue for 11 assembly election votes counting and has sent this information to State EC. It has proposed to increase polling booths in city following increase in voters count. This election will have 17 micro observers and EC sent 11 observers.

District's 700 villages in National drinking water scheme:

Central government has included all 694 villages of Jalgaon district under 'Bharat-Nirman' scheme in its national rural drinking water supplies scheme. It has availed new action plan of Rs. 97 Crores for various drinking water projects for these villages. It has also given additional 103 Crores action plan to divisional authority for various development projects under Bharat Nirman.

ZP General body meeting on 09th September:
Jalgaon district council general body is meeting on Wednesday, 09th September to discuss various issues on its agenda. This includes lake, Kolhapur-type dam, storage dam and allied water storages repair works, availing special fund of 50 Lakhs for development of pilgrimage places. Election Commission announces Assembly elections schedule:

Election Commission has announced conducting assembly elections poll on 13th October at all 288 constituencies in State. Votes counting would be on 22nd October after Diwali festival. With this announcement election code of conduct has also come in immediate effect. This announcement has triggered political fraternity for candidates' selection and campaigning.
Assembly election schedule begins with nomination filling process on 18th September, 25th September as last date of filling nominations, scrutiny on 26th September, last date of withdrawal as 29th September followed by voting on 13th October and counting on 22nd October. District administration is conducting a Election Code of Conduct implementation meeting today.

Khandesh cotton farmers demand centre encourage for exports:
Khandesh cotton growing farmers and ginning pressing association expects good exports demand for cotton grown here. This season's crop is likely to have around 20-25% drop in produces. It estimates around 50 Lakh quintal cotton in whole Khandesh for this season. CCI holds around 50% share of this cotton procurement while traders take rest and process it. State guaranteed rates scheme avails Rs. 2,800 per quintal rate to farmers.
Region has around 115 cotton ginning and pressing units and the association expects full flow arrival of cotton in next 15 days. Private buying rates would be in 2,700 to 2,800 per quintal depending on quality.
