31st March:
Year-end Review: Corporation's Road Developments in standstill:
The financial year 2006-07 is getting over today. The year in past
times has brought significant changes and movements in Jalgaon's overall
growth and development. The financially seek Corporation seems to
have found no escape way out of its hindrances. The MSRDC analysed
Jalgaon City road development project has turned into standstill with
no further movement from Corporation.
The MSRDC in its review declined to initiate work seeing Corporation
weakening and huge debt burden. It did suggested Corporation with
3 options to pay the charges that included special cess on fuel in
City; pay off Corporation owned market taxes and/ or levy toll tax.
The Proposal included Flyover on Shivaji Nagar and Pimprala, underground
drainage, road dividers, DP based roads etc.
How farmer's electricity troubles could resolve?
Jalgaon District's 55 years old farmer in Dasegaon of Chalisgaon Taluka
committed suicide at Electricity Distribution Company's office following
increasing electricity chaos and troubles. This has led to discussions
and political debacle on availability of electricity for farm pumps;
its billing process and getting a new connection.
Khandesh's Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar districts have a waiting list
of 30,579 farmers to get new electricity connection for farm pump.
This issue has taken a new shape amongst waves of election turnaround
with opposition parties taking it as a selling point.
The Company has its own set of issues with mounted dues of 398 Crores
on 242,253 farmers throughout the region. This include Jalgaon's 157,557
farmers with due of Rs. 210 Crores, Dhule's 55,410 farmers having
97 Crores due and Nandurbar with 29,286 farmers and 91 Crores due.
Company officials claims that free electricity to farmers is one of
major points that raised its outstanding. The outstanding also includes
some large groups having mega agricultural setups and having taken
farmers status and enjoying government's benefits.
River-Flow of Top leaders in the region:
Various top brass national leaders from Indian National Congress,
Nationalist Congress Party, BJP and RPI are reaching Jalgaon in this
upcoming week to address rallies of their candidates in Jalgaon and
Erandol constituencies. How effectively local candidates take advantage
of these leaders in getting good projects and works flown in, is an
issue to observe in these addressing?
Manish Jain elected in Board of Jewellery Trade Federation of
India:
Jalgaon's Rajmal Lakhichand Jewellers owner Manish Jain has been elected
in Board of Directors of All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation
in its meeting at Malaysia.
Millind Malbari selected for National Volleyball Competition:
St. Lawrence School Class VII student Millind Shashikumar Malbari
has been selected for national Volleyball competition at Mandi of
Himachal Pradesh from 03rd until 08th April.

Time to rejoice for SSC Students: Board Exam Papers over:
All school students appearing SSC exams had a relaxed note yesterday
with completion of SSC Exam. This year's SSC Exam had many mistakes
in Question Papers resulting in chaos amongst students. The Board
has announced 30 marks bonus for mistaken questions to all students.
Godavari Engineering College organised State-level Paper
Presentation Contest:
The Godavari Engineering College Jalgaon is conducting
a State-level Paper Presentation Contest "Energy 2007" on 04th April.
The competition is open to all Engineering and Agricultural Engineering Students
with today being last day of participation. Please contact College Authorities

Jalgaon Civil Hospital
to get Rs. 41.93 Lakhs for C.T. Scan machine:
Jalgaon District Civil Hospital
in Jalgaon would shortly receive a special grant of 41.93 Lakhs for repairing
of its faulty C. T. Scan machine. The Hospital procured this machine in 2001.
The machine benefits thousands of needy and weaker section people in getting exact
medical diagnosis in terms of emergency and neurological aspects.

Madhukar Sugar factory produces 8.16 Lakh bags
of Sugar:
Madhukar Co-operative Sugar factory
at Faizpur has processed 396,880 tonnes of sugarcane and produced 816,150 bags
of sugar from it. It started processing in October-2006 with a target of 450,000
tonnes of sugarcane processing.
It procured 325,680 tonnes sugarcane last
year and produced 680,600 bags of sugar from it. The factory has until now highest
record of 553,367 tonnes sugarcane processing in its 30th processing in 1995-96
and the lowest turnout was in 1976-77 with 79,580 tonnes of sugarcane.

Maharashtra University Jalgaon presents its annual deficit Budget:
North
Maharashtra University Jalgaon has presented its Annual Budget for year 2007-08
in its Senate meeting. The Budget proposes hefty funds for Student welfare, development
of Educational Departments, easing administration and employee's welfare. The
Annual Budget has estimated earnings of Rs. 45 Crores 60 Lakhs 96 thousands and
expenditure of 50 Crores 54 Lakhs and 7 thousands.
It has proposed to start
four Placement Counselling Cell that include one at NMU and one each at Jalgaon,
Dhule and Nandurbar districts with each worth Rs. 5 Lakhs. Amongst other proposals
in Budget includes Rs. 3 Lakhs for M.P.Ed., Rs. 20 Lakhs for Post-Graduation Department
in NMU, 50 Lakhs fund for New Boys Hostel at NMU and Rs. 30 Lakhs for New Girls
Hostel, 50 Lakhs for Teacher Bhavan. It also proposes 75 Lakhs for Administrative
tasks Computerisation, 50 Lakhs for V-SAT based campus networking, 25 Lakhs worth
Individual Computers buying, Earn and Lean scheme cap limit raised to 8 Lakhs
from earlier 4 Lakhs along with 30 Lakhs for Library enriching and 10 Lakhs fund
for Special Hall for Convocation and kind of ceremonies.
State
Election Commission Chief reviews Parliamentary Bye-election arrangements:
The
State Election Commission Chief yesterday reviewed all arrangements of Parliamentary
Bye-elections in Jalgaon and Erandol constituencies. The Administration has also
started a Media Centre at District Collectorate to educate Voters on using EVM
along with all statistical information. The centre has Maps of Jalgaon and Erandol
Parliamentary Constituencies along with latest electoral roll, polling booth information,
information of all previous elections since 1977 and is open for all Jalgaonities
to visit.
Yaval Forestry Development office to close
from 01st April:
The Yaval Forestry Development Office is being closed
from 01st April as it is running out in loss. The Yaval Forestry office is amongst
Dhule Forestry Division comprising of Taloda, Dhule South, Dhule West, Jalgaon
and Yaval along with offices at Nandurbar and Yaval. The Nashik regional office
has not received any of confirmation of this closure until now.
SSC
English Paper leaked in Jalgaon:
The SSC English Paper yesterday came out
30 minutes before starting of exam and facilitated many copiers in getting its
answers from outside. The Exam Authorities have arrested Centre Head, Two Lady
Teachers, Two Head Masters, A Trainee-Teacher and a staff in this connection.
The Authorities have seized 31 marks Answer sheet wrote by Teacher.
The Administration
has conveyed this paper leakage information to Board and it is likely that the
Paper would be cancelled as Authorities expressed chances of Questions paper copies
being faxed out of district and other areas as well.
Jalgaon
District Cricket Association and Rotary Club Jalgaon West organised Talk Show
on Indian Cricket Team failure:
The Jalgaon District Cricket Association
and Rotary Club of Jalgaon West are jointly conducting a talk show on Indian Cricket
Team's shameful defeat in World Cup 2007 in association with Nutan Maratha College.
It would have participation of many state-level and Ranaji level players and managerial
personnel.

National Geographical Research Institute to survey
Raver, Yaval Taluka for Coal and Petrol natural sources:
The
National Geographical Research Institute is searching Raver Taluka's Rozode, Vivre,
Moregaon, Raver and Atavade along with many nearby places for likely availability
of natural sources of coal and petrol. The Institute has begun its survey as per
State Government orders. The Institute team continued its exploration on Tuesday
at Talegaon (Nhavi). Availability of any one of such resources could dramatically
change the entire region's commerce.
Parliamentary
Bye-elections 2007: Political parties in full swing:
The Jalgaon and Erandol
bye-elections have equal statewide value as it falls immediately after ZP Elections.
All Party major heads and National-level leaders are in plans of visiting Jalgaon
for this election. Meanwhile the candidates have begun their homework and ground
strengthening with marketing strategies like Tele-calling using Telephone Directories
and Community listings.
On Administrative front, there are 6 Election Observers
in Jalgaon along with State Chief Election Commissioner right here in Jalgaon
to review work progress.
Schools Final Exams likely
to reschedule:
The Election factor is likely to disrupt Schools final exams
this year. The recently announced 09th April Parliamentary Bye-elections is scheduled
on 09th followed by counting. As a result, most of schools are conducting exams
on National Holidays like Ramnavmi and other festivity.
The Class V to IX and
FYJC exams are from 02nd April until 18th April. The Administration would conduct
Pre-Training of Election Process to all participant school staff and as a result,
there would be no Exam on 04th and 05th April. The new timetable would be announced
on 29th March.
Meanwhile North Maharashtra University has announced rescheduling
of 08th and 09th April papers to 15th April onwards. Please refer respective college
for detailed information and timetable thereof.

Marathi Poet Keshavsut
Award winner Poet Tryambak Sapkale written "Surung" is being inaugurated
on 15th April. This is second release of this collection and the ceremony will
follow literary conference after it.

Jalgaon's
Rural-deity: Lord Rama Temple:
The old Jalgaon based Lord Rama Temple is
one of most historic temples in region having special mention in year 1865 British
Gazette. The Mumbai based monthly journal in 1985 has reported that Ahilyabai
Holkar renovated this temple. This temple has both religious and Varkari traditions.
The Traditional 'Gadi System' of this temple had Appa Maharaj in 1867.
The
temple celebrates every Hindu festivity with cheer and full devotion and has special
events like Rath festivity. It is also quoted that Ramanuj Panth renowned Mahant
Shri Ramanand Swami stayed here for month duration. He then offered Lord Rama
small idol to Appa Maharaj seeing his devotion and commitment. This idol is taken
in every year's Rath festivity and has huge devotees all around.
The Chimukle
Rama Temple opposite Bus Stand is also amongst one of faith centres of devotees
having setup in 1918. The construction work begun in 1914 and has ancient idols
of Lord Rama, Seeta and Laxmana. The Lord Rama temple in Mehrun is also amongst
one of ancient temples setup in 1960 period.
Ground all set for battle:
11 Candidates in Jalgaon and 5 in Erandol:
The last day of withdrawing
nominations is finally over and the day witnessed 4 each withdrawals from Jalgaon
and Erandol. With this, the final figure in Jalgaon has touched to 11 and to 5
in Erandol.
Amongst major candidature at Jalgaon is Dr. Arjun Bhangale from
Congress-I with NCP Alliance, Haribhau Jawale from BJP - Shivsena alliance and
Dr. B. S. Patil from BJP and Shivsena Alliance with Adv. Vasantrao More from NCP
- Congress-I alliance at Erandol Constituency. All parties have begun their campaigning
using traditional media as if Auto-rickshaw based publicity, visiting personally
to many areas and mouth-to-mouth publicity. Many senior leaders from national
level parties are also arriving in Jalgaon to address their supporters in large
numbers. It would be equally interesting to see how these candidates promote their
candidature and commit on sensitive and equally important issues like more of
Industrial Growth, getting good National level Government institution setup, more
funds for infrastructural works etc.

Hatnur dam
water reserve down to 58%, summer heat intensifies:
The intensifying summer
is decreasing stored water level in dam sharply. The Hatnur dam has reported water
storage of 58% as of yesterday. Other dams are also having sharp decrease in water
levels. This could generate harsh summer signs for Jalgaonities in terms of water
shortage in no plans from local administration to tackle the same.
There has
been a sharp increase in temperature in last 10 days and afternoon time has fire
blazes like effect. The District Civil Hospital has set up a special Heat-Affected
Support Section. District's Sub-Hospitals and rural hospitals also have special
sections to facilitate heat-affected patients.

Conference by Sindhi Community Mandal on 01st April:
The Jalgaon Sindhi
Community Mandal is organising a Hindi Laughter-literary conference on eve of

The EC appointed
Election Observers have arrived in Jalgaon. The Observers have urged to communicate
directly for any of queries, hindrances in free and fair polling. The Observers

Satpuda Mega Water Recharge project proposal
to be submitted to CWC:
Jalgaon District Collectorate prepared Satpuda
Mega Water recharge project has got final clearance from State Government. The
proposal with suggested Government amendments will now go forward to Central Water
Commission for final approval. This announcement has come as a joy to Khandesh
region amidst upcoming harsh summer and water chaos.
The proposal prepared
3 years ago proposes a mega water-recharging scheme on bottoms of Satpuda hills.
The Authorities surveyed the proposed site and then referred the same to State
Authorities for final approval. The proposal faced stiff protest from Vidarbha
on technical grounds. All technical queries posted are finally resolved.

This year has mere 40 marriages Muhurat remaining
after Gudi Padwa festivity until 26th July 2007. Amongst busiest Muhurat are April
1-5, 11-13, 26,29-30, May 1,2,4,6,8-10,13-14, June 20,24-25,27-28,30 and then
July with 3-4,7,8,11,19-23. There is an "Adhik Mass" (additional month
as per Hindu Tithi) from 17th May until 15th June 2007.
Asoda Village
approves acceptance to State Electricity Distribution Company's Akshay Prakash
Scheme:
The Asoda village living on mere 6kms distance to Jalgaon city
has agonies to cry for. The drinking water troubles, road issues are now more
with State Electricity Distribution Company's electricity load shedding. The village
has 14 hours of daily load shedding and it is very hard to survive its farming
mainly having roses, Brinjals and allied grains. The Village Panchayat in meeting
of all villagers yesterday unanimously approved to go for Akshay Prakash scheme
having assurance of continued electricity subjected to minimum load assurance.

Parliamentary Bye-elections: All Candidates nomination valid:
The Jalgaon and Erandol Parliamentary Constituencies all filed nominations have
turned valid in scrutinisation yesterday. There are in all 15 candidates in Jalgaon
while 9 in Erandol. Last date of withdrawing nominations is 26th March. Meanwhile
political parties have started meetings to intense their campaigning and create
good voters base.
Mission Octroi removal: Business Confederation
announces boycott to Parliamentary elections if Octroi not removed:
The
Jalgaon District Businesses Confederation in its meeting yesterday has announced
protest boycott to upcoming Parliamentary bye-election in case State Government
do not come up with satisfying solution to remove Octroi Tax. The Federation of
Associations of Maharashtra is meeting on 26th March to finalise its stand on
indefinite protest closure or suitable steps against this if not taken off. The
Body has also asked its member associations to go polling only if political parties
issues written confirmation for the same.

The JRKD Co-operative Credit Society is organising a
Post-Budget Talk Show in Jalgaon today on 4PM at Omkar Lawns. CNBC Channel fame

ZP Committee Head selection
on 02nd April:
The newly elected ZP Body would elect its new committee
heads on 02nd April. The State Rural Development Authority has issued this order
to ZP Administration. Amongst major committees, include Education, Heath, Social
Welfare, Agricultural, Finance, Public Works and Women and Children Welfare department.
State
Electricity Distribution Company announces Private-Party based Distribution System:
The State Electricity Distribution Company has announced Private-Party franchise
based electricity distribution and billing system in ten divisions including Jalgaon.
This includes Jalgaon, Dhule, Aurangabad, Kalva, Ulhasnagar, Nagpur and Ahmednagar
districts. This announcement would take around 6 months or so time to turn into
practical.

Parliamentary Bye-elections: 15 Candidates in
Jalgaon, 9 in Erandol:
With last date of
filling nominations over on yesterday, the first picture of Parliamentary Bye-elections
is clear. There are 15 candidates having filed nominations in Jalgaon and 9 in
Erandol constituency. All nominations filed would undergo scrutinisation today
followed by 26th March as last day of withdrawing nominations.
Jalgaon Constituency
has Congress-I Candidate Dr. Arjun Bhangale, BJP's Haribhau Jawale while Erandol
has NCP's Adv Vasantrao More and BJP-Shivsena alliance candidate Dr. B. S. Patil
along with NCP's Gulabrao Deokar as dummy candidate along with many small parties
and independent candidates. Exact candidature and picture would be clear only
after 26th March, last day of withdrawing nominations.
The District Administration
has demanded increase of 32 polling booths for this election. There are in all
2,355 polling booths in both constituencies with 3,100 EVM machines. Commission's
Election Observers are also arriving in District shortly. State Election Commission
Chief is also arriving in Jalgaon on 28th March to monitor overall developments
and arrangements.
Parliamentary Bye-elections:
2,557,743 voters in Jalgaon District:
The Jalgaon and Erandol Parliamentary
Bye-elections have 2,557,743 voters that include 1,244,702 Ladies and 1,401,907
Gents voters. The Jalgaon Taluka has highest number of voters with 281,511 and
Yaval having lowest of 169,674 voters. The Authorities have appointed 31 officers
for smooth conduct of this election process.

Co-operative Department urges farmers to report balance sugarcane:
The
District Co-operative Department has urged all farmers to avail their sugarcane
balance stock information at earliest. The Jalgaon farmers had wonderful sugarcane
crop this year and as a result most had overflowing stock that remains lying following
full limits of procurement of sugar factories. The State Co-operative Directorate
and Regional Deputy Director of Sugar have called for this information to formulate
its action plan. The primary estimates report around 300,000 metric tonnes sugarcane
lying with farmers.
Jalgaon Business Confederation meeting
today to finalise stand on Octroi:
Jalgaon District Businesses Confederation
is meeting today at 4PM to finalise its stand on Octroi Tax protest and send its
supportive resolution to State unit. The State Government has not conveyed anything
in its Annual Budget 2007-08 few days back and as a result, traders are disappointed
and are in plans to raise strong protest on Octroi Tax quoting fact that VAT has
already exceeded Government's planned revenue collection.

The Jalgaon People Bank sponsored
sixth Body Building competition ended yesterday with Rex Gym Bhusawal's Sajid
Kureshi winning the title. The Award comprises of Rs. 2,001 Cash Prize and Trophy.
Amongst other winner, include Sunil Bhusawal from National Health Club Jalgaon
in 0-52KG Category, Sayyed Anis from National Health Club Jalgaon in 53-57KG Category,
Shaikh Kalim from Shri Sai Bajrang Gym Jalgaon in 58-62KG category along with

Co-operative Banks Association announces Lifetime
Achievement Award for Dr. Acharya:
The Maharashtra
State Co-operative Banks Association has announced Year 2006 Late V. A. Patil
Memorial Special lifetime achievements Awards to Jalgaon's Dr. Avinash Acharya.
Dr. Acharya is Jalgaon Janta Bank's founder President and Senior Social activist
and has been serving society since last 28 years by means of co-operative movement.
District's
seven Villages receive "Nirmal Gram" Award:
The State Government
Rural Development Ministry has announced Jalgaon's 7 villages being selected for
"Nirmal Gram" Award for the year. The Awarding criterion includes 100%
use of private sanitation means and no open-toileting. These villages are Deogaon
- Devli, Mehergaon (Amalner), Dambrun (Chalisgaon), Madani (Jamner), Chinchol
(MuktaiNagar), Mangalwadi (MuktaiNagar) and Navare (Yaval). Last year Bornar village
in Jalgaon Taluka received this award.

The District Association has announced
Jalgaon team for upcoming under-25 MCA Cricket competition. Team has Mushtaque
Ali (Captain), Yogesh Savant (Vice Captain), Aditya Bagadde, Kiran Jadhav, Prashant
Borse, Mehul Ingle, Tanvir Ahmed, Taslim Pathan, Rahul Chaudhari, Hasin Tadvi,

District Businesses Confederation initiates Protest
strike against VAT on Essential commodities:
The
VAT Chaos continues to hammer on second consecutive March end with State announcement
of imposing VAT on essential commodities. Today's State Budget would give final
imprint on this decision and if levied could raise rates of essential commodities
throughout Maharashtra.
The Confederation has decided not to procure further
all essential commodities until final decision on VAT is made. It has also shown
readiness for indefinite strike against VAT if finally imposed.
Parliamentary
bye-Elections: Announced Candidates fill in their nominations:
The NCP
and BJP announced Candidates yesterday filed in their nominations for respective
constituencies at Jalgaon Collectorate. NCP candidate Adv. Vasantrao More and
BJP Candidate Dr. B. S. Patil filed in their nomination for Erandol while Ex-MLA
Haribhau Jawale filed in for Jalgaon. Congress-I announced Candidate Dr. A. G.
Bhangale would file his nomination today for Jalgaon Constituency.
Meanwhile
the entire Election process has focus on Sureshdada Jain views and stand, as his
Party NCP has not allotted ticket. He is yet to announce his final views and role
in the entire process. Last date of filling nominations is 23rd March and until
now, 28 aspirants have taken nomination forms.
Deepnagar
Project layout Ready:
The State owned Deepnagar based Bhusawal Thermal
Power Station (BTPS) two new additional 500MW Power-generating units project is
all set to begin. The BHEL has received this Contract worth Rs. 2,557 Crores with
Rs. 250 Crores as Advance towards works. The Project location based 150 shelters
would be rehabilitated to newer places. This Project work's first phase of Environmental
and pollution control clearance was cleared last year and it would now be setup
at 65 Hectares land as per the new layout.
Jalgaon City
- Pulses City: A Review on Pulses Market:
Jalgaon Bazaar popularly known
for its wide range of Gold and Silver Jewellery along with Banana has another
distinguished identity of being largest Pulses Market. The region has hundreds
of pulses processing factories and traders selling to over 40 Countries in Exports.
Central Government's currently imposed ban on Export of Pulses is likely to be
lifted in next two months.
Jalgaon earlier had a very few pulses factories
in Shivaji Nagar area. This figure expanded further in 1980 to 1990 decade with
arrival of many medium to high volume industries in this field. The Pulses Trade
and Processing industry has biggest challenge of survival amidst commodity exchanges
based trading and day trades.
Khandesh region demands
"Khandesh Queen Train" with Railway Ministry:
The Maharashtra
Uniformity Council Surat has demanded initiating of Khandesh Queen Express Train
from Surat via Mumbai to Bhusawal to facilitate huge number of commuters in this
route. The Council members submitted a written request to Railways State Minister
in Delhi.
The Surat belt has huge number of Khandesh people especially from
Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar and starting up of such trains will ease and add
to their convenience of reaching Jalgaon and Bhusawal.

Jalgaon Corporation enters fifth year:
The
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation is entering into its fifth year today. The
financially sick and indebt Corporation is finding itself trapped in hard times
in balancing public confidence and boosting overall business and trade in region.
The Corporation has to pay Rs. 1 Crore per month to JDCC Bank towards its huge
loan failing which its building and other assets like V. V. Market could be possessed
by Bank.
Amongst major challenges ahead for Corporation are implementing Waghur
dam project water supply in city. Jalgaon city is facing drinking water shortage
since last 5 years and Corporations all efforts have failed to normalise water
supply. The City currently getting water supply from Girana dam would have to
be very self-sufficient on mini dam like Waghur. Amongst other challenges include
Road Development and repairs, improving quality of services in Corporation owned
Shopping complexes and most importantly catalyse Industrial growth to avail jobs
and business in region.
ZP President and
Deputy Selection today:
District Council (ZP) Body would formally elect
its President and Deputy in a Special Meeting called today. The BJP - Shivsena
alliance winning majority in this ZP election has announced its senior member
Murlidhar Dagadu Tayade for President and Shivsena has announced Prakash Ratan
Somwanshi for Deputy Post. Congress has also announced its candidate. As BJP -
Shivsena alliance has majority, its candidates are likely to be finalised today.
The election process would begin at 11AM to 1PM with official nomination filling
followed by scrutiny and then majority votes based selection in meeting.
BJP
announces its Parliamentary Candidature:
The BJP has announced Amalner's
Dr. B. S. Patil as its candidate for Erandol Constituency and Ex-MLA Haribhau
Jawale for Jalgaon constituency. NCP earlier announced Adv. Vasant More for Erandol
Constituency would fill his nominations today. Congress-I is yet to announce its
Jalgaon candidature. The Third front comprising of Janta Dal, RPI, BSP and other
such parties is meeting today to finalise its candidature.
Meanwhile District
Administration has called for Electronic Voting Machines from Akola, Amravati
and Dhule as well and has geared up its preparations for the same. The Erandol
constituency has now a total of three applications filed by various party candidates.

Elections: NCP announces Adv. More for Erandol Constituency:
The
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has announced Parola's Ex-MLA Adv. Vasantrao
More for Parliamentary Bye-elections at Erandol on 09th April. BJP has announced
Amalner's Dr. B. S. Patil for this seat. BJP will formally announce its list today
and NCP is likely to announce its Jalgaon candidature by tomorrow.
The Announcement
has come up as a shocker to region's senior leader Sureshdada Jain having demanded
Erandol Constituency candidature from the Party. He has not comment on this announcement
and is likely to fight this election as Independent candidate from Erandol.
The
Republican Party has announced its District President Mohan Nikam and Sambhaji
Brigade District President Prataprao Patil as Candidates for Jalgaon Constituency.
The united alliance has urged to both file their nominations and later on withdraw
one as both clears.

Crores availed for development of Khandesh region in upcoming budget on 22nd March.
This announcement has come up as a strong rage for entire Khandesh region. All
senior Leaders, MLA and MP from Khandesh met State Governor and conveyed this
protest mark. All leaders quoted no objection to special provisions for drifted
areas from other than Khandesh Package funds.

The majority
seats gaining BJP and Shivsena have finally announced their formal alliance for
ZP ruling. Under new arrangement of alliance, BJP will have ZP President Post
wherein Shivsena would get Deputy Post. BJP won 26 seats, Shivsena won 15 seats
and this alliance would mean a clear majority for this alliance.
ZP President
and Deputy Election are on 21st March and this announcement has ended other rumours
of cross-party alliance.

There will be no fillings on Sunday and Monday following Gudi Padwa festivity.
Until now, 10 candidates have taken applications for Jalgaon Constituency. This
totals to 16 applications taken in 2 days for Jalgaon and 7 in Erandol Constituency.
Meanwhile the Shiv-Rajya Party has announced that it would fight in this election

Marathi New Year is on Monday, 19th March. Traditionally day begins with "Abhyang-snana"

The District Election Authorities have received
a Nomination form at Erandol from Hindustan Janta Party Candidate on very first

Jalgaon
and Erandol Parliamentary bye-Elections nomination filling process is beginning
today and would continue until 23rd March. Nomination scrutinisation process is
on 24th followed by 26th March as last day of withdrawing followed by voting on
09th April and Votes counting on 12th April. District Administration has instructed
respective Block Development Offices and Government's various Agencies in planning
for this election.
Meanwhile Candidate selection is one of the hottest topics
in public discussions now a days with many a senior leaders and youth being discussed
for being selected. Leading Political parties in zone are cautious over candidate
selection and as a result, none has yet officially announced their candidature.
Corporation completes Waghur dam
water supply testing works:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation has completed
its prestigious Waghur dam water supply technical test. The test was for 8.5 KMS
distance water supply continuity. It took two 30HP Water pumps to put into a tank
and then three 30HP water pumps to water filtering centre having distance of 8.50
KMS. The MIDC Express Feeder based electricity supply line work is also in full-fledged
speed along with filling of this pipeline work.

The recently finished ZP and Village
Panchayat elections have reflected polling trends of rural Jalgaon. The western
areas in District having Erandol Parliamentary Constituency is likely going to
have Congress I - NCP Alliance wherein Jalgaon Parliamentary Constituency is likely
to have BJP - Shivsena alliance as winners. Parliamentary Elections polling is
after mere three weeks and ZP along with Panchayat results has given a fair idea
of voting pattern.
The Erandol Parliamentary Constituency has Erandol, Chalisgaon,
Bhadgaon, Pachora, Parola, Amalner and Chopda. Congress I - NCP alliance has won
287,706 votes in all wherein BJP - Shivsena alliance has won 284, 827. These figures
indicate credence to Congress I - NCP if came in alliance.
The Jalgaon Parliamentary
Constituency has Jalgaon, Jamner, Bhusawal, Bodwad, MuktaiNagar, Yaval and Raver
Taluka. The BJP - Shivsena alliance has won 266,141 votes wherein Congress I -
NCP alliance has won 239,991 votes. This indicates significant influence and hold
of BJP - Shivsena alliance in this belt of District.
District's overall voting
pattern has led BJP as #1 Party getting 346,975 votes followed by NCP having 299,474
votes, Congress-I having 228,223 and Shivsena getting 203,993 votes.

The sudden announcement of Parliamentary elections
in Jalgaon and Erandol constituencies has lead to movements in all major political
parties. Various parties State Unit heads are in discussion with their local representation
for electing candidates. This election is likely to be another interesting battle

Municipal Council Budget submitted:
Chopda Municipal Council Administration
has presented its Annual Budget in General Body Meeting. The Budget avails Rs.
1 Crore for Council Administrative Building, 85 Lakhs for Road Development, 25
Lakhs for Gutters and waste channeling in City, 15 Lakhs for Public Toilets, Bathrooms,
10 Lakhs towards compensation of Land Acquisition for various developmental works.
It also avails Rs. 1 Crore for IHSDP Housing scheme, 10 Lakhs for Local Constituency
Development works, Rs. 2.80 Crores under UIDSMT scheme, Rs. 3 Crore for water
supply under UIDSSMT scheme. It also proposes 25 Lakhs for New colonies setup,
54 Lakhs for 12th Finance Commission, 8.5 Lakhs under Golden-Jubilee Urban Development
scheme, 15 Lakhs for Gul project to generate electricity for water supply to city
and then introduce solar power based street lights.
Akshardham
Temple on banks of Girana River:
The Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Temple
Trust (B.A.P.S.) is setting of a mega Akshardham Temple on banks of Girana River
in Jalaram Nagar in Jalgaon city. Community's senior saints visited this site
yesterday and have given go ahead for the same. The idea is in conception phase
and would take a year or so time to complete the construction work.

Erandol Parliamentary Bye-elections on 09th April:
The State Election Commission
has announced Jalgaon and Erandol Parliamentary Constituencies Bye-elections on
09th April 2007. Nomination process would begin from 16th March and Election Code
of Conduct is enforced from 13th March.
Form filling process begins 16th and
ends on 23rd March followed by scrutiny on 24th March and same day as last day
of withdrawing nominations. Polling would be on 09th April followed by counting
and result announcement on 12th April.
Cottonomics 2006-07:
20 Cotton centres closed:
The CCI has finalised to close its 20 Cotton
buying centres before its due period following no inflow of cotton in these centres.
Meanwhile the private buyers continue to buy in quantity with record volume of
45 Lakh quintals of cotton crop procured as of now.
CCI started 26 cotton
buying centres in Jalgaon region with effect from 07th November and availed Rs.
1890/- per quintal rates wherein private buyers offered Rs. 2,200 Cash for the
same crop. CCI has procured 173,910 quintals of cotton as of now. Its Jalgaon,
Jamner, Amalner, Pachora and Dhule centres would continue until further instructions.

ZP Elections: 64.5% Voting in Jalgaon District:
Jalgaon
District ZP and Village Panchayat elections had a hopping 64.5% voting yesterday
amidst peaceful environment. Angry Voters entered inside Adavad (Chopda) Polling
booth and damaged EVM and other material following delays in voting process due
to EVM having certain technical difficulties. The State Reserved Police Force
has entered Adavad and situation is under total control. Administration has ordered
re-voting today at Adavad. The votes counting process would begin today afternoon
at 12PM and first result would be out by 2PM and complete results by evening 5PM.
There are around 1500 staff employed for Votes counting at 15 Taluka and District
Collectorate as Control Room for monitoring entire situation.
MuktaiNagar Taluka
witnessed highest voters turnout of 73% followed by Dharangaon - 67.65%, Chopda
- 67.24%, Bhadgaon - 66.50%, Raver - 66.48%, Erandol - 65.69%, Chalisgaon and
Yaval - 64.30%, Jalgaon - 63.65%, Pachora - 62.34%, Parola - 61.34%, Amalner -
61.28%, Jamner - 60.22%, Bhusawal - 56.57% and Bodwad - 54.13%.
Corporation
to begin Pay and Park service from next week:
Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation
is beginning its Pay and Park Service in Jalgaon city's 13 places beginning next
week on experimental basis. The Pay and Park service proposes to charge Rs. 2.50
for Four-wheelers, a rupee for Two-Wheelers valid for 8 hours.

Jalgaon's
all 68 ZP Blocks and 15 Panchayat Committee's 136 sections are undergoing polling
today from 7.30AM until 5.30PM. District Authorities have made adequate security
arrangement for fair and smooth conduct of entire process amidst tight security
arrangements. There are 860 candidates trying their fate in this election.
Votes counting in scheduled on tomorrow at respective Taluka Headquarter and likely
Results by evening. All major political parties have shown their confidence in
candidates and are claims majority.

keeping Jalgaonities away from World Cup Cricket:
Cricket's mega extravaganza
World Cup Cricket is beginning today and Jalgaonities are down in spirit following
no availability of Cable TV feeds with ongoing tussle between Entertainment Tax
Department and Cable Service Providers. Authorities at one-end reports huge outstanding
dues with Operators wherein Operators claims figures falsified leading to legal
battle in both parties.
Direct to Home based Cable Service as a result is
picking up with primary reports of around 18,853 installations and 88,265 cable
customers. Union Budget has added 50% hike of Entertainment tax on DTH service
to 45 Rs. Per month in Corporation areas, 30 Rs. Per month in Class A and Class
B Councils and Rs. 15 per month in rest of areas.
Section 37(1) and
37(3) imposed in Jalgaon District:
Jalgaon District Magistrate cum Collectorate
has enforced Bombay Police Act 1951 Section 37(1) and 37(3) in order to maintain
Law and Order Situation in the District following SSC, HSC Board Exams along with
ongoing ZP and Village Panchayat Elections. This Order remains in force from 11th
March until 24th March midnight. This Order further implies no grouping of 5 or
more persons and bans public gathering and addresses.

Court on Bhusawal Council President Selection:
The Supreme Court has cleared Stay imposed by Mumbai High Court on announcing
result of Council President and Vice-President Election and has verdict Authorities
to announce Election Results. This Order has cleared all hurdles in further developmental
works of Bhusawal city derailed after hottest of all elections.

Jalgaon District Administration is all set

from over 1,500 villages and places for this election in 15 Taluka of District
at 2,409 polling booths and 18,796 officers and staff employed. Authorities have
marked 2 booths as sensitive and 273 as possible-violent booths.

urges "Mother Protection" scheme beneficiaries:
State Government
has introduced Mother Protection scheme in Urban areas from 2006-07 and Jalgaon
Corporation has received Grants for this scheme. This scheme is available for
Below-Poverty line and scheduled castes and tribes pregnant women and aims at
reducing fetus death ratio due to increased cost of deliveries. This scheme is
valid for maximum of 2 children and avails Rs. 1,500/- Medical Charges to qualified
Doctors and Rs. 500/- for medical treatment and requires mandatory pre-delivery
registration with Corporation.

ZP Election campaigning to end today:
Jalgaon
District Council and Village Panchayat Elections campaigning are ending today
at 10PM. This election for first time had none of the star-leader and campaigner
arriving in the district for their candidates.
Amongst major selling points
for local candidates was Electricity Load Shedding, Sugarcane, Cotton, banana
and other crops not getting good rates, drinking water and disrupting Law and
Order Situation in Jalgaon.

wins bronze in National Rope-pulling competition:
Maharashtra State Team
has won Bronze medal in recently conducted National Rope-pulling competition at
Hyderabad. State's both Boys and Girls team secured third rank and had Jalgaon's
7 players in it.
Boys' team Jalgaon players participated in this competition
were Lalit Bhadane, Umesh Patil, Swapnil Nikam, Deepak Wade, Sachin Bhoi, Azhar

Elections: BJP has maximum of all candidates:
The upcoming ZP and Village
Panchayat elections have BJP as largest candidature party having 171 candidates
in fray followed by NCP with 161 candidates and Congress I with 160. BJP ruling
on ZP since last 5 years has geared up its plans to continue win majority and
cautious approach as its ally Shivsena is fighting separately except Pachora and
Chopda.
This include BJP - 58, Congress I - 52, NCP - 55 and Shivsena - 48,
Navnirman Sena - 15, BSP - 10 candidates along with 59 Independents totaling to
301 candidates in 68 ZP blocks. There are 559 candidates in 136 sections in Panchayat
having BJP - 113, Congress I - 108, NCP - 106, Shivsena - 91, Navnirman Sena -
22, BSP - 5, Independents - 101 candidates.
State Electricity
Distribution Company hikes up Load shedding:
State owned Electricity Distribution
Company has hiked up its daily load shedding throughout State. The newly announced
load shedding has daily 4 hours in large cities, 7.30 hours in small cities and
13 to 14 hours load shedding in rural areas. This immediate measure is now in
effect in Jalgaon. The newly announced plans have 30 minutes less load shedding
as per maximum allowed load shedding limits as set by State Electricity Regulatory
Commission.
Jalgaon's Rohit Chaudhari to lead State Table Tennis Team:
Jalgaon
Taluka Table Tennis Association player Rohit Chaudhari has been selected as Maharashtra-A
Team Captain for upcoming Senior's National and Inter-State Table Competition
at Ajmer from 07th until 13th March.

ZP Elections: 273 booths marked sensitive, 17
fights to attract attention:
ZP and Village
Panchayat election campaigning is at peak and would reach final phases shortly.
There are 17 constituencies from 15 Taluka having attentive attraction of entire
district. This includes two MLA sons, 4 Ex-MLA sons and an Ex-Minister's son.
Interesting notable aspect in this election is participation of young generation
from political families.
After final verdict from Courts, there are 301 candidates
for ZP and 559 for Village Panchayats as at 06th March. The District Administration
has marked 77 villages for special attention and 273 polling booths as sensitive
and has beefed up its security at these locations. There are in all 1,818,438
voters in this election at 2,409 polling booths throughout District. Administration
has set 3,500 Policemen and 2 companies of S.R.P. along with around 19,000 staff
to handle entire process.

Jalgaon City
Municipal Corporation has received first prize for Best Implementation of Education
for All Drive throughout the State. State Education for All Project team announced
this recently.
The drive awarding parameters includes construction of school

City Municipal Corporation standing committee met yesterday and approved Rs. 4
Lakhs expenditure for constituting Jalgaon City Ratna and Jalgaon City Bhushan
Awards beginning this year. It also approved 13 other topics on agenda. Amongst
other decision includes approving Gopalpura to Asoda Road Works at 34% additional
rates, Building Gymnasium Hall and Play Centre at Mehrun area Open Plot, lighting
arrangements at Mehrun Lake, setting up 11 meters high 5 streetlights from MLA
funds, repairing of Roads in MIDC area and extension of contract awarded for new
bridge on Lendi Nala.
Democracy Day: 54
Complaints received:
The District Collectorate yesterday received 54 complaints
on eve of Monthly Democracy Day. Collectorate verdict 2 and rest 52 were sent
further to respective departments. It included 19 from Revenue Department, ZP
CEO 9, DSP - 5, MSEB - 2, Corporation - 5, Irrigation Department - 3, Land Records
Department - 4 and others 5.
District Inflation Control
Committee meeting today:
The newly formed Jalgaon District Inflation controls
committee is meeting today to review market situation. The Committee is chaired
by District Collector and has District Supply Officer as Secretary along with
District Police Superintendent, District Co-operative Board and other Government
officers as members. The committee would review market pricing of various essential
commodities and post Union-Budget effect in market.

Under-17 Cricket Competition:
The ongoing Maharashtra Cricket Association
organised State level Under-17 Cricket competition had Usmanabad team scoring
155/5 in response to Aurangabad team's 170 runs in first inning. Usmanabad team
bowler Yuvraj Pawar took 5 wickets while Aurangabad batsman Arif Momin scored
47 runs. The match is being played at Police Parade Ground Jalgaon. In earlier
match, Latur team defeated Vijay Club Pune by 1 inning and 127 runs.

Panchayat Committee organised Taluka-Level Poster Competition:
Jalgaon
Panchayat Committee is conducting a Primary, Secondary and Higher-Secondary Schools
Taluka-level Banner and Poster competition. Competition is opne to all in various
groups that include Students, Teachers, aspirant artists in rural and urban areas
and Professional Artists.
Competition subjects are Open-Toileting Free Villages,
promoting Health Awareness and many other subjects. First Prize is Rs. 701/- Cash,
Second: Rs. 501/- and Third: Rs. 251 each for Best Posters, Best Banner Designs
and Best Drawing with Slogan. Poster, Banner and Drawings should be in 3x2, 2x1
wherein cloth banners should be 4"x3", hardboard or resin posters in
3"x2", Pune Handmade paper drawings on 3"x2".

Elections: Political Parties fear of renegade candidates:
ZP and Village
Panchayat Election is coming up on 11th March and as a special preparatory measure
all Political parties are engaged in formulating future prospects and equations.
All 4 major parties in District i.e. NCP, Congress I, BJP, Shivsena are fighting
elections independently excluding some places. Candidates having changed their
parties just before Elections announcement and those having changed Parties because
of their parties not offering Candidature are issues of serious concerns to respective
parties.
BJP and Shivsena alliance did not continued in this election and
the Congress with NCP alliance efforts did not applied other than 5 Taluka. Most
of the Election constituencies have quadrilateral and triangular fights. Some
of those candidates not allotted with Party Seat for fighting elections have taken
Independent Candidate roles.
Forest Department avails Rs. 21 Lakhs grant
for Patnadevi development:
Patnadevi Forestry and temple region in Chalisgaon
is soon going to have brand new look with various developmental works being conducted
here. Prime attraction works are Tourist Pictorial Gallery, Forestry Garden, Children
Garden. The Gotala Forestry in Patnadevi region is being developed under Nature
Tourism Development scheme. The proposed work would take 6 months duration with
pictures taking work already begun and many other works in process.

The Inter-Governmental Panel of Climate
Change submitted report has indicated year 2007 as most heating year. As a result,
Jalgaon already having worst of summer heat is likely to through more heat during
peak summer in May month. Jalgaon District has recorded maximum of 48.5 Degrees
Centigrade Temperature and May second and third weeks have above 45 Degrees temperature
every year.
IMR wins 15 prizes in Youth Festival at Banaras:
KCE Society Institute of Management and Research students having participated
in National Youth Festival at Banaras have won 15 prizes in various competitions.
Its students Kiran Sohale won First Prize in Classical Singing and One-Play Performance.

ZP and Village Panchayat Elections:
297 candidates for ZP and 551 for Panchayat:
ZP Election nomination forms
withdrawing process yesterday witnessed historic turnaround of candidates with
799 candidates withdrawing their nominations that include 267 from ZP Blocks and
532 from Village Panchayat Sections. There are now 848 candidates in fray for
both elections consisting of 267 for 68 ZP blocks and 551 for 136 Village Panchayat
blocks.
Jamner Taluka remained on top in terms of ZP nomination withdrawal
with 43 candidates withdrawal followed by Pachora with 32, MuktaiNagar with 28,
Jalgaon with 10 and Yaval on lowest with 9 candidates. In Panchayat withdrawals,
Chalisgaon topped with 78 withdrawals, Jamner with 59, Pachora with 49, Jalgaon
with 21 and Bhusawal on lowest with 11 withdrawals.
Most of the constituencies
have quadrilateral, triangular fight amongst candidates with some having straight
one to one fights. District yesterday had nominations withdrawing from some of
known political party members. Election Voting is on 11th March followed by counting
on 12th March.

Maharashtra University Jalgaon has organised its 15th Convocation ceremony today
to award 12,375 degrees from various streams in colleges affiliated. Convocation

ZP Elections: Last day of withdrawing nominations
today:
District Council and Village Panchayat
Election preparations are in full swing with Election Day coming closer. Today
is only and last day of withdrawing nominations. There are 2,882 applications
that include 1,495 for 68 ZP Blocks and 1,387 for 136 Panchayat sections. Administration
would distribute election signs to all candidates finalised by 3PM at respective
Tahsil office.
The ZP block candidates have 60,000 maximum expenditure limits
wherein Panchayat candidates have 40,000 limits as set by Election Commission.
In actual, ZP candidates' spare Rs. 7-10 Lakhs and Panchayat candidates expedite
2-3 Lakhs for their candidature along with Administration spending Rs. 2 Crores
for entire management totalling to Rs. 20 Crores transaction during this period.

2006 bonanza: Water levels increases by 6 meters:
Jalgaon District has
recorded wonderful increase in ground water level with wonderful monsoon raining
this season. The Authorities have reported around 6 meters increase in ground
water level for first time in last 15 years. District has average rainfall of
710mm and this year it crossed this mark by double.
Jalgaon District has 11,771
square Kilometres area that has 7,111 (60%) Square Kilometres in Deccan Trap and
rest 4,660 Square Kilometres occupied by soil and water. The trap area has Bhusawal,
Bhadgaon, Chalisgaon, Pachora, Parola, Amalner, Jamner and Erandol wherein Yaval,
Raver, Chopda, Jalgaon are in soil cum water area. The Yaval Taluka has 6.15 meters
increase wherein Chopda has increase of 5.42 meters followed by Jamner with 5.40
and Jalgaon having 3.45 meters increase as surveyed in well.

Special Accounts Audit Committee arrives in Jalgaon:
State
Government appointed Special Accounts Audit Committee has arrived in Jalgaon to
check earlier Jalgaon Municipal Council and current Jalgaon Corporation accounts.
Jalgaon Corporation's many a projects like Jalgaon Airport Development, Housing
Development, Roads Development, Free bus Service, Waghur projects have been under
scanner for alleged wrong financial management that led to huge debt on Jalgaon
Corporation.
The committee did its Audit work yesterday and would continue
to execute its rest of work today. Earlier Joshi and Savant Commissions inquired
Corporation and earlier Council for same range of issues.

Thousands of tonnes
of sugarcane still lying:
Belganga Sugar factory region in Chalisgaon Taluka
has thousands of tonnes of sugarcane still waiting for good buyers. The Pilkhod
region in Chalisgaon and other nearby good sugarcane producers' zone has good
yield this year but could not find buyers to take this sugarcane. Sugarcane is
a cash crop and as a result, farmers in region are turning more to it.
