31st August:
Welcome Ganesh: Goodbye Distress:
The arrival of Lord Ganesh throughout the Country marks beginning of a new era for entire Country. Let us all pray together to Lord Ganesh to bring in joy, prosperity, and power to throw all our barriers and lead the entire world.
This year there are around 1700 Ganesh Mandals in the Jalgaon District with Police at their high alert state. The District Police has 2635 Policeman, 121 Police Officers and almost one thousand home guards with 100 Lady Constables and 130 CRPF personnel.

Jalgaon District Best Teacher's Awards:
The District Administration is announcing Best Teacher's Awards for year 2002-03 today. The prize Distribution and honour ceremony is on 05th September 2003 on the eve of Teacher's Day.
The Authority has selected 32 Teacher's for the nomination.

30th August:
JCMC elections 2003:
A total number of 145 candidates have withdrawn their nominations until last day of withdrawn for JCMC elections. With this, the total number lower downs to 247 for the upcoming JCMC elections.
The Election Authority is distributing election symbol today to all the candidates.

Monsoon 2003:
The Monsoon is pleasing this weekend with continued showering throughout the region. The continued showering has resulted in significant decrease in temperature and the climate is at its jovial state. The raining continued throughout Friday and continues today as well.

Jalgaon's Bhushan Tayade secures Third rank in Shooting:
Jalgaon's Bhushan Prabhakar Tayade has secured Third rank in All India Men's open site ten meters Air rifle in Individual category. He secured Bronze medal by obtaining 326 points.

29th August:
Dharangaon Udhana route Electrification Inauguration today:
The Deputy Prime Minister along with Railway Minister is inaugurating Dharangaon to Udhana Electrification for public. With this, every train back and forth to Surat side shall use Electrical Railway Engine with 160KMPH speed. The Project covering 306kms route distance (208kms in Maharashtra and 98kms ni Gujarat) from Dharangaon until Udhana covering 43 railway stations begun on 22nd January 1999 and expedite Rs. 144 Crores provides Optic Fibre and Four Quad Cable Communication with Route Setting type Control Panel and Colour Light Signalling System.

Grand Rangoli Exhibition from Sakal:
Sakal, the leading Marathi Newspaper's Jalgaon Branch is commemorating its Seventh Annual day and has organised a grand Rangoli Exhibition on 30th August from 11am until 20.30pm and 31st August 2003 on 10am until 17pm at IMA Hall Jalgaon.
The exhibition highlights Guineas Book Record holder 600sqft Rangoli display by Adamali Mujawar.

JCMC election 2003:
Twenty-Seven candidates of 403 have withdrawn their nominations. With this, total number of candidates low down to 376 with today as last date of withdrawn of forms. The Election authority is distributing Election symbols tomorrow.
Interestingly every candidate applying for election needs to clear his/ her all dues towards the council. This clause has given a handsome collection of around Eight Lac rupees to JCMC in form of House Tax, General Taxes and other bills.

28th August:
Manudevi festivity today:
Khandesh's guardian devotee in Satpuda hills range Manudevi festivity is beginning from 28th August 2003. The temple located at just eight kilometres from Adgaon in Yaval taluka has natures the best location surrounded by waterfall from three sides deep inside the hills.

State Transport announces Discount Cards:
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has announced Special annual Discount cards for its regular passengers. The Card costing Rs. 200/- shall hold one year validity offering handsome discount of 10% on travel in Ordinary and Semi Luxury buses and reservation facility for long travel as well. The card remains valid throughout Maharashtra in any of its Depot. The card covers accidental Insurance payment of Rs. 50000 to nominee in case of Accidental death. Deputy PM in Jalgaon:
The Deputy Prime Minister is arriving in Jalgaon to inaugurate Dharangaon to Surat Electrification on 29th August 2003 along with many other ministers and Railway officials.
The Electrification shall reduce Surat journey by around one hour.

27th August:
JCMC elections:
The JCMC election 2003 forms scrutiny has resulted in cancellation of nine incomplete forms on Tuesday. With this, total number of nominations change to 660 by 441 Candidates. Friday, 29th August is last date for withdrawal of nominations and then only clear picture of candidate's will emerge.
As per order received from EC, the District authority has received around 9000 new eligible voter's name completing 18 years as on 01st January 2003. The new voter's turnout marks just 0.39% of total voters.
The Jalgaon city marked just 1% increase in number of voters for the year 2003.

26th August:
Entire India on High Alert:
Following series of Bomb explosions in Mumbai, the commercial capital of India, entire Country is set at high alert. The Bhusaval division Railways hosting the Kumbh Event in Nashik has geared up its Sinhastha Kumbh security arrangements.

JCMC elections:
JCMC has received in all 669 applications until last day of filling nomination forms for upcoming elections. In all 449 candidates filed their 669 nominations for 69 seats in JCMC. The JCMC sold 1555 nomination forms for this election. All nominations will be scrutinised today and Friday is last date of withdrawn.
All Political parties in final stages of announcing their candidature and entire city environment has become Election-lightened. The most beneficial advantage for political parties and candidates is availability of low-cost communication devices with their active supporters. Thanks to cell revolution, the cell operators are cashing the advantage by offering full talk time on their new number making no number allotment cost. Most of the candidates still use the older communication methodologies to attract voters. Banners, posters, hoardings, and handouts remain their major campaigning technologies.

DM implies 37(1) and 37(3) in District:
The Jalgaon District Magistrate has implied Bombay Police Act 1951 Section 37(1) and Section 37(3) from 27th August 2003 until 10th September 2003 to maintain Law and Order Situation in the District.

Finance Ministry exempts Hardware maintenance from Service Tax:
The Finance ministry has exempted Hardware Maintenance, Repairing, and Annual Maintenance Contracts from service tax by its notification dated 21st August 2003 after meeting with committee of Hardware companies.
The Internet Service offering cyber café are still under 8% service tax net.

25th August:
Monsoon raining kills one:
The Friday night begun raining has overflowed almost every river and dam and is causing damages to standing crop. The administration opened all of 36 gates of Hatnur dam to control the overflow. A lady drown in the overflowing Aner river in Chopda Taluka while many of shelter and temporary shades turned down following heavy raining. The District administration has urged to use boiled drinking water only to avoid any sort of diseases. The adjoining Dhule and Nandurbar districts also witnessed fantastic rainfall delighting common person.

Ice Decorated Amarnath in Siddhi Vyankatesh Temple:
The "Shravani" is ending today with Ice-Decorated Amarnath View in Siddhi Vyankatesh Temple while temple decoration in Shivdham Nimkhedi. The Ice decoration remains key attraction for thousands of devotees every year.

BSNL rings: 50 hours Net connectivity free with every new telephone connection:
Facing stiff competition in cellular connectivity, the telecom giant is finally ringing in with a new scheme to lure new comers. BSNL is offering 50 hours of free Internet Connectivity to new landline telephone subscriber with effect from 20th August until 03rd September 2003. It also offers free installation and subscription to military and Para-military force personnel, the deposit amount shall be payable in coming ten bills in instalments with an initial signup deposit.
The Cellone booking continues until 31st August 2003 with Rs. 100 talk time free for six months and activation fees at just Rs. 200/-.
With arrival of Reliance WLL service, the Cellular and WLL fight has begun and for sure, BSNL is going to be in last line as its offers lack market feelings.

24th August:
Monsoon downpour in entire Jalgaon District:
The Monsoon raining since last Friday has turned entire Jalgaon District into a monsoon enjoying state. Almost all dam supplying water to District are getting fantastic increase in water level with some over flooding in many areas of district.
The Tapi, Girna, Purna, Anjani, Titur, Gadad, and Ratnavati rivers are flooded in various parts while sixteen doors of the Hatnur dam are open to control the overflow.
The raining still continues throughout Saturday night and Sunday morning making it one of the major rainfalls throughout the monsoon. However, until now there is no life casualty throughout district. The MSEB faced problems in maintaining power causing power cuts in many regions for more than two-three hours on Saturday.

Court clears Engineering and Medical Admission Process:
The Apex Court of India has cleared all complex in Medical and Engineering admissions in State and has ordered Engineering Colleges to restart admission process from 27th August and from 03rd September to Medical Colleges in State.
The order further forms 50-50 Quota in all Private Colleges for State - Management Seats. The percentage includes a special NRI quota in each of share while the same 50% is included for Minority run institutions as well. The admission for both Medical and Engineering shall be strictly on CET rules and marks merit of Class XII only. All Private Colleges should report their new fees structure to a new committee headed by a retired Judge within one week and get formal approval for the same.

Accident injures 30:
The Private Bus and Truck collision on Sonari - Maldabhadi point at Bodwad Road caused injuries to 30 passengers, arriving from Hadapsar Pune. The incidence took place at 9.30am on 23rd August morning. The bus passengers after finishing their 40-days Pilgrimage tour were returning to their destination.
Six of thirty passengers are in critical condition and all are under treatment at Jamner Rural Hospital.

JCMC Elections 2003:
Seventy-Two Candidates have submitted their 112 nomination for the upcoming JCMC elections. Monday remains last day for filling nominations.

23rd August:
JCMC Elections:
The JCMC election preparation is in full swing with nomination forms sold at fastest speed. JCMC has sold 1192 forms on sixth day end and most of the political parties are in final stages of preparing and gearing up their candidatures.
The EC has sent in new election symbols for the upcoming elections, those including Batsman, Ice Cream, Book, Bread, Pool, Briefcase, Bungalow, Cake, Bed, Light Poll etc.

Monsoon pleases weekend:
After dry weather for many days, the monsoon has finally arrived back in Jalgaon since Friday night in full form. Raining continues throughout Friday night and continues today in most of the parts of Jalgaon District.

Sinhastha Kumbh Mela Special Trains:
The Central Railways Bhusaval Division is starting up various Sinhastha Kumbh Mela Special Trains to cover up ongoing Kumbh Mela rush at Nashik. The Trains scheduled to run on main Parvani Days from various important destinations around India will have all general coaches to facilitate the monks to reach Nashik and Tryambakeshwar.

22nd August:
JCMC elections 2003:
The Jalgaon City Municipal Corporation election's preparations are in full swing. JCMC Election authority has sold almost 964 application forms until fifth day of selling forms. Every candidate willing for election has to submit five different declarations. All these declarations received are available on JCMC notice board for public information. Those who have faced imprisonment of more than two years are not eligible for this election.

21st & 20th August:
Maharashtra State Government announces Student Insurance Plan:
Every student studying from Class one until Higher Education is now Accident Insured by State Government. The scheme started on the eve of Late Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi's memorial, will provide Insurance cover of Rs. 30,000 to family members of student in case of accidental death, Rs. 50,000 in case of permanent physical handicap, and Rs. 10,000 for surgery if required for operation.
The scheme covers every student studying in any of granted/ Non-granted or public/ Private School or college with a premium payment of Rs. 1.21 plus service Tax by Oriental insurance company from 20th August 2003 until 19th August 2004. The Maharashtra State educates almost 21 million students every year.

Co-operative department orders Inquiry into Pachora People's Bank:
The District Co-operative Department has ordered inquiry into alleged misuse of funds in Pachora People's Co-operative Bank, Pachora.
The order came following reports of abuse of funds by a Bank employee.

MSEB announces new Power cut schedule:
The MSEB has announced new revised daily three hours power cut schedule for urban areas while daily five hours for rural areas with effect from 01st September 2003.
The MSEB has started this revised power cut schedule following shortage of around 1500MW power in demand supply generation.

Police constable commits suicide:
The Police Superintendent on-duty staff Rajendra Shamrao Borse (Age 40) committed suicide by firing on himself on 20th August 8pm following non grant of holidays to take his cancer-affected mother on treatment.

19th August:
Accident kills two on Khamgaon - Akola route:
Mothe Vaghoda, Savda based two devotees were killed on the spot when their Sumo crashed due to bursting of rear right side tyres at 10kms distance from Akola on 18th August around 8am. The incidence resulted in injuries to six others sitting in the vehicle. The tyre bursting caused vehicle swing around 20 metres away at a very high speed, resulting in injuries to passengers.
All devotees were moving to Mahur and Vrudhapur on the eve of Gokul Ashtami. The two died includes Dr. Nilkanth Raho Patil (Age 68) and Bhagwat Narayan Patil (Age 65).
In another incidence, the truck collision caused Pachora car driver's death when they were returning from Aurangabad. Samadhan Bhagwan Patil (Age 20) died when truck collided with his car at Sillod. The two other persons sitting in car felt injuries and are under treatment in Jalgaon.

District tremors on XXX CDs issue:
The increasing number of CD writers and ease to write CD is causing terrible shock to entire district community. Most of the CDs written are adult pornography movies causing severe damages to social structure especially in younger generation.
Those considering the CD-writing business as instant money earning lure are fault fully spreading this virus among newer generation causing panic for parents. The Rs 50-100 earning of a shorter span can badly cause severe penalties and social insult if caught.
Moreover, do not forget the key factor that we also belong to a family and if same thing happens with any of our family member, are the same felt at with others.
We urge young generation to remain cautious from such virus spreading and report to nearest Police station if you find some such anti-social activities.

Youth drowns in Mehrun Lake:
The youth went in overflowing Mehrun Lake for swimming drowns in suddenly on Monday. The youth remains unidentified. Etched "Kishor" on hand, he is wearing White shirt and ash coloured paint. MIDC Police Station has recorded the death.

Information Technology Day 2003:
As per Maharashtra State Government order dated 12th July 2003, the State has announced Information Technology Policy 2003 and entire State celebrates IT Day on 20th August 2003.
The District Information Centre is organising a conference on the eve to discuss State Policies on the same at 4pm in DIC Hall.

18th August:
Anna Hazare withdraws protest:
The Social leader Anna Hazare has withdrawn his hunger protest after State Government agreeing his four major demands. With this the eight days before begun episode has ended with both Suresh dada Jain and Anna Hazare declaring an end to their strike.

Business Community forms Confederation to protest Octroi:
The State Business community has formed 30-member confederation to protest the Octroi issue headed by Jalgaon Business confederation head. The meeting attended by twelve districts business community has unanimously resolved to appeal State Government to apply Octroi to City where population exceeds 15 Lacs.

Nutan Maratha College wins Under-19 District-Level Cricket Competition:
The Nutan Maratha College Jalgaon has won the Under-19 District Level C K Naidu Trophy Cricket Competition by defeating Chopda Junior College by 54 runs. In all four teams participated in the trophy.

17th August:
Suresh dada Jain withdraws Hunger Strike:
Jalgaon's Suresh dada Jain has withdrawn his hunger strike after State Government approving his demand for Inquiry commission on Anna Hazare. The withdrawn decision came after seven days of hunger strike of both Suresh dada and Anna Hazare.
On the other side, the social worker Anna Hazare is still on hunger strike even though his condition turned critical and has rejected the State's request to end his protest.

JCMC Elections: 283 applications sold:
Almost 283 applications sold on the very first day of beginning of JCMC election nomination forms selling. The election authority has formed two sections each one for ward 1 to 11 and 12 to 23.
Every candidate participating in election has Rs. 1 Lac expenditure limit with Rs. 3000 as deposit for general category while Rs. 1500 for reserved category candidates.

16th August:
Amalner's Police Inspector gets President Honour:
Amalner's Police Inspector Himmatrao Desai has received President Honour on the eve of Independence Day 2003 for his outstanding service to Police department in Gadchiroli and by catching MP crooks when he served in Dhule.

Burhanpur taluka converted to District:
The Madhya Pradesh's Burhanpur is now Burhanpur District with effect from 15th August 2003. The new District formation will not only boost development in the region but will provide various grants to the region for its reforms.
Most of the students from Burhanpur and Business community transacts with Jalgaon District community, as Jalgaon is nearest and touching Maharashtra District.

Jaycees in action:
The Jaycees annual event "Jaycee week" is in effect from 15th August until 24th August 2003. There are in all six Jaycees chapter in Jalgaon with approximately 400 members in all. The Jaycees is an Individual development organisation focusing towards prominent topics as Personality development, Time management, effective public speaking etc.
All six chapters have different events throughout the week.

15th August:
Independence Day Greetings:
EJalgaon Team wishes all its visitors, friends, and families' warm Independence Day Greetings!
The Independence Day 2003 marks special achievement for India. The Country has witnessed World's biggest "Telecom Revolution" in last year. The Tele-density of Country is crossing by no bounds. The "Information Revolution" playing second role after "Internet Revolution" is changing people's life style.
How wonderful it would have been if the telecom giant BSNL announce "No Installation, Minimum Tariff" plans for landline phones? Landline phone in each home would have revolutionise India in a very different many rather than Cellular revolution. Another revolution India has witnessed in last decade is "Milk Revolution," full marks to NDDB excellence, which enjoys major share in the revolution.
We still have many challenges to fight including removing Corruption from our Government System, Power revolution and infrastructure development. Today's educated youth is no more an ordinary youth; he is youth of excellence and willingness.

Manoj Patil flies to USA:
Dharangaon's Manoj Arun Patil is flying to USA for his MS in Computer Science at Birmingham based Albama University. He completed his College Education in Jalgaon and secured BE from Pune.

Supreme Court delivers Landmark Judgement:
The Supreme Court of India has given its landmark judgement to ongoing controversy of Private and Minority run Engineering and Medical Educational Colleges throughout Maharashtra.
In its judgement, the Court has banned taking Capitation Fees in form of donation in colleges and has allocated 50-50% Quota in all Private Colleges. The Court has allocated 50% seats for State CET Admission and 50% Private College management quota admission. It has further given direction to form a committee headed by a retired High Court Judge to implement the new fees structure and another committee to monitor the proper allocation of management quota seats. It has directed colleges to fill in Management Quota seats strictly by means of CET only. The Court will hear allocation for upcoming academic year once this year admission process is completed.
The Apex Court has further rejected demand by private Institution to take capitation fees based on setup and infrastructure the colleges are providing. The new order has given relief to millions of students waiting for admission to first year medical and engineering education.
Many Colleges have already filled in their management by taking handsome donations from students. What about such admitted students remains a big question mark.

Bhusaval Railway Division Accident Relief Train gets ISO 9001:
The Bhusaval Railways division has obtained ISO 9001 Certification for its Accident Relief Train. With this certification, this division becomes Indian Railway's only division to get ISO certification.
The ART (Accident Relief Train) running at 100KMPH has eight coaches in all with 45-member team to resolve the critical accident issues in the division.

JCMC announces Election schedule:
The JCMC in-charge Administrator has announced Election Schedule for upcoming 14th September 2003 election. The Nomination forms are available with JCMC from 16th August until 23rd August from 11am until 15pm and from 11am until 14pm on 25th August 2003 excluding 17th August and 24th August. The forms verification is on 26th August 2003 from 11am onwards and final candidates listing on the same day. The last date for withdrawing nomination is 29th August until 15pm and Election sign distribution on 30th August 2003.
The JCMC will announce final candidates listing in all local newspapers on 03rd September 2003. The Election is on 14th September from 07.30am until 17.30pm and counting on 16th September 2003 and election result notification in State GR on 18th September 2003.

14th August:
State Level Octroi protest Meeting of Business community:
The Jalgaon District Business Confederation is hosting State-level Octroi protest meeting of business community on Sunday, 17th August 2003. The meeting will discuss starting up protest at District levels to end the octroi chargeable at Municipal Corporation levels throughout Maharashtra.

Suresh dada Jain Vs Anna Hazare:
The Suresh dada Jain Vs Anna Hazare hunger protest continues on its sixth day with both staying firm at their demands. The State Ministry on the other hand has urged both of them to withdraw their hung strike as State has approved their demand to inquire each other.

NMU soon to have VSAT based Net connectivity:
The North Maharashtra University will soon have its 'ERNET base' VSAT Internet connectivity as granted by UGC. The NMU is completing 13 years on this 15th August 2003. The other major assurances include providing of results on Telephone, Student Information Bureau in University.
The assertions capitalisation to students and its implementation is still a critical task for politically encrusted NMU.

Police arrests nine offenders:
The Police have arrested nine offenders relating to attack on Rameshwar Ashram at Kochur on Khiroda road.

13th August:
JCMC Election 2003:
The Election Commission is notifying JCMC first ever Election 2003 on 16th August 2003 and the Election Code of Conduct begins the same day. Nomination forms are available with JCMC administration. Every political party is gearing itself to get the best of election results and have begun extensive ward level preparations to inspire the atmosphere.
The JCMC election is on 14th September with counting on 16th September 2003.

Gas tankers turn down on Highway:
The BPCL Gas tanker tumbled on 12th August 2003 morning, 3am at Ajanta Crossing in MIDC area of Jalgaon blocking entire Highway traffic. It took almost nine hours to straighten the tanker tumbled due to breakage in Lock Pin causing break in tanker base.

Gang war in Shahu Nagar area:
The mutual clashes in between two rival group caused panic in Shahu Nagar area of city on 12th August morning. The fighting begun with one group using sticks and iron rods along with knife tried to frighten another rival. The fight resulted in injuries to two members of a group.
Further Police investigation is going on with City Police Station Jalgaon.

12th August:
Engineering students withdraw their strike:
The engineering students called off their eight days run strike for demanding implementation of Conditional Carry on following no favourable response from the NMU. Of seven students, three turned serious following hunger strike and were shifted to District Civil Hospital for treatment.

Crooks cracks Post office cash box:
A group of offenders cracked the M J College post office on 10th August 2003 night taking away Rs. 5000 in cash and Gold and Silver ornaments totalling worth Rs. 18,300/-.
The crooks entered the Office by removing nearby House's window grill and breaking away the Post office lock.

JCMC publishes Voter's listing:
The JCMC has published Voter's listing for its upcoming First ever election scheduled on 14th September 2003. The Election Code of Conduct begins this Saturday. Every candidate willing for election will have to Sign in five different Bonds stating his previous profile including criminal records as well as his current financial status including current bank and other balances.

Monsoon 2003:
The Monsoon 2003 is boosting water levels at various dam in Jalgaon District. Following statistics shows water storage in various dam with percentile thereof.
Hatnur - 63 (19.69%) MLT, Girna - 136.260 (27.62%), Manyad - 3.667 (9.11%), Bori - 6.608 (39.49%), Bhokar Bari - 0.689 (10.54%), Suki - 33.613 (88.41%), Abhora - 5.730 (95.94%), Agnavati - 1.019 (42.75), Tondapur - 4.638 (100%), Hivra - 2.338 (26.93%), Mangrul - 6.407 (100%), and Bahula - 8.747 (60.43%).

11th August:
Bhusaval - Surat route electrification inauguration on 29th August:
The Railways is inaugurating Bhusaval Surat route electrification on 29th August 2003 at Dharangaon in the presence of many of railways officials and ministers.

MITCON training programme:
The Mitcon self-employment centre is organising Video Shooting, Photography, Dairy Development, Mechanic, mobile repairing, and many other self-employment training programmes from 13th August 2003.

The Jalgaon city municipal corporation is publishing its Voter's listing for upcoming election in September 2003. There are in all 2.14 Lac voters in current JCMC election.

10th August:
Engineering students' hunger strike continues:
The Engineer students continued their hunger strike on seventh consecutive day to demand immediate implementation of conditional carry on system for engineering students. The NMU on the other hand has denied the same demand arguing that the same shall lower down the quality of engineering education in the region.

Political ambience all over:
The upcoming JCMC election has spur the political atmosphere everywhere in the entire Jalgaon region. Every political party is busy in drafting its political plans for the election and selecting the right candidate for the same. MBBS third year re-examination:
The NMU is conducting re-examination of all MBBS third year students on tomorrow 11th August 2003 excluding the three students hold accused in the charges of changing answer sheets.
Four of NMU employees along with three students are charge sheeted in the case.

09th August:
Suresh dada Jain and Anna Hazare on Hunger strike from today:
State Food supplies minister and Jalgaon based leader Suresh dada Jain and Social leader Anna Hazare are going on hunger strike on Azad Ground in Mumbai from today demanding to disclose each other's scams.
The issue holds significance to Jalgaon as Municipal Corporation elections are on 14th September 2003.

Pratap College Amalner hostel walls descend:
The Pratap College Amalner hostel walls fall down on Friday morning causing injuries to nine students. The College principal has announced five days emergency holiday and has initiated repair works.

DM implies 37(1) in Jalgaon:
In order to maintain Law and Order Situation in the District, the District Magistrate has implied Section 37(1) and Section 37(3) of Bombay Police Act, 1951 from 07th August 2003 until 21st August 2003.

The Engineering Students hunger strike continues:
The Engineering students continued their indefinite hunger strike to demand immediate implementation of Conditional Carry on system for Engineering Students. The NMU top-level officials visited students and tried to convince the students with exact situation but the students continue their strike.

08th August:
Protest against Coke n Pepsi:
Various groups and parties have shown their protest to use of Coke n Pepsi Cold drinks following the CSE report on contents of soft drinks. Many of them have demanded immediate ban of sales of such soft drinks in District and have given their demand to District Magistrate.
On the other hand, the Soft drink giants Coke n Pepsi have published press notes indicating their product quality assurance.

07th August:
Education department to authenticate all Doctorate Degree holders after 1995:
The Mumbai High Court Aurangabad Bench has given a significant direction to check authenticity of all Doctorate Degree holders' after 1995 throughout the State. The decision came after unearthing of six bogus Doctorate degree holders in North Maharashtra University Jalgaon.
Court has further asked the department to submit its report within two months and take proper action thereof.

Engineering student's hunger strike continues:
The NMU Engineering students continue their hunger strike for third consecutive day demanding implementation of conditional carry-on for Engineering students. NMU has not given any official communication until now on this issue.

Employee takes away cash and Gold worth Rs. 12 Lacs:
An Employee of a Goldsmith took away cash and Gold worth Rs. 12 Lacs in Jamner city. The employee was working with the firm since last ten years but was not on duty since last six months. The offender took away this amount of Rs. 5.20 Lacs in cash and rest worth Gold from jeweller's home stating that the boss has called for the same.
The Police have arrested the Jamner resident 28 year's offender and court has sent him to seven days Police custody.

06th August:
Engineering Students on hunger strike:
Engineering students in NMU, affiliated Engineering Colleges have begun their indefinite hunger strike to demand their Conditional Carry-on. This is second consequent day these students are on hunger strike. On the beginning three students begun their strike and now joined by two more making total number to five. NMU has not given any official communication in reference to these demands until now.

CCB Phones rate change:
The BSNL is changing its Coin box operated telephone rates with effect from 15th August 2003. All PCO, CCB owners need to change their current instruments on or before 14th August 2003 to incorporate the new technical change.
The 50km area dialling will be available by 91x or 92x facility with effective pulse rate of 90/ 120 seconds. The 94/ 98 cell phone dialling facility from PCO/ CCB phones will be available with effective pulse rate of 90 seconds in Jalgaon taluka while 120 seconds in other taluka.

05th August:
Attack on Rameshwar Narayan Ashram:
A group of crooks attacked Kochur in Raver Taluka based Rameshwar Narayangiri Ashram on 04th August morning. The invaders took away silver, gold rings along with some wristwatches and musical instruments from the Ashram.
The attackers thrashed the mahants and other staffers using sticks and are of around 25 to 30 age group as per prima-facie witnesses.
The Police have begun intense search operation in the region to catch the group.

Surat route electrification to commence from 15th August 2003:
The Bhusaval to Surat route electrification process is already complete and it will start functioning from Independence Day 2003.

04th August:
Shravana begins today:
The "Shravana Somwar" festivity is beginning today with every Lord Shiva Temples decorated throughout the region. The Omkareshwar Temple, Panchmukhi Shiva Temple in Jalgaon are organising various religious and cultural programmes to commemorate the beginning.

Mini marathon competition in Jalgaon:
The Jalgaon District athletics Association is organising Mini Marathon competition on 15th August 2003 on the eve of Independence Day 2003. The competition attracts first six prizes as Rs. 2100, Rs. 1100, Rs. 751, Rs. 551, Rs. 301, and Rs. 201 along with certification.

National level Quiz Competition from Chinmay Youth Mission:
The Chinmaya Youth Mission centre is organising a National level Quiz Competition. Two out of six rounds of this competition are at Jalgaon on 12th October and 02nd November and Third round will be at Aurangabad.
